9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quaint, well done remodeled centuries old building, in a small quaint old town on the Camino. Restaurant was exceptional- make sure you request a reservation.
Cons: The only reason I do not give perfect scores is the poor wi-fi. Seemed like the bandwidth (correct term) was too limited- couldn’t handle data at any decent speed. I imagine there is nothing better available in town.

Pros: valuable cultural experience of local old house. clean, beautiful, spacious and good vibe through the house. expect to visit again someday.
Cons: floor carpet seems to be made of hay but that is traditional way of decoration I guess.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very accommodating, personable, and sought to help our individual needs - and we watched them take care of other guests in a similar way. Very high energy feeling about the place... YES it is an amazing location inside the city walls, and on the main square... but the owner and staff make all the best of that!
Cons: I really didn't have anything I didn't like!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good size, well appointed room overlooking the square. Lovely welcome on arrival, we were offered lots of local information and help with booking lunch at nearby Marqués de Riscal and a welcome glass of wine in the hotel cellar bar.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: breakfast excellent, beautiful hotel, dinner excellent
Cons: no parking at property, unload closely but parking was a fair walk the first day. room may have been a bit damp or dusty- my allergies acted up.(old building)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel! Amazing rooms! Right in the centre of a beautiful old village. Very friendly staff. Free drink in the hotel’s caves was a nice touch. Great location - Easy to visit nearby vineyards by walking.
Cons: There didn’t seem to be many food options in the village. Times on Google didn’t always reflect the reality. We did the spa circuit in the hotel - this was possibly overpriced for what it was. It would have been a nice touch to include this as a free activity.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful, centrally located, historic building with a cool cave bar. And inexpensive.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very congenial.
Cons: Interior room w/no windows. Rather expensive for what we got. Wifi was very weak and would not show on several of our devices.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms, comfy bed, great shower, clean, friendly helpful staff & great breakfast & dinner. Just a fabulous place to stay & relax. The town is a beautiful medieval maze of cobbled streets. No cars so really peaceful but you can park very close.
Cons: Steam room needed to be hotter but nice hot tub which was an extra.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely, bed very comfortable. Would have liked a room with a bathtub though. Shower, robe and products were all great.
Cons: Breakfast pastries were mostly store bought with one homemade cake. The others were uninteresting and too sweet. We had a room which opened internally so there was no way to have fresh air in our room
Hotel Eguren Ugarte - Laguardia - Bedroom

With a stay at Hotel Eguren Ugarte in Laguardia, you'll be steps from Hereded de Ugarte and a 2-minute drive from Casa Primicia. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location next to vineyard, wonderful view, size of the room, free soft drinks in the fridge, nice bathroom
Cons: too long tasting dinner (too long breaks between dishes - we were waiting around 20 minutes for a dessert)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was very beautiful and the free tour through the winery was interesting. Our room was spacious and the view was breathtaking. And the breakfast was delicious and the view outside of the window was lovely.
Cons: Although the view and the location was perfect the room wasn't worth the money. For that money you can stay in much nicer places (but probably without the view). Amd the food at the dinner in the restaurant wasn't good, nothing was freshly prepared and it was too expensive.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant staff, especially reception. Great food and a beautiful property.
Cons: Twin beds pushed together would benefit from a topper pad.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and amenities were great. The location and views are breathtaking.
Cons: Small restaurant needs advanced reservations
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was the most gorgeous property! We were blown away. Our room was phenomenal with the most gorgeous view of the vineyards right out our window. The free breakfast was incredible. They included a tour of the winery with our stay. Exceeded our expectations by far. Maybe our favorite trip ever.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: One regret: only booked a night, should have booked another. The food and wine are excellent. A great getaway.......enjoy!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great attention to detail. Beautifully manicured and maintained. Creative and thoughtful layout. Excellent cellar tour . Very beautiful site
Cons: Nothing, except perhaps the ubiquity of canned music . Location is amongst vineyards some distance from towns
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I almost didn't book this hotel because it is listed with only 1 star. Luckily we did and in our opinion it should get 4 stars. Beautiful surroundings, interesting rooms with elevator overlooking the wine cellars. large terrace overlooking the vineyards. Super clean and nice rooms, comfortable beds, great shower. The breakfast was lovely with all you need as well as late service, until 11:00. The complementary wine tour with wine tasting was very interesting and enjoyable. We chose a perfect time to visit, which was in the middle of the harvest which also heightened our nice experience.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Service, rooms, food and the overall experience was great
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This place is heaven on earth, it’s stunning, the food is delicious, the wine is good, wine cellar and the tunnels with the niches are spectacular. Will definitely be coming back.
