location was wonderful, and easy to explane when you are lost because there was a pizza restaurant near by. Also, it was one block away from the famous church. Breakfast was wonderful. couldn't stop eating the bread they provided. it maybe difficult to use the restroom, since the building i stayed was a modified house, which had only one bathroom( just one) on the floor with three bed room.
good value and really close to everything you want to see the shower on the ground floor was borderline to hot.
Really good location, close to the bus station, center is 5 mins walk. One of the lowest price in Reykjavik for accomodation in a private room with facilities incide. Room is clean enough. I had to call to the manager by mobile phone to ask him to come to the reception and to check me in - I used rouming and it costed like hell. And it's written the hotel has intertet for free, but I didn't find a plug-in for wire and didn't catch any wifi.
The location was perfect. The room of the friends I stayed with was burgled, which was entirely due to the negligence of the guest house keeper who was constantly away and most of the time the house was left unattended. The house keeper himself often behaved in an arrogant way, which made normal communication with him almost impossible. The breakfast was poor and one and the same every day. What is more, on the day of our departure (which happened to be very early in the morning) the house keeper refused to prepare breakfast packs, which was absolutely unfiendly and unprofessional. All in all, apart from the perfect location, I would not recommend this guest house unless the management changes in the future...
Very friendly staff.
Excellent location; friendly staff; great, simple breakfast. We will stay here on every trip to Iceland!
great staff, across the road for buses to airport and blue lagoon, 15 min walk to old town and shopping area. don't go in room No. 4 - beds are too narrow.
conveniently close to central bus station (BSI)
One of the cheapest places to stay in Reykjavik and if you take it on those terms it's a very adequate place to stay (we spent four nights). Some internet reviews would have you believe this is straight out of the 'hostel' films but, as long you're not looking for the five star honeymoon penthouse of your dreams and take into account that this place costs a third of the costs of anywhere else in town you'll have more money to spend on excursions which are very conveniently located just over the road at the BSI bus station which is where you can catch the bus to the airport (Really recommend Thorsmork park if you get the chance!). Totally worth staying if you're on a budget (and unless your loaded in Iceland you will be!) Have fun! It's not perfect but you get what you pay for.
good location - close to bus station, domestic airport and downtown the service is poor, room should be clean more often, garbage taken daily from the room, change towels
Clean rooms. Shared kitchen. Shared bathrooms weren't a problem since there were only a few rooms per floor. Breakfast is free and complimentary. We arrived early in the morning before check in and the let us store our bags in the back room. Easy walk to downtown. French tourists took my kid's milk box from the shared fridge but that's not the hotel's fault.
my fiance and I have definitely decided this is the only place for us while visiting this beautiful country. the bed is so cozy, and the 20 minute walk to downtown Reykjavik is worth it. we will be staying here again when we visit Iceland for a second time, no doubt about it.
