the friendly and helpful manager (Gil) and his staff, and the privacy I always had the lack of a bath and a fridge, but these are very minor points
Quiet Lack of restaurant; only pizzeria close by.
Standard room at decent price. Room & shower weren't too clean.
It's all it should be for the money you pay
Very very good price of the hotel, and the service is good. The staff is very friendly. we arrived late at night at 10pm and the guy was still waiting for us. compare with what i paid there is nothing i should complain about this hotel. It is definatly worth the money!!
exelent price, free internet, free parking, big shoping cnter very close, very closed to all maun chatou in the erea we stayd 4 nights all was perfect
It was ok, but very rundown looking, needs repairs, our shower handle was broken, carpets were stained and no elevator. For people traveling with lots of luggage, they don;t want to lug all that stuff up stairs. had a hard time getting on the internet, needs to be more detailed explanation. Also it said it was going to send the password to a mobile phone, but we are from the US and don't have phones that work in Europe so we could NOT receive the text message with the password. Luckily the reception person, let us use hers.
staff very attentive location on industrial park
No restaurant for evening meal
The hotel is basic but the room was clean. Less than 10 minutes drive from the center of Blois. It was a little difficult to find in an industrial estate. A GPS would have been useful, but beware because the geographical coordinates are incorrect!
Great location and very helpful staff. Good value for money. Rooms quite old and in need of renovation, breakfast simple and not really good value.
The owners were absolutely wonderful. They helped us with recommendations for restaurants and travel arrangements. They were very accomodating in every way. We would love to go back. The slippery bathtub, which I fell in and pulled out of the wall.
Great location, helpful staff No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Very thin walls, could hear any movement made in other rooms.
Cheap and ok hotel. Toilet bowl is not good.
Superb atmosphere created by renovated old building Room 2 - en suite was cramped and open to the bedroom.
Everyone at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. They gave great advice about restaurants and parking, and helped with driving directions on the day we checked out. The hotel has a great location very close to the chateau and within easy walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Not a luxury hotel but very clean and comfortable. Great value for the price.
The location of the hotel is excellent. Overlooking both the Cathedral and the Chateau. Just few minutes walk to the centre of Blios. The owners - Annie & Jacky Barilleau are very nice and helpful. The breakfast @ Eur 7 pp was more for convinience. Better breakfast available right across from the hotel.
Very friendly and helpful owners and staff! Just down the street from the Chateau and parking nearby. Loved the ambiance of this historic building! Tea set in room. Lovely dining room. Does have small elevator. If you like modern and sleek and cookie-cutter, this hotel is not for you. It has modern conveniences in a typical, restored historic building.
Excellent location No parking, although there was a reduction on the (cheap) 24 hour rate at the main Chateau parking - which was very busy
The owners were great. Any questions or concerns you had, they were always there, happy to help. The breakfasts were awesome as well served in a beautiful room The wireless connection was very weak in our room on the 4th floor and so I had to go to the lobby to go on the internet.
The rooms were tiny and shabby. The shower room was a plastic capsule containing a loo, basin and shower with curtain. It was very small. The bed was very uncomfortable and the traffic noise during the night was loud and constant. The hotel is built on motel lines and you could hear people walking around on the corridors and concrete stairs and also doors banging when they were shut.
very clean, friendly staff, located outside of Blois ideal for one night staying
Very small bathroom. GGood for the price.
There is nothing good about this hotel! Hotel staff didn't speak English. There was a cigarette burn in our blanket. The room was meant to be non-smoking but it stank of smoke. It was cold, dark, dingy and as depressing as a jail. DON't book this hotel!!
It was a clean, comfortable and spacious room. We would certainly return to this hotel in future.
Extremely nice man on the desk when we checked in and everyone we met after that was the same. Good value for money. Seemed quite far out of town so would probably only recommend it to people with their own car. Loads of free parking. Free internet with computer to use. Quite far out of town.
Convenient access from the motorway. Two showers/toilets within our room.Value for money breakfast, children free. Very friendly staff.
All personnel was very kind and helpful.
