The front-desk staff were so welcoming accommodating to our needs. The rooms feel luxurious- just don't look too closely at the peeling wallpaper or cracked walls. The views are nice (we had a riverview room), and I would love to return again in warmer weather. The hotel was a short walk from many wonderful bars and restaurants. The food is nothing special, a lot of the entrees seemed like leftovers from nights previous. The bar was small and the staff soured my evening by complaining about their coworkers. The hot tubs are very loud- it's distracting to enjoy a romantic evening and hear the loud whiirs of your neighbors jets firing up. The wallpaper in the rooms was beginning to crack and peel. The placement of the furniture was nonsense. I understand that nobody checks into this hotel to watch TV, but most of the TVs were small old tube TVs, and if you had a flat screen in your room the image was cut off by the four poster bed.
fireplace and quaintness There was only one bar of soap to use in bathroom and sink.
Location, location, location! The old charm is wonderful and I enjoyed the decks and old time bar. Beds were "taco-like". Need new mattresses.
The attached wine room, antique store and on site restaurants- local ambiance and friendly helpful staff. Nope.
The food was fantastic at 'The Current'. One of the 3 dining locations. We booked a 'King Room', upgrading from the advertised deal. However our room given was #23, which had a Queen bed. Could not charge phones in worn out sparking outlets. Shower-head was broken beyond repair and shot off when you turned on shower.
This was a quaint, yet modern hotel. We stay at hotels approximately once/month and this was a great place. The room was beautiful. Having 3 restaurants under the same roof was awesome. We loved the breakfast and parking was close to our room. Our only complaint would be that there was not path shoveled from our parking spot to the most convenient door for us to use. Other than that, everything was great.
Small town but, secluded.. But then again, not a far drive from home. The staff was nice and accommodating. I wish there was more to do, but that's difficult to include in tg middle of the winter.
It's history is apparent the second you walk in the front door. This B and B is located steps from the St. Croix river and is nestled in the cutest small town ever! On the opposite side of river in WI is yet another adorable town. very relaxing stay No closets, bathroom shower was so small it was almost frustrating trying to shower, room was quaint but not snoot of space to move around. Breakfast: dripped w grease and seemed microwaved:( in fairness; we asked for early food n no chef was there yet
It was very cozy and felt comfortable
