Friendly staff. Close to Rosalind Franklin U, the school at which I was interviewing. Too expensive. Spent the same amount on this hotel as I did at the Talbott in downtown Chicago.
The staff was so helpful they had shuttle lists, and restaurant lists printed out for us with address and times they took great care of all of the military families.
The hotel was relatively clean. The bathroom area and sink was nice. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was pretty good. Shower was nice and the air conditioner in our room was nice. The bed was horribly uncomfortable. The room was small, but not awful. We found a dried booger on our sheets. Which is pretty gross. The pillows were even worse than the bed!
Nothing walked out asked for a full refund and went somewhere else to stay. This is not 3 stars This place is nasty, dirty , smelled horrendous
Nothing Wouldn't give extra towels or extra blanket. Went to get snacks and had to have exact change only. Pictures look nice, but it wasn't.
Couldn't beat the price and very close to attractions. The breakfast was horrible.
This hotel was a nightmare. It looks like that should be charging by the hour. Our room had black hair all in the bathroom and the phone didn't even work in our room. The whole hotel smelled awful. I wouldn't let my dogs stay at this hotel.
Had bed bugs in our first room!!! Moved to another room, only slept in there for 4 hours, got bit all up, Checked out!!!! Calling corporate today.... Ramada should not have their name attached to this hotel Bed bugs!!! Dirty.... moldy... smell.
Swimming pool was large; Bed was comfortable; TV was good quality. This place wasn't terrible considering the $62 price, but I would never stay here again. I feel like if the people from Ramada corporate had the experience I had they would pull the franchise immediately. Power outlet dangling from wall in room; moldy tub; ice machine had carpet in hallway soaked; hot tub was not working; no towels in pool area; hallway smelled like armpit; continental breakfast was pretty nasty (fruit was shriveled); exterior door did not lock.
Overall a good experience
The only positive I can say about our stay at this hotel is we received one of the recently remodeled rooms and it wasn't nearly as gross as the rest of the hotel. The room itself was clean and the bathroom was recently remodeled. However, the rest of the hotel is a different story. The halls smell of a mix between mold and garbage, the carpet is dirty and upon exploring the entire hotel there are halls with exposed pipes, minimal lighting, and broken doors. While walking around we passed a conference room with the door propped open, when we looked inside it was clear a party had taken place and the entire room was strewn with half empty liquor bottles and garbage. The hallway to the pool is covered in what seems to be saw dust (even though I saw no construction going on the entire time we were there) and has a busted window as well as the pool area having a busted sliding glass door. The secured back door #3 was broken and propped open slightly allowing anyone to mosey into the hotel. One hallway off the lobby has a huge cut out in the ceiling exposing rusty water pipes, and according to the OSHA paperwork hanging on the wall below it, asbestos debris that fall out of this hole. This hotel also does not appear to be in a great area in town either with apartment buildings directly behind the parking lot. Overall we lucked out considerably with the 'executive' room, however everything just felt kind of gross and super neglected. I would highly recommend looking at literally any other hotel in the area.
3 beds in a very large room, and the location to six flags Old and very run down. They have updated the lobby, but that is it. It appears to me that they have allowed the property to deteriorate beyond repair and that the property will probably have to be torn down. They gave us vouchers for breakfast, so I thought we had something to look forward to, but it was awful.
The beds were comfy The lack of soap in bathroom, no heat in pool, no towels at pool. Pretty wrecked
Nothing, they refused my reservation even after I showed confirmation of reservatio and proof that the room had been paid for Nothing. Terrible service and all but one employee was extremely rude. I want someone in charge to give me a call. My number is 920-255-1053. If you don't call me I will be calling you.
Close to everything, specially the mall and all the nice restaurants.
The best thing about this hotel it its location, its surroundings have great places to eat and it right behind a superstore for purchasing supplies while you stay. The guest Landry is small, only has a single washer and dryer. The way the staff handled my billing and checkout caused me to have problems with this hotel and will probably percent me from returning.
The service was extraordinary. By far some of the best I have experianced.
