Pros: We were looking to stay in nor near to Bagnoles de l'orne for one night. This exceeded all of our expectations. Our accommodation was spacious, stylish, spotless, beautiful furnished and finished off with delightful touches, just awaiting to be discovered. The king sized bed was made up with inviting French linen, which both guaranteed and delivered a good night's sleep. The breakfast was, first a feast for the eyes, the table set with crisp white linen and elegant tableware in a stylish dining room. Secondly, breakfast was delicious. Warm brioche French toast, beautifully fresh pain au raisin, local yoghurt, home made conserves and warm multi grain baguette. Fruit juice and freshly made hot drinks of our choice.
Cons: That our commitments meant that we could only stay for one night.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were hoping for a rural location off the beaten track where we could relax and unwind and that's exactly what we got. Linda & Dave were fabulous hosts and it very much felt that we were staying with old friends. We had a home cooked meal one evening and they perfectly catered for one of us being vegetarian. The meal was beautifuly cooked and very reasonably priced. The large double room we stayed in was clean and comfortable and had a useful area with sofas and TV. The velux window overlooks fields and the the owners ducks, chickens & turkeys. There are lots of places where you can walk and we spent a morning exploring Des Gorges de Villiers which is well worth a visit. The local towns La Ferte-Mace (which has a fantastic swimming and boating lake) and Bagnoles-de-l'Orne (with stunning architecture) are beautiful and have lots of restaurants, cafés and boutique style shops. In conclusion if you're looking to relax, experience a traditional French smallholding and be very well looked after during your stay we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lingramiere in Saint-Patrice-du-Désert.

Pros: We had an amazing stay at Linda and Dave's place ! The room was great, clean, the bed was really confortable and we had everything we needed (and even more than what we needed !!). We chose to have dinner there and didn't regret it at all, it was very good ! The breakfast was really good too. We really appreciated the time Linda and Dave took to welcome us and to make us visit their lovely place. For the people doing the "Véloscénie" bike trip : it's a perfect stop between Carrouges and Bagnoles de l'Orne, almost on the bike way. We wish we could have stay a bit longer and we will stay there again for sure if we come back in the region ! Thank you for everything, we really had a good time !

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful food as always
Cons: Bed a little firm for me
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We have never been to this area before and were very surprised at the charm of the surrounding picturesque village and beautiful woodland area. The hotel was a great find very welcoming and lovely to have a heated pool on a 36c day. Set in a forest area the hotel is very charming with nice staff. We will definitely return.
Cons: Staff were very friendly but there was a shortage of them, so we had to go and find them for service.
6.8 Good
Pros: The setting , the gardens and the pool.
Cons: Huge very pretty bathroom but nearly useless cause no hot water. The staff did what they could to help and eventually assigned us another bathroom in another building, which was.nice but kind of defeats the purpose, of having the bathroom ensuite... The management on the other hand were merely apolegetic and did not seem to be that bothered. In a 4* hotel this is hardly understandable and we would have expected a commercial gesture. Too bad. We won t come back.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the special Dinner and it was excellent. Dining on the terrace with the magnificent view of the Lake made 14th July a very special evening.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous view over the lake at dinner. Food was good, room was clean and comfy pool and leisure facilities were nice. What more could you want.
Cons: Some information was not given. IE the deal with bath robes and the procedure at breakfast. Hence we were hunting around for cutlery and we should have taken a prepared tray. The guy was standing there and we made ourselves and room number known, but he didn't say anything. Just a small comment about non communication. The same as the bath robes we noticed many people had and wondered why we didn’t. We eventually read about the deal in the room blurb which by then we couldn't be bothered to go back and get some. Having said that, we appreciated free parking and enjoyed our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming and comfortable hotel with a superb restaurant
Cons: All was goodg
6.3 Good
Pros: The location and the pool. Breakfast had good choices.
Cons: The fact that there wasn’t a residents bar, only a bar in the Restaurant, which didn’t open until 7 pm so no chance of a pre-dinner drink. First Hotel ever where this was not possible. Also ate dinner one night during our stay and my lamb was so over cooked could not eat. Complained but was ignored.