Cons: The only thing missing in this hotel is sauna and jacuzzi facilities. Other than that, it’s 5* in my opinion

Pros: Wonderful architecture and peaceful neighborhood. The staffs are very friendly and professional.
Cons: Our bath room was not properly clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, excellent views, very comfortable room. Of the 3 hotels with spas that we stayed at on this trip it was probably the best. The famous restaurant was closed as it was a Monday night when we were there, but the alternative venue was very good. And the wine was obviously superb!
Cons: We could only afford to stay one night!
9.2 Excellent

Cons: None

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely restful stay right off the Camino. Comfortable and great value. Delicious breakfast and friendly staff :) would love to start again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of several Hostel type places I stayed in whilst riding and walking the Camino de Santiago. I loved this place. An old farm house restored and uniquely decorated by the hostess. A garden to relax in and perhaps more importantly, a barn to safely park my bike in. A comfortable lounge and dining room with games, books etc. if that was what you wanted. Again, I went for a room to myself as of an age where I wouldn’t feel comfortable in dorm style beds, and what a room it was, three beds and a great en-suite. Very clean and lovely fresh bed linen and towels. Plenty of free toiletries, much appreciated when travelling light. My room directly overlooked the Camino and as I hadn’t started the walking part of my trip yet I did feel slightly humbled and a little guilty as pilgrims began walking past at 6.30ish as I languished in bed waiting for dawn to break! Not enough to make me get up though! Hostess was wonderful, friendly and informative yet professional and not overly familiar. Good breakfast with fresh coffee and fresh fruit, including delicious figs! Would recommend without hesitation.
Cons: Nothing to dislike!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location! friendly accommodative staff! Pleasant staying for the value. We stayed for two nights and ventured around the area, taking tours in different wineries. Amazing view from our balcony on a local church. Cross the road, go uphill for 5 min and you have a beautiful view of Marques De Riscal hotel by Frank Ghery. Valdelana's staff accommodated us by allowing to visit Valdelana's wine cellar ( a tour) after our check-out time, at 4:00pm, with English guide (tour at 11:00 is in Spanish). Like the tour and wine testing... Spanish Tortilla and coffee in the morning was great! Unfortunately, we didn't have time to explore Elciego town besides some 30min walk in the morning, but 10 min drive away LaGuardia was amazing, no crowd, good food and Fabulista wine cellar! Highly recommend Agroturismo Valdelana!
Cons: it was somewhat noisy, since it was busy time of the year - grapes harvest. However, all passing traffic was during the day, so evening/night time was relatively quite. We were always so tied from wine drinking, walking and overall excitement, so noise didn't bother us at all. But for more sensitive people, could be an issue, so decided to comment on it.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Friendly staff speaking English The common place with kitchen facilities and books
Cons: The worst hotel of all our trip to Basque Country. The standard room is 14 sq m - too small and cluttered with not ergonomic furniture. There is no space for the luggage of 2 people. The small window giving on the road, one curtain was broken. No soundproof at all - in the night you hear toilet flashes in the next room, in the morning - lorries passing through the round-about just in front. There was an AC in the room, but for such a small space it’s a big risk to get cold. Bathroom was also small and basic, no hooks for towels, no toiletries. When we switched on the light for the first time we heard a strange sound. I supposed that it was insects burning by the bulb (there is no net on the window). But most likely it was wiring problem - in the morning the bulb exploded. We booked the hotel for 2 nights, but we left after the 1st. When you pay 67 euro/night for the hotel located in remote place you expect more. In reality it’s level of the hostel, and not the good one. I don’t know who rated this place “fabulous”. As for the city around - Elciego - it’s just a settlement where people working on wineries live. No points of interest, a couple of bars and 2-3 restaurants, nothing to do in the evening. The restaurant in the hotel is open for breakfast only. The breakfast consists of bread, orange juice, coffee, a piece of potato-onion omelette, that’s all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was fantastic. We came late and open the hotel by ourselves using code. Location is perfect - opposite the church, 5 minutes walk to the city center, 10 minutes walk to Marqués de Riscal winery. There are three restaurants in the nearby buildings, but they were closed Hotel is very stylish with winery theme al around, rooms are clear and comfortable. There is a lot of space to park the car for free near the hotel. Excursion to the old wine cellar is included in the stay and I look Jed it even more than the tour on Marqués de Riscal winery. Our guide June was very enthusiastic and nice Also we enjoyed Valdelana wines and after degustation bought a box of Grianza for nice continuation of our journey
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our fourth visit here and will be staying next year hopefully
8.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the recommended places to make your base in la Rioja if you are on a wine tasting journey. A quality winery in itself is close to many more, so you can just walk or drive really short distances. The staff is truly friendly and helpful. The breakfast is tasty, simple and filling - just what you need before a day in the area. They also have a common area for the guests with wine glasses, plates, etc. - very convenient.
