We liked the wonderful location of tha hotel - very close to the national park no comments
beautiful location, delicious breakfast, comfortable room, balcony with nice view, helpful and friendly stuff, two big german Schäfer-dogs welcome at the reception ;-)
large room, good location poor breakfast, room service too early (during breakfast time)
The room was spacious, bathroom was ok. Very impersonal, bare minimum comfort and decoration. Not handicapped accessible.
Fantastic value for money. There are few places to stay in Sort and this appears to be the best all round. The restaurant is also extremely good value. This is definitely a location for a base to go canoeing, rafting etc as opposed to a luxury holiday though. Interesting stop over in the pyrenees as this is real spain due to the low volume of tourists,
big rooms, espeically the room for 4 was good. Good exposure
Nice view of the river from the room. Large TV in room. Good bathroom. Air conditioning didn't work. Bed was hard and uncomfortable.
the bed was of a very good quality. The third bed was in the same room, but there was a wall in between: a very good idea not really: the food in the restaurant wasn't that good. Breakfast was ok. We would recommend this hotel for a few days but not for more.
A very personable family run hotel run with staff would go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and enjoy your stay. It was also in a great location, very close to the national park. The noise of the nearby stream can be heard most of the time in the bedrooms. Although this also adds to the stays charm - you have no doubt where you are. Although perhaps more sound insulation could give you the option of whether you want to hear it or not.
The restaurant and the room
The stuff is very nice, pleasant and helpful, the hotel is clean and gives a feeling of freshness No wifi in the rooms.
Staff, location, cleanliness. No, everything was fine.
Very good hotel with very good staff.
A budget hotel with facilities for sports and children. We only chose this hotel because of its position on our touring holiday. A large busy hotel with tired furnishings and decor. The room was small, without a balcony and the airconditioning was not adequate. But overall the worst experience of our one night stay was the evening meal that was included in the price. It was unappetising and some of the food inedibe. The hot food looked like it had been left for a long time. The dining room was very dated and depressing, like eating in a cheap canteen. Would have rather found a meal in one of the local bars. The breakfast was a little better, with bread to toast and some hot food. Although the cold chips were disgusting.
A perfect value for money. Excellent location, comfortable stay, tasty meals, clean rooms, pleasant staff. A smell of cigarettes in the non-smoking room...
the hotel is very old the W.C stinky the food is minimal
good location, good price
There are good facilities for keeping children occupied.
most problems in communicating with the stuf- u can do nothing if they do not speek English !
Excellent hotel - great facilities for children (all free of charge). Room could have been a little larger but was clean and and fresh and the air condition was good. Food was better than we expected (even had roast potatoes one night!) We left early (before breakfast was served) for our flight home and the receptionist opened the cafe to make us coffees and gave us a (pre-ordered) picnic (& drinks) for the journey home - which again was surprisingly good. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
For me, the best is location and the surroundings, together with service and organization, in general Room clening and food would be notably improved
The silence ,wild nature, pools&fountains, wood&stone combined... Nobody!!! is speaking english!!!! accept one lady in the reception!!! .even the menu was in spanish.we cuodnt understand what to order.terrible!
Incredibly beautiful location for a 5 star hotel. Very comfortable and ideal setting. You can literally open all your windows and hear the stream nearby and cowbells in the distance. I know that sounds cheesy but it was really amazing. Also breakfast was rather incredible. Mmmm jamon. My words can't do the location justice. So beautiful.
The people that work on the place where really nice, so the service was excelent... plus is located in a beatiful place to go and rest.
The cleanliness of the rooms, and the setting. We thought the quality of the food and the service in the restaurant was only fair.
Excellent location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, spacious, modern rooms. Absolutely fantastic hotel.