Honestly there was nothing good about this place. I went here with my family and 2 were little children. We had gotten charged with 250$ fee for smoking when everyone was non smokers. They wouldn't listen to us. They were very rude and ignorant. Would not recommend this stay! The employees be little you and make you feel Not welcomed what so ever. We were all non smokers and I felt like we were treated like criminals.
the staff was excellent went for navy graduation, staff did great job! all was great
Loved everything about this hotel from the staff to the cleanliness of the hotel. Great rooms and excellent location.
Staff responded immediately to my complaint about the naked toddler. Most staff was very friendly. The pool area was very loud at night, there was a naked toddler walking around the pool crying.
Clean, comfortable, safe.
We booked this hotel because of our son's graduation from Boot Camp in Great Lakes. We arrived in the afternoon the day before, check- in was fast and easy. Our room was perfect. There were four in our party, and the girls took the sleeper sofa. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We required additional towels every day and they were delivered with a smile to our door. One daughter needed her room key replaced because it was scratched and didn't work and that wasn't a problem either. We ate the continental breakfast and it has to be one of the best I have ever had. The food was hot, the choices were plentiful and the breakfast bar was continually being filled so that no one went without something they wanted. Check out was fast and easy also. I would definitely stay in this hotel again and I would recommend it to my friends if they were in the area.
While the staff was not that great, the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The price that I payed for it was more than worth it and made up for the unhelpful staff. I did not have breakfast there, but it looked decent and the internet access was pretty fast. Defiantly a good stay.
We were looking for a decent place to stay for 4 or 5 days as close to Great Lakes Naval Base as possible as our son was graduating from bootcamp. After reading reviews on many hotels in the area we chose the Residence Inn in Waukegan because of all the great reviews, because they have rooms w/ kitchens & they are only about 10 minutes away from the Naval Base. Another plus was instead of booking 2 rooms for my husband, myself and our 2 just over 18 yr. old daughters we were able to book a 2 bdrm suite which saved us some$. We traveled from Chico, CA to arrive at the hotel around 6:30 pm, cold and exhausted. I went in to check in & was greeted by 2 friendly employees. The process took only a few minutes. They did put a hold on $* on my cc for incidentals which we got back all of a few days after we left. As I was handed our key cards the smiling young woman gestured towards an adjoining room saying that a complimentary meal of meatloaf & mashed potatoes, etc was available & we should feel free to go on in. We did. After traveling all night & day it was nice to have a hot meal waiting- no extra cost. They also have a complimentary breakfast every morning with stuff like Belgian waffles w/ strawberries & whip cream, biscuits & gravy, eggs, fruit, etc also no extra cost. Our room was great, like an apartment , each bedroom had it's own full bathroom, the beds were wonderful. Internet access- wi-fi or ethernet. Flat screen tv in ea room & in living room. Kitchen equipped w/ utensils. Clean, well maintained, lg bath towels, great! Would definitely stay again & recommend highly!
Comfy room for 4 adults with kitchenette. Well stocked self-serve breakfast with many different options. Eggs, Self made Belgian waffles, potatoes, bacon, sausage, cereals, fruit, muffins, juices, coffee with your favorite creamers. Simply Splendid. Residence Inn will be my only choice on future trips! 6 miles to Navy base for graduations. Easy trip to main gate.
We went to Chicago to see my son graduate from navy basic training. This is the best hotel have ever stayed in.
We stayed here to visit my son who is in the Navy. Your hotel met our needs. I wanted to cook my son a home cooked meal. Your hotel (kitchenette) supplied everything I needed to cook. Your staff were awesome! Will definitely come back and highly recommend to others. Thanks for the excellent services! We really appreciate your customer services
I came here to see my husbands Navy graduation and I will say this is one of the best places to stay. Not only was the room wonderful but the staff were excellent. The staff here were very friendly with all my questions I had the area. Especially since it was my first time in that area. They had everything you need from maps to sites for Navy graduation to leisure activities. They also had a little mini-grocery if you needed that little something for your room. And a big advantage you felt safe. I felt at ease with my stay there. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone needing a wonderful pleasant stay!!! And I do plan on coming back again!!