Reception was thoroughly helpful. Breakfast arrangements were entirely satisfactory, and good that food was available from 0700 hours. I found the room I had extremely tight on space, bathroom included, and I found the lighting level seriously inadequate
Handy for overnight stop
Relatively well located, not far from the center of Blois. The hotel was okay, even though the surroundings were not particulairly romantic. Supertiny bathroom (a plastic cube put in the room), the bed was not very comfortable. The elderly Monsieur at the reception at night was not very sympa. All in all, considering other deals in Blois and other hotels we stayed in while travelling in France, I regretted having booked that one.
friendly staff room smelt musty
Lovely people, excellent breakfast. Central location. Would come again. Small room, very small bathroom-shower. Would be difficult to stay here for many days, due to small room and limited storage space, but for short stays it is an excellent value.
The location was great with easy access to the Metro & train stations & there were some wonderful pattisseries close by.
The owners are extremely friendly and helpful.
This is a cheap and cheerful hotel suitable for heavy sleepers that do not mind paper thin walls. The showers are suitable for a female size zero - but plenty of hot water
Close to centre of Blois
it was in the loire valley close to the chateaus and had a family room that slept four at a good price. the landlady's english was better than my french and we made do.
excellent position, close to station and chateau in Blois. Helpful staff, good breakfast.
The rate doesn't go with the hotel. The chambermaid comes too early in the morning to clean the room.
The rooms were clean and the service is very good even with the language barrier - thank goodness my 16 year old daughter was to hand!
convienient to the Chateaux Country
Very quiet, clean and friendly staff. Excellent if you have a car to go into the town centre, although there's also a bus that stops almost opposite the hotel. I will certainly go back to this hotel whenever I'm in the area. Cheap and good service.
The ladies who served us at dinner were absolutely excellent! It was very tired in the accomodation. Vent fan did not work in the bathroom, consequently there was water and steam damage to the walls and ceiling, affecting the tiles and grout - mouldy. In desparate need of rennovayion and decoation.
Restaurant was open till late, I arrived later than expected and it was good to have a hot meal available. Couldn't find it at first. Better directions or include the GPS location so that it is easier to find.
calm, well equiped, godd approach of the hotel staff bathroom a little old and not very clean
Convenient locations to use when travelling. Free wi fi and reasonable restaurants with standard menus - not exciting but ok. The outside and inside need refurbishing - getting very 'tired' but this was true of all 3 Campaniles we stayed at on this visit - the other two were at Bergerac and Perigeux.
a bit old fashioned. Needs some refurnishing.
It had nice rooms and the food was good.
This is not a renovated hotel and the beds are not that confortable....
Hotel Staff was very helpful and friendness. The room was very clean and includes good bathroom (WC was separated) with big tab. Nothing.
The hotel was very conveniently situated. A very enjoyable visit.
Nice friendly staff - gift for small children on arrival. Relaxed setting. Pool table and Xbox for older children - Excellent. Pool was not as big and the photos had made it look - small and cold
Staff was friendly Bathroom smelled horrible. Bad ventilation.
Good for one night stay on the way to final destination. Quiet environment. Close to highway. Friendly and helpful staff Old facilities, need some improvement, especially the bathroom. No air conditioning. A bit far from the city center of Blois.
The setting was ok Bedrooms were only basic. Needed a lot of upgrades. Hotel was quite old. Not value for mone.
Our room was on the ground floor and the only way to get fresh air was to open a door to the car park, which left us feeling vulnerable. A noisy coach party arrived at 11:30 pm which woke us up.
Very good location, if you travel by car.
I liked the price and the location. The bathroom carrelage was really dirty, I told them about it then I thought they would clean it next day. They did not.Rooms were a litle too hot,no fans or air conditioning.
Reasonable price, clean, Long way from Blois, no other restaurants in the area without driving
Far from gorgeous but well facilitated for family with small children. Friendly staffs. Casual restaurant. Easy free parking. No elevator. No mini bar (but a vending machine near lobby).
We have stayed at several Campaniles over the years, and have generaly been happy with it, we enjoy the restaurants, but think the room need some improvment.
