All the staff makes you feel comfortable No
Very high up in the mountains. Long trip, difficult to find. But very cheap!
The immediate coutryside is fantastic for walking and very near Lake Locarno
Charming staff -an excellent choice
food ,staff ,place, all fab fab fab !!!!!
Excellent hotel for families with young children. They really do cater for the kids in every possible way. Fantastic location with great lake views. Rooms were large and functional but not luxurious. This hotel would be fantastic in summer with its location, pools and lake side. Not so in cooler weather however. The main diningroom is a little small when the hotel is full, forcing guests to wait for tables.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms were very nice, with fantastic views of the lake and mountains, and the hotel was very child friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Since the moment of the arrival till going home it has been the most wonderful time spent.I had already reserved a number of massage sessions in the Wellness & Beauty center of the hotel. My day started with a swim in the pool, then breakfast.By the way here I had had the most wonderful breakfast!!!The Wellness centre is well considered with a contemporary design and choice of relaxing color.I liked the anti stress massage most. It was done with candles of Shea butter. Shea butter was slowly melted with the heat of candles on my skin combining it with a massage. It made me feel very pleasant and relaxed. Before departure I booked myself for the Well-being week in autumn to make trip home easy!Fantastic SPA Holidays!!!
Nice location too focused on German customers
Service was impeccable. The resort was a true oasis and the staff did everything to make our stay enjoyable. The scope of children and adult activities was very impressive. We had a wonderful time and would certainly return, hopefully, for a longer stay.
Very friendly staff, excellent accommodation with good views good facilities
The perfect combination of a 4-5 star hotel (for the parents) with a child-friendly environment. The diner formula is simply the best I ever encountered.
The facilities for the children were fantastic. They have the best tube slide so this was the main focus for my sons age 6 and 9. Breakfast was lovely. The sheer amount of facilities for families is brilliant and the best I have come accross. Views from rooms are beautiful. Staff are friendly. The suite had a kitchen area with nothing in it, so no kettle or cups, this ws annoying and meant you didn't have flexibility. The info in the rooms could have been better so that we could have made the most of it.
The room was excellent, the view is also nice. Quite a thing if you want a middle of the moutain hotel. Some noises over the roof in the night, SCARY!
Good atmosphere, friendly people, lovely place Lacked a sitting room
This hotel was a real find, it was more like staying in a country house with very welcoming hosts. All the staff were friendly and knowledgable and couldn't do enough for you (in a very understated way). It's an idyllic spot with plenty to do if your like the outdoors. It is only a 15 minute drive to lake Como. The hotel restaurant was a very pleasant surprise, the standard of food topped some of the best restaurants in London. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and it's restaurant. Nothing
Breakfast, hotel design, very beautiful gardens, friendly staff Very far away from civilization, however, good location if you want sports (golf) and enjoy nature
Friendly and helpful staff, quiet and comforatble rooms, excellent food. Country-style luxury ambience. Creaking iron bedstead
Hosts very friendly. Although we have been quite unlucky with the whether they have been busy with suggesting alternatives.rich breakfast and extremely nice staff. Good quality restaurant inhouse.
Freindly & helpful stafd. The location
The beauty of the property, the peacefulness and quiet, the accomodating staff, the in-house restaurant for dinner and the inclusive breakfast was very lovely. Nothing!
very quiet place, nice atmosphere, lost in the mountains, huge garden very practical for dogs, tasty restaurant , not far from Milano and Lugano not easy to reach
Great staff, very friendly. Excelent break fast. No minibar available. The hotel is too far from the city and it is dificult to get there. There is nothing close to the hotel (restaurants, bars, shops, etc)
The lakeside location; comfortable and large bedroom; the maitre d'hotel and waiters were very attentive. No tea/ coffee making facilities. The bus/ boat schudules were irregular, so I would recommensd a car for transport.
The lake view was magnificent Though it is absolutely not a business hotel but only couples stay there, there is no double bed at all in the whole hotel and even the twin bed are sliding apart. The bathroom was broken and not fixed during the 3 days. They ask surcharge for the eggs for breakfast, which is a rather cheap thing to do (and only told us the 2nd day)
The location Very indifferent staff
location is great, friendly staff everything was perfect
great location and nice service The road to the hotel is narrow .
The room was neat. The vue of the lake was great. Short of parking space. Breakfast could be richer.
Breath taking view, clean air, nice people, the place to relax
Friendly family staff; excellent breakfast fully laid out even for a few guests on the last night of the season; wonderful views over lake; quiet; lovely terrace for dinner and breakfast. Room is fairly small but properly equipped; limited TV channels (we had heavy rain!) .