Cons: Attitude of guy on desk at check out. Just didn’t match the pleasantness of the other staff.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is good
Cons: Impersonal staff, and a very long delay at checkout
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A warm friendly welcome. The hotel is superbly situated with beautiful views over the lake and casino with parking at the rear. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really good and the evening meal on the terrace overlooking the lake was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The spa facility is good, although changing rooms could be better, and towels and robes are supplied as required. A good place to stay when visiting Bagnoles.
Cons: Whilst a mini bar in the room would have been welcome there is not much to dislike about the hotel.
6.8 Good
Pros: Breakfast and friendly staff
Cons: Swimming pool, no towels at the pool bit Old fashioned

Pros: Central location and easy parking.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location overlooking fountain at crossroads in centre of this small town. Very little outside noise however. Balcony very useful for relaxing. Plenty restaurants nearby. Lake, casino and spa facilities make this an idyllic base for exploring this part of Normandy.
Cons: Lack of air conditioning made bedroom a little uncomfortable during the hot spell of weather. However left window open and pulled down electric shutter and this helped considerably .
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming hotel in a great location
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The central position was great & there was off road parking although that was limited. But there were plenty of spaces on the roadside. Excellent breakfast with fresh fruit salad & facility to boil your own eggs.T
Cons: The bar area was really a lounge service. The balcony with our room was lovely but needed cleaning. The floor of the lift was never cleaned.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I booked this hotel quite quickly, because it looked nice and had balconies on some rooms. I booked one, and was immediately asked if I'd like to upgrade to a suite. It wasn't much more expensive so I did this. We were amazed when we arrived in Bagnoles, it's a beautiful spa town, not huge but has many restaurants and shops. The whole ambience of the place is lovely. It's an absolute gem. The hotel itself is wonderful, much better than we even imagined. The room was huge, great bathroom with fab shower, lovely bedroom, and a lounge area which was great just to have that extra space. The staff were great, even though neither of us can speak much French at all, they were more than helpful. We had one meal on the first night of our stay and opted for the offer on a 3 course meal. The food was excellent, and the waiting staff were wonderful. We would definitely recommend this hotel, and this town, and will definitely stay here again sometime soon I hope!
Cons: Would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but I believe this isn't something that's done in French hotels at all. We'd be prepared next time though, and this didn't spoil our stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: First class service from Phillipe the owner.
Cons: It is a lovely hotel in a beautiful place but some distance from the larger well known attractions and towns of Normandy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, spotlessly clean, excellent food, very good value
Cons: Nothing, excellent hotel, very friendly staff and excellent food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is second to none. The staff spoke fluent English but kindly let me attempt my French first. They let us park 10 bikes inside the hotel and we had an amazing thunder storm whilst we were there - thanks for that. The resort itself is also very nice.
Cons: All good.

Pros: The hotel has a classic atmosphere, with an extremely kind and helpful staff. The chef’s cooking is very contemporary and of high quality. Creative. Spacious room with a nice balcony. Spacious garden with well kept furniture.
Cons: There is no outdoor seating for lunch or dinner.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: good breakfast good locationall ok
Cons: all ok good resturant
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Made you feel welcome. The hotel was comfortable elegant and typically French. The food in the restaurant was amazing. Best dessert ever! It was in a wonderful location just up from the lake. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Cons: Nothing really. The room was very comfortable and had everything required. I couldn't get the wifi to work but was probably me. The shower was a little tempremental but very hot. The manager / owner was very welcoming and helpful and spoke very good English. The staff were also very welcoming to our dogs which is important to us. Unfotunately there was a very amorous couple in the room above us - but not the hotels fault.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is superb, just about 300m from the centre of Bagnoles, but in a quiet location just across from a large park and small lake. Has all the usual amenities expected of a three star hotel including free parking on site, free Wifi and a restaurant. Breakfast croissants and baguette were the usual excellent French quality, impossible to find in the UK.
Cons: We should have stayed longer than one night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location for us was perfect, as we stayed to attend the annual Brocante, which started right outside. The evening meal food was really nice. Other restaurants in town are a bit limited in having the same menu.
Cons: No kettle or hot drink making facilities in the room. The owner did bring us hot drinks when we asked, but this must be a hassle for them, and in-room facilities would be easier. There is no bar, etc to order drinks on site.
6.8 Good
Pros: the reception was quite nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was quite good. The reception of our dog very nice indeed!
Cons: the bed was too short and the bathroom quite small. the room was rather noisy from the street below
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location and rooms are amazing, comfortable hotel close to a forest.
Cons: Staff could really use a couple of English lessons - they were nice but it was almost impossible to communicate.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely hotel, warm welcome upon our arrival - they were already expecting us. The room (room 8) was really lovely. Very clean with big windows, nice big bath with a shower over it. The location is perfect for walking around the lake or to any of the restaurants in the town. From here we also took trips to Domfront, Fougeres, and Mont st Michel. There is a shop 100yds up the road which was really convenient to grab things for our days out. We ate dinner at the hotel twice and the food was delicious. The wifi was very good for us, you did have to get it to load the login screen each time you connected but once this was done we found it fine.
Cons: Having to leave the key on display at reception seemed a little odd. The room also didnt have a safe so we locked our valuables in the wardrobe instead. Breakfast was nice, but there wasn't much of it. I'd have liked the option of having more than one croissant maybe?
6.8 Good
Pros: The morning staff and excellent cleanliness. Breakfast good quality and plenty of choice.
Cons: Couldn't have dinner unless we paid 98€ pp, couldn't get a drink due to their New Year function. No mention of this in advertising, only that they had a restaurant and winter menu, which wasn't available. Had we known we wouldn't have booked as nowhere else was open. Ended up eating sandwiches in hotel room. Charged an extra 12€ for our toy Yorkshire terrier who is always carried due to her handicap. Room a bit small. Overpriced.

