Pros: The castle is maintained very well, the owner was helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was good with excellent cheese and jam. That they have a young Basset made our stay there even better.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really good family suite nestled on top floor of chateau....kids loved their room and huge play area. Chateau is beautifully situated and we took advantage of free bikes to do a long bike ride in the morning - this was all on tracks next to chateau and hardly saw a car the whole time! Really yummy breakfast too!
Cons: All good from us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful stay in a beautiful old Chateau with lots of Charme and personality! We arrived late for a stop-over and our wonderful hosts served us a delicious light diner! Very warm and charming people-we will definitely come back and recommend this place 100%!
Cons: Everything was Excellent!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing experience to stay in the real French chateau with history and traditions which is being carefully managed by its proprietors - the most charming and welcoming couple Claudine and Emmanuel and to be treated like a family friend. I came with my parents and we all agreed after that this trip would be also one of the dearest memories to our family. The chateau and the area around is beautiful, all the furniture and decoration - traditional and adorable, tarte tatin made by Claudine - mmm... unforgettable))) Merci! Hope to come again) Natalia
Cons: Nothing could be better
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts Claudine and her family were so helpful, went out of their way to help us when we needed a taxi in a pinch. Thank you so much!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is by far one of the best - if not the best - remote property we had ever stayed in France, and it says a lot as we annually traveling all across rural France in the past 20-30 years. The solitude is unmatched. The feel of history adds an extra dimension to the travel, as you are staying in the authentically original mansion dated back at least five centuries (and owned all these years by the same family). The property is an ideal location for nature lovers. Hosts are really friendly and enjoyable to chit-chat with. Breakfast is excellent, coffee is good and the choice of dishes is very wide on French standards.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: High class maison d’hote
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful Chateau! Fantastic property, relaxing backyard and surrounding area was gorgeous. Very close to Chateau Chambord. Claudine and Emmanuel were so welcoming and friendly. Also, dinner both nights was absolutely delicious!!!!

Cons: There was nothing to better it.
7.0 Good
Pros: Environment, beautiful garden, remote private cottages.
Cons: Unfortunately not so hygienic, lots of dust and cobwebs (extremely in the shower). Cottages nice decorated, slightly over priced. Great owners, but unfortunaly they only speak some English words. Sorry for not having a proper conversation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: House was adorable with a huge eat-in kitchen where meals were served. Here they served dinner, which we unfortunately missed, as well as breakfast. We arrived late but were immediately greeted with glasses of wine in the kitchen. Everyone was so friendly and engaging, without being intrusive. We sat outside on the patio socializing with the other guests into late in the evening, enjoying the beautiful backyard. In the morning we were greeted by a fabulous breakfast. The owner/chef asked us the previous evening whether we wanted a sweet or salty breakfast, so my husband picked salty, I chose sweet and we shared. Everything was delicious! We truly felt at home. Wholeheartedly recommend for everyone.
Cons: Bed pillows were too small and a bit uncomfortable, but this is common in many European bed & breakfasts.

Pros: Everything. The room was large and very comfortable. The owner and staff were very attentive without being over bearing. It was clear that their sole commitment was to ensure we had a pleasant stay. This is an aspect which several hotels, whether through understaffing or bad management, fail to achieve. We had our main meal at the hotel which was excellent. The breakfast in the morning was an individual serving of simply everything you would wish for.

Pros: Comfortable bed. Huge bathroom with a good shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very welcoming and her ability to speak English helped given our French is not as good as we would like. The location, albeit a little remote, was ideal to use as our base for sightseeing whilst in the area.
Cons: Would have been nice to know in advance that options to eat out were more limited than we had anticipated.

Pros: Very quiet rural location - perfect place for families with young outdoorsy kids. Free wine at dinner, which is always a winner!

10.0 Excellent
Cons: Such a lovely place in the middle of the forest, but a short walk to the village. My daughter and I loved it.

Pros: Nature. Room condition.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Diane de Poitiers room is quiet, spacious with large bathroom. Pool was welcome relief during the 2019 European Heatwave. Evening meal and wine were delicious. Hotel is close to Chateau de Chambord.
Cons: Selection of breakfast items could have included more protein options, such as hard-boiled eggs or meat; it was mostly carbohydrates and dairy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner was lovely and explained everything well in English. It is a very peaceful location with access to lots of activities if wanted including table tennis, tennis, swimming pool, bicycles etc. We didn’t utilise any of this on our trip. There is a lovely shop on site with local information and products. The hostess sold us discounted tickets for the Chateau which was great. The room was large and very clean. Plenty of parking.
Cons: No TV or tea/coffee making facilities in the individual rooms, but this was available in communal spaces, our personal preference is in the room. The hostess made restaurant recommendations which was great however due to our late arrival everywhere was either booked or closed, as a note book in advance. This is no reflection on the hotel just a piece of advice.

Pros: Very lovely Family style Bed & Breakfast! Owner was very helpful and welcoming! Breakfast was amazing and delicious! Location was a little part of paradise!
Cons: Having to leave

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. Room full of character and the hosts charming and polite. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a typical French hotel
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel itself was lovely but unfortunately as the restaurant was closed we had to eat at a nearby restaurant as suggested by the proprietor. It was good honest food and a really nice environment. It was difficult to fully judge the hotel itself as we appeared to be the only guests on that particular night so perhaps the attention to detail was not all it might have been had the hotel been a bit busier.
Cons: We did feel a bit as though we were intruding into their personal time/space for the reasons above
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable small hotel in a small quiet village. Great restaurant, we were not that hungry having had a late lunch, but the tastes and the portions were just right!
Cons: It was very hot at night but we didn’t want to open the windows to cool down and let the insects in.

Pros: Whilst the accommodation had all or most of what was advertised it was perhaps a little misleading. eg the TV was in the lounge.
Cons: The drinks making facilities were downstairs and we were uncertain if we could use them other than at meal times. the breakfast was very basic consisting of one French stick per couple plus a croissant apiece. There was butter and a selection of jams. Tea and coffee was provided but that was it. The storage box at the bottom of the bed was falling apart and threatened to collapse at any moment.