Although the hotel is further from city life the view was breathtakingly beautiful, and restful. The gardens were stunning as well as the decor in the sitting areas in the hotel where guests can enjoy a glass of wine and cheese inside or out. We very much enjoyed this part of Italy staying further out from Lugano. The staff was considerate and helpful. We enjoyed hiking around the villages and into the hills. You can rent a beautiful wood boat for a leisure ride on the lake, too. Many generations of family have owned this hotel; you will enjoy the dining experience in the restaurant. The meals were sumptuous and beautifully prepared. The staff was friendly and happy. Great ambience. Thank you Hotel Stella D'Italia. No complaints. We even loved Maria who helped us with bus tickets across the narrow road.
Our room had a wonderful terrace overlooking the lake and mountains. It was delightful sleeping with the terrace doors open at night, hearing the ducks, owls, etc., across the lake. It was a very beautiful and peaceful setting. We felt that the front desk staff, while responsive to our questions, did not ever elaborate to provide additional appropriate information. We did not feel especially welcome, except for the restaurant wait staff and the bellman.
Very friendly people and a fantastic restaurant with excellent authentic food. The restaurant in the glass conservatory was lovely and the atmosphere was vibrant and authentic italian,
the hotel provides a wonderful panorama to the lake comer, there is a small chapel next to it and the morning view with lake and grass is indeed mind blowing. hotel restaurant offers authenticated italian food, most of the visitors are locals, and food is great. not easy to find it, our navi almost led our car to crash.
Very friendly and helpfull proprietor. Excellent cooking. The hotel has obviously had a lot of investment in the infrastructure and the quality really shows. It is located in a quiet location away from the busy roads and train lines around Lake Maggiore. Barking dog through the night spoiled the advantage of the quiet location.
Charming, quiet hotel about a 10 minute drive up the mountain from Lake Como. Large, clean, and comfortable room. Good buffet breakfast, and popular dinner restaurant in evening frequented mainly by locals. From hotel, great views further up mountain and also down to village of Argegno, on the lake, from which there is a good ferry service to all around Lake Como.
nice surroundings, picturesque environment and an excellent restaurant with local specialities but international wines; great views from the garden only Italian is spoken, breakfast was finished at 9.30 on a Sunday morning
Our stay was first rate in every respect. We were attending a wedding in Argegno so did not use the facilities at La Griglia as much as we might otherwise have done.
Hotel restaurant serve really delicious food with good value of money. I had the best spagetti that I ever had before. I notice that even local people come to have dinner here. Hotel location itself is on the hill with lake view and have a nice garden. Only 25 mins walk to city center.
It gives you the feeling of isolation up in the mountains and still it is cloce to the town and the lake. The atmosphere is of a big lovely family. No
Too many to mention, the hotel, staff, accommodation, food, scenery, room, decor, value for money all excellent, will reccomend highly and look forward to staying there again None
Our stay at La Torre was made special by the wonderful and energetic hostess who speaks multiple languages fluently and who takes time to chat with each guest/group of guests individually. The room itself was spacious and clean. Our room was at the front and this can make it a bit noisy due to the road that runs right in front of the hotel. However, it's a mountain road, so not too busy during the night.
The restaurant is excellent as well as the hotel staff. Breakfast was also good. Good value for money and the staff really do their utmost to make your stay as convenient as possible.
Beautiful location, very children friendly, excellent food, friendly staff, clean, nice room with fantastic view. After 8 straight holiday-days with rain in Norway, we wanted to escape to somewhere warm and nice, where our kids aged 2 and 5 could enjoy themselves. This hotel was the perfect choice. Now we are back in the rain, wish we had stayed longer. No.
+ The friendlyness of the hotel manageress is first class + Room No. 4 is very "tranquillo" (silent room), we can recommend the hotel to everyone. Safe car parking warranted. Nice garden with pool. The italian style food in the restaurant made our mouth water.
Analisa , the hotel manager is an amazing woman !!!!! the rooms are clean , the food ( breakfast and dinner ) is tasty , to make this short : this the place that I will come back
Good hotel, the manager really wants you to feel at home and will do her utmost!
Andreea’s hospitality and friendliness, knowledge of the area and helpfulness in providing directions, traffic details and area events, etc; Location- up in the mountains but only 7 km from Lake Como, great view of the surrounding mountains ; excellent restaurant and service; private parking- very rare feature for most of the hotels in the area. The rooms facing the mountains are the best, where the rooms facing the road(great view from the balcony!) may be affected a bit by the noise of the traffic. Noisy bathroom exhaust fans!!!( in process of being fixed!)
Great place, excellent staff and service. Very reasonable prices in the restaurant. The recommended direction to reach the hotel coming from Switzerland leads you via very small and winded mountain roads. Difficult for larger cars and easy to get lost. Much easier to come up from Como - even if 10 km longer.
The rooms are very clear. The dinner is delicious. The manager,Anna-Lisa is very polite and helpful. We made a new friend. We'll strongly recommend this hotel to all our friends. The place is unique. We promise to visit it again. It would be much better if the price of appartments included cleaning service.