This is a great hotel, especially if you are attending a Navy graduation. Very nice room with small kitchen and polite staff. Good breakfast. There's a happy hour that looked good, but we didn't attend. WalMart and restaurants close by. Pool and sport court available in season.
This hotel was perfect for our needs. My husband and I traveled to see our son graduate from Navy boot camp, and we picked this hotel for its location and amenities. Upon a late arrival, we we were greeted quickly at the front desk, and we were asked our floor preference, which I appreciated. We were given a special information package just for Navy families with local restaurant info, distances, graduation tips, shuttle info etc. Our room was spacious, clean, smelled fresh, and had all the expected amenities. We were able to control the room temperature to our liking. Daily housekeeping was discreet and timed for our absences. Plenty of hot water for showers. We used the internet connection and had no problems getting that going. The breakfast buffet was excellent. There was a selection of complimentary newspapers available daily. The staff was all friendly and helpful. I wish it was in season for the (outdoor) pool, but we traveled in March. The outdoor facilities looked nice, though: Pool, basketball hoop, barbecue area. Plenty of safe, well lit parking, and key card access at all remote entrances. We were very pleased with this hotel and would use it again if we were in the area.
We were in the Chicago area for our son's graduation ceremony from Navy basic training. (The hotel's location is excellent for this.) We booked two rooms, one for our family (me, my wife, and our younger son) and one for my wife's sister. Her room was directly across from ours. We arrived on Thursday in time for the very good buffet (free!) including beer and wine. The free breakfast buffet served every day was also very good, including pecans for the DIY waffle iron (every one turned out perfect!) Scrambled eggs, sausage, SOS (I was in the service also some years ago), oatmeal (I am not an oatmeal fan, but it was good enough that I had it twice), cereal, juice - it was all very good, as was the plentiful coffee. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and everything was very clean. We did not use the kitchen except the last night when we kept our doggy-bag pizza in the fridge and then heated it up in the microwave for lunch on Sunday before heading for the airport. This hotel really helped us keep our food expenses down! If we had stayed any longer I would have stocked the fridge with drinks and snacks, as the prices in the Snack Bar next to the front desk are pretty high. The one problem we had with the room (a clogged toilet) was handled within five minutes of our calling the front desk. A very nice guy showed up with a plunger and solved the problem quickly. Five minutes after he left, the front desk called to make sure the problem was handled to our satisfaction. Excellent customer service! The only other issue is some minor problems with traffic noise, but we all slept fine. Highly recommended!
EXCELLENT STAFF, EXCELLENT RESPONSE TO ANY REQUEST. DELICIOUS COOKIES WERE A NICE TOUCH IN THE LOBBY. AS WELL AS THE COFFEE. NOTHING , EVERYTHING AS GREAT, AND YES I WOULD BOOK AGAIN WHEN IN AREA.
Clean, new, fresh, great shower, great staff. Dinner in lobby restaurant was very good and reasonable. Free cookies were a nice touch. There is also a little store in the lobby to get smaller food items and forgotten travel items. I am a huge stickler for smells and this hotel smells great! Very minor: beds were not real comfortable and not sure why. They are adjustable but I had a sore back in the morning. No free breakfast, although they have a very nice casual restaurant in lobby. Breakfast buffet was around $12 I think. For kids it was $5.99 I think. They had a cold bar breakfast option for a lower price. We ate dinner there and it was really good and fairly reasonable.
My son and I came with our dog for hockey showcase. It was close to the rink, food, shops, highway and forest preserve was a bonus! I was able to walk dog safely and go for a run. Hotel was clean and staff were very friendly and helpful.
I love Residence Inn. The rooms are always clean and comfortable and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
red carpet inn is the most accessible and practical place to stay when you visit the u.s.navy base in great lakes, il chicago. none that i could think of, because we only stayed for a short time to attend the u.s navy ceremony/graduation at great lakes, il.
