Pros: Lucy is the perfect hostess - she provides beautiful, comfortable and spotlessly clean accommodation, a delicious breakfast with home made preserves and local produce, and she is a warm, engaging person.
Cons: Bly one, very minor ‘complaint’ - we found it very dark when we got to the house around midnight, and an outside light would have helped.

Pros: The location with its charming family built properties was peaceful, unique and gave a genuine glimpse into French countryside living. Slightly off the beaten track, it’s only 20 min to Dinan and 30 min to Saint Malo. Our hostesses, Catherine and Francois were charming. Thank you!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The charming setting in peaceful countryside France, 20 min from medieval City Dinan and 35 min from sea coast Saint Malo was great. A little off the beaten track, but easy access to main roads, and what a peaceful setting. Our hosts were so likeable, welcoming and helpful. Would definitely return to this unique spot!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location and very relaxing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old cottage in a magnificient garden, including a small lake and some animals (cats, a small dog, some ducks). We loved the stay, perfect for a romantic weekend or a longer stay (we stayed a whole week). Also perfect breakfast (homemade jam, pancakes, etc etc). You can either have your private breakfast in the cottage / outside, or with the host and other guests in the main house. One of the best ¨bed and breakfast¨ we have been in (and we have been in a lot of them).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, home made products, the best croissants, served in style and with love. Thanks.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful little cottage set in beautiful surroundings.
Cons: There are no complaints but to pick something, less creaky floor boards would have made our perfect stay even more perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Picturesque and peaceful setting just like the photos, position of the several properties away from each other offering privacy and quiet, authentic stone buildings and wooden beams, homey feeling of the spacious interior, very clean, a wonderful and charming hostess - Catherine and her pet cats and gorgeous dog
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Environment was tranquil and peaceful. Lovely grounds. Cottages had rustic character and lovely farmhouse feel. Owner very hospitable and breakfast was good with homemade produce.
Cons: Nil
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A delightful place, with granite cottages and beautiful old trees. It is situated in a tiny hamlet, just outside a small village. Very peaceful and pleasant. The chambre d'hote is well-equipped with outside furniture and it has a very pleasant bedroom, with stylish fittings. The breakfast was the highlight of meals, with homemade yoghurts and baking - as well as great company! Overall, highly recommended (strictly 2 adults per cottage - see below).
Cons: We occupied the largest of the little cottages - La Graniterie. The bedroom is a delight, with a glorious bed and lovely furniture. However, only 2 adults can enjoy the place as the sleeping arrangements for the others are not particularly lovely. Whereas the first two people have an enormous bed to share, with imaginative bright linen bedding and lovely furniture and art to enjoy, the others (2 other adults) had to sleep downstairs in a cramped and rather bleak sitting space, in a single bed with a pull out and the bedding of a strange, indescribable colour of sick (why not brighten the arrangement by investing in more pleasant bedding at least?). The sitting area felt small and the bathroom was very small, also. No cottages are equipped to take more than two adults. This was our fault, partly, as we described ourselves as a family with children although our children were both 17, so technically children but adults in reality. Somehow, we got the wrong impression from the photos that the cottage would be much larger than it was. The lovely spacious rooms pictures are actually the areas where the owners live and where they serve the delicious homemade breakfast every morning.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A unique place in a quaint village. Each room is filled with themed items. The beds are mega comfy. Breakfast was delicious with freshly prepared fruit salad. Stefan and Patrick are such great hosts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location in lovely village. Like the Hay on Wye of France with little bookshops and curio shops. Stephan was a delightful host. The Logis was tastefully decorated in keeping with the age of the building with lots of interesting curios and antique furniture. The room overlooking the square was spacious, luxurious and well equipped with lots of attention to detail. Good sized bathroom and big very comfortable bed. Breakfast was taken around a large table in the farmhouse style kitchen. Items of interest everywhere, a fire in the fireplace and kittens snoozing in a box by the hearth. The breakfast was plentiful in traditional French style with coffee and chocolate served in big bowls ( not seen that in France for many years). Staphans collections of crockery are displayed in dressers around the room creating a homely atmosphere. This was the highlight of all the places we stayed on this trip
Cons: As older guests we struggled a bit with the high free standing bath and overhead shower. Looked lovely but not very practical for us as we feared flooding the bathroom floor. Having said that we always struggle with this style of bath
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Stefan and Patrick were very friendly and although there were not facilities to make a drink in the room, Stefan kindly made us a pot of tea when we asked and didn't charge extra for it. The house is very interesting and almost 400 years old. The town is quite pretty but quiet, mainly bookshops. Breakfast was great, sat with other guests around a large table in front of a nice fire in the 400 year old fireplace in the kitchen. A great atmosphere. and very helpful.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good, with a wide variety of items to choose from. Hostess Fabienne was friendly and helpful and spoke much better English than we did French.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you are looking for a home away from home then "The clos des Anges" is the place! The hostess, Fabienne, treats you as a member of the Family from the moment you walk in the door of her beautifull house. The breakfast was delicious with new home made treats every morning and the table itself was decorated in a new way every day. The guest rooms are all on the first floor with a view of the large garden - very quiete and clean with a spacious bathroom and a compfortable bed. Fabienne was very helpful with sightseeing ideas but her home itself ought to be listed as a sight. As an extra bonus she speaks fluent English. Dinge is perfectly situated for visits to Dinan, Rennes, Fougeres, Vitre, San Malo, etc. When we have forgotten Mont St. Michel, the Bayeux tapestry and Monets garden in Giverny we will still remember Les Clos des Anges.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were very satisfield. Ms Fabienne is wonderfull and her hospitality and care is marvelous. Breakfast and homemade waffles were most delicious. We feld there like at home . The stay here I highly recommend! Martina

