Good breakfasts. Comfortable bed. Warm room. Hotel did not fix shower head even after we asked twice. Window would not shut. TV signal was poor. Not happy that I was asked to pay for the room when I arrived, even though money had come out of my credit card account the week before. Not happy that we were asked to pay for breakfasts as hotel didnt think breakfasts were included when booked through Bokings.com. We had to show your email as proof as they had not been sent a copy of your email, allegedly.
nothing due to the smell and unclean feel of the hotel we did not stay the night. the hotel needs some serious renovation. upon checking out (within an hour of checking in!) we were still charged the full amount despite stating the above
checking out evening restaurant service, crap
The only fault was that we did not realise that the radiator in the room had been turned off and therefor the room was on the cold side due to the time of year.
Excellent value, good food, friendly hotel staff. Although efficient the bar staff could have been taught to smile.
The staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was great.Beds were comfortable and the rooms was lovely and clean. The room was fairly cold even though the radiator was on. The plumbing needs to be sorted. I tried to run a bath and only a trickle of water came out and that wasn't very hot. So,I tried the shower and it was the same.
Very large bathroom. Restaurant staff gave good service. Newspaper arrived early. No telephone in the room so although I was asked if I would like a wake up call it never arrived.
I am disabled and there was always a disabled space for my car and the staff were friendly. The hotel room was not clean. On the surface it looked clean but when I laid on the bed the wall behind was covered in dust.
The location, very good Hotel very run down, staff not very helpful, ive stayed at the bell three times over the years as we race at snetterton racetrack and each time the hotel looks a little tired,it needs a little tlc dont think we will stay next year.
the hotel has good faccilities and our room was pleasant. Breakfast also good we were put in a room directly above a very loud party. The hotel refused to compensate us in any way for the fact that we couldn't sleep
It was really peaceful staying at the six bells hotel. We felt really relaxed after the weekend and look forward to returning soon. My only dislike about the room we stayed in was the mould in the bathroom.
Good size, clean and bright. No hot water in the morning! Apparently due to boiler malfunction...
The food was very good Our room had the shower cubicle separate from the toilet and hand basin room. This was not convenient.
we found the hotel to be very welcoming with fiendly staff and a high level of service
Rural location, friendly staff and other guests.Excellent value for money on all counts.
Nice setting,good room, good food
The location is excellent, the food as first class and the staff very friendly and attentive
Fabulous food with a great choice! Made to feel welcome, staff were friendly without being "over the top".
Food and accommodation both excellent No
Excellent food at both breakfasts and dinners. Pleasant bar area.
Guest House has great character as rooms we stayed were in the old part of the house with oak beams and floorboards that creaked. Bed was modern and comfortable. Appreciated the use of a refrigerator and supply of real milk for the tea and coffee making as opposed to UHT.
Good facilities exceptional breakfast
Very comfortable and friendly stay, great breakfasts.
Clean & cosy, all necessary facilities, friendly, massive english breakfast
Location, close to centre of Clare and easy access to East Anglia. Welcoming staff, comfortable room and bed. The wi-fi signal could be stronger.
Very clean and modern facilities but with lots of character, owners very pleasant and breakfast was good. No bad points
A quiet location close to the centre of a lovely Suffolk village, friendly, comfortable with a superb breakfast provided.
Relaxed atmosphere. Old world charm Felt bit rushed having to leave at 10am 11 would be better. No fresh fruit at breakfast limited choice at breakfast
Cuisine was on a par with Raymond Blanc Restaurant in Cheltenham, menu choice, wine and real ale, plus service was excellent, with staff in all areas being very friendly. We went for a horse racing and shopping weekend break - the location was spot on and staff were happy to organise our travel and provide tips and knowledge of the area. Great time and the stay made that possible as well. We'll be back again. Shower unit could be improved to a power shower set up - but not an issue, as shower worked and nice to have a bath as well.
The hotel was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was a very full english and the staff were pleasant and helpfull
Friendly staff, food very good
Excellent team whose customer service was fantastic without exception. The restaurant was a revelation didn;t expect the standard of cuisine which was some of the best I have experienced The accommodation was looking very tired and is well overdue for a refurb very 80's in style therefore I thought the room rate of £90 was expensive,
It was a pleasure to stay at The Golden Boar. The whole place was clean and very comfortable and the staff most obliging. The food was quite outstanding. None
The Staff at The Golden Boar Inn Could not have been more Accommodating or Helpful.Even when my lady friend complained that she was cold at night(when heating went off) the landlord arranged for the heating in our rooms to be left on all night
Clean-ish Smell of old carpets? Dogs? Very, very basic and old-fashioned.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. I did not have time to have a proper meal as I was busy. I am certain that they will provode a good meal. The shower did not work properly. I have informed the manger, who will take adequate measures to correct this.
Very clean accommodation both in the bedrooms and restaurant None
Tea/coffee making facilities provided. The place was clean. Staff were friendly. No breakfast included. Room was cold. Check in was at the restaurant underneath the guest house. Sunday morning no staff were available to ask for information.
It was a lovely room in a wonderful building. Very clean and full of character. No toilet paper, major problem. I had to go to the Lamb to use their toilet on Sunday morning.
Room had lots of character... lovely beams English lacking from staff
The beds were comfortable, the shower efficient and it was in a very good location (200 metres fron cathedral) No breakfast (although on b&b guides), no shower gel, minimal tea and coffee facilities
There is no breakfast but readily available on high street.
This is not a hotel. It is beds, with no breakfast, right in the very centre of the beautiful Cathedral City of Ely, in Cambridgeshire. My niece's wedding was in St Mary's Church, and the Ely Guest House is on St Mary's Street, and also a stone's throw from The Lamb Hotel, where the reception took place. I had breakfast at this hotel!! I could not have chosen a handier place, given that I travelled by train, and therefore was on foot. Also, quite unplanned by me, my single room was changed for a double - plenty of room for my long legs!! This Is not a complaint. a small building in the centre fo an ancient Cathedral City, is itself going to be ancient. The Ely Guest House seemed to be of half-timber construction, with little narrow stairs. I am now older, and found this not very easy....
central location. comfortable bed and warm room. could only access one channel on the tv. ensuite bathroom very cramped.quite expensive in comparison to other hotels stayed in.
It advertised itself as B&B, but does not provide breakfast!
It is very convenient, being 2 minutes walk away from the cathedral and the shops There were no bathroom facilities in the room, not even a washbasin.
Roomy, central, Saw no staff in the hotel! Person at restaurant showed us in, but we were unsure that this was a member of staff. Front door regularly left open, and felt vulnerable as hall was unattended and gave access to rooms so anyone from the street could enter unhindered.
