Pros: Great for outdoor living and enjoy countryside. Could be good with kids. Nice spot from which to visit places in surrounding countryside.
Cons: The countryside was decimated by wildfires. It is nice to see it is recovering but still quite bare. However this does not need to be negative, it actually opens the horizon and rocky formations. Restaurant-visits needs to be planned, they are not available on first sight!
Pros: Everything was perfect, very comfortable place to stay. Roberto and his wife are excellent hosts. Highly recommend a stay here.
Cons: Nothing it was perfect

Cons: There is not much to see in the area.
Pros: Lovely room and super breakfast. Staff spoke little English but were very helpful.
Cons: Limited food options. Hotel doesn’t serve food in the evening and only one local bar within walking distance. Having said this the bar made us welcome and the food was nice.
Pros: Amazing view , excellent room. Staff was very helpful and breakfast was fine
Pros: Open swimming pool in the midst of nicely maintained fresh green turf surrounded by nature and traditional farmhouse architecture, with an amazing backdrop of the mountain Serra de Estrela, the hotel has a unique charm in the middle of an unknown village. The roads to arrive to the hotel is scenic and one of the most beautiful in the country. The room is equipped with modern comfort within an historical building, the way a good hotel should be, which deserved to be applauded. As much as i would like to keep the place a well-kept secret, it is highly recommended.
Cons: The toilets lack places to hang wet towels or wet clothes (after swimming). Outdoor air-conditioning units make loud sounds sometimes at night, which are in need of maintenance. Flies in summer could be a big nuisance due to the horse farm setting next door.

Pros: Brand new.
Pros: As always, a good breakfast, nice rooms, great bathroom. Staff is very friendly and helpful as always. I always enjoy my stays at Alva Valley and would definitely recommend for business or leisure.
Cons: The internet could be a bit more stable and more fast, but it's difficult in Portugal.
Pros: Price and cleanliness
Pros: Clean room, much more than comfortable bed. Minibar. Acceptable breakfast
Cons: Coffee at breakfast: why not to have caffe solo?
Pros: Confortable and in excellent condition (seemed brand new), Friendly staff. Nice restaurant.

Pros: Very clean, friendly and the view.
Cons: Got there at night, a bit difficult, if decide to stay here make sure you come during the day
Pros: The hosts are very lovely! We loved this place and it was one of the highlights of our trip in Portugal.
Pros: I truly enjoyed my stay with Luis and Eugenia. They are the most friendly people you'll meet! Every morning Eugenia gives you a great, big, and very varied breakfast and always checks in if everything is ok. Meanwhile Luis is always downstairs if you need him for any questions and speaks English very well. The room is nice and has a great and large bathroom, and not to mention a great view. The property is located in a little valley, near a river, and it is a beautiful house, which is very pitoresque and really gives you the feeling of being in rural Portugal. The property is located near Sao Giao, which is a very old town and looks amazing. When I need to be in the Oliveira region, I will definitely keep returning to Quinta dos Barbas!
Cons: The property is a little bit hard to find at night - GPS usually does not work very well in this area and in pitch dark Quinta dos Barbas may be a bit hard to find. I suggest going during the day, or making sure you have a proper map of the area.

Pros: The place is really cozy and nice. The breakfasts is very good and the restaurant serves good quality food. The swimming pool must be excellent on warm days.
Cons: The beds were not comfortable, and also the bathroom towels were old.
Pros: Boutique hotel, high level, the view is perfect, the hotel is in an old quinta , 5 stars in my opinion, dinner is great and not expensive, breakfast best
Pros: Great views from the room. The whole hotel and restaurant was very nicely decorated and homely.
Pros: Friendly staff, restaurant on site is excellent
Cons: There was no air conditioning in our room
Pros: We enjoy very much the stay. The room had a great view, big garden and nice restaurant.
Pros: Very pretty hotel where all details have been taken care of. Very nice canopy bed and cool details in the decoration all over the hotel. Very good breakfast.
Cons: Maybe the only thing that could be better was that the person in charge of the hotel was also working at the restaurant and was alone for serving the breakfast. She was, obviously a little bit overwhelmed. A little help could be good for her...
Pros: The place is absolutely AMAZING. Friendly owner, lovely views, everything is new, very cosy , everything super clean. Good breakfast! The best hostel I stayed in Portugal probably.
