Used this hotel as a break to a long journey. Lovely grounds, clean and spacious rooms, nice pool, bar terrace and very peaceful surroundings. The restaurant only offered one choice of meal and the breakfast was just adequate. Much more could be made of this beautiful place to attract guests - an update to the decor in the guest rooms would help and much more effort could be put into the dining aspects!
Excellent value for money in all respects. Lovely indoor pool. Highly recommended. Nothing
The food was very good
Setting was magic. WiFi conection only in main part of Castle.Extremly slow.Meals a little expensive.
The castel and the sorroundings We booked a room in the hotel which is a castle not a room in another building. We weren't warned from this in our booking.
1. Excellent welcome and provision of information about the hotel, local area and recommendation on the best castles to visit during our short stay. 2. The evening meals were excellent and very good value for money. Probably not the hotels fault but we experienced difficulty settling our account on checkout - 3 different credit/debit cards failed to work. Fortunately, because our reservation was made on the internet our credit card details were available.
There was enough space in the room so it was not cramped for 2 people. It would suit a family with small children. The reception we recevied was poor. There was no real explanation of where the room was or any thought of help. I was travelling with a disabled friend. There is no where to eat a meal in the hotel, but there is a great restraunt in the village - 5 minutes drive away. They also do a good french breakfast.
The beautifull grounds in which the hotel stood in. the friendly staff and how they included myself and my husband in the activities.
Liked the lovely setting and the style of the building. The receptionist, Virginie, was very charming and helpful. The restaurant was closed, which we had not been told until I emailed to book dinner. Only 2 rooms occupied so not worth opening the restaurant. No breakfast available, either. So we had to drive a long distance having had only water!
Loved the location. In a really pretty little village with a Chateau. Hotel rooms were very comfortable and the staff were lovely. Breakfast was excellent. The restaurant is a gourmet one and is quite pricey. In restrospect we would have been better eating outside the hotel - but that was our fault - not theirs!
Easily located just off the motorway for an overnight stop, in a pretty village location. Rooms clean and comfortable. The food was excellent but pricey, a treat for the end of our holiday. A little road noise in rooms at the front of the hotel but this didnt spoil our stay.
It was quiet, and located very conveniently for doing some family business while on holidays. We booked for a Sunday night. After booking got an email advising we would need a code number to get into the hotel as noone would be there when we arrived on the Sunday afternoon. Rang up and got the code -luckily . If we had not been watching our emails, might have arrived not knowing about the "automatic check-in".
Despite our very late arrival, the staff were very accommodating and provided us with a very acceptable meal.
Excellent restaurant, good location close to A20 motorway and a very charming logis Quiet despite being in the centre of the village. This is a very good restaurant with rooms. The restaurant is not expensive as somew reviews suggest. Rooms are fairly basic but very typical of a logis in France offering a room and a good restaurant.
Convenient location everything was old and in poor condition
tranquility non-smoking rooms
Good location near the motorway and easy to find and park. Generally very good but decor in this particular Campanile is a bit tired.
Ease of parking Generally not welcoming.
Great location near the motorway, easy to find and park. Overall very good but the decor is getting a bit tired.
It was an overnight stop whilst on holiday
Visited my Father's grave in Saint-Doulchard
Good location, easy to find, comfortable rooms good value for money
Ease of use and location, good staff and restrauant
We had a gorgeous room in this B&B and the couple who owned it were fantastic - very helpful and genuinely nice people.
Our room was very comfortable and clean. The owner was very friendly and helpful with suggestions for places to visit and recommendations for places to eat. It was a great base to explore the many chateaux of the region. A very enjoyable few days stay. We would certainly return if we were in this region again.
The room was really nice and the people very friendly. We were advised to go to a restaurant in the village only to find it was closed every Monday which was the day we were there. Having said that we would happily return if in the area.
Fairly quiet location, nice gardens. Staff friendly and helpful, offered water for my dog. Good evening meal and large choice for breakfast buffet.
