Pros: The Bedford Lodge was a lovely place to stay, the bed and room were comfortable and the staff couldn't have been more pleasant. The hotel has lovely grounds and nice fitness facilities. While there, I took advantage of the pool (unfortunately, the hot tub and sauna were undergoing renovation, but should be completed soon).
I usually live out of my suitcase when I travel, but the room was clean enough that I felt comfortable placing clothes in the drawers, where, unfortunately, I left some of them. When I discovered this and called the hotel, they very promptly packed the left items and sent them off to me at my follow-on hotel, keeping me informed of the progress.
It is easy to get to Cambridge from there and, if in the area, I would be happy to stay there again.

Pros: The Old Cannon is a warm little brewery a quick walk to down town. We were welcomed by a friendly staff. Large tanks decorate the pub. We split a light, crispy and delicious fish and chips. Breakfast was well done with Blue Mountain coffee.
Cons: Typical of pub B$Bs in the UK the room was small as was the bathroom, yet clean and comfortable. It was definitely what we expected. The proximity to down town can't be beat and the parking behind the pub was welcome.
