Atmospheric on the Compestela Pilgrim's route, opposite Larresingle medieval villiage and Chateau. Good simple meals.
Well located hotel The breakfast was extremely poor for €6 a person. The room had a strange white powder falling on everything in the room all night. Spiders' webs all over the room. Cleanliness could have easily been improved.
I liked the location and the atmosphere the L'Auberge has
Friendly arrival, Home cooking-simple. Basic but adequate room. Simple breakfast. Cheap overall. No other guests. Good view.
a peaceful location, easy to find, comfortable bed, good for late afternoon sunshine outside.... the welcome was awful, there was dry rot in the ceiling over the bed, dropping residue on to the bed.The charge for the digestive for myself & wife at 16 euros was disgraceful. The breakfast was very ordinary for the price and the bread was stale...the "owner " who served breakfast was not welcoming...compared with lots of logis we have stayed in on this holiday. We were glad to leave, clearly not a Logis of France which has a good reputation.
Location is ideal in the country and peaceful and the welcome was charming. The food was nothing special apart from the starter
Excellent welcome from the staff who could not have been more welcoming and helpful. No
Excellent pool and pool garden. Friendly and efficient staff who like small children. Very good continental breakfast. No petty rules or officeous signs. The decor, carpets, lighting, furnishings, bathrooms are all tired, worn, rather shabby and outdated. It is like university student standard. It needs complete refurbishment. We think it maybe suits its normal clientel, but we need something fresher.
Excellent location Nothing
The ambiance and owners, peaceful. Shower unit needs modernising
Relaxed atmosphere The price of the poor quality breakfast, which was only availble to be eaten in bedroom. We only ordered this once in view of our inital experence.
Friendy staff, convenient location, bqasic but comfortable room
The location was very convenient. I did think it was marginal in terms of value for money when compared with other accommodation used on this holiday, Lack of air conditioning or even a fan on what was an extremely hot night.
Professional run hotel, no restaurent, but easy walk into town. Comfortable and well priced. Difficult to find on the map.
The staff were friendly and helpful when we asked for a fan. They spoke very good English which is a bonus when my French is not so good! The room was hot and had one small window. The bathroom had a shower over the bath hung up on the wall but there was no shower curtain. The rooms had had a revamp but this was just paint and new curtains. They need new bathroom suites and dressing tables. Despite this the room was clean.
Friendly, bilingual, knowledgeable, helpful staff Could use a work over
The setting and the architecture of the hotel is like stepping back into the Middle Ages. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The restaurant at the hotel serves dishes and wines of the region that are cooked and served to perfection. Anyone coming to this region must experience this hotel as there are so few that rival The Chateau de Fources for service and the overall experience.
Wonderful place to stay. Excellent value for money. Friendly and helpful owners and staff.
The staff were excelent, friendly and helpful. The dinner was also excellent in terms of cooking quality, choice and the very knowledgable wine waiter. I would go back to eat here. The location is quiet and the terrace and breakfast room could be great but are "tired" The rooms and the general decor are in need of serious refurbishment, my room had been recently repainted but in all seriousness the entire building needs a significant anount of money spending on it, much more than repainting. The location is good but this does not feel like a 3 star hotel despite the best efforts of the owners.
Fantastic location, excellent cuisine and service
Good restaurant Traffic noise
Well run with friendly staff. Food ok with comfortable, public areas. Room ok. En Suite a little lack lustre and needs updating. Nothing drastic.
Nice and clean, spoke english and french, excellent food Nothing
the lady who greeted us was very welcoming. the receptionist when we left mocked my French - it's not that great but i don't usually have trouble being understood and can carry on a conversation
`Staff were very helpful, meals were reasonable, rooms were basic but clean `Breakfast was very poor - in particular the coffee, from a machine, was dreadful
Excellent host and dinner good
The room was very small but clean and it had a small swimming pool which could be used by guests but at very restricted times Service was appalling and offhand, directions difficult to follow and not in Pujols at all!! No airconditioning and breakfast very poor - even the coffee was in a flask. Pretentious set up with heavy carpets and no lifts for the multi levelled building therefore manoevering luggage was difficult
Modern hotel where everything worked. Good restaurant with better than average menu. Pleasant chat with friendly proprietor, not to mention the Vieil Armagnac, on leaving. No, except the usual complaint about poor lighting for reading in the bedroom of virtually all French Hotels
Nice village location, next to thermal spa facility, good in-house restaurant Small room with only basic facilities and outfit: no shower curtain over tub, one electric wall plug in entire room, WiFi only in reception area, lacking in-room safe, coffee/tea making facilities
Excellent food available in the restaurant and the hotel's location k
Secure parking and situation of Barbotan itself.
The communal areas were bright and airy and the fire in the lounge was a nice feature. Our bedroom was cleaned fantastically every day. The decor and furniture in the room is a little dated.
country location, peaceful and quiet. secure car park. lovely small town,
Very peaceful place and complaisant people.
My daughter liked Shippy the dog, the swimming pool was lovely and the hotel was right in the town and next to the spa treatment centre. Very quiet and traffic free. The zombies going for their treatment at the spa every morning!! Summoned by the loud bell.
location, quietness, We couldn't get the hot water enough warm to take a bath and we caught a slight cold.
Excellent location in the centre of a spa resort, convenient to all amenities Run down feel , evidence of poor maintainance in facilities, spartan rooms, very poor breakfast. Very low staffing levels.
Accessability to town buy foot. Own secure carpark. Pleasant and very helpful staff, cleanliness of all rooms. Breakfast was minimal for the money. Croissant only available on request.
The wonderful greeting and help we had from the lady in charge . Was she the owner? We spoke little French and she spoke little English but we got on so well. Even sharing jokes when things got a bit muddled. We cannot praise her enough for making us feel so comfortable and welcome. Unfortunately we had to leave early on the day of our departure and did not have a chance to thank her personally, perhaps you can do that for us. Finding it. Our confirmation letter said 24 Avenue Des Thermes, Cazaubon. We drove round and round and asked several people who did not know and somehow we were directed to Barbotan Les Thermes. When we saw the hotel we thought it must be another hotel with a somilar name because it seemed a long way from Cazaubon. Fortunately it was the right hotel and Madame greeted us so very warmly.
Location, quietness Cold shower, poor breakfast
Rooms fine and clean. Poor lighting in bathroom and general lighting in room inadequate. Scruffy grounds, unmown grass and faded blinds. Entrance to hotel poor and unkempt.
Great location, friendly and helpful service. A very well run hotel None