It was very close to the motorway
staff were very helpful and friendly. Although the hotel infra structure is in need of refurbishment Nothing
Very friendly fqmily atmosphere
Food was excellent; the furnishings were a bit old and 'tired'; easy to find I thought the furnishings in the bedroom were jaded and could have been renewed - but for the price I would not complain
Th location was good near the motorway for a overnight stopover. The room was in a poor state of repair and could do with a thorough clean. Would not reccommend this hotel. After seeing the condition of the room we decided to eat elsewhere.
Perfectly adequate - just what we needed
Excellent welcome and efficient presentation of bill when requested. Very close to a péage station, and opposite a supermarket for last-minute purchases. Rooms facing the back extremely quiet, clean and everything worked. Found the quality of food in the restaurant did not match the service, and would not choose to eat there again..
Friendly staff, food portions a bit small. Hotel is a bit grubby and needs repainting and upgrading.
Very convenient for an overnight spot. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was small but adequate. Parking available within the hotel grounds. Excellent and reasonably priced set meal at the hotel's restaurant.
It was in the town the wanted to stay in overnight. Our room had spiders webs in the corners and on the curtains. We did not enjoy thetourist menu for the evening meal and have eaten much better in France. We also ordered a wine but they had run out of bottles and offered us two half bottles for the price of a full bottle !
It was a convenient stop-over on a long journey. Service was very slow when we were desperate for a cold drink after a long journey.
The meal was good. The manager was very offhand and almost had to force himself to be friendly.
We really appreciated the hospitality and kindness of the personnel. The hotel is very quiet with a very nice decoration devoted to movies actors
Quite nice hotel, the dinner at the restaurant was a good surprise with very tasty local food.
Decent hotel,good value None really
Gret location if you are travelling south. The restuarant was brilliant with suprisingly good food and reasonably priced. The previous ocupants of our room were obviously heavy smokers.
Central location and easy to find. Spacious free underground car park. Restaurant attached to the hotel.
Just a nice hotel, friendly personnel
Very clean efficiently run hotel, excellent for an overnight stay. Very overpriced restaurant with very ordinary food.
room good, food good, bed great, good stop off when visiting the area or traveling south.
How did you find the booking process when you made your reservation on the internet? * Cela veut dire quoi??? J'ai répondu exprés n'importe quoi Pourquoi? Ecrivez toutes vos questions en Français y compris suivant, merci.
Conveniently located as an overnight stop on a long journey Very basic
Polite, clean, cheap The room had not enough space. The bathroom was inconvenient even though it was clean
Very good value for stop-overs en route. Clean and comfortable bed. Lack of restaurant at the Campanile next door due to renovation but Buffalo Grill is just three minutes walk away.
Very convenient for our onward journey back to the UK (having been in the South of France). Having a young child, would have preferred a safer ground floor room (or some way of ensuring that our 4 year old could not open the door of the room from the inside).
Nice clean room, private toilet and shower room. Welcoming staff, easy to book online, just wanted a place to stopover during a long journey across France and it fitted the bill very well. Very reasonable price for the room, which could have slept three persons - this would have been very economical indeed. Nice to have wifi too. Despite the notices, someone had been smoking in the shower room. Walls are a bit thin - next door was a family with a noisy child but this wasn't a problem when I wanted to sleep, and in any case I travel with earplugs!
we were in vierzon for a cycle race and used the hotel just to sleep in. it was perfect for this.
easy access, friendly staff, comfortable room ,quiet environment no wake up call available
Ideal no frills overnighting. Breakfast available.
The hotel is perfect when travelling from England to Brive. It is close to the motorway and nicely placed between the two destinations. Although the room is basic, it fulfils all needs for an overnight stay. There is another hotel close by for evening meal, and the breakfast offered is adequate. It would be nice to have an english channel on the TV as being a single traveller I didnt go out for dinner and being in the room all evening was a bit boring. It would have been nice to catch up on news during that time.
Convenient stopover for travellers to the south of France from the UK Smell of cigarette smoke came through bathroom vent
