10.0 Excellent
Pros: What an excellent place to stay! Would highly recommend this B&B to anyone. The place was lovely and clean, the breakfast was superb and we were made to feel extremely welcome. We arrived fairly late and Olivier was there to welcome us as we arrived and showed us to our room. We were always asked what time we wanted breakfast which suited or needs so we could plan our days. If we were ever to go back to that area of France we would definitely go back! Thank you Claudine and Olivier!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Stunning old mill in a beautiful location. Generous room with balcony - perfect for warm evening relaxation and many little 'extras'. Breakfast was fabulous with fruit, yoghurt, pastries and eggs from the hens. Claudine is a very welcoming and generous host speaking excellent English and much useful advice. Pool and wifi were temporarily out of action while we were.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful old mill with a river, converted into a home where Claudine and Olivier host guests. The guest room has its own entrance, balcony, bathroom (with a great shower) and a large comfortable and clean room with a double bed, seating area and kitchenette. The property also has free WiFi and parking. Breakfast is lovely and plentiful with freshly made scrambled eggs with truffles (fresh from her hens in the garden), bread, fruit, pastries, coffee and Claudine's homemade vanilla yoghurt which is so good. Claudine is an excellent host (who speaks great English for those of us who don't speak very good French) and makes you feel welcome. We were there to attend a friends wedding and there was no local taxi service that would pick us up from the nearby venue (15 drive) so Claudine and her husband offered to pick us up and took us back to the mill which was so kind and helpful and much appreciated. She also offered to iron my dress for the wedding which so nice and really was, as she put it, 'VIP treatment'. We didn't get a chance to use the pool but did have a wander around her garden which is lovely and well maintained. I highly recommend anyone to stay at this property for a peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable stay in Monflanquin.
Cons: My only suggestion would be to perhaps have a fan or AC available in the room as it was quite hot in August and sleeping with the windows open meant we got bitten by mosquitoes all night!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Claudine was so nice & couldn’t do enough for you. The accommodation is very comfortable & everything in the room was to a high quality. Our shower was powerful & I particularly loved all the shampoo, shower gels & hand soap. The breakfast was delicious & set you up for the day. Claudine was very friendly & chatted with us during our stay. The pool was amazing, clean , warm & inflatables to use during the stay. The gardens are stunning, a beautiful place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful place to stay. Claudine and Oliver are super welcoming and the experience as a whole was simply charming. The room was spacious, exceptionally clean and had a very comfy bed. We ate and drank with Claudine and Oliver who, as mentioned in other posts, will happily tell you about the local area and provide recommendations - they could not have done more. The breakfast was delicious and varied including a fantastic scrabbles eggs with truffle (with the eggs fresh from the garden!). If you are visiting Monflanquin then this is the place to stay - they set the bar very high!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and quirkiness of it. Claudine and Olivier were just enchanting and the whole experience was to be repeated!

Pros: A lovely location, quiet and lots of grounds to walk around safely. Swimming pool and outside cooking area great, room large, cool with air con if needed and almost black out for a dark room, if wanted. Hosts very friendly, helped us with local restaurants and great breakfasts! Love their doggies and cats too!
Cons: From a personal point of view, we found the bed quite hard (upstairs balcony room) The location is excellent for peace and relaxation but you definitely need transport for shopping, dining out etc.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are two absolutely fantastic people - the kind of people that make you feel nothing whatsoever is a problem. The property itself is a delightful place in an exceptionally peaceful environment. Really can’t recommend this place enough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner made us very welcome and the property was delightful. It was so peaceful in the countryside. We used the pool and had dinner in the garden. So lovely.
Cons: Nothing but you do need a car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Though there was a misunderstanding about whether there was a kitchen or not that was quickly resolved due to the kindness and generosity of our hostess Annie. Our rooms were a whole separate building with two floors. A large living room, bathroom and small coffee room with a fridge on the main floor with a huge bedroom and bath on the second. There was a lovely patio off the side entrance. Great pool area and we were lucky enough to be there in fruit season so there were plums, apples and pears. Our hostess Annie though she said she couldn’t speak English did an amazing job and way better than our French. She was helpful, thoughtful and made our stay so enjoyable.
Cons: Aside from the fact we were expecting a kitchen and there wasn’t one I can’t think of anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb hosts and a wonderful property and location. Excellent breakfast in a quiet, romantic, terrace setting... Have travelled extensively..Le Colombier is a gem...thank you!
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: The stuation was loveily. Very rural but a truely peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Our hosts were extremely hospitable, friendly and attentive to our needs. They were also, good fun and took interest in us. We were travelling with an elderly relative who was given lots of attention and enjoyed swimming in the beautiful pool.
Cons: Nothing really. Finding our way there was tricky as it is in a very rural situation, satt navs not picking up the address, so, we were a little stressed before we finally found it! The stress subsided very quickly!

