Ideally situated in the Rioja region and also handy for the short trip to Bilbao to catch the lunchtime ferry home.
Staff were very friendly. Childrens inside play area. WiFi in hotel did not go out to pool area.
Really nice hotel - good service, friendly staff and all the facilities you need - the bar was open late and breakfast good. Also the restaurant upstairs is pretty good and good value. The only downside is that the hotel is situated a bit away from the town - about a 15 minute walk but it is seriously uphill on the way there. But we drove up the hill and could park easily and for free.
Free use of the internet. Personel taste, but the decor of the room is of an individual taste and would not be ours.
this is our second visit to this hotel, we found as previously clean and comfortable accomodation. the location was fantastic, good access to the town and local area my only disapointment was that the main restaurant was not available on sunday evenings, the alternative was food offered in the bar area, which was a limited menu.
The food was excellent - chef very gifted. everything was great - loved our stay in Laguardia so much we extended by 2 extra days
Free parking (if you don't use their underground garage). Swimming pool & less than a 10 minute walk to the beautiful old town
Excellent location to tour La Rioja region in Spain. Reception staff extremely helpful in arranging access to local wineries closed due to a national strike.
An efficient and helpful reception. The room was comfortable and clean, with a good outlook. A good buffet breakfast. In a bar with only one other customer, who seemed to be a friend of the barman, being totally ignored when we entered and tried to order - the long conversation with the barman's friend being obviously of greater importance. My wife was given the smallest measure of wine I have ever seen poured in Spain. Later, a Spanish couple queried the smallnes of the wine measure, and were told that it was the Internationally agreed measure! We asked at reception to see the restaurant menu, but when we wanted to dine were told the restaurant was closed and we would have to eat in the bar cafe. The food was cold and unpalatable, and overpriced.
Being an Architect what brought me to this hotel was obviously the design by Frank Ghery. On arrival I was taken aback by the setting and a scenery.Rooms are beautiful and very comfortable.
unique hotel with fantastic facilites and service but at a price few can afford very limited common area around the hotel. all usable space is perhaps unsprisingly vineyards.
everything.the staff was excellent.so nice and trying to help in every single detail. So profesional. nothing.absoLutely perfect in any case.
The location and design of the buildings are excellent, the rooms extremely comfortable and the staff friendly and attentive. The spa is very good, as are the staff who run it, and the food is of very high quality. The breakfasts were particularly good as was the staff who looked after them The gourmet restaurant food is first class, but there could have been an a la carte choice rather than two long tasting menus. Service in the bistro was occasionally slow. On nights when the gourmet restaurant is closed, one needs to know that one may need to book the bistro early. We were fortunately able to eat the same food in the bar
Everything! It should be a little bit cheaper
The location and hotel itself. The breakfast staff were exceptional. The reception staff were poor and ill-informed. My room had a wine stained rug and the glasses were not neither removed nor cleaned every day.
Beautiful design , excellent food and good service in a very pleasant and quiet setting . Ideal for a few days of relaxing ;
I liked the expansive grounds and the view of the vineyards from our bedroom window. I thought the maintenance on the building wasn't great, the bathroom was small, telephone didn't work, the shower controls were difficult and stuck on boiling hot, and the bath was tiny - just as well I am not obese
Beautiful big rooms and amazing scenery. The restaurant tasting menu was unbelievable! The decor and ambiance in restaurant was lacking. Though the food made up for everything!! A little too pricey too for the hotel being kind of empty.
Rooms had good WiFi and were clean Was a little difficult to find as it is in a retail park. Not a place with much charm but practicle and plenty of parking.
We were just on our trip to England so just a stopover We were in room 310 and the air conditioning was
Parking not a problem Easy to find - on route from San Sebastian Beds were very uncomfortable. Only 1 pillow. Room very small - for a 4* Hotel
Good practical hotel for an overnight stay. Clean, tidy rooms, good facilities in the area and overall good value for money. No fridge in the room and only one chair in a double room ?
it was clean and the staff was great and very helpful it's location was terrible and they never advertised that they were not in Lorgroño. because of the location I would not reccomend this hotel.
The staff were helpful. I booked two rroms for two nights for my family and another. Both room rates were the same. However, the room which my family stayed in is much smaller than the other room. The other room has a sofa and a huge bathroom.
As usual very high standards. This is our 3 year of staying on our way back to England and then back to Spain.
Very good value T V did not work.
Helpful reception staff. Good-sized room. We arrived on a Sunday and were told that the restaurant does not open on Sundays. The hotel is in an out-of-town commercial centre and the only place to get a cooked meal was the burger bar in the bowling alley!