Great hotel! Contrary to former guest comments: the breakfast was rich and satisfying. The (design) room was beautiful and clean, everything worked. The owners, Joseph (also the owner of the skischool) and Anna are very helpful, kind and interested in their guests. Pity that the staf in the morning had a little different opinion about that. For those who do not speak Catalan: Anna speaks english and Joseph a little french. The hotel provides a good start for long walks (even climbing) in the mountains of the Parc Natural. Even for elderly people: there are jeeps which bring you to the most beautiful spots, up high in the mountains. No dinner is provided in the hotel, but there are enough good quality restaurants in Espot.
the location;the hospitality i like all that was at the hotel
The owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent. The atmosphere was like home. Overall, it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay, and we would love to return to this hotel again.
I was made to feel very welcome by the owners and staff of the hotel. THey were extreme warm and friendly, and clearly interested in making sure I enjoyed my visit to their hotel and town. No, it was excellent.
The hotel is quite new and our room was comfortable and clean with a balcony and a good view over the village and mountains. There is a small car park in the hotel grounds. Breakfast was an excellent buffet with a good selection of Spanish sausages, cheeses, breads etc. The staff looked after us well. There are two good restaurants within walking distance to eat in the evening. We had no problems or complaints.
Good price for a very nice, modest family hotel with very kind and accommodating owners. The owner helped us plan our hikes. He and his wife were on hand to help us at all times. Small bedroom and the lobby was not an inviting space. It has uncomfortable sofas and the tv is on all the time. Breakfast not for the diet conscious!
Everything, the location ,staff and rooms were great!! breakfast was very local and very tasty. The staff should learn more English , the communication with them was a bit hard.
Friendly, helpful staff and modern, stylish & clean rooms.
Perfect location for those who wish to hike in the mountains of Aiguestortes park. We stayed for 3 wonderful nights. The hotel is managed by a warm family, which made us feel like home. Breakfast was great even if it didn't include hot plates (outstanding variety of local cheese and sausages and delicious pastries). The room had a great view, very clean, and modern styled. We highly recommend this hotel, which was one of, if not the best hotels we've been at during our two weeks vacation in Spain.
The hotel staff were very friendly. The hotel was shining clean ! In the middle of Espot, two minutes by foot from the starting point of the 4x4 tours.Very good and rich breakfast.
Our host was excellent, assisting us with recommendations for hikes, translating the menu into English, and assisting us with telephoning home. We had the best meals in two weeks in Spain - rich lasagne with Bechemel sauce (no calories!), house salad with lettuce straight from their garden, savoury rabbit cassoulet, and hot smooth carrot soup, not to forget the amazing cheesecake. Thankfully, we had two excellent hikes to wear this all off.
Not much to add to all the other reviews: very good hotel, nice room with beautiful bathroom, great food, very friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere we had not seen yet in the rest of Catalunya. The town and the other towns in the valley seem to come from an open-air-museum and the views are amazing. We had a beautiful walk through the national park on recommendation by one of the hotel staff.
Location in a beautiful small village next to a Romaesque church and surrounded by mountains. The bed was a little hard.
Gorgeous location in a quaint tiny (!) village in the Pyrenees. Extremely close to Aigustortes National Park. The staff is very helpful and the restaurant had very good food for dinner, even including vegetables from their own garden. There is no air conditioning, and the hotel does not have electric fans to borrow. To combat the heat (stayed in early July), we slept with the window open and were then bothered all night by flies (no screens or bug nets) and noise from outside.
We were excited as one of the best world-heritage Romanesque churches was just next to this hotel! Bathroom decoration was posh and stylish. And the dinner at the restaurant was excellent too! Staffs at reception and restaurant were all friendly and helpful. Nothing
Great Hotel in lovelly setting with good food. Some English speaking staff but all helpfull. Rooms and public areas clean and well presented.
Location convenient to Aiguestortes Nat'l Park access point in Espot. It is obvious the proprietor takes pride in his restaurant. The food was excellent and the staff was pleasant, attentive and professional. Easy to find location right on the c13.
We liked the hotel very much, breakfast was splendid, location also very nice, we found it easily at night. And I have the feeling that there was a monastery before, it really had something of it. Sound isolation was not very good, and we heard people walking above us in the evening.
excellent food for a fair price, breakfast, lunch, dinner the very nice pools an dpool area, need better maintainance