Pros: Very spacious, roomy apartment with all facilities clean and in good working order. The breakfast was good and plenty to eat. A high point was the delicious, beautifully presented dinner that Crystal cooked for us one evening.
Cons: We happened to be there during exceptionally hot weather, and so the lack of air conditioning was a little disappointing. But the bed was large and very comfortable and we managed quite well.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly welcome and great hospitality throughout our two night stay. The accommodation is spacious and immaculate, with ample, secure parking and delightful breakfasts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had had a nightmare booking in a hotel which we left after one night. La Perriere was the perfect antidote - a lovely property with views over its lovely garden and beyond, in the countryside but only 15 minutes' drive from Villeneuve-sur-Lot. Our hosts are a joyous Dutch couple, equally fluent in English, French and German, and most welcoming - our first half-hour there was spent on their terrace, enjoying their company and their generous hospitality. The large bedroom overlooked the terrace, and the views beyond, and had a sofa, sideboard, and wardrobe, and an ensuite bath/shower room. Breakfasts were very generous, and our hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and even gave us detailed recommendations of where to visit in the area, and restaurants in the town, which made our visit even better. Returning in the evening, we were able to sit out on the terrace under incredible starry skies. Their front garden also provided lots of parking for themselves and their guests. We would recommend this to anyone!
Cons: We felt that our stay was close to perfection, with two lovely people as our hosts, we have nothing to say against our stay, our hosts, or the area.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything in general. The hosts were wonderful, they really loved having us stay and so we did not feel we were intruding in their house. The breakfast was delicious and the addition of a freshly boiled egg was great.
Cons: The chambre d’hote was further than a walking distance from town and the roads were too busy if you wanted a long walk.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Harry and Margo were very welcoming. The room was excellent—great facilities and super clean.Stayed for breakfast which was ample and very good. The view from our balcony was superb...10/10.
Cons: It was raining in the morning!!Not their fault!!!

Pros: Breakfast was great - home made yoghurt and home made jams with croissants and bread. Excellent location and extremely helpful and thoughtful owner with good recommendations for eating in the town and generally very helpful. Secure parking for our motorcycle too.
Cons: Shower head holding bracket would be better if it was adjustable and can be angled so that the shower can be directed to the correct position in the cubicle, but we found this type of fixed bracket is not unusual in hotels we have stayed in.