Pros: Clean, comfortable hotel. Very good value
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant owner who was very helpful and provided a lot of information about the area, and a delicious breakfast. Old atmospheric house set in lovely gardens. We walked into the centre of town but it was good to stretch our legs after a day's cycling. Also, by walking we were able to admire the many beautiful and interesting houses.
9.5 Excellent

Pros: Madame la patronne was absolutely charming and the breakfast was excellent
Cons: Long walk to the centre but very good value
8.3 Excellent
Pros: very nice hotel in "belle époque" style. Helpfull owner. A not typicall breakfast.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The area is very pretty
Cons: I hate giving bad reviews, but for the price we paid the lady needs to spend it on getting her rooms sorted it was a rip off . The room needs some attention like new pillows they were badly stained and smelt of sweaty heads I did not check the mattress but I kept getting the odd odour of urine. The lighting could be improved and tea and coffee facilities in the room consisted of 2 packets of herbal tea ,no coffee, no milk, no sugar. We don’t use the tv but this one went out with the ark. I thought the breakfast was a sugar rush with cake, jam, fruit, and a token two slices of bread. Granted the coffee was good but French coffee normally is, I asked for milk and got a jug If sour milk which had been in the jug for some time.

6.3 Good
Pros: Not stayed before but had good food so decided to give it a go - food good as usual but rooms were average and just lacked something although I’m not sure what! Think that I was expecting one of the balcony rooms having booked a superior room but this wasn’t the case which was a shame...
Cons: There was no parking available as there was a large flea market taking place over the whole weekend - this meant a rather arduous tour of the town and streets locally several times. Had my 80 year old mother with us so was hoping for somewhere local to park as she cannot walk very far. I make the same mistake each time and read the headlines on booking.com site stating parking but forget to look further to see if it is public or private for the hotel - can be quite misleading.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: I liked the location and the lunch was tasty. Laure was helpful and pleasant when I spoke to her in the phone for a late check in
Cons: I thought Stephanie was RUDE and unhelpful. The room was very hot and I asked her for a fan and she bluntly said there is none. I messaged Laure and she told me she was off duty and that I could get it at reception. However Stephanie was not accommodating. I found the 1.80 euros tax was something I could have been informed of before. I received an email from Stephanie claiming I left without paying and that she would debit my card right away. That was fine it should have been taken when I paid in full up front! I also did not get a receipt for the 1.80 euros. I will not be recommending or staying there again. Stephanie needs some customer service training!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location close to the town and within easy walk of all facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Clean. Friendly staff.
Cons: All good.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I have visited this Hotel on two previous occasions. It is situated in the middle of this small and classy spa town, within easy reach of the attractions. The Hotel has a lift, therefore provides easy access to all rooms for the disabled. The bedrooms are very clean, and comfortable and the Restaurant inside and outside provides good food at a reasonable price. The service provided is excellent and professional. Nothing is too much trouble.
Cons: There is no private car parking at this Hotel. This is not a criticism. The situation of the building does not provide for it. However there is ample public parking ,which is free, on the street directly outside the building. You just have to plan your arrival. Lunchtimes can be busy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: room with balcony
Cons: breakfast rather expensive for the range of food on offer
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful and a lovely shop
Cons: It was misleading to say free parking in the details as we had too park on the main road and were not expecting to

Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing

4.3 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Owner was not helpful at all, in fact she was very rude. No Airconditioning in the rooms but advertised they had, when questioned we were told to open the window. Beds very small and shower even smaller. Didn’t bother with breakfast after all that had happened.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect for us - very quiet but within a short driving distance to Bagnoles de l'Orne. The beds were very comfortable and the room was perfectly clean. Housekeeping was good.
Cons: We had some trouble locking the room as the lock seemed to be faulty, and it would have been nice to have had more facilities in the room, such as a kettle and coffee/tea provisions - but we accept that this is not the French way of doing things.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very quiet the views where very good the food very good and value for money free parking will be back
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The lift was much appreciated although the steps up to the hotel would make it difficult for people with disabilities.
Cons: The shower was the worst I've come across in France. A tiny corner cubicle and the water came out without any real power. The food and wine were disappointing.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good value. Nearby restaurants
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good