The hotel was good value for money. I wouldn't want to stay for any great length of time but it was good for an overnight stop.
Clean, wooden floors, good food deals for children. Helpful staff and a place to store bicycles
Nice, modern, comfortable and well-located hotel. Good breakfast. The shower-bath was quite dangerous, being too high, narrow and with no grab-rail.
Great location, secure parking and a high standard throughtour the hotel. Breakfast was great but dinner a little disappointing in execution rather than menu choice. No complaints at all apart from the dinner which could have been better produced given the raw materials available
We liked the central location and also the easy accessibility to the cycling routes around Blois. We found the duplex room arrangement useful and spacious.
Hotel is located within easy walking distance of the historic old town, the Blois chateau, and many restaurants. The air-conditioned room was appreciated because it was quite hot while we were in Blois. Parking is available at the hotel for 7 Euro per day (about $10). This was a more convenient choice for us than public parking in the river-side parking lot across the street, which usually looked full from the hotel all the toward the old town. Note that breakfast at the hotel costs 14 Euro per person (about $20).
Convenient location and handy for touring the Loire Valley and its chateaux. Within a short walking distance of the town centre. No. As a constructive suggestion, a hand rail in the bath would be useful!
Great position, very helpful staff, room and breakfast very good. Doesn't look great from the outside!
spa zone is really nice after a tiring day
Good location near the centre of town (400 metres). Comfortable room which was clean and practical. Free minio bar is a great idea. Dinner was good - but the menu was a little limited. Room service breakfast was good value for money. Onsite parking was very convenient. The hotel was good value for the cost. Diasspointed at no porter assistance with baggage - but the provision of trolleys and easy access to the garage compensated a little. We had a problem with the bar fridge in one of the rooms (it did not work).
Room clean but much too small for 3 people. Hardly any storing capacity.
Basic but clean and comfortable. Good value. Free parking. I thought that it was nearer to the centre of Blois. It takes 45 mins to walk to the chateau. Only 5 mins by car to riverside car park.
Reception was excellent, friendly, helpful and efficient. Dirty habits of kitchen staff in public; ie. Picking his nose after serving petit dejuener.
Value for money and good location
not too expensive, reasonably clean, breakfast was ok for french standards. good when travelling and need to spend one night boring interior and small room, near a busy road, outside town
Easy to find, very helpful receptionist, free wireless very good. No aircon in the room, was very warm. Double bed difficult for a couple, prefer a qs bed, breakfast not very good - stale croissants.
Nice staff, colours, celan rooms.Fair price. Breakfast for 7 EU was poor and bad.No elevator
Family room extremely cramped. Facilities very basic. Breakfast average.
We had driven 1400 km when we arrived at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were xclean and it was great to have a shower after the long travel. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast the next day was nice.
heating instalation did not work
-close to the train station -close to the centre of town -quiet street -room furnishing a bit old -beds uncomfortable -doesn't feel super clean
Friendly reception staff. Location close to city centre In-room kitchen Standard rooms were very very small. We were lucky to have a larger room available.
The flexibility, able to cook if wanted to. Clean and comfortable too. The beds were a little on the uncomfortable side and the curtains were very thin and this let in light all nikght long. Forced purchase of eye masks
the lack of internet facilities, phone booth( international calls cards are handy), tourist information;the absence of a receptionist when we arrived one hour ( 5p.m.)before the check-in period was due (6 p.m.)on sunday, when everything in town is closed and had to guess how to get in: by chance we had a phone card with which we called from the train station the number in the reservation confirmation; we also had to seek assistance from a floor neighbour for hot water, which was swicthed off
This was a good base to explore Blois and surrounds. We only used the kitchenette for preparing cereal breakfast and tea and coffee but could have prepared a simple meal if we had needed too. Beds were clean and comfortable. The room felt a bit austere with an almost 1960's feel to the decore but it had everythink we needed. The free wifi was extremely slow and had to log in for almost every new page. The long dark corridor to our room was frankly spooky and the occassional loud traffic noise from the street were also minor detractions from this pleasant budget stay.