Cons: Our room overlooked the crossroads, brightly lit all night long - a lightproof curtain would be helpful.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect staff, nice wines
Cons: No internet, some problems....
5.0 Okay
Pros: The tour of the facility was interesting, informative and worth participating. Breakfast is very minimalistic, but so is the price. Elciego is well located in Rioja.
Cons: I expected an "agroturistic" location more like a winery. Building is located in an asphalted round about plaza with vehicular traffic and traffic noise that bothered us. As such the location totally disappointed us. It happened that there were noisy travelers too and there is no effective acoustical insulation. The room was spacious, however under furnished (e.g no table/desk) We understood that for marketing purposes they flood the building with strong lights which are on late and shine into the room. Ear plugs and eye blinders help.
Carpe Diem - Elciego - Bedroom
9
9.0 Excellent (76 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Navaridas, Carpe Diem is within a 10-minute drive of Bodegas Palacio and Bodega Torre de Ona. Featured amenities include luggage storage and a library.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very rustic if you are looking for luxury this is not for you. But with that being said it is very cozy and comfortable. Great location and very friendly Spanish only speaking staff.
Cons: Our barhroom had a odor, I eventually got used to.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome on time and very hospitable. Beautiful small quiet village in heart of wine region. Only 6 kms to tourist village to eat wander through cute lanes and sample the local Tapas. Each room furnished differently and full of character. Central breakfast area with small terrace overlooking piazza. Complimentary local red and white wine. Breakfast all local produce and excellent quality quantity’s. Local sausage so flavoursome. Stayed three nights with so much to see in local valleys. Highly recommended accommodation location and family hosts.
Cons: All good
7.5 Good
Pros: Nicely renovated house and Elvira was very friendly. We got a nice bottle of their own bodega which was lovely.
Cons: Small beds for tall Dutch people :)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful historic family home in the little town of Navaridas. Good location near La Guardia, surrounded by vineyards, mountains, and historic (as well as prehistoric!) sights. Breakfast was perfect - local sausages, their own tomatoes and grapes, homemade bread, etc. Loved having the terrace to relax and enjoy a glass of wine in the sun in the evenings. Great parking - plenty in the plaza that the house is on. Host is so nice, very helpful with information of the area.
Cons: Difficult at times to communicate with our host - wish we knew spanish better!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice couple We had a tour in the wine production and a wine tasting Excellent overall concept
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hosts are great. Warm and friendly atmosphere
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Our room was fabulous, very spacious and in typical, rustic style for the location. Breakfast was wonderful. Fresh, delicious tomatoes that were out of this world, a choice of cheese and meats, coffee and fresh orange juice, all local produce or homegrown, and plenty of it. Wonderful people, so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Would recommend the wine tour and exploring the local surroundings on foot or bike. There is apparently one restaurant / bar in Navaridas but despite our initial reservations, this was in no way a negative. The social club is friendly, lively and again, the owners could not do enough for us. They cooked beautiful, local food specially for us and recommended dishes for us to try. This seems to be the hub of the local community and although it is basically a social club with some disused swimming pools, it turned out to be the highlight of our visit.
Cons: If you are looking for restaurants and bars you might prefer to stay in nearby Laguardia, or, if you like walking, do what we did and stay in Navaridas and walk or cycle the 4km to Laguardia. It helps to be able to speak some Spanish if visiting Navaridas as most people don't speak much English.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was wonderful, Navaridas is peaceful and the rooms are located in an old unique building. Elvira and her husband were great, breakfast was lovely with all km zero products and excellent grapes.
Hotel Palacio de Pujadas - Viana - Outdoors view
10
8.8 Excellent (530 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Palacio de Pujadas in Viana, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Calle del Laurel and Casa de Las Ciencias. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and an elevator.
7.1 Good
Pros: Viana is a lovely small town. Can be a better place to stopover on the Camino than logrono.