Pros: Beautiful location, in the countryside but only 25 minutes from St Malo, and 20 minutes from Dinan. And with facilities normally only found at hotels, stay at the Petite Moulin instead of one of the chain hotels in St Malo - it’s less expensive but at high standard.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The grounds were beautiful.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Really peaceful, relaxing stay in the country. Very accommodating staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic panoramic windows with garden view, stunning sounds of running springs under the mill wall - much better than I expected. BTW, there are tree huts that seem to be a childhood dream - I would love to come back to explore them as well! And the breakfast was right what I wanted and right on time!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loveley area, Very peaceful and quiet. We stayed in the family tree house, which was so nice. The pool area and restaurant are great, very friendly host.
Cons: It rained when we got there, but even with the rain it was a very nice place. No electricity or water in the tree house, that s a Good reality check for Iphone minded children (and parents!)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The host was extremely friendly and very communicative and informative. Jacuzzi and the pool were a delight (topped by Vanilla sky sunsets). Rooms were good, but not as amazing as the rest of the estate. The estate is very wide and welcomes walks around the lake. Breakfast was very good, (by French standards, as it's a French style breakfast). Do try having dinner at their restaurant, it was delicious.

Cons: Tea making facilities for breakfast could be better.

Pros: We loved the unique and peaceful atmosphere to the place the pool was great and the tree house was a great experience

Chambre d'Hôtes de Pirieuc - Combourg - Building
9
9.4 Excellent (30 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was the best place we stayed in France and in the top two/three ever. I wondered where we were heading when we traveled down the local road and turned off on a short lane. Even when driving in we were so impressed with the work that had been done on the gardens around the home and the tables set outside in the sun. It presented beautifully, with lawns and flower beds and fruit trees spread out around. Loads of parking space. We were shown to our room which was up a set of wide stairs at the side and when the door opened could not believe how big the room was. Really - it was as big as a house. There were separate toilet and bathrooms which were large. The main room had a large dining table, kitchen facilities, bed - the bed was better than the one at home and wished I could take it with me, and we slept wonderfully. The windows were all double glazed and had shutters outside (these could be closed) which was great considering the fact that the sun was not setting till 10pm+. The views from the windows were also special looking over the gardens and properties around. There were tea/coffee facilities and we could prepare food there as well. Breakfast was served downstairs in the main body of the home and there was a large table spread with a host of good things. Again many of the pastries and spreads were made on site and had that home feel and taste to them. The lady spoke good English while her partner was limited, but this did not stop us being able to communicate. The time together was wonderful though given we asked them to join us was explained that it was not the normal thing to do by other couples staying there. I explained that while we had breakfast, I wanted to understand and know the people we were living with. We were then able to learn about different customs and foods consumed. When we were not there the others could do as they please.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Superb breakfast with attentive hosts. Peaceful location within easy reach of the coast and the Rance.
Cons: If we had been staying longer, some personal outdoor space would have made it perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Shower very good --lighting best so far in France --shaver point in right place --full length mirror --kettle --nice big room --table /chairs . -The owners are really nice .Wonderful breakfast .
Cons: We did not like the polyester sheets. Please note the GPS . co-ordinates TAKE YOU TO THE WRONG HOUSE. Owners should put sign at the end of there road this was on 22/09/2017