Good; the staff were very friendly, and Argegno is an excellent central location on Lake Como! It wasn't quite 5 star, but then I wasn't paying *that* much cash...
The owner was friendly The TV in the room is so small and old.
The room was very clean and comfortable (great bed), and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was included and was good. The bathroom was very clean and the shower had fantastic water pressure. Overall, a great place to stay for those on a budget.
The room was clean, good view of the lake from our balcony, free breakfast that was pretty good in the morning.
We were pleasantly surprised with the accomodations at the hotel argegno. our balcony rooms on the second fllor gave us an awesome view of lake como.
Good place in a small quiet town near Lugano. Good room with a balcony. Beautiful view on a lake from a balcony. Friendly personnel. Free parking. There is the free Wi-fi internet access.
the location, the view, the little kitchen in the bedroom and the gardens there were no toiletries, a bit expensive, although it was a studio, not a hotel room.
Amazing location, the view was fantastic. Great accomodations and excellent meals! even a wild deer in the backyard. Such a nice place. Bit of a white knuckle drive to get there with the narrow winding roads...but it's worth it in the end!!!
Beautiful view The owners and managers didn't speak any English. It was very difficult to communicated
We did like the place, the garden, the rooms, the view, the acces to the beach (lake side)
The residence is ok. Not the most confortable but reasonnable. The garden and the view are great. We did not checked the restaurant, but it looks also good. Internet not always connected, even not in the "common parts".
Good...Nice Staff. Good restaurant just in front ! Good value for money.
Beautiful restaurant - lovely food and a lovely setting. Loved the chairs and tables dotted around outside - useful even in October! No wine glasses in the appartment and a good dust before our arrival would have made the place look clean.
The room was large and very nice great for a family. They didn't speak much English but it wasn't much of a problem.
The location is so amazing. The rooms are fairly sized. The bads and pillowes where not so comfortable and the room could use some cleaning.
It was situated in a pleasant, quiet area. The food was excellent and do try at least one evening meal at the hotel.
A very friendly hotel in a nice location just up the hills from the village. The food was very good and they had an excellent wine celler were you could taste some gret wines,
nice uphill location with a fantastic view to the Lago di Como, good breakfast, quiet, spacious bathroom missing mosquito net at the windows, rooms could be a little bit bigger, paper thin walls,
Friendliness and service were excellent. Good menu and nice wine cellar 'bar'. The location in the mountains was ideal. Air conditioning was not effective but it was not really necessary.
We liked everything about Hotel Corte Santa Libera. The hotel is very well kept, clean, modern and the room was very comfortable. The room was very spacious and we had a wonderful view from our hotel room. The owner is very friendly and tries his very best to make you feel at home. Even the breakfast was very good and it is very value for money. I will definitely recommend it to other people. The only thing is its location. If you are coming with the car, the gps will drive you from the Lugano side and it is a bit difficult to find. It is better if you come from the Como route.
This is an amazingly beautiful resort! Everything about it is fantastic. We tried to stay on Lake Como but nothing was available that we wanted and could afford. Lugano is not far from Como and the short trip was so worth it. We were not traveling with children but this is a wonderful resort for children with all kinds of facilities for them. This hotel is an amazing value for the money! No. We loved everything about this hotel!
the location is more than great, the staff is nice and the rooms are great. the fact you had to pay extra for the fire place and that they charge 7.5 (!!!) euro for wire less internet.
Loved everything about this place. Stayed in a superior room with a fireplace and small balcony. Great views of the mountainside, especially on the hiking trails. Dinner at the onsite restaurant was great, fresh ingredients and romantic atmosphere. The breakfast was a typical Italian buffet breakfast but with special touches like the fresh grapes and honey. Staff/owners were very friendly and accomodating, including their bear sized dog. Definitely use the coordinates in your gps, the roads on the way there a veeerry small and twisty. Although the drive is difficult, it is more than worth it!
Great Service, great food, great views, I enjoyed every aspect of the stay. I recommend taking z good walk around the farm to meet the animals :) It is a long drive to the Hotel but the road is a nice adventure.
The ambiance of the place is just wonderful, owners and people who work on the farm are friendly and really kind and a great laugh. Position is just fabulous right up in the hills around Como. You can't see the lake but there are great walks starting very near the B&B that take you to great views across the lake (you have to be a bit fit), with little refuges where you can get a good coffee (of course!) and a bun. The food in the B&B could not be better almost all sourced from the farm, home cooked and fantastic value. The breakfast with its homemade cakes yum yum.. Its 5 steep miles uphill from the lake and when your on a bike thats a bit of a disadvantge :o)
very friendly, good people, lovely local food , very rural but non the worse for that. good value for money, room was warm and cosy, not too fussy- just right.
