A stunning display of architecture and upscale style of service in an historic Manor House (c.1453) building, the Deer Path Inn is the perfect place to gather, work or relax. Located near Lake Forest’s Historic Market Square District, the Deer Path Inn debuted in 1929 as a popular pastoral retreat for Chicagoans. Modeled after a mid-15th century Manor house in Chiddingstone, Kent, England, the half-timber and stuccoed Tudor-style inn features authentic detailing including stone fireplaces, leaded windows, and beamed ceilings. Each of the inn’s guestrooms is individually decorated and named after a National Trust of England Site.

With an award winning Dining Room with Executive Chef Khellil and his talented culinary staff, recognized by Zagat and DiRona – Distinguished Restaurants of North America, recognized by Wine Spectator magazine for having the “most outstanding wine list in the world” 18 years in a row, voted for the best wedding venue throughout the Northshore by Northshore magazine, guests and visitors alike are in for an unforgettable experience.

Our hotel is located approximately thirty miles north of Chicago. We are easily accessible by the major roadways north of Chicago and east-west from Lake Michigan, and roughly 25miles north of Chicago O’Hare International Airport via I-94 and Route 41.