If there had not been a coach party in on the Sunday night there would not have been any food available!!! Very poor for a 4 **** hotel.
The hotel owners / staff (in many cases they are the same) were very helpful in setting up tours for me. Even with some language barrier for the staff I was made to feel very welcome and they accomodated me in all my needs. The food was very good with a very good selection of wines.
This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! Loved it! Our double room had a beautiful four poster bed, and although not the biggest room I have ever stayed in, it was full of boutique hotel charm and very comfortable. Andrea, the hotel's very friendly receptionist, couldn't do enough for us, helping us book wine tours and local restaurants. We did not eat in the hotel so can't comment on quality of dinner. Overall we had a really memorable stay at the Hospederia De Los Parajes and would not hesitate to recommend it!
Staff were very helpful. Rooms were a good size and furnished very nicely.
Ambience of the hotel was excellent. Each room had a unique name. Security light in the room that disturbs sleep. Temperature in room was too hot.
Excellent hotel, very nice staff..would stay there again!!!!
This hotel opened in February 2010. It is in a vineyard. The decor is modern and tastefully done and the staff was pleasant. The rooms overlooked the vineyard. We were there when they were bringing in the grapes in truck loads. We were offered a free tour of the 'bodega' which ended with a tasting of two of their red wines. The room was small but not a problem. The bathroom was great- the view of the vineyard spectacular. The bathroom was modern and up-scale. The shower was fabulous. It had 4-jet streams at mid-height and an overhead shower. The location is good - a 5 minute drive to Laguardia and to many wineries. Hotel has free parking on-site. Dinner at the hotel was of good value - bottle of their own wine is included. the refrigerator in the room did not work
The design of the hotel building was special. The room and breakfast were very good. The staff were helpful. On the night we stayed they were not serving dinner. Apart from the quality room and the view the facilities were limited.
This is a fantastic hotel and a great value. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.
Gorgeous setting and location Very nice rooms (best hotel hairdryer!) One of the reception staff members seemed a little reluctant to help but other than this I couldnt fault our stay here.
comfortable elegant hotel, sadly lacking a bar or restaurant
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was in its own grounds and had plenty space to walk our dogs. Very easy to find. We arrived on a sunday after a 7 hour drive only to find out that there was no food or drink on site at weekends........something booking .com forgot to mention in their write up. There was only one member of staff that we saw. Breakfast was basic and the waitress never smiled or spoke to us. We cancelled our booking for our return journey.
Nice comfortable room. Good value for money as a breakfast was inlcuded. No food or drinks available in evening - unfortunately Sunday is not a good night for this in this hotel or many others in Spain. Had to walk into Navarette to obtain a meal in the evening. Reception staff not the most helpful - very matter of fact.
Very accessible, quite secure, very clean, helpful staff. Although breakfast was very good, it is a pity that the restaurant was not open at weekend, and that we do not appear to have had prior notice of this. We also understand that when open the menu is very limited, which is not good.
The friendliness of the staff & their willingness to answer all questions. Whilst not in the village it was just a short & pleasant stroll to the village. The shower was marvellous & there was a bath. The bathroom & bedroom were both spacious & well equipped. Fridge & free safe, fluffy large towels & hairdryer. Breakfast was very tasty with an option of cooked too & plentyful supplies of all types of breakfast. Very quiet too & free internet access & no need to worry about parking car. Would certainly return as great for Rioja bodega visits & less than 2 hours from ferry on good roads, but watch for updates on extending road network if tom tom/sat nav not current.
The location outside the city of Logrono.
This hotel was a convenient stop-over between Barcelona and Santander. We arrived in the evening one day and left after breakfast the next. The bedroom was fine and so was the breakfast. The evening meal was moderate.
The green gardens. The menu of the hotel Lack in choices.
Wonderfull gardens very well maintainrd.Free Wi Fi. Modern plumbing.Typical Spanish Hotel.
Friendly staff and the big parking area Nothing
Hotel is well located on Camino walk trail.Only street parking. When we steyed it was festival time August so expect lots of loud music and very little sleep.Hotel under staffed and very busy with locals.Great location if you have a car for touring around Rioja wine region Need more staff
Nothing. I was in Spain for 3 weeks and this was, by far, the worst hotel experience I had. We checked in around 7pm. I had emailed the hotel about 1.5 weeks earlier asking for recommendations for bodegas for wine tours and tasting. I got no response. Then, when we checked into the hotel, the front desk lady refused to call any of the bodegas to make reservations, despite my requests to do so. She said she would do it in the morning the next day. Well, the next day, no one came to work at the hotel. Literally. All day long, all the lights were turned off, there was no one at the front desk, ever. I just wandered around the hotel and it was a ghost town. Not a single person there to answer any questions or provide any help. A sorry, sorry excuse for a hotel operation. Incredibly disappointing and unprofessional.