Chambres d'Hôtes Les Bourdeaux - Monflanquin - Bedroom

9.6 Excellent (37 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A STUNNING hotel in a beautiful part of France. It was clean, rooms were huge and bathroom was huge too. It’s just beautiful, and facilities were excellent. The couple who run this hotel are so lovely, helpful and went the extra mile in every way. It doesn’t surprise me it’s so busy but I hope to go back ASAP. A truly wonderful place. 5* in my opinion!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All of it.
Cons: Nowt.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were friendly and made us very welcome we had not been to this part of France and loved it. We were there for a wedding nearby but would like to go back another time and explore the area. Nothing was too much trouble
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely property and Jaqueline was very friendly, super helpful and approachable
Cons: This isn’t a complaint as the property and facilities were great. We are quite tall and the beds were small but we have this problem in most venues.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jacqueline was an excellent host. The double room with terrace was more than what we expected. So much space. Such a peaceful location. And the summer kitchen is ideal to sort out your snack fix!
Cons: Nothing- we will be back again
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We loved the remoteness of the location, the spaciousness of the room and adjoining bathroom, the fact that it was almost on the ground floor with its own access to a terrace, the lovely swimming pool and the helpfulness and charm of our hosts, Rob and Jacqueline, two Dutch people with impeccable English. We were also grateful that the hosts kindly allowed us to bring friends to share the swimming pool once afternoon, which was a treat as they have a town house in Montflanflanquin and on a hot day were grateful to be able to swim. It was particularly nice to have only 2 other rooms, both occupied during our 4 nights, as the place was quiet and as I am in poor health it was possible to relax and enjoy the calm.
Cons: It would be nit picking to comment but the shower was rather disappointing. It was in a huge curved cubicle but with a very small shower head (perhaps to conserve water?) and did not angle very satisfactorily. We are used to a rain forest shower head at home and getting our whole bodies drenched and in such a large space it seems a missed opportunity not to have something similar or even one of the smart showers which spray onto the body from the side as well as from above. The continental breakfast provided each morning was charming and very smilingly served but we would have appreciated some mueseli or granola as an aid to digestion as well as croissant and bread, and should have remembered to bring our own. The vast bathroom was big enough to accommodate a bath too which we enjoy, but I know that only providing a shower is becoming more usual.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A fantastic, relaxing place to stay. Room were big, comfortable and spotless. Pool was great and views amazing. The owners Rob and Jacque were lovely and provided an excellent breakfast each day.
Cons: Nothing to dislike

Cons: We didn't think too much of Villeneuve. There were some nice historic buildings but we wouldn't plan to stop here again. If we did, we would use the Hotel des Remparts.

Pros: Too early for breakfast at 7am, so can't comment. Looked nice though. The owner was fantastic, shook hands each time we met. Didn't speak English but we communicated, sort of. This was a budget trip and we didn't pay a lot for the room but it was worth every penny and more.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was good - easy to get to shops, restaurants, riverside walks etc. Staff nice - allowed me to check in a bit early which gave more sight seeing time. The restaurant next door was fine and had a varied locally based menu and there were many other choices nearby. The gentleman in charge provided a great space in his garage to lock up my motorcycle - BIG thanks.
Cons: My room was small and very hot. The ceiling fan did its best but really only moved the hot air around. There was a pop concert on a floating stage nearby which I thought would be noisy but in fact was OK.

Pros: Beautiful location surrounded by lovely countryside
Cons: A small point and it’s the only thing we can think of now we have had time to reflect. Cons: Facilities were not in keeping with its 4 star rating. The continental breakfast was ok, the cooked option was poor. It was cold or at least barely warm. Acute shortage of staff on duty to deal with it. We were also charged for 5 breakfasts despite staying on a bed and breakfast basis. Apparently the room had been booked for one , despite 2 of us staying. This point was not picked up on registering. The coffee making facility was a joke. Only 2 creamers and coffee sachets per room per day. Asking for more was like trying to get blood out of a stone. Housekeeping were authorised to give us an extra 2 per day! The shower in the first room was over the bath with a wrap round curtain. Not a problem until you realise the taps and toiletries were on the outside, causing a flood when you used it. We were actually told that it wasn’t a shower. All in all a very poor experience, sadly in keeping with our previous experiences with Accor hotels. Never again would I use Accor Hotels.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: The restaurant
Cons: What am amazing find. Beautiful location and the best restaurant. Thank you
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is set in a fabulous location overlooking the river, though a little tree trimming to thin the trees growing on the banks would help as the view of the river from the balcony of some rooms is nearly obscured. That said, we sat in the restaurant, in the old mill house right on the river eating our breakfast and twice saw Kingfishers, and also watched an Osprey catching it's own breakfast. Magic. The room, almost a suite, was excellent and the staggered balconies have been well designed to afford some privacy. We ate in the restaurant one evening, and the meal was very good and sensibly priced too. There is also a good curry restaurant in Villeneuve.
Cons: Just a couple of small niggles ( in room 302 ) , it was impossible to adjust the adjustable shower head as it wouldn't hold and simply slipped back down the riser . There is also an overhead shower head so this was not a particular problem, just something maintenance needs to look at. Likewise the basin plug mechanism was entirely disconnected so that pulling the plunger up did nothing. you had to push the plug down, which still didn't seal enough to hold water. You then had to pick at the plug with fingernails to be able to remove it. We informed reception, hopefully they should have sorted that out by now.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, peaceful location. The room was of a really good quality and very spacious.
Cons: Unfortunately the beautiful French cheese was served chilled, fresh from the refrigerator. Otherwise the meal was delicious.