The view is very beautiful, the place is quiet and peaceful, breakfest is homemade and very good, the location is close to Como lake (about 10 minutes by car). The room is a bit small.
Rare location for disposal of hotel, very beautiful scenery, nice view, pretty wild place. Kind hosts, who served homemade and delicious food. Pleasant conditions in the hotel section. Very difficult access to the hotel, especially at night, a narrow road with many bends.
Friendly personnel, with nice rooms and a good atmosphere. Nice fresh products (from the farm). A nice place to be.
Staff people The bed was "double bed" but it had two mattress, therefore it was not confortable
The hotel was in an interesting area in the hills surrounding lake Como. However I feel that this hotel would have been better described as a working farm. Unfortunatley you get things that are associated with farms such as flies and other unwelcome noises and smells. However there was a good atmosphere with very helpful staff.
The management was very friendly and efficient Slow repleniidhment of single jug of juice at breakfast, which did not vary from day to day; lacvk of any fruit at breakfast
the helpfulness of the staff and the tourist menus Could not boil a kettle in the room without fusing the electrics of the room
Beautiful lakefront rooms with balcony and incredible views of lake and mountains. Great food, great location and personable staff. Pablo was a great help during our stay. No
We loved the Hotel Europa. The reviews we read all rated the hotel excellent but complained about the difficulty in getting there. We say "get over it!" Obviously, these folks have little experience driving Italian roads, especially through the mountains. Yes, it's windy and at the far end of Lake Lugano, but well worth the trip. We spent 2 relaxing days there, after 8 days driving through Germany and Italy. The room had a spectacular view of the lake. The staff were wonderful--this is a family owned hotel, father and son, the son runs the hotel and the father is the chef. We ate dinner at the hotel both nights--very reasonable and some of the best food we had eaten in Italy. They even saved our opened bottle of wine to finish the next evening. We highly recommend the hotel--the lake front rooms are limited, so the farther you book in advance and make that request, would probably be best. We were there ahead of season, so it wasn't a problem. The only thing we missed was a refrigerator.
The wonder view of the lake from my balcony The road to the hotel as pointed out in another review was narrow, in some areas but the view while driving to the hotel from Lugano was breath-taking and marvelous. If I can drive it anyone can!!!
The hotel was not heated.
Wonderful location and very warm welcome.
The location is attractive with sw aspect and should have been good but Porlezza is a very disappointing town and there was no life along the waterfront The hotel was "dead" and had a horrible end-of-season feel about it. The management were not interested in guests' well-being and were greedy. Guests were tolerated rather than made welcome. The restaurant was effectively closed. I asked for a bowl of soup but this was served only very reluctantly. I had booked a week there but stayed only 4 days, and that was 4 days too long. I moved to a far superior comfortable hotel in Menaggio on Lake Como at less cost, paying 60 euros per night b&B. The Hotel Europa price was a rip-off for its inferior service and rooms. other guests at the hotel europa left prematurely too, similarly being willing to forfeit a night's penalty just to escape!!! This hotel brings discredit to Booking.com.
Nice rooms with nice breakfast. Hotel owner is nice too. Bathroom is too small
Nice hotel staff with wonderful lake view and very nice and helpful staff. Breakfast was poor.
Fabio, the owner, is a friendly and wonderful host who loves to share thoughts about Italy and especially food. A charming guy who makes you feel at home. The rooms are pretty thin-walled, but that is only a minor complaint since our baby was the one making the noise!
The location was amazing and Fabio (the owner) was great. Definitely recommend having dinner in their restaurant as well! The walls were a bit thin and we had noisy people next door.
Very relaxing location. Highly recommend the restaurant.
Fabio was an excellent host and made us feel as if we were spending time with friends. He went out of his way to be hospitable and to make suggestions for a day trip. The food at the hotel was outstanding and very reasonably priced. After a busy day of sightseeing it was wonderful to come back to the hotel for a lovely home cooked meal with a charming host recommending good wine to go with the meal.
Very rustic room, familiar ambience and extraordinary food.
The quite location and tasteful presentation of the property and the availability of a restaurant. The room was very dark with few windows. The restaurant was unavailable on a Sunday. One of the meals we had was inedible.
It is our second time in this hotel, and we again enjoyed it very much. Very near to the Como lake, very familiar, very clean and nice food!
Arhitecture of hotel-local area-driving to the hotel-room-food-staff.
Fresh picked raspberries for breakfast, nice secluded hotel in the countryside along a creek. Old world style. Secure parking. Facilities are new with an old look to them. Very nice. Fun road to drive to get to the hotel. Everything was excellent. A little out of the way, but that is the idea. Bring a GPS.
The hotel was really fresh and the staff was very nice. The mountain view was breathtaking. The properties around the hotel did not match the feeling of the hotel.