well situated near the center + parking in the street the smell of oriental cooking in the corridor
When you compare this with Mr. Bed or Premiere class, who both cost around € 39-42, it is a great deal. There is more room. There is the Kitchenette with a fridge! And a coffee machine!! Even if we don't want to cook, these 2 things were important. We paid €45 but they asked us €2 a day for wifi :-( € 2 a day for Wifi
Near the centre of Blois The rooms were acceptable but a little bleak because the ceilings were very high and there was an echo. Fine for a short visit but probably not for a long term stay
The price and the proximity to the Loire à Vélo (we were biking from Blois to Angers) and the train station. Our room was not very clean and rather small; the bed was terrible (something your body does not appreciate much after pedaling the whole day), the breakfast was very expensive (9 Euros, when the standard in the valley is 7)
We found Apart city Blois very convenient to railway. It was aduquate for our needs, nearby a good supermarket. The staff were very helpful . Apartments are small but good value for the price From a cooking point of view an oven would have given more options
I love all the parts!
Friendly atmosphere; proximity to the train station; reasonable rates; access to the internet.
The staff were lovely and the cleaning staff were very sweet, the hotel was clean and beautifully decorated and had a nice feel about it. close to railway to be convenient and the room even though it was a simple room was completely perfect. I had a fabulous meal from the bistro attached to the hotel too, Sebastian who worked there was wonderful and it was a truly great experience.
--proximity to train station (practically right across the street), main reason we chose this hotel --breakfast had fresh bread and croissants --no lift --noise from train station (and traffic in morning) --witless washroom design: shower only had half door covering tub rim --bed too old and soft --breakfast too pricey for limited selection offered
For this price the hotelroom was very clean en nice decorated. The bathroom was good with a shower.
family run, friendly, right across from the train station
Comfortable bed. Railway station is to close.
Convenient to the train station. It is a bare bones kind of place good for a night stay if you are arriving late. There are nicer places for a little more money. However, the staff/owners were very freindly.
Service, nice staff, sweet frence hotel noise from train station
Location Limited reception and front door facilities
Excellent staff, great resturant, good breakfast
Location - near Chambord; Quietness of the hotel. Excellent breakfast.
Very good standard of accomodation, great atmosphere and excellent restaurant.
We loved this hotel, clean, modern, friendly. Near chambord so not around the hotel but it was quiet and really nice.
The hotel is excellent, the staff is friendly, the rooms are very nice and the food is fantastic
Surprisingly chic inside the hotel. Outside it looked pretty ordinary and uninspiring. We didn't eat in the hotel but this is the major attraction. Good location for the Chateau at Chambord and Blois. Would return if we are ever in that location again.
Friendliness of staff no
staff welcoming..rooms light and clean...location good for what we wanted We enjoyed our stay but found the lack of tea making facilities in rooms not good for us. The food was lovely but too much and too late for us. There was no access to English news....everything in French...the access to internet poor in the rooms. Not complaints observations.
Very nice people. A bit difficult speaking English, but enough to get by. The hotel was very modern, and one of the nicest we stayed in during our trip!
great food for fair price at * rated michelin restauranr maybe only room 2, but combined heat/cooling system makes (even shut down) enoying noices. confort not in relation to excellence of rating of restaurant
Limited parking space. No internet point in the hotel.Maid storemed in our room at 9am on Sunday
I liked the cleanliness of my room and the friendliness of the hotel staff. I did not like the shower head. The water came out too weak, which took too long to finish a shower, and not a friendly user in adjusting the water temperature.
Good size room and kept very clean. Good choice at breakfast and easy walking distance from centre. Rather gloomy and very long corridor to rooms! Building from outside very stark and on "business" road.
The room and bathroom was very clean and modern. The air conditioning system was unable to adequately cool the room.
The rooms were newly decorated. The rooms were so recently done that there was a very strong smell of paint. but we got a new room no problem.
good, clean accommodation.staff very helpful.excellant parking.fairly easy access to town etc.
