The location was next to the ferry to Troia and near a lot of restaurants, shops and bars, the breakfast room had a nice view, I had two windows in my room (corner) and in general the value/price is high. Nothing exceptional, good or bad. Not an hotel to stay in the room or lobby, but on the other hand you don't need to do it in this town.
The position in the towncentre of Setubal. Parking facilities would have been appreciated
Nice hotel with a nice swimming pool. Hotel is close to railway station, but only a couple of trains per hour so not a lot of noise.
Good honest value and in a grat location to explore the region, which boast pleanty of activities for a week-end break. It was what I was expecting from the hotel, during a business trip to Portugal.
Location. Bed and pillow were unconfortable. The room was cold and there was no extra blanket. Much noise from the street (no double glazing on the windows).
central situation, beautiful view, pequeno almoco wardrobe doors
Everything! Super hotel in ideal location
Roome service, very clean, nice staff, good place
super value and location
Big rooms, clean, balcony with nice view in the golf courts.
It's brand new. Great landscapes They were still fixing some last details since they opened recently. Swimming pool and spa weren't available
The views from the room. The friendliness of staff. The parking facility.Value for money.
relaxed ambience. Rather disappointed that sauna and gymnasium are not yet available although they are advertised.
Perfect settings. Need more help for two staff in Kitchen/Restaurant but still good.
Hotel is new and in a modern style. Rooms have a good size and a beautiful view to the golf course. Very calm due to the location. Good breakfast buffet, but we did not like the coffee. Good ratio of price and performance. The indoor pool and sauna is not lighted in the evening and the whirlpools smelt strange.
Much better than we expected for the price Make sure you print of accurate directions or you will get lost!
We were playing golf there the morning following our stay so it was very convenient and a good price. Dinner was very reasonable with a good menu. The pillows. Ruined an otherwise comfortable nights sleep. The bar was poor as no tonic in the hotel. never come across this in any hotel even in war zones.
Very friendly staff. (Ex: The guy at the reception heatened our baby bottle at 3 am and offered me a coffee.) The hotel was very hard to find, even with the description...
Wonderful new golf hotel. Magnific rooms with an incredible view on the green. We don't play golf but now we're thinking about... Excellent breakfast. Really very elegant.
Very friendly staff, always helpful, nice pool, good breakfasts. Bed could have been a little more comfortable, pillows were not enough or too much!
perfect buffet breakfast at 8 euro only
Friendly atmosphere Good staff, Room layout
excellent breakfast, always clean, good for children-enoght space for playing not convinient without a car,the ocean is realy far by feet, too expensive taxi
Too far from everything
the overall ambiance was very caring but professional at the same time nothing - excellent
Very Proffesional and courteous staff. Excellent room service. Tidying the room and linen changes done at a very convenient time (around 12 - 14.00 hrs) daily. Excellent pool. Lunch and Dinner Buffet average but fairly priced. Good and secure parking facilities.Small but safe children play area with X-Box (!) and free acess to a computer. Great package in a very convenient part of Setubal ( esp road acess to Lisbon) Recommended! Lunch and Dinner menus might be a little more varied for the discerning client that does not want to queue for their dinner. Cocktails and Bar service a little bit overpriced. Aircon a little bit "tired" Nothing to dislike! If there was a problem that the staff could do something about then 10/10 they would!
very friendly staff, very good brekfast Unconfortable pillows
excellent location if you come with a car, easy to get in and out of highway. good professional staff, comfortable rooms, fast internet - our stay was just perfect.
No welcome at all, loudly cleaning ladies, unexperienced staff at reception, poor breakfast quality, stern and unfriendly circumstances, slipping carpets, dirty walls. It is an absolutely overpriced accommodation.
Everything. It's a charming place.
The location and views were breathtaking. None
The place, the simpathy of the staff and the breakfast.
The room was beautiful, and the staff was friendly. It was fun to explore the ruins. There was a smell coming from the bathroom, liked backed up sewer, that made it really unpleasant to enter the bathroom. Also, we had been told that there would be breakfast "to go" for us in the morning due to our early departure, but the staff there in the morning didn't know about anything about it, so we just left without breakfast.
It was very special to stay in this historical place, we enjoyed it!!
Unique setting on top of the hill, great view, very good breakfast, computer for the free use of clients, close to Setúbal and seaside Slow reception service, staff not informed about surroundings and transport connections, very slow taxi service (not run by the hotel, of course, but it would be polite to tell if you have to wait for a taxi half an hour when leaving), insects in the room
Beautiful experience - Easy parking
The surroundings, the room, the general facilities Sometimes...the staff wasnt the most efficient one.
