Pros: Very friendly host. Lots of thoughtful details. Very child friendly. 5 minutes walk from the beach.
Pros: We liked the little house and how it is decorated. The apple jam for breakfast was delicious!
Pros: I liked the paintings and the stlye of this holiday cottage. The beach is so empty and huge.
Cons: No wifi or phone connectivity. Forgetabout the TV I looked at over 100 channels all in german. Mt booking said breakfast included and I shouldve read the small print which said not if you are there for 2 nights. Only decaf coffee.
Pros: Lovely little house in the owners garden. Perfect location for the beach at Denneville and easy to get to the lovely port of Portbail. Have stayed twice now and will be back. Great breakfast brought to you by the owner in the morning too
Pros: Very friendly host, Franck an made our stay very relaxing and good fun. The accomodation was a surprise and we loved the cottage-chalet very much with all facilities at hand.Good position near the beach. We plan to go back in the summer.
Pros: Nice wood cabin in Normandy
Pros: Nice house where to stay for a week-end or holidays! Very clean and quiet, bed very confortable. Franck is a very nice host who prepare you a delicious breakfast.
Pros: Breakfast was lovely and fresh Lovely location very near the beach Would be great for family on a budget
Cons: Lots of flies.... kept appearing even after we thought we killed them all Bed a little hard and bed pillows not supportive enough for me Not all Windows had privacy screens
Pros: Very, very friendly host. The house was very clean. A loveley and very quiet place to stay, but still not far away from the beach and the village center (bakery, small grocery store). Perfect for a stay with a dog (garden with fence around the house). Great French breakfast freshly made by the host every day. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Normandy!
Pros: The room was very nicely presented, the hosts were very welcoming, even the cat Larry said hello. A very calm and peaceful place. The breakfast was worth every penny and highly recommended and presented beautifully on a tray outside - a perfect way to start the day. We cannot recommend this Gite highly enough and plan to revisit and hopefully for a longer stay. Bandine restaurant in Creances le Plage is worth a visit, very French and friendly too.
Pros: Nicely updated separate guest wing in an old country home of character. Beautiful natural setting. Rooms were spacious and nicely decorated; accommodations clean; kitchen well stocked. Hosts were friendly and helpful, but gave us our space. They brought fresh bread and pastry in the morning for breakfast.
Cons: The property was spacious, but spread over three floors. The stairs to the third floor bedroom were steep with a narrow tread, which could be a problem for some guests. A little difficult with luggage. The only bathroom is on the third floor, in the bedroom - not attached, but in. A wooden screen shields the facilities. Not a necessarily a problem, but guests need to know.

Pros: Great breakfast. Beautiful rooms that are tastefully decorated. The owner can prepare a great dinner.
Cons: The rooms are located in the house, split by the family’s living room. The owner doesn’t really make you feel like you are welcome to use it. We felt a bit awkward in their place throughout our stay.
Pros: Excellent breakfast and very helpful host.
Pros: Very remote and calm.
Pros: Excellence Hostess in Nathalie nothing was to much trouble. Food great
When you stay at Aux 13 Arches in Portbail, you'll be next to a golf course and 10 minutes by car from Barneville Beach. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and luggage storage.
Pros: The location was great, very nice apartment and great breakfast.
Cons: Room in the roof with difficult access. No handrail up narrow winding staircase. No soap, worn and broken surface to wash badin area. Very poor interaction with staff and management. Expensive for standard. We have stayed in this hotel once before and at its self catering flats 3 times but feel that the standards have dropped.
Pros: Breakfast and the location
Cons: Restaurant closed and the nearest on a rip-off, poor food at top dollar
Pros: The room was small but very tastfully furnished. The bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly
Cons: There weren't enough window coverings to block out the light. It was also not private because of this.
Pros: Very good value breakfast @ 9 euros.Location and friendly staff
Cons: On our arriva, had to telephone to have someone let us enter. Rubbish in the stairway for 2 days.
Pros: The accommodation and Breakfast was excellent. Town centre location a bonus as restaurants were close at hand. The menu at the hotel also looked very good but not enough time to sample it.