Rooms are clean and comfortable but location is not great if you expect to be centrally located (10 minute walk to downtown - many stairs) I was very unhappy at the check-out. We did the check-out at 6:00am and they had charged us for the breakfast that only opened at 6:30. This was done automatically, which I think is unacceptable. The answer from the clerk was that guess must advised that they are leaving early. I did not think it was obligatory to eat breakfast and guess should not be charged automatically. In addition, we had advised the front desk. I thought that was a poor response. In addition, he was not able to credit us right away as he did not know how. We were in a hurry as we needed to get to the airport so we will need to see our credit bill to see if we received the credit.
The hotel room was very comfortable and the desk staff was very helpful. The breakfast was exceptionally good. Nothing.
Very nice. Room is big compared to hotel room in Paris. I like it a lot. Will return to stay in this hotel if I ever come back to Blois.
the confort of the room, the parking facilities and the bathroom, very nice and clean. very good for the price.
Good sized bath. Staff were very helpful, especially the gentleman who was on duty early on the Monday morning that we left. He checked out the traffic situation on the Boulevard Peripherique in Paris for us. No lift. Double room very, very small and very stuffy. Air conditioning noisy. Room overpriced. Breakfast overpriced.
A warm welcome and very good dinner and attentive service For the price the rooms could have been better appointed--I wonder if Le Medicis is more of a gastro. restaurant plus some rooms, rather than a hotel with a good restaurant
Nice and large family room, clean and newly refurbished. Very quiet room. Good breakfast. Kind staff. Free parking. Only small towels in bathroom. Not located in town center.
What a fantastic restaurant! Without doubt the best meal of the holiday without being extortionately expensive. Breakfast (€12) slightly disappointing after such a good dinner the night before.
Nothing at all Yes everything Price at 138 euros was a complete rip off. Terrible position on roundabout out of town. No bar - had to get a and gin and tonic 11 euros - bottle of beer 6 euros and drink in bedroom . Shower over bath no screen flooded bathroom - bed pillows non extistent. Door handles fell off and woork up to concrete drilling at 0800- poor and living on reputation. Not the standard of a Logis which i have expected very very disapointing.
Not much fresh air can get in! The room was not very clean. The room was a little bit tight for three people because the room is attic. We could not stand straight most of the room.
only the restorant No elevator. Difficult to carry by our self our lugagges.
Food is fantastic Room decoration
Mix up with Balladins hotels in Blois. Not clear at all
No traffic noise. Price was reasonable, as it is a "modular" budget hotel. Double room reeked of smoke - even the "clean" sheets. We requested both rooms as "non-smoking" but the double room definitely was a very polluted "smoking" room. Better signs are needed, as this hotel had the same signs as another "Balladins" hotel nearby., which was confusing for a foreign tourist. You cannot see the "Blois Nord Villebarou" markings on your hotel.
Comfortable beds, small but adequate clean bathroom, sound proofed room.
good clean budget hotel within easy travelling distance to the town centre
Hotel is part of a huge chain of hotels, similar to the travelodge. Arrived after reception was closed and a lady came to greet us. There is an automatic key machine for out of hours arrivals also. easy to find, good access to motorway.About 5 minutes from the town. Room was clean if a little out of date, the bathroom was similar to those on the overnight ferries - basic. No a/c, and as we were on ground floor we couldn't leave window open. Ok for an overnight stoppover.
free parking, the location is easy to find by car, very quite Bathrooms don't have a real door. In our bathroom there was also a problem with a tap (they knew the problem, but they give us that room alike). After complaining they changed our room and the problem was solved.
The friendly personnel Some pieces of furniture and instalations were not in a good shape
Staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was an outstanding value with wonderful selections. We would stay again
We cant find the address from gps. We have to make several rounds. And they finished at 18o'clock, when we arrived at the hotel at mid night, we have to manage all the things ourselves
Nothing at all, the hotel was dreadful. Blois, on the other hand is a lovely town and we will certainly visit again, only stopping at a different hotel Did not like room with a flimsy (broken) plastic folding door screening the WC, (You certainly get to know travelling companions!) the staff (lone person), the fact that the reception closed at approx. 20:00, I could go on.