Cons: Room smallish and dark. Hotel is actually okay but is overpriced for what’s being offered.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Great location, and lovely stone entrance lobby. Pilgrim's dinner was not bad.
Cons: Was quite disappointed with service - it was not that I would expect of a 3 star hotel. Many of the 10-15euro albergues I was otherwise staying at on the Camino provided much better service. In particular, even though there hardly seemed to be anyone at the hotel, in the low season, I was given a small, dark single room - when I had booked and paid for a double (and was looking to spreading out!). When I mentioned this they were quite rude and seemed to suggest it was my fault for not complaining straight away, and did not provide any recompense - and have not in the 3 days since, though they said they would look into it. There was rarely anyone at reception.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were walking the Camino and this hotel was perfect location. The room was lovely and clean. I couldn’t find hairdryer in room but when I rang down they sent one up immediately
Cons: My only gripe is pillows and I should have asked for a second pillow
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely location, very central. Clean comfortable room. Great breakfast good value for money
Cons: No kettle in the room, the bath plug was broken so water leaked out of bath.
San Camilo - Navarrete - Outdoors view
11
8.7 Excellent (1,106 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at San Camilo in Navarrete, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Calle del Laurel and Bodegas Corral. Featured amenities include a business center, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The public rooms were lovely. The grounds were spacious and good outdoor seating area. The room was a great size with plenty of storage area. My partner especially appreciated the bath. Everywhere was clean and comfortable Conveniently located near the motorway but follow the hotels directions not your sat nav. Within easy reach of Bilbao and Santander
Cons: We had difficulty finding the hotel as the obvious sign outside had a different name. We just happened to spot the sign over the gate when we were searching. The cafeteria only opens a few nights a week although there are plenty of places in the town centre.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Style of the hotel was sweet
Cons: Long way to walk to center
9.6 Excellent
Pros: What a lovely property. Set in mature gardens, it was easy to find and close to a lovely town. The rooms are large, spotless and very comfortable. All staff were very friendly and eager to ensure we had a great stay. There was no facility for evening meal but the town of Navarette is only a few minutes drive and it has many bars and cafes serving lovely food. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. A very peaceful and relaxing hotel, would highly recommend.
Cons: Very happy with our stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very comfortable. The shower in the bathroom was amazing!
Cons: The hotel was a bit of a walk from the main part of Navarrete, which, as a Camino walker, was my own fault for not checking the map. I chose not to take dinner because a television was on (fairly loud) in the dining room. I would have preferred nice music.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in wonderful grounds. All the staff were very accommodating.
Cons: Not the hotel's problem but as it was pouring with rain couldn't walk into the town which was about 15mins walk.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was good. Clean and staff friendly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful surroundings. Close to village. Stunning sunrise views from our room.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are amazing! We spoke our broken Spanish, she did much better with her English and they prepared a beautiful and clean room for our 2 night stay. Location and fast WiFi with free parking a great bonus.
Cons: There was no kettle in the room. Very small space for improvement.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful and friendly
Cons: There was no AC; there was a fan in the room but it was noisey at night
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Family guesthouse in the city center. Very hospitable & knowledgeable & friendly young hosts who made our day by renting us modern & well equipped bikes to explore surrounding countryside with vineyards. Modern room with strong Internet WIFI connection.
Cons: During hot summer evenings you may face a dilemma how to vent the room, if it's facing towards the street, and at the same moment avoid downtown noise as there's no air conditioning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and tidy ,nice owners, handy bar just outside entrance, parking close by in street
Cons: Would have liked on suite bathroom
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: Strict checkin / checkout times, as they close at 9 pm and open again the reception at 9:30 am. Quite unfriendly staff because we arrived at 9:30 pm and needed to leave before 9:30 am. Even if the payment was already done, the process is very burocratic.
Castillo El Collado - Laguardia - Building
13
8.5 Excellent (705 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at Castillo El Collado places you in the heart of Laguardia, steps from Church of Santa María de los Reyes and 6 minutes by foot from Casa Primicia. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and multilingual staff.
6.7 Good
Pros: Loved the view from the top tower and the location in the beautiful town of La Guardia. Food in the restaurant was also stunning. It’s easy to park in the local car park when staying here, it’s free.