Cons: Nothing not to like.
Pros: Our apartment was spacious and comfortable - we declined breakfast in the hotel as we were able to self cater. However, we did have supper our first night which was excellent.
Cons: Nothing in particular.
Pros: Have stayed here 3 times now. Always same apartment, Dune 1. Super
Cons: Service in restaurant a little slow..
Cons: Booked two rooms. They were separate buildings. As I was traveling with small children we were offered the option to consolidate in one room. They didn’t mention that they would fully charge us for both rooms. This was not booking.com but the local decision. I would not stay here again.

Pros: Jan gave us a very warm welcome, and was very accommodating. She explained what was available in the area, where to find it, and suggested a restaurant, Le Normandy, which was amazing. Although there are no facilities in the room, Jan is quite happy to make a cup of tea when required.
Cons: Fortunately we were the only guests, because there is only one bathroom. During the night my wife was poorly, which would have been hugely embarrassing, if other families had needed the bathroom. It would have been nice to include cereal for breakfast, but the croissants and french bread were good.
Pros: In the lovely countryside with lovely welcoming owner and nice fresh breakfast.
Pros: The area where the property is located is pretty and quiet. There were plenty of croissants, jams, ect... at breakfast The beds are very comfy, the rooms & bathroom very clean, the linen smell fresh.
Cons: You know from the start that it is a shared bathroom so don't choose this B&B if you want your own bathroom. Some might find the decor outdated but this is of no importance, it is very clean & comfy!
Pros: A quintessential French chateaux - cosy and old and full of character. Jan was a fantastic host, welcoming from the very start and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble, and even drove us to a nearby town as we were cycling so didn't have a car to head out for dinner. Really can't beat this on value for money, and the views from our room over the surrounding hills and meadows were just beautiful. Breakfast was a simple traditional French spread, croissants, coffee, jam and fresh baguettes, just what we needed to fuel our cycle for the day.
Pros: As I was without a car the owner was very kind to drive me into the village when needed, for which I paid her. Very helpful indeed.
Pros: Lovely breakfast in the morning. Clean shared bathroom which we had to ourselves!
Pros: Super friendly staff. Loved Jan. Very quiet & peaceful stay. Loved the homemade jams & croissants.
8.4 Excellent (103 reviews)
See hotel page With hospitality, warmth, simplicity and charm, La Ferme des Mares, The Originals Relais is just like its owners, Mike and Sonia. Here at this former farm in Saint-Germain-sur-Ay, around thirty kilometres from Coutances, youll find 10 bespoke bedrooms, a restaurant serving local cuisine, and 2 reception rooms. For nature-lovers, or reunions between friends or family out in the Normandy countryside, this hotel is the stuff that dreams are made of.
Pros: Beautiful renovated farm - homey and spacious and lovely all at once
Cons: There are no shops / restaurants nearby, but the hotel offers delicious meals so it's not a problem
Pros: The beautifully styled dining room and the exquisite food and service
Pros: The owner gave us an excellent tip for a walk and a swim. The location was absolutely gorgeous. Roses. Quiet.
Cons: Maybe breakfast could include some fruit salad?
Pros: I want to say this was an old country house. Herds of sheep on the nearby marsh. Quiet little village. I would say a romantic inn, but I was with my daughter, and thus... Quaint, clean, nice, quiet, beautiful. I think it was in the middle of nowhere. We got an apartment? Two bedrooms each with a huge bed. Tub and sink in another room, toilet wc in another room, and a hallway to connect it all. The spaciousness was nice, but the quaintness? was what made this fantastic. Being in the US, I probably won't ever get to go back, but if I lived in Paris, I might make this an annual retreat with my wife. My 19 yo daughter loved the wildlife, and the livestock nearby. I didn't visit the beach that was nearby. I stayed here after visiting the Normandy beaches and prior going to Mont Saint Michel. It was perfect.
Cons: Sign in lobby says were are happy to greet our guests in both French and English. The clerk did not speak english, but my daughter who was with me spoke enough french. But don't let this deter you, another of the staff was a across the way, this clerk did go consult her about one question, who may have spoken fantastic english, but we managed. I wish this place was close to where I live so I could take my wife there.
