Gorgeous rooms, excellent staff, delicious food. Reasonable prices in the restaurant, fabulous breakfast, tasteful decor. Loved it.
visit the places we used to stay on vacations 30 years ago
Excellent restaurant at very reasonable prices; fabulous breakfast; spacious room. Should there be anything to criticise it would be the restaurant being close sundays and mondays, whilst the advice to go elsewhere being poor.
Great room- tasteful decour, spotless, comfortable. The restaurant was closed despite us checking in advance that it would be open. Since the hotel is miles from town and we didn't have a car, this wasn't good. We got a taxi into Olot, but we struggled to get one back. It added 50EUR to our costs. Wouldn't stay there again.
Fierce air con and smell of local pig farm; grossly expensive and few facilities.
We like very much the desing of the rooms, the small details the have. The breackfast is very good. And is very easy to find it.
Design of the rooms and overall appearance of the hotel is excellent. Staff was very professional and friendly. Breakfast excellent, well worth the money. Prices at the restaurant very good. Currently there is a lot of construction going on around which is not imputable to the hotel staff, of course, but it affects the experience.
Fabulous location and great facilties. The restaurant was outstanding and reasonably priced for the quality. Good storage for our bikes. Staff were extremely helpful and well trained. Breakfast was a bit of a let down - carton orange juice, some of fruit was way past its best . No one on reception on arrival - we had to wait over half an hour to check in
To our surprise the room are small apartments with a small kitchen, bedroom, bath room and livingroom. Rooms are clean and the personnel is friendly and speak english. The hotel is a 15 min walk of the city center of Olot, which is a picturesque town with trendy shops and restaurants. The nearby volcano park offers a great surrouding for a walk along volcanos (very old ones which are completely overgrown by green and dont have the appearance of rough smoking mountains still hot from the lava below). A real pricewinner is the trip to Ribes de Freser were you can take the train to Vall de Nuria, a monastery build in a valley about 2000m above sea level. The train ticket is a bit expensive 20 euro pp (return ticket) but the ride is spectacular We had no negative experiences.
The rooms were okay but not sound proof. The bathroom was large and nice. The food in the hotel resturant was great!! No internet access in the room. No towel service for the pool or beach. We had to buy towels that we threw away because we had no room to carry in our luggage.
There was plenty of space and, though busy, it was very quiet. There was plenty of off road parking right outside and, although the tone of the area was not fantastic, it was only a 10 minute walk into the town. There was a very handy supermarket right opposite (we were "upgraded" into an appartment rather than the room we had booked. But that was great for us).
The staff at the reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. This made our short stay most enjoyable! The breakfast selection was generous, and it was delicious. The passages to the parking garage were extremely tight and also very steep into the garage, making it somewhat difficult to maneuver even our small car. However, this was not a very important factor in our stay, thus only a minor problem.
The friendly staff. Nice room.
the breckfast nothing
Good safe parking. In a rather "run down" urban area.
The staff was excellent and did everything they could to make our stay in the hotel a pleasant experience
spacious rooms, food, location, bed service in restaurant (variable), staff seems to loose their good spirits on a busy night.
Good place for the money. It is clean and you have your own room with air and your own bathroom. The parking outside is easy and it is a nice small town with close proximity to the park. The walls are thin as somebody mentioned, although if you turn the air on I found it to be fine. I would definitely stay here again.
