Cons: Nothing!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super-friendly welcome in a fantastic location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Simply perfect! Stunning location and the loveliest of people who run the place. Cannot fault the place.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The host call their house a "luxury bed & breakfast" - and that's what it is. We had two large and elegant furnished rooms with generous bathrooms, and a very good breakfast. La Posada del Torcal is not a bargain, but worth every Euro.
Cons: The (optional) dinner is delicious, but it is not a deal if you are hungry.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The views at the property were spectacular. Sunrise to sunset were beautiful and the night sky came to life, glistened full with stars. Owners were lovely and very welcoming, they even upgraded our room for free which was so nice. Bed and room were fab and very romantic. Must say the breakfast was incredible - great selection and lots of it!
Cons: We loved everything
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing!! It was all perfect:)

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The decor is imaginative Great breakfast
Cons: Dinner was not available. although given as a service on the bookings entry Reviewers had complimented the dinners and the entry confirmed that the restaurant was open on Wednesday - the night we stayed, We remonstrated with the owners to no avail. We had to take a taxi to an indifferent meal
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building, and really nice room.Good and refined dinner.
Cons: The temperature was 16 degrees in the room on arrival (what was the point of asking for time?).You would expect a luxury room to be warm.Do not go for the wine list, which is disappointingly unattractive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gerina (hope its correct) and Mark have built an awesome place and were perfect hosts. The hotel is decorated tastefully and very clean. Mark is a superb chef. Extra wishes have never been problems. We would not leave this wonderful place and can completely recommend it. Thanks a lot! Jana & Henrik

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect : very nice and helpful staff, top accommodation and amenities, excellent food, very nice spa, relaxing atmosphere in and around the hotel.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious rooms, lovely buffet breakfast with lots of choice. Comfortable lounge to relax in. Wonderful views from terrace.
Cons: Additional costs to use leisure facilities, if all 4 of us had chosen to use them on each of our 7 days holiday it would have added a considerable amount to our holiday. While the views from the hotel were fabulous,it was very remote, nearest town about 25 minutes drive down hilly roads. Great for walkers and cyclists probably, but maybe not so for anyone wanting to discover more of Andalucia and its cities. However, it was our choice to stay but 7 nights was too long. Would stay again but for 3 nights max.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Setting, style and food of the hotel excellent
Cons: To be charged over 13 euros per person for each 3 hour use of the pool, gym and saunna was appalling and was not including in booking information. Not acceptable.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location with a beautiful view
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Without a doubt the best place we stayed at in andalusia. The drive to the hotel itself is not to be missed. Make sure to follow the sign to the hotel 6km ahead. The surround and the garden of the hotel is a reflection of Edens garden in spring time. The staff er very friendly and helpful. The restaurant uses own organic crops. All supplies in the rooms are environmental friendly and rooms are very clean with a personal touch. On top of all these, we were upgraded to their superior room with no extra cost. Definitely the best stay and our only regret is that we were not able to stay longer due to our trip plans. Thank to hotel staff for a wonderful stay. We will not forget this place and have already recommended it to friends and family.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely helpful staff who let us use the hotel facilities after checkout for the whole afternoon as we had an evening flight out of Malaga. Food excellent, room excellent, location and views excellent.
Cons: Spa shower was under repair so not able to use.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely time. Added bonus was that they have rooms that take pets. Our dog loved running on their green grass and we enjoyed our swim in their salt water pool. What a lovely garden they have. The food was great too, though not cheap, I think it was reasonable considering its location. Shame I was too full to try their desert. Staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable too.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, food, size of the room
Cons: A liitle too expensive
7.5 Good
Pros: The steak was cooked to perfection.
Cons: Top of a mountain, difficult access,no complimentary water.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy walking access to the city but just out of the city frenzy opposite a lovely green space.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Cosy country house room with charming decoration. Near to El Chorro (20 min drive with car). Good heater in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Up in the hills, beautiful views and a chalet for a room. Great facilities. Thoughtfully decorated for chill out ambience. Cosy bar and nice pool. It's wonderfully remote, though close to the village and easy to find. Food was excellent. Very friendly.
4.5 Okay
Cons: Having been shown our room(in a separate building) we decided not to stay, we felt the room was very basic and small. To us, the whole atmosphere of the place was unappealing (except for splendid views). I do not think we are difficult customers (my reviews are typically in the "9s"), but I do accept that in this case we seem to be out of step with other reviewers. I feel the place is probably great for back-packers or a group of bikers, but not suitable for a retired couple looking for a relaxing break.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Goats drinking from the pool.... Very clean , we all slept really well
Cons: All good
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice and calm place.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very lovely and helpful staff, they provided us with a kettle to boil some tea although it had not been part of the deal. The cleanliness is outstanding. The location quiet and with a nice view on the nearby villages. That little town is very serene and with local vibe, it doesn't seem they receive many toursist. Also a good location to sleep before entering el Chorro first thing in the morning.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice elderly couple run it who are very helpful. Room was fine and I like that there is one good restaurant about a 10 minute walk away so very convenient if you don't have transport like me. It's located at the top of the town and pretty good for getting back on the GR7 walking route.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was plain but adequate and everything worked including heating from the reverse cycle air conditioner.
Cons: The hostal is on the edge of town up a steep hill.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were comfortable and well equipped; simple but very clean and nice. The best part was the value of the rooms and the welcoming and helpful gentleman at the front desk who went so far as to speak easy to understand Spanish and hurried to hold open the door for us with a friendly smile. A great choice to use for a night before walking the Caminito del Rey.
Cons: Nothing...a full selection of soaps was provided, tv, a/c. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, and markets in town to find food to eat. Nice views and the town is pleasant and friendly.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice hostal with very kind staff and nice view. They started heating before our arrival.
Cons: The restaurant didn ´t work. It was not easy to find anything to eat in the whole town.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner was really helpful and made us very welcome. The hotel was spotless and great value for money.