Pros: Warm and friendly welcome from our host, who has great tips what to explore. Beautiful house from the 16th century is hidden in quiet surrounding. Comfy bed in a nice suite! Good starting point to visit Saint-Malo and Mont Saint-Michel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful 16th century, white stone house down a country lane, on the outskirts of a village which includes a fair sized supermarket. The property is well placed to visit Mont-St-Michel, St Malo and the stunning medieval town of Dinan. Our host was very friendly, our room was spotless and the continental breakfast was tasty and fresh.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful building from the 16th century, nice host, the rooms are very clean and nicely equipped.
Cons: The breakfast is a bit on the "simple side", but tasty.
7.0 Good
Pros: The lady owner was very nice and friendly. The place it's self is fine. Bed comfy. Heating good. We did not stay for breakfast as had a family problem and had to leave early cannot comment on breakfast.
Cons: No plugs near mirror for hairdryer in bedroom or in bathroom. Plug sockets loose and dangerous. No long mirror. The signage was not good there should be more signs we did not know where to go at first. If you do not mind staying down a long winding lane eventually finding the property in a forest then this is the place for you. My self I found it scary.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very near to all the cities that we wished to visit. Nice swimming pool and hot tub that we used on rainy days of Brittany. The room was bigger than most of the rooms in the region. There was a separate room for luggage with big mirror- very comfortable- no suitcases near the bed, comfortable to get dressed with a light that does not disturb others in a room. Bathroom has a shower with tropical shower option and a big bath. In the room you have a kitchen, which is as well a separate room, so one can cook when another one rests and no smells in the sleeping zone. Kitchen has everything you may need and even more. It has a big table with chairs around and can be used as a small living room. Hosts are amazing and make you feel at home. Breakfasts were a dream (for all - those who prefer the sweet start of the day, or like me - salty breakfast). Staying there we received many useful recommendations that saved our time when looking for a place to eat out or to see around.

5.0 Okay
Cons: Poor attitude of staff. Initially quite friendly but then became a little aggressive when raised a number of issues. Generally the property / rooms were in need of some t.l.c - looked a little shabby and also things could have been cleaner, room dusty and table cloth not clean.... The food options on site came in the form of pre-prepared microwaveable dishes - not at all what I was expecting.... and not very satisfactory
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds were beautiful and the swimming pool was so nice to relax in after a long hot day. It was so kind to be offered a welcome drink on arrival as well as eat a good breakfast the next morning.
Cons: There was a very slippy bit of floor near the bathroom and each of us slid on the rug and also the floor a few times.

6.8 Good
Pros: Reception staff were friendly and helpful. It was a peaceful location. Restaurant food was very good.
Cons: It was exceedingly hot due to the heatwave and whilst we accept there was no air conditioning a fan costs very little to provide and would have made a big difference. We bought our own it was so hot. Likewise the restaurant was very hot and the service was exceedingly slow that just prolonged the discomfort.

Pros: Really good staff, helpful and well trained . The location of the hotel could not have been better . However we had a room overlooking the Bar which was noisy until 1.00am The Restaurant was very good and the food presented was excellent
Cons: The room No 42 was overlooking the road and the Bar next door and was very noisy on Saturday night until 1.00 am on Sunday morning . Not good for sleeping. The dinner was excellent but the Breakfast was a little basic
7.5 Good
Pros: The view was very nice
Cons: It was rather dated
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location, the two staff were lovely but couldn’t resolve our problems
Cons: Dreadful standard of fixtures and fittings shelves hanging off walls , wardrobe doors hanging off, wall switches had exposed wiring, wallpaper peeling off, i think this was a single room as we only had one towel and pillow! I booked this hotel because it had a bar and restaurant ,,,,,,both were not in use? In June ? We asked for another larger room, but no go. We moved out next morning and booked into another local hotel at great cost, the bathroom at the new hotel was bigger than the bathroom and bedroom at the Du Lac all in all a really dreadful experience, thank god the hotel over the road was so helpful and obliging to our plight, the hotel looks great on line.......but it’s not. We as travellers like a hotel with bar and restaurant I think I was mis led by the description of this hotel and would never have booked it if it had been listed as no bar or restaurant available. I am away again the week after next !