Pros: Very helpful staff, pleasant and kind. The lady who checked us out had been very helpful during our stay. We asked her a number of questions, she always went out of her way to give us the correct information. I would return to the hotel again, and I would recommend it to friends. It is nice to be greeted by people who show they are there to help you, they always had a welcoming smile.
Cons: 1 paper cup each, not acceptable for hot coffee/tea. I would prefer to see a porcelain cup and a spoon. We went out and bought cups and a spoon. The shower was slippery, I asked the cleaner if I could have Two bath mats, one for in the shower and one for the floor. The young lady was very understanding and pleasant, she brought them for me right away. It would be nice to have an English language channel on the TV something like France 24. The 5 channels on the TV were mainly cartoons, I did not see any children in the hotel. I had reserved for our grandson but he did not come with us because he was ill.

Pros: This little restaurant-with-rooms is set in the heart of French gastronomy. The rooms are simple, but perfectly adequate for the price, clean, comfortable and lots of hot water. Breakfast is simple and very French. The area is Gascony - with all that implies for tourism, history, food and lovely countryside and the location is very quiet, even though it is fairly close to a country road. The problem is set out below...
Cons: The problem is that the food is simply not up to it. The chef-proprietor should employ somebody who understands the heritage of Gascony. Our evening meal was disappointing in that it did not reflect the Gascon style and all main dishes were presented with the same bland vegetables. My high rating relates to the rooms, but not, I'm afraid to the food.

Pros: Room, hosts, quality of all features including breakfast and expertly prepared dinner - extra cost but super value. Can't recommend enough!

Pros: Lovely and interesting apartment with secure parking and walking distance to the old city. Very helpful hosts.
Cons: Nil
4.0 Okay
Pros: The 1st floor which consisted of a beautiful large bedroom with exposed old beams, a further lovely bedroom (which we did not use) and a separate toilet and basin. The garden was very secure for our small dog who was welcomed and enjoyed her freedom.
Cons: The ground floor was dark, dated and dangerous. This open area consisted of a lounge, kitchen and separate bathroom. Outside of this area was a old conservatory which prevented daylight into the room making it very dark. The kitchen area was tiny and had a sink, a fridge/freezer, a microwave and a gas camping cooking hob (no oven)all within a space of approx 5 square metres. All of these appliances were extremely old and needed replacing. The bathroom was adjacent to the kitchen area and although it functioned reasonably well, like the kitchen was in need of updating. The staircase was very dangerous with small different levels at the top of both flights of stairs. The entrance door had a similar problem and needed highlighting to show the step up into the dark lounge area.
7.5 Good
Pros: Perfectly comfortable but a little dated. This is a homely place with some genuine French quirkiness! Please don't get me wrong, the host was extremely pleasant and the house more than comfortable, clean and tidy, but a modern, newly refurbished apartment this is not.
Cons: The kitchen was a little lacking, there was a hob and microwave with a small grill but no dedicated oven. Not a deal breaker but this may be inconvenient if you're hoping to cook. No air conditioning was a bit of a struggle for us and the gite is generally lacking natural light.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely people. A good place to meet French people in their environment.
Cons: One bedroom was off of the other one.

Pros: I rated this property 10/10 based on what we got for what we paid. I have stayed in more luxury accommodation but that has cost a lot more money. If you are looking for something basic at a very affordable price, it doesn't get better than this.