Cons: I’ve given a poor rating for this hotel because when booking somewhere to stay, the ultimate priorities are getting a good night’s sleep and being able to take a shower. The first big problem was that the shower in our room was absolutely terrible, it was a mixer tap that you then hung on a small ring on the wall. Unfortunately this would not point in the right direction, either soaking the wall or the floor while only partially showering my head! On one occasion, it fell off and hit my partner on the head, where he ended up with a bump. The bed was also very strange, it was a queen sized bed and a single bed pushed together, I’m used to this arrangement in Europe but this time both beds had been made up separately so essentially we were in two separate beds.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This boutique 10 room hotel on the quiet edge of tiny Laguardia was built in the 1800's as a private "castle". The rooms and baths are spacious, well appointed and aesthetically pleasing. The breakfast, though a tad expensive, is ample and delicious. The view from the tower is not to be missed. All the rooms are nice and each has a name, but I believe that ours, El Fabulista, was likely best. Be aware that as befits a small B&B you will be given your own entry key staff are off site at night. As a base for visiting nearby wineries (where visits MUST be arranged in advance, unlike at US wineries) Laguardia can't be beat. It may be crowded with tourists (mostly Spanish) all day and parking hard to find but by staying here you will experience it all empty and serene in the early morning and evening. Be aware that cars are not permitted in Laguardia and the hotel lacks an elevator so you will need to lug your bags 100 feet or so to the hotel and then up the stairs.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great old building in a good location. A treat to stay here. It is older but you are staying in a castle so that is part of the charm. Loved La Guardia great place to visit.
6.7 Good
Pros: The hotel was beautiful and conveniently placed
Cons: Would have thought for the price there would have been more facilities like a kettle in the room, would have much preferred that than a mini sauna. Had a very pricey meal in the restaurant but was very disappointed as the meal arrived cold.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We very much enjoyed our two night stay in this historic building. The room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated, however, the thoughtful attention by the manager made our stay quite special. She really went above and beyond to help us with reservations, suggestions and more.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Service was poor. Breakfast very limited. Beds uncomfortable and rooms were in need of much repair.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Laguardia is not car friendly, it is a beautiful town with narrow pedestrian-only streets, so no cars inside. Parking is a lottery, though the hotel has a good car park just below it. It is located on a hill, so be prepared to carry bags upstairs. The hotel itself is fabulous, old but clean with delightfully ramshackle spaces and our room was just the same...with a huge bath and shower hose which did not fit the wall fixing. We did not care as the building is unique and fun. Climb the tower for the views of the mountains and valley, do not miss that.
Cons: The restaurant is underneath and not quite the standard of the hotel, either in decor or food, though there are many good tapas bars and restaurants in the town nearby.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, close and quiet, and we had a beautiful view from the hill to the wine yards. Room was very clean and furnitured with a good taste. An infra-red sauna in the room and a terrace in the tower with a spledid 360 degree view were extras made our visit memorable.
Cons: The breakfast was missing a bit love and home or locally based baking.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: LaGuardia is a beautiful old town
Cons: Locals not very friendly
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We were in Laguardia for a wedding so there was a big group of us staying at the hotel. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and as advertised. The breakfast was delicious and there was a large variety to chose from. There is also a cafe and outdoor sitting area to enjoy some time in the sun. The surrounding area is beautiful with vineyards as far as you can imagine and the little surrounding towns were very quaint and served amazing local cuisine.
Cons: There is free parking onsite however the space is filled very quickly so you will need to park in the underground carpark which comes with a fee. For those who have mobility issues, the entrance to reception is at the bottom of a relatively steep incline from the car parking area (not a problem, just something to consider).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Laguardia is perfect to stay in for wine tasting in Rioja and this hotel is really well located and very comfortable.
Cons: Gym didn’t open until 10 which was a bit annoying
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is very nice and its location is privileged because it is walking distance from the medieval town of Laguardia and near multiple vineyards and wineries of the best brands. Our room was very comfortable with wooden floors. We had a splendid view from our window. The bathroom was very comfortable too. Great breakfast, and a very thoughtful staff. Good Wi-Fi. We did not have time to use the Spa. It has a corner of wines, where you can buy several local ones.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location and breakfast
Cons: A bit outdated.