Pros: Old converted farm buildings in a lovely rural setting. Very Spacious bedroom with sofa area.
Cons: Bathroom had a bath, but no overhead shower. Lack of choice on menu.
Pros: We had a fabulous stay at this hotel. The hosts were very friendly and offered us a free double upgrade which was very much appreciated. The room was huge and the bed was very comfy. The evening meal was absolutely delicious. It was a set menu and I am usually a fussy eater but I gave everything a try and really enjoyed it all. The hotel provides quiet and calm atmosphere; perfect for our romantic weekend away. We had a lovely stroll through the surrounding fields and enjoyed sitting by the lake, watching the ducks. Breakfast was also very nice, especially the freshly baked breads and croissants. Thank you very much.
Pros: Good value accommodation and wonderful food.
Cons: No complaints.
Pros: This is a beautiful hotel in a lovely location. Perfect for a getaway to chill and relax. Location is rural so all you can do is relax and unwind.
Pros: Really comfortable family room with two different bedrooms, big a clean bathroom unfortunately with the bath and no shower. Perfect for a family, well furnished and beautiful.
Cons: The restaurant place is cosy, but the food normal and ‘classic’ French (not linked to the Normandy territory), the service super super super slow (about 3 hours for a menu!)
Pros: The hotel has a nice restaurant. Good value for money.
Cons: The hotel advertises with a park of two acres. In reality there are only two small seating areas which are quite messy. The rest of the areas is used for other purposes. Like growing vegetables and dupping garbage.
With a stay at Brit Hotel La Cote Des Havres in Lessay, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Lessay Raceway and Aerodrome and Corps de Garde of Saint-Germain-sur-Ay. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: A nice clean and comfortable hotel with secure and convenient parking. The restaurant was reasonably priced.
Cons: The staff were efficient and polite but not overly friendly, a smile costs nothing.
Pros: We took a family trip and booked three rooms based on the location and desciption on booking.com. It was as it was described ... thank goodness! We arrived after-hours but the process for check-in and obtaining the keys to our rooms was clearly explained. The staff was extremely helpful and most pleasant and spoke English well. The property was clean and located in a small town but accessible by car to beautiful Nomandie. Breakfast was included and had everything we wanted. There was also a nice seating area outside to enjoy the beautiful weather during our stay. Rooms were well appointed, the beds were comfortable and we loved the electronic blackout shades!! We highly recommend this property.
Cons: There is no elevator but there are only two floors .... so we were okay.
Pros: Nice rooms good breakfast
Cons: When we arrived the hotel was close. Ascension day in France. Why no warning about this from booking .com

Pros: Betty Oheix is a very nice lady!
Pros: It was a bargain! Cheap and cheerful!
Pros: Tremendous value! Charming location, charming town, very enjoyable restaurant on the location of the inn. I thoroughly recommend this place. Yes, the shared toilet is down the hall, and its not 5 star accommodations, but it is so worth it for the money we paid.
Cons: The hostess spoke English, but the rest of the employees didn't seem to very well. No problem, its all part of the joy of traveling in another country. Seriously, I recommend staying here.
Pros: Everything was great

Cons: Great Staff!!!!Thank you!!!!
Pros: Location with regards to town centre was excellent, but traffic noise through the night meant little sleep.
Cons: Room was quirky - supposed to be ensuite but had toilet and shower in middle of an adjoining single room right by the window onto the street.
Pros: Friendly owners, good restaurant, good location
Pros: Authentic little hotel with great restaurant and fantastic small town
Pros: very good
Cons: toilet and shower in second bedroom
Pros: Good value for money
Pros: Very good price. Unpretentious with nice friendly staff.
Cons: Limited ensuite and a curtain separating the loo from the bedroom wasn't ideal.
Cons: Steak could have been better very old cow I think
Pros: Location Cost & Breakfast
Cons: Shared toilet
Pros: It was authentic & atmospheric with excellent food making for a well run local establishment in a pleasant market town
Cons: It was noisy but that was to be expected & the en suite bathroom could be improved upon.