Beautiful scenery and hotel and very friendly staff.
Very clean hotel, easy to find from directions. Access by car to Setubal was good. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Mattress in room was not comfortable, although bedding and pillows were very good.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and were happy to accommodate our two year old grandson It is close to a main road, which was somewhat noisy.
Very good value/money ratio. No
A good no frills accommodition for one night, excellent breakfast for extra price
very clean and comfortable room. Kind staff, welcome with a glass of wine. Quite away from Setubal but if you go by car no problem, 5 mins drive to downtown
This hotel was last renovated about 20 years ago. Surely in the 90's it looked good, but its 2009 now. We used the elevator once, afterwards we decided to rather use the stairs because it was giving strange noises. The lights were not working on the hallway. I have no idea why they advertise themselves as 5 star...in reality it is a 3 star hotel.
nice hotel steaff: send us the coat, we've forgotten over there, back home :)
Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Overall, the place could do with an update, it was a little 1980's. The first room we had (Junior Suite) had a 'temporary' standalone AC unit that was very very noisy and did not keep the temperature of both rooms cool enough. We could not sleep much that first night, so we moved after the first night to a regular room. I would not expect them to have charged the full price for that first night (but they did) and it would have been better if they did not use that room if it does not have adequate cooling for the height of the summer.
Entire Hotel was in very good condition. Rooms were spotless and extremely spacious. Even the balcony was large and had a nice view of Setubal. The signs leading you into the hotel were well marked until you reached the turn ascending up the hill. All previous signs were raised approximately 8 feet, but the last sign was at ground level. Also, the address as listed is not programmable in google maps. As is pointed out in the description of the hotel, it is not central to Setubal, but the view and amenities compensate for the decentralized location.
The size and decoration of the suite, the general cleanliness! the comfort of the bed. The shower didn't work properly, the hairdryer was ruined.
Nice hotel, nice room, very kind staff, good selection of breakfast, tasty dinner at the hotel restaurant with wonderful view, enough place to park, no problems with air condition or any other equipment of the room. Difficult to find the hotel, address was not in GPS navigation. To put the other road Rua de sao Jorge in navigation could help. Hotel is up the hill in dead end of that street.
No swimmingpool present in the hotel
The situation of the hotel
The reception staff were very knowledgable about the area
very relaxing and quiet
situationof hotel and friendliness of staff
The room space. It was very big. Just that we had to pay 7.5Eur/person to use 1h of pool and sauna...too expensive
Central location with car parking facilities. Very good breakfast. A "dated" shower. Poor quality towels. Air con kept failing.
The scenary and the historic buildings.
the space in the room, was perfect for our purpose. the central location was fit for our target. sometimes very noisy. the breakfast was a bit minimal (no fresh bread? and no real coffee)
Very close to shopping area and night spots. There was no refrigerator or water boiler for coffee in the room.
The staff. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were extremely friendly. The leisure facilities. Basic, small and uninviting. Our shower curtain in our room was a bit smelly.
just a stop over on the way to algarve - but we spend a few hous at the pool.
Apartment was spacious and clean. Pool was good. Breakfast good. Very good value for money There was no air conditioning and no fan. In 40 degrees heat the apartment was not comfortable. The kitchen utensils are extremely limited - there is nothing to make coffee with and not even cups are provided.
The weather Some staff
Nice staff and nice playground for children The room is dusty and smells muffy. Although looks new from the outside but not the inside. Toilets are old and dirty.
Location meant ease of accessibility to areas where our friends live. Breakfast available until 10:30. Light system for maid service. Having to wait to be let in at night on two ooccasions. The hotel would benefit from a proper night porter. No maps available of locality
Very quiet place, and a very nice swimming pool.
The peace and the silence all around. Nice staff. You should draw a map to go there from the highway, or specify the exit and the name of the road to take. It is very difficult to find it as it is in the middle of the country.
The cleanliness and swinmming pool. The helpful personnel, although some were very unexperienced and did not speak any other language but Portugese. Lack of a small shop because of extreme distance to village or city. Some unefficiencies like: - A plastic dragon that is using a lot of energy and making a lot of noice without it being used (would get rid of it) - The lack of direct access from the swimming pool to the bar, for instance a staircase on the slope at the back of the pool touching the terrass. - The location of the icecream-shop. If it were on the terrass of the bar, not only there would be more clientele but also the person sitting now in the middle of nowhere waiting for a rare customer, would be able to help out in the bar. Again, this would increase sales.
