Pros: The hosts were warm and welcoming and spoke English which was a huge bonus for us. The breakfast was epic. The pool perfect to dip in and stay cool. The surrounding forest and vineyards beautiful. The decor of properly beautiful and I can not recommend it enough.
Cons: Everything was perfect but note it’s a beautiful B&b. You will need to eat out and ensure you bring any refreshments you will need for your stay..however, no food or drink is allowed in the rooms. When you see them you will understand why. They are perfect and you will feel like you are the first person to sleep there. We had a small child with us and arrived on a Sunday so dinner options were very limited (one restaurant open and a short drive away).

Pros: Very clean and modern. Bed was extremely comfortable, and such a quiet room (ours was on the side of the property with a small terrace). Sauternes is a very pretty village and lovely to wander around. Had we been there longer than one night we would have taken advantage of the bikes available to guests to wander to some vineyards.
Cons: Service at breakfast rather inattentive. Initially felt a little uncomfortable leaving the car in the car park opposite the hotel, but it's a small village and it was fine.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Property was gorgeous, great location in Sauternes. Lovely touch by given sample of the wines grown on the estate. Beautiful views. Staff lovely and helpful.
Cons: Breakfast was a little expensive for what was offered. Should really be included in room rate, a place a this beautiful and classy should offer complimentary continental breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is gorgeous - rlegant house in a sea of vineyards
Cons: Having to leave
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good but the breakfast staff could have been a little more friendly & at the very least speak to the paying guests, not total ally ignoring them!
Cons: The promoted wine tasting was not as expected. One bottle of wine only was presented on a table in the lobby with some glasses. Nothing was explained about the type of wine or any background information regarding the type of grape or grapes used in the manufacture. The quests were left to help themselves as they wished to the one bottle, so anyone arrive later got little or no sample at all to taste. Most unsatisfactory bearing in mind the we were in a very famous wine growing area of France, a little short introduction of the wine & possible a different type again to compare, with some information would have helped tremendously at the tasting! A hugh disappointment which could & can be relatively easily rectified if the proprietors are interested in doing so!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely property in the middle of vineyards. The view from the room (and the bathroom) to die for.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room is full-renovated recently, and breakfast is so nice. The service is perfect. I really appreciate for that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed the rural, quiet setting and certainly enjoyed friendly conversation with Claire. Wonderful recommendation for experiencing regional cuisine at Chez Charlotte made for a perfect ending to a long, somewhat tiring drive from Toulouse on our first day of vacation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The large property of L'Orangerie de Camperos is beautiful, with lots of trees and a view of the vineyards. The rooms are generously sized and the bathroom was big with a bathtub. France was suffering a heat wave when we arrived and the owners were so kind and had installed a temporary AC for us. That was so thoughtful of them. If you're there with teenagers it's worth to go to the lake nearby and go wave boarding. There is a lift for beginners and it was a fun way to cool off on a hot day.
Cons: Can't think of anything.

Pros: The owners (Paul and his wife) made us very welcome and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The location was superb for exploring the lovely little town of Barsac and the local area, with its historical chateaus and vineyards. The dinner cooked at the hotel was excellent. The swimming pool was lovely.
Cons: The room and bathroom, although large, were very cluttered with knicknacks, which left little room for our personal items.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Classic, quirky, olde worlde; our hosts were very friendly and obliging, nothing was too hard and everything done with a sense of humor. Dinner was amazing! As to was the breakfast. The chateau is close to all the major wineries and the railway station to Bordeaux is a 5 minute walk. (39 minutes to Bordeaux)
Cons: We thought it was great.

La Chartreuse des Eyres - Barsac - Building

9.1 Excellent (131 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at La Chartreuse des Eyres in Podensac, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Maison des Vins de Graves and Chateau de Chantegrive. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It is a beautiful property in the bordelais countryside. The owner was very nice and accommodating.
Cons: We arrived in a heatwave and tho its an old stone construction it was very hot with no air conditioning (these old properties rarely do). We suffered and recommend to check the weather pattern when you book. Also the little town is without interest or a good restaurant so we had to take the car to Cadillac (next village) where we ate at CÔTÉ JARDIN which was excellent.
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely property and hosts.
Cons: Podensac is very quiet and is a 'one street' location so nothing to do!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated and very large rooms. Feels like having your own small chateau! The owner Valerie is just amazingly sweet and hospitable and the breakfast is delicious.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This place is close to Bordeaux. Room was clean and we got a cooler room downstairs. We were the only clients and it was exciting to stay alone at the castle
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The most outstanding feature of this chambre d'hote was the welcoming and helpful nature of the hostess / owner. She spoke excellent English and I could have stayed and chatted with her for hours before I set off on the rest of my journey north.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: The “restaurant” next door, “Chez Charlotte”. We had two confit de canard, totally over cooked, almost carbonized, with a glass of recommanded Pessac Leognan, from the area, with no bouquet, no perfume, no taste, no corps, just a goût de vinasse. Little Charlotte should go back in her boudoir.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We did the half board option and it was fantastic. Breakfast and dinner included. The dinner was amazing and I would recommend this option as it was so beautiful and value for money.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Luxury stay in an elegant Chateau with generous rooms and a delicious breakfast. The location is in a quiet side street but within walking distance of restaurants and the railway station on the line to Bordeaux.
Cons: The owner never replied to e-mails sent via booking.com
les Ormeaux - Sauternes - Bedroom