Rincon Del Torcal - Villanueva de la Concepcion - Building

8.6 Excellent (123 reviews)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful owner. Lucky to have the house to ourselves during our stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed, friendly greeting by our host Kate, great ready to have breakfast on our own when we were ready to it!
Cons: Non of the heaters were working - cold rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location. Best bed we had during our stay in Spain. Good breakfast. Friendly host
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful owner, Nice living room (normaly shared with other guest, but we were the only guests), We had the room to the back of the House, wich is much quiter.
Cons: The Weather was very bad and cold. For this, the owner is not responsible
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I especially liked Kate, our host. She left us an ample breakfast every morning and was very caring. She even gave us a lemon and some limequats from her garden for our evening G&Ts. Her husband, Bill, enjoys gardening and walking their dog. We learnt a lot from him. The apartment has two beautifully decorated bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en suite) a large living room at the front and a quiet kitchen at the back with a small table for drinking an early morning coffee without disturbing the rest of the house. There are lots of books to read and some brochures for local sight seeing. Parking is free and there is space at the side of the building. The small, but well stocked, local supermarket (Dia) is very close by. We ate a wonderful lunch at El Rincon de la Villa situated at the end of the town. There are some interesting local shops in the various squares below the main street and there is a local market once a week. El Torcal (the national park) is within easy driving distance. The scenery is stunning. The visitors centre has a tiny gift shop, a display of local geology and a small restaurant serving snacks, salads, drinks and ice-creams. The relatively large town of Antiquera is in the direction of El Torcal but several kilometres further on and is well worth a visit (the site for the dolmens is usually closed on Mondays). In the other direction, smaller towns near to Villanueva de la Concepcion are La Higuera and La Joya.
Cons: There was a small balcony at the front but it was not big enough to sit out. However, you could open the full length window and watch the world go by.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kate and Bill are most gracious hosts, the guest house is well kept and very comfortable. Great location for visiting El Torcal! ..many thanks for the lovely visit, Vicki, Canada
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a comfy bed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were given a lovely welcome. There was a spacious sitting room with a lovely view, which we shared with only one other couple as the property only has 2 bedrooms. Kate gave us very good advice about which restaurants were open and what type of food they served.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The warm and friendly greeting from our hostess and the excellent local knowledge she provided. The bed was extremely comfortable and the whole room beautifully furnished. Nice private bathroom, loads of hot water. A well equipped kitchen and comfy living area shared with just one other couple. Generous supplies for making tea or coffee and a fabulous breakfast. We wished we could have stayed longer in this lovely home away from home. Best B&B we've stayed in.
Cons: Nothing negative to say.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Plenty of space as other bedroom was not in use. Perfect for two couples or if only one room let. Generous breakfast. Very self contained with own entrance. Car parking good. Kitchen well equipped. Supermarket nearby. English owner. Few miles to El Torcal. 45 mins to Malaga.
Cons: In January it was cold. Radiators did not work properly. Despite speaking Spanish and asking owner, other locals and in town hall we failed to find a restaurant open in the evening serving more than tapas. No tv. No hairdryer.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful and calm. Very big common place with pool outside
Cons: I would have liked more info on how to enter the place on booking beforehand (we needed to call when arriving so that the host comes open us)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: nice room and good breakfast
Cons: nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was very cosy and comfortable and the pool area was very nice. it felt very quiet and nice and the decoration was also pleasant. The location is in a very nice local village and there is a great place for tapas or dinner in the main square. Great location in beautiful surroundings - very authentic! But remember it is a village so has limited services.
Cons: There is no-one at the property so you have to call them for someone to come and let you in, which was straightforward and quick but perhaps should be explained in the advert. Also the person only spoke Spanish which wasn't a problem but could be if you needed some particular help with something. We couldn't find any options for Breakfast in this village on a Saturday, it took around 20-25min drive to get to the nearest town for breakfast or you have to bring your own breakfast! Unfortunately our room smelt slightly of cigarette smoke which was unexpected - I would have thought they could have used some air freshener or something to try to get rid of it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is very peculiar, it has its own enchantment. Everything was very clear and comfortable. The staff is really really nice, kind and caring. I will definitely recommend.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Was in a quiet village near El Torcal. It had a beautiful court yard with a pool. Was able to sit and enjoy the sun. There is a market across the street and a great bar/restaurant around the corner.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We arrived late afternoon - we visited Torcal de Antequera first, had to call the lady to meet us with the key. She arrived quickly. Showed us around, and we were on our own. The town is little, not much to do, but easy to get to interesting sites to see. Torcal is one of them. We at at a restaurante right near the hotel that had EXCELLENT food and was not too expensive. Other than that, not much to do in town. The pool area was nice, but it was too cold to use. The rooms all very nice, clean and well decorated. Cozy, confortable. Recently updated.
Cons: When we arrived, we were shown around, we opted not to have breakfast, but we did have an eating area, and frige. In the morning when we decided to eat some cereals we had brought, we realized that there was in fact a fridge, coffe machine, microwave, but there were not cups, bowls, plates, knifs, forks or spoons... we had to go find somewhere else to eat breakfast. We ate in the bar right next door (two adults and 3 kids)
6.8 Good
Pros: Small hotel in a small town; nice patio. Well situated for excursions.
Cons: The air-condition/heater was noisy and a bit difficult to operate. In cold/warm weather you have the choice between noise or unpleasant temperatures.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location, size of room and decor.

The bathrooms are new and comfortable without unnecessary features. The prosperous garden offers an aromatic scent of thyme and rosemary. The bar down the road provides good wine and delicious tapas at a low price and in a friendly rural atmosphere.