Great value, convenient for driving into Lisbon (40km autoroute) None
The hotel facilities and services are good. The road to access the hotel is very bad.
The Hotel was very nice and modern. The pillow was very bad, to small...
The breakfast very nice and the location was excellent value for money. The hotel was nicely decorated.
great staff, they could not do enough for us, excellent food too. our only problem was parking. the underground carpark was inaccessible. Once in we thought we would never get out!
Easy to find The price was too high compared to surroundings and comfort
Good smart, mostly clean hotel, with friendly staff.Sadly, the bedroom, on the last night, was not cleaned properly.Stayed 3 nights, towels not changed. Breakfast quite good, but dinner most disappointing. a strange menu, and not a lot of choice.Sad really, because the staff did their best to please us
Hotel staff was nice. The room was clean and with a nice big bed. The breakfast could be better (please change the brand of the yogurts). I would have prefered a bathtub instead of a shower. A plus also would be free internet.
Well mantained hotel, and a quiet location More variety at breakfast table. The bathroom in the second floor was very low in the bathtub area (the second floor rooms are attic like)
Very good hotel for the price paid. A bit too far from everything and bad sinalization to get there The shower should have a support to hold the rope.
Clubhouse has good and cheap food options The studios have no noise control - could hear neighbours sneeze all night long
very quite The directions to get there are terrible as it is not in Palmela the breakfast was very poor the accomadation was an unsold appartment on a newly built complex
1.) Lack of water- half of our stay. 2.) Once we was additionally charged for small an very poor breakfast prepared at 7:30- breakfast should be included.
The hotel is hard to find and in the middle of a massive low cost housing estate. Most of the resort is empty and managed on a budget. The room was very new and clean, but as you enter you pass a huge pile of rubbish and broken bottles which makes it look worse than it is. The roon we had a1203 had an infestation of ants, we woke up in the middle of the night to find about 50 in bed with us which is surprising for a newly built complex. This happened the next night as well. When I went to checkout they couldn't refund our free night they gave us because they didn't have the money. In the end they found the cash as I refused to leave.
Its perfect for family vacations. Palmela Village Golf Resort have 24 hour security surveilance and the swimming pool is great. Quiet and peacefull. Poor breakfast included with short options to choose for.
The expected services were excellent and great value for money, but personally I found the staff and the way the treated us magnificent. I was really happy to stay at the Albergaria Laitau. Without a doubt one of the best hotel services I have ever experienced (and I have stayed at world reknown hotels!). Not at all...everything was excellent!
a nice place When they say: "Internet access" - it was not possible to buy acces cards for the periode you want - they need to have more cards !!
We were met by a young "man" in scruffy jeans and teeshirt who then brought the "manageress" dressed likewise. The room had seen better days with worn bedding etc. and no no hot water for the whole of our 24hour stay. Likewise the tea and coffee for the breakfast was cold. The hotel is approx. 1 kilometre from the seafront and nowhere locally to eat.It does not deserve its 4 star rating in any way at all.
Very quiet place, Enourmous view for the river, very clean rooms
it is in a beautiful location & having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the River Sado is fabulous. This was my 2nd visit.
Breakfast with a magnificent view overlooking Troia and the beaches. Watching the ferrIes come and go. Lack of information regarding what to do in the area. Not really the hotel's obligation but would have been helpful.
the cleanliness, the view over the seaside and the location. It was excellent, just what we wanted!
Quiet, but well appointed. A very relaxing small hotel with a superb view over the Troia peninsula. It is set in the hills outside Setubal & is well worth seeking out. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Warm, kind welcome, even though we arrived at 10pm due to plane delay; cleanliness; beautiful decor in the house; excellent position with views of the coast.
Peace and quiet with a lovely pool and superb view over the bay Nothing - all excellent
We had the good fortunate to be upgraded to stay in the Windmill accommodation. Overlooking the estuary and Troia, the view was outstanding. The 2 storey accommodation is wonderful and beautifully furnished. The swimming pool area is also lovely.
The location of this place is beyond any imagination. A real hidden treasure. The view, the windmill itself is such a wonderful experience, and the pool and huge playground makes it an outstanding place for children as well.