9.0 Excellent (87 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Sauternes, Les Ormeaux is in a rural location, a 4-minute drive from Chateau Filhot and 7 minutes from Chateau de Fargues. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Eric and Isabelle are wonderful hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our table d'hote dinner and evening with them and other guests. They were most helpful regarding places to visit locally. The hotel location is ideal for touring the vineyards and chateaux of the Sauternes aea. A hotel we will certainly stay in again when next in France.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome and assistance...Lovely
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was excellent. A clean and tidy room and our hosts were very helpful.
7.1 Good
Pros: Rooms are simple, yet clean and functional. Good value for money if you're looking for a no-frills kind of lodging.
Cons: Our hosts did not speak English well, so there were a few misunderstandings at times - especially during breakfast. I speak some French and tried to ask for a chocolate croissant, but it appeared like the owners did not want to give us more food than what they had "allocated" to us (i.e. 1 croissant, butter stick, half baguette, coffee and milk). We managed to get some jam thanks to a French couple that saw the scene and kindly passed it on to us. Also, it is not clear from the description on Booking that is is not a B&B, but rather a bar/tobacco that offers rental rooms - so just be aware of that.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Les Ormeaux is a few rooms above Sauternes' one and only (?) combination bar, tabac, newsstand and souvenir shop. Ours was clean, quiet and comfortable with a view over the town square, our friend's also, except with a view over the countryside at the back. The welcome was warm and breakfast, served in the bar, was simple, but good. Recommended.
Cons: The closest open restaurant required driving, as it was just far enough away that we didn't fancy walking back along the narrow country road in the dark for fear of getting run over.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was perfect but the homemade local dinner was really good and interesting to have the discussion with some local people. We really enjoyed our time with Isabelle and Eric.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really nice B&B! Nice room, good food, you should go there!!
Cons: Alles goed
10.0 Excellent

Cons: NOTHING
10.0 Excellent

Domaine De Valmont - Barsac - Bedroom

8.0 Excellent (107 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Barsac, Domaine de Valmont is in a rural location, within a 10-minute drive of Château du duc d'Épernon and Chateau Venus. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location, attentive staffs, very quiet and relaxing stay. Good parking space. Easy drive to Bordeaux town. There are many chateaux around. It was easy to go visit the wineries.
Cons: It would have been nice to have AC in all the rooms. One fan/humidifier was provided, if there was one per room it would have been better.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great ambience, lovely grounds and excellent rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Full of character. Makes a great change to the usual chains.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in the winery. Spacious rooms, with equally spacious bathrooms, nicely decorated. Perfect place to spend couple of days in Barsac!
5.8 Okay
Cons: We arrived for dinner at 7.30pm (opening time). We have a one year old child and wanted to eat before putting her to bed. When we arrived there was noone else in the restaurant. We ordered our starter and main meal at same time (they give you two options for each). By the time we had eaten our starters the restaurant had filled up. We then waited an hour and a half for our main meal while every other diner was served before us. We complained three times about the slow service particularly as we had a child and wanted to put her to bed but the staff continued to ignore us. We would have walked out and gone somewhere else had it not been for the fact the hotel is isolated and the were no other options nearby.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A stay in a French chateau built around 1795 was an experience we were eager to try and this one didn't disappoint. The owner speaks good English and is more than helpful. The rooms are good and quite large. A very good overall experience.
Cons: The wifi isn't the best...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and grounds are just beautiful! We arrived late after changing plans in the Dordogne so enjoyed a couple of drinks on the terrace (but no dinner). Our waitress spoke very good English and was an excellent host. The hotel and our room was spotlessly clean, bright and spacious. The bed was large and very comfortable with air conditioning too! We were told that there was a wedding the following day - I can definitely see the attraction as a wedding venue. Very romantic and peaceful!
Cons: Not really a dislike but our room was an odd mix! The main room was lovely but the bathroom very dated and a bit tired; there were a couple of holes in the wall in the bathroom too. We had a kitchenette in our room which might have been useful for a longer stay but again did not really 'fit' in with the room and the refrigerator was quite loud as you were trying to fall asleep.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff, comfort