Quit and clean. Hotel restaurant open until 22 and cheaper. It is diffucult to arrive at the hotel by car. Public parking at 200m.
Visited wine museum and two bodegas Signage to get to hotel is misleading as it is above road with no clear access
Perfect location in a fantastic setting. A fascinating building both inside and out you can take in the surrounding views from the top of the tower. Hotel is spotlessly clean and the hotels owner really nice.
The hotel was situated in the heart of a charming medieval village. The decoration of the rooms was really beautiful. The staff were so friendly and helpful in organising our vineyard visits and onward journeys.
We liked the atmosphere and the charm of this centuries-old mansion. They have also pretty good restaurant.
enjoyed the position and uniqueness of hotel. Rooms comfortable and well equipped. Reception staff very welcoming and helpful The restaurant which was one of the reasons for staying in the hotel was closed for the night!!!
Hotel has great character and flavor of the area. Staff was very helpful when booking.com screwed up during reservation process. Don't be fooled that the bodega here is anything really worth seeing. It's very tiny and owner refused to even show it to us when we arrived (even though hotel guide said there would be tour at the time we were there). Breakfast is expensive and there's nothing to it.
We enjoyed the Posada Mayor De Migueloa so much the first night, that we stayed for a second. Overall friendly staff. But the Matriarch of the family and her son were extremely helpful throughout our entire stay. Wine Tour
Excellent location, clean and functional rooms, good value for money and excellent, though not cheap, restaurant No attached parking
Well situated in the La Rioja region. Very good value for the money. They do not really have an easy access to wifi.
great location. nice people.
Comfort-location and cleanliness of the rooms
This is definitely the best hotel I ever stayed in. I arrived just after the local holidays had ended and I was the only client in the whole hotel. The hostess (unfortunately I forgot to ask what is her name) was very charming, kind and helpful. Moreover, coffee for breakfast was real espresso, which is something I used to consider impossible in hotels.
The staff were extremely pleasant and the hotel was basic but comfortable.Elciego is a very ancient stone village with the production of wine its sole purpose. If you love Riocha wine and want to do a lot of wine tasting then this is the place to come. A little expensive but it seems all accommodation in the Riocha region is expensive
Very friendly and helpful staff, perfect location, at the central square. Only one thing: suprisingly, it was hard to find a place to eat ( we arrived almost at 9 pm), may be it was due to the local festitivites. Otherwise, perfect.
Very nice hotel, everithing was good (rooms, cleanliness, location, breakfast, etc.)
Hotel staff are very nice and helpful, ake you feel home away from home.
The views from the bedrooms was excellent, the food is very good and the hotel was very near the city gates. There was no bar open, or a sitting area.there was also a lot of steps up to the reception area dining room and bedrooms, but no lift.
Proximity to old town, good Spanish food, big selection of wines, exellent views of surrounding vineyards from room balcony No option for a continental breakfast
Very well situated with easy access to the town. We had a room with terrace and fabulous views. One star rating on site is way below reality
simply breathtaking view, friendly staff , beautiful walled town, sunshine!
Excellent hotel in a prime location, clean rooms, good service, excellent restaurant and friendly staff.
The water for a shower in the morning was tepid!
Great location. Balcony overlooking the old town walls a plus. Even numbered rooms have a better view, looking out over the vineyards. Small room. Needed paint, and updating. Hotel could put more effort into decor. The Balocony had sad little planters with fake plants in them.
Since the town is so small, it's obviously close to everything, but it also has an amazing view of the vineyards surrounding Laguardia. The hotel itself is very clean, and the rooms are fairly spacious and very cute. The free breakfast is great, and you have a fantastic view from the breakfast room.
The hotel was charming, with a big, BIG balcony that overlooked a wonderful vista of vineyards, other towns, and mountains. It was located within steps of the entrance to the enchanting walled city of LaGuardia. The room was not big, but big enough, with a decent sized bathroom. Having no lift was a bit of a pain, so we opted to take up our smaller luggage with only what we needed for a day or two. There was no front desk clerk for much of the time, but we managed without.
The magnificant view. No elevator - though this is going to be installed.
Room number 12 (which I had) has an enormous (I mean enormous) PRIVATE balcony with a great view of Marques de Riscal. I ended up inviting friends over for a lunch on my terrace enjoying the sun at the Hotel. For this price, nothing beats it! The owner doesn't speak much English, but sign language is fun and underrated :)
