Swimming pool + sauna, food+ drinks I missed better sound insulation of rooms
Hotel Kaskady is a good choice when travelling to Slovakia. Its located near Banska Bystrica in a small village with nice mountain view. Hotel has spa facilities, so you can really relax after trip or buisiness day. Unfortunately stuff at restaurant doesn`t speek english well, but on the other hand they try to be helpful and you do not have to wait for service. So generally I reccomend this hotel for business trip.
Location was great, spa pools were amazing, food was great value
Spa facilities were amazing, breakfast too.
Beautiful pools and spa facilities. Very friendly staff.
The facilities are very charming with scenic country views, great pool and relaxing spa.; Staff is very friendly. Rooms can be better soundproofed. Can clearly hear shower running next door.
It was in the centre of town and had free car parking. The staff were friendly. Our room was on the 5th floor and the lift stopped at the 3rd floor. Carrying cases up two flights of stairs wasn't good. Earplugs would have been a bonus as the church, directlly behind the hotel, began ringing its bells at 6:00 am
Small but nice spa area. Poor breakfast.
The spacious rooms.
location no telephon in room,breakfast- without explanation got poor salami and no ham as advertised
In fact, the hotel is only a two stars one, with an upper part added as penthouse where are located new rooms. Downstairs, the old rooms, with old fashioned furniture, no curtains in the bath, bad smell, and very different from the one they sell for internet. We arrived with children, that is not a facility given for this page booking.com in order to book it. The room, overprized double than in the rest of the village for a similar one, and with less services and confort. The breakfast, bad quality and very scarce in number and quantity of articles. The service, not helpful at all and without knowdledge of english. That is a minimum!. I reccomend not booking on advance, and arriving with plenty of time to check another options (Salamander hotel,F.I.).
Good email liaison before arrival - lovely 'private' spa for hire - chef's cooking was excellent - nice people - helpful staff - lovely position in old town - nice to sit outside under attractive canopy area. We'd like to return when the roadworks have finished! Thank you. Sunday breakfast was rather disappointing but the second day was good (overseen by chef). Front aspects badly affected by current (temporary) road development right outside hotel, causing noise at the front & acess/parking problems & closure of some of our choice attractions eg museums etc (also not easy for our tired, night-time arrival!) A map to help with access/parking & some warning of the current problems would have been helpful, to reduce stress upon arrival!
Increadible atmosphere of the city. Food was wonderful, very kind staff. New wellness and activities arround in the city. Good place for relax or sport or you can just have a walk through nice ancient city and explre the architecture and beautiful nature arround.
Nearly perfect. We felt very welcome. Excellent staff.
Nice hotel, clean and comfortable in a good location. Friendly staff. Some people might not like that the lift only goes af far as the 3rd floor (I was on the 5th) - but since I always use the stairs anyway, I didn't care.
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, especially when the police clamped our hire car!
Hotel is situated in the heart of the charming town of Banska Stiavnica. Studio apartment was very nice, clean with comfortable beds. Free wifi internet around the hallway. Room facilities were poorer than advertised: no fan, no hairdryer, no tea/coffee maker... Both young ladies at the reception desk were very nice and finally gave us the boiling kettle, but the elderly one from the office opposite to reception was very rude and unpleasant. The Salamander's restaurant was closed.
Very kind and flexible staff. Bed was to short
This last one was probably the fourth time I was at Polana Hotel. It's conveniently located and easy to find for those who travel by car. Rooms are comfortable and neat and the restaurant is good to dine alone or with local businessmen. Next time I'll stay here again.
Hard to say...the receptionist at the check out time was very pleasant and apologetic... I travel a bit and this was the first hotel in which the TV did not work and was not fixed or changed in spite of 2 requests to do so. In the restaurant, a Caesar Salad (over 5 Euro charge), was a lettuce (hlavkovy salat) with boiled eggs in it which became uneatable when standard (on the table) dressings were applied. Dear Chef, romaine lettuce is used and the key ingrediet is a special dressing which makes romaine lettuce a Caesar salad. For extra child the receptionist at the checking time (2 pm) requested a charge beyond contractual 18 Euro, claiming that the amount does not include the breakfast. As a result we opted to have one breakfast less.
the staff were attentive and very helpful when asked, service with a smile rare these days. the hotel was well situated with plenty of nearby attractions and walk into town very easy.
Everything about the hotel was nice, the restaurant was especially nice. The staff was pleasant, the room was small and the bathroom was quite small.
Easy access to city center and castle, but not much interesting. The staff didn't treat a guest (was not in the manner training). Too much heaps scattered of cigarette butts at parking site on the hotel front gate.
Rooms are clean with wireless access, the food at the restaurant is excellent and the prize for the both affordable, very well located dowtown in a nice area
Restaurant in hotel is really good - excellent staff there. Rooms are comfortably designed. What made this trip wonderful was that there was an error on my bill - I didn't notice it until after it was paid and I left. By the time I was able to contact Hotel Polana, they had already fixed the error. Will certainly be back! Design of bathroom - especially placement of toilet - is too cramped.
Restaurant excellent with food out of this world Can be noisy in rooms on main roadside
to be dowtown and easy access Except the nice looking Lobby the hotel has been poorly renovated years ago and room was not clean and very basic bed for the price compared to other hotels in Slovakia. The breakfast was very...very basic and light for 6 Euros.
Placed in the very center of the town. The hotel had a very nice Spa section, with a large Jacuzzi and a Sauna (costs extra). Very friendly staff The room at the attic was quite basic and frankly a bit small. No elevator (but the staff was happy to help with the luggage). The staff spoke very little English.
