It was quiet, peaceful, with delightful staff and excellant standard of food. The hotel was built recently and furnished in a very unusual style, mainly white, grey with a splash of red. The whole ambiance was relaxing and away from the hub of the nearby fishing village, but near enough to walk to. We liked the whole atmosphere and good facilities. It has an indoor swimming pool and a hot tub outside, which cost extra. Maybe, the avalibility of the hot tub should be included in the price.
the bedroom was very comfortable and well-maintained and the reception staff were helpful and friendly I did not like the restaurant. The menu was far too limited for the price and the cooking was only just adequate
Close to town, parking, friendly staff, large room Facilities not as expected for 4* - eg no tea/coffee/mini bar in room, TV channels limited.
Very clean and good location. Lack of surfaces to place books etc and no coat hooks
Location in a beautiful town, close to the sea-front. Nice garden. Very pleasant staff Difficult to see how the hotel justified a four star rating - very little provided in room, no mini-bar, no water, no tea/coffee facilities. No newspaper service offered. TV limited to a few French terrestrial channels - no international news access. Decoration in floor to ceiling white a little hard to take. Hotel is difficult to find - total lack of signage a real suurprise in France.
Friendly staff - nothing too much trouble It is a bit pricey
cleanliness and good sized room. Breakfast buffet poor especially when it costs 18 euros per person. Dinner menu at 39 euros for three courses very disappointing, only eat there if you have a poor appetite and lots of money!!
Excellent breakfast, comfortable clean and spacious room with a good view. Good car parking.A very easy drive (1 hour) from Calais. The Sunday morning market in St Valery sur Somme was a real bonus for our weekend visit. A selection of first class restaurants close by and lots of outdoor activities around St Valery means that we will return to the Hotel Picardia in the near future. Absolutely no complaints
It is very comfortable, easily accessible and conveniently near a parking space. Everything is excellent but it will be preferable if at breakfaxt buffet, coffee and hot drinks are served by staff at the table. Clients normally likes their coffee hot; when serve at the buffet table, it does not render the same pleasure.
The hotel is in a good position for sight seeing in the area. The hotel is very basic, no luxuries but clean and tidy.
The breakfast was very good.
the location is excellent. The breakfast too was very good with lots of choice and buffet so it was easy to help yourself. The room was warm but sparsely furnished. We stayed in the annexe across the courtyard which made me feel a bit like an outsider although there was another room there.
Rooms are basic but adequate, very impressed with the restaurant. Good Service, excellent food. Weather was inclement and very windy, which made it impossible to venture out as the Hotel is somewhat isolated
An informal hotel hotel with friendly staff, located near to a number of places of interest. Good food; excellent value.
A nice hotel with good sized rooms. If you had the bedroom window open, you had to put up with the noise and smell of the kitchen extracter fan.
Friendly staff - good food - clean & comfortable rooms Only showers no bath
With better weather the location would be excellent. The evening meal was superb and rather a surprise at such a remote location. Good parking facilities. Self serve breakfast buffet. Rather difficult to find. Recommend giving gps co-ordinates in advertising. Room was too small for a long stay.
Wonderful restaraunt at the hotel. It is a little out of town
Hotel was very basic for the cost and the food in the restaurant was very expensive, We orredred a seak and that was all we got nothing else to go with it. Will not stay there again.
The location. The food. The fact that we had a ground-floor room. The surrounding countryside. We did not have time to see the town apart from a short drive as we left the town but it seems a nice town. Detailed directions on hotel location sent to us would have been helpful - it was difficult to find and after a long journey from England we were very tired.
Hotel clean and tidy and staff friendly. Thought that the cost of breakfast was a bit high.
Spotlessly clean linen. loved the dining room. Food excellent, service very good. Breakfast not available until 08.15. For that reason we had to forgo the meal. This is surpising, because the hotel is an obvious one to choose in view of its situation one hour from Calais for people like us breaking the long journey from holiday destinations before using the Shuttle.