Staff were very helpful and accommodating, shuttle service to Navy graduation was quick and easy. Location was easy to find and convenient for graduation. While everything in the hotel was thrift store quality, the bed was comfy, the water was hot, and the heater in the room worked fine. This hotel is definitely being used as a cash cow by the owners. First let me say that we didn't have high expectations based on the reviews of others. Yes, the sheets had holes in them, there was a light bulb missing in the room, and there was mildew in the grout around the tub. The painting contractor didn't clean up his goofs with the roller so there were interesting dark red marks on the tub, shower curtain, and wall. The toilet paper holder was broken and the floor under the toilet was soft so the toilet was a bit wobbly (and was clogged when we got there, but a plunger solved that problem in short order). Having said that, the desk and cleaning staff do their utmost to ensure guests are as well cared for as they can. I've received poorer service from $300/night hotels.
The beds were too soft, to the point that both my wife and I backs were sore in the morning. There was a fold up spare bed in the corner of the room. we didn't request it but I took a look at it and saw that there was clumps of hair on it, as if an animal had used it last. The toilet was problematic, the chain inside was too long for the handle and it constantly was getting caught in the opening, so the the water would continue to try to fill the tank. I noticed once that it ran like that for almost an hour, until I fixed it. We did request a non smoking room, didn't notice any smells, but there were burn holes in the blankets.
The staff was fantastic. The room was really clean and newly remodeled which was a plus. I ony have two small complaints, one is the location, it's a pain to get in and out, because of the road with a center median. And their parking lot was not connected to the row of places next door, which was a bummer. My second complaint is that the heater was a hit or miss. At one point it was so hot you couldn't breathe. Then the next it was so cold.
NOTHING This motel did not meet any of my expectations. They advertised that it was continental breakfast. The only thing they served was coffee.
price is ok no food vendor around the area
the only good is Duncan doughnuts is a 2 minute walk for the gallons of cofree you will need the next morning. The noise making you think that the floor above you going to fall through because it's so paper thin don't sleep downstairs, the roaches all over the place make your skin crawl and the rock you lay down on makes sleep impossible.

The hotel was close to the Naval Base, the only reason my family chose this. Main lobby door is open to anyone,no security, thugs can easily have an access to the hotel. Bathroom door is loose and ready to fall off, I woke up on my first night with red itchy spots on my arm probably from bedbug or mosquito bite.Towels stained.
The flat screen tv No
A huge Surprise on the remodeling of the room and Happy it's wooden flooring. No Smell or Dust in Vents! Clean! Downfall of the Stay was No WiFi Connection at all, Struggled throughout the Stay so my Kids were Bored as well! No Continental breakfast that would be nice!the Front Desk was Not Friendly.
Staff was quick about processing and very courteous The hall way smelled of smoke
I cancelled the reviews were bad from families that stayed there the week before
Staff was friendly and helpful.
It was clean. As soon as you walk in, you can smell that someone is somewhere cleaning. The front desk person helped out fine, but she looked like she only had a couple of hours of sleep. It didn't affect her service, but at first glance I was hesitant to talk to her.
good location too noisy
It was a place to sleep and take a shower The cleanliness, beds and them taking the breakfast away so early. Not that there was much to choose from
Owner really really needs to invest some money in this property. Breakfast was very poor.
The location was good while visiting the Naval base. The breakfasts were Eggo type waffles. The water for the shower was cold. I couldn't get it warm. The tub had no stopper and the drain was semi-clogged. The wallpaper was pealing off of the wall. We had to wait forever to turn in our keys when leaving because there is rarely anyone at the front desk.

It was convenient in location to the park and restaurants.
price hotel is sold to amusement park employees and they are by busloads, rowdy, smoking outside everywhere on every level, talking loudly,WORSE than spring break
Location very close to six flags, had a kitchenette. Not as pictured, very old tube TV, room was not the cleanest.
Easy access to us 41 Room was very rundown
The experience that I had at The Crosslands Economy Studios was an overall enjoyable one.The amenities were terrific, wifi, stove, refrigerator and many others