5.0 Okay
Pros: It had a bed
Cons: I am walking the Camino and knew Viana to be a small town. This hotel was almost to the next village , why would advertise they were in Viana. We took a taxi costing 20 e to get to it, we ordered room service and after an hour and a half we called to ask where it was. They never put the order in. So we waited another 30 minutes to receive cold raw French fries that we didn’t eat and a pizza. We left early the next morning and they packed us a nice box lunch. We ordered a taxi to take us back to the Camino exactly where we left off the day before. The price was now 30e. We felt we were taken advantage of and felt deceived by the hotel. As a suggestion they may consider a comment on their website under reservations advising that they are NOT on the walking Camino route. It would be very helpful to walking pilgrims that do not know the area.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff. A comfortable room. A large parking in front of the building, which is a parking of a closed supermarket. Nice restaurant next door.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very clean room and helpful staff. Fresh orange juice for breakfast. parking and easy access to downtown Logroño.
Cons: However, for a 4 star hotel and the price for the basic room (€109/night), it lacked the details of a 4 star: toiletries, extra pillows, blanket and very small gym next to the reception. Breakfast acceptable. Overall, we just had the feeling we’re not a 4* place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was excellent, the restaurant was excellent , and the staff were extremely helpful . would recommend this hotel to anyone.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and staff and restaurant were all you could ask for and more.
Cons: We knew it was outside Lagrono but we didn't expect an out of town car park with a ghost town shopping center!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Decided to try the hotel's restaurant for an evening meal as there was no other available in the immediate vicinity apart from a Chinese buffet. What a surprise. It was an excellent hot buffet with an extensive choice of good wholesome food. Don't be put off by the regular menu, go for the buffet! Breakfast was also excellent!
Cons: Location is at the back of a large car park serving a shopping centre with hardly any units let to retail outlets. A bit like a ghost town!

Pros: Everything it says on the tin
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Can’t be more historic, centric, genuine and beautiful....AMAZING
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was 400 years old ,amazing architecture and so much character
Cons: Pillow hard and air conditioner not working properly
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the 16th century building, each of the eight rooms are different. Floor in our room looked original and was so uneven that bathroom trips at night were harrowing. Food was pretty good, but our eggs at breakfast. The walled town is tiny, walk from one end to other in 10 minutes. Some buildings from 15thcentury.
Cons: Hard to figure out entry and parking. No cars permitted inside walls, parking spaces hard to come by and this is low season. We took the minimum and left bags in car. Modest hike to hotel (with favorable parking) and stairs to climb to room. Got charged for seconds on OJ and coffee, seems chintzy.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location. Old, traditional amazing tiled floors and flagstones. Oh and the beautiful front door!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a very well kept heritage building, with an amazing restaurant and guess what (it is not a surprise in this town) its own winery! It is just stunning.
Cons: The could fix the bathroom in the room, water leaks very easily from the shower.

Pros: Of the many hotels we’ve stayed this journey Rey Sancho shares first place with Hotel Akeretta. The staff is incredible! They did our laundry within 45 minutes of us checking in. They recommended a top ten ever restaurant and provided a delightful breakfast. The hotel, staff and location could not have been better!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent and made us very welcome. A really excellent Camino stopover.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here while doing the Camino. It was perfect location right on Camino. Staff on reception were very helpful, our bags were in our room when we arrived. I asked for extra pillows and no problem. Room was lovely and spacious and ver clean
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Having stayed here four years ago, once again I was not disappointed. Wonderful pilgrim friendly staff. Willingly took dirty washing for laundry and returned it to us clean, dry and neatly folded within two hours for a very reasonable price. Service with a smile.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location and the young woman who checked us in fabulous. As was the fellow that did breakfast in the morning.
Cons: Yikes. Bed wasn’t changed. Blood on the pillow case and sheet. I took it to the reception and she gave me a new pillow case. Perhaps just an oversight as room was spotlessly clean otherwise.

5.0 Okay
Pros: The view
Cons: It was freezing. There was no duvet, only a thin sheet. I called the host (who we never met) but they never responded to my calls and we had a terrible nights sleep. There’s no restaurant in the town & nothing to do for visitors. Fuentemayor is 4 kilometres away & would have been a much better place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is not a hotel, but a ‘casa rural’, in which you rent a room with private bathroom. The house is clean and light, the welcome by owner Hector is very warm and friendly. He even showed us around town to his family’s bodega (Bodegas Pavoni). The house has a nice garden and a few common areas (kitchen, living room, terrace), all clean. You could cook for yourself or go into town: there’s 1 bar with raciones and 1 bar-restaurante that serves raciones/tapas, salads and burgers and where seemingly the whole town walks in at night. Ikustieder Vista Hermosa is a lovely place to stay, in a lovely town!
Cons: Only staying there for 1 night :)