4.5 Okay
Pros: Good location with private albeit limited parking.
Cons: Air conditioning did not work, balcony table & chairs were filthy. We ate breakfast locally nearby which was very nice. Very poor value for money. This was our third visit and we will not be staying again.
9.3 Excellent
Cons: There was no WIFI in the room. We could only get connected when we stand in the corridor. But all the rest of our stay was excellent!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely welcome. Very clean rooms. Great position.
Cons: Toiletries would of been good and maybe a bigger bath towel
9.5 Excellent
Pros: An attractive hotel with lots of character. Bedrooms beautifully decorated - each with a very individual style and colour scheme. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent meal in hotel restaurant with very good vegetarian option.
Cons: Nothing could have been better. A wonderful hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Junior suite - unusual configuration with small sitting area, large and splendid bathroom. But spacious overall. Location on street but not noisy and on-street parking easy.
Cons: Mixture of the renovated and the traditional - being on shabby in places
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient. Very enjoyable dinner. Parking on site but initially I was not given clear instructions on how to find it....it is “round the back “.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The food was very good
Cons: The Wifi was poor. It only connected for 5 minutes at a time
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The location is great and a very pretty village. The Hotel was grotty outside but nicely decorated inside the main communal areas with fee car parking. The room was large and well appointed with a good bathroom. We thought the town would have lots of choice for eating out at night but alas we were very disappointed as when we got there everything was shut !
Cons: The room we were in was in an old stable block which had been converted ... nice I hear you say ... sadly no as it was up an outside rickety, rotten wooden stair case with no air conditioning and no windows that could be opened only a pvc door which created security issues. The beds are the worst I have ever slept in it was like lying on concrete when asked if it could be changed it was no and no rooms available to swop. Because of the bed we cut our holiday short from 3 nights to 2 but we could not get a refund for our last night, for which we had paid 85 euros, on the grounds of we had booked for 3 night via booking.com so the booking could only be amended via that site and we were now too late. We questioned this as surely the hotel has discression on this as their normal walk in off the street tariff was 85 euros so not price advantage via a booking site ? but no they would not budge. So the fact that we could not sleep and all the restaurants were shut at night we did not fancy the hotel restaurant as it was very expensive and the public areas were constantly covered in flies kind of put us off. The whole place is run by 2 men who do everything from waiter to reception so when the coffee machine kept breaking down in the morning it was chaos ! Have no idea why everything in town was closed but a guy in the hotel it was due to local businesses having their holidays before the summer rush ! So what was open was poor quality and over priced.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We liked the room, the location in the town, the staff who were courteous and helpful and friendly. The dinner in the restaurant was also of good quality.
Cons: Sadly the wifi was very poor - slow and with constant dropouts. This was really the only downside to our stay.
5.0 Okay
Pros: this property is in the center of town .Quite good parking on site
Cons: The size of the rooms ,room 23 is very small not a double room .Carpet dirty in both our rooms .Asked for quiet rooms were given rooms facing the road. There is a small lift but you still have to go up a spiral staircase.

6.3 Good
Pros: Ok
Cons: I had to wait for four hours before the hotel opened even though they advertise the check-in is from 7.30 am!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: very warm welcome, and very accodomoating people (there was a triathlon race organized next to the hotel, the tenant graciously proposed to store all the bikes inside to keep their equipment safe)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good value, room basic but large, well appointed and clean.
Cons: Mattress appeared too big for bed creating raised sides and dip in middle.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The location was perfect for us. Its a shame this "hotel" is so awful because its in a really lovely town and the other local people we met are very nice. There is a good bar next door where you can get a friendly welcome and a basic breakfast as this "hotel" doesn't provide this service.
Cons: They were closed for the two days we were there, so no breakfast. Had to ring to get access, spoke to a man and while trying to input a code that didn't work he put the phone down on us. Rang back for a second time and spoke to a woman who also put the phone down on us, was just about to ring for a third time and we got a text with a code and room number. Found the room and the key was in the door. We discovered no cover on the duvet so we had to take that off and the sheets seemed clean enough so we just slept under them. There are no plugs in the bathroom in either the sink or the bath, so we bought one. The view out of the window was accompanied with a previous guests socks that were strew outside. On departure we briefly met a man who demanded payment and denied all knowledge of having our credit card details on booking.com. It would have been nicer if anyone at any point would have asked how our stay was??!! We would have been happy to discuss this rather than give them constructive feedback on here.
