Excellent quality/price ratio the location was retrieted but very beautiful small towm
Our stay was in October and the season had just closed which was reflected in the few residents and the limited (but well cooked ) choice for dinner. It would be great in the summer and it's well placed for touring. The town was too quiet, being out of season - not their fault. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and the staff very pleasant. What a shame it was too cold to use the pool! We preferred to eat in a local restaurant as the hotel one lacked atmosphere. This may have just been the out of season factor.
the staff was great, the pool was nice for the children, near the town center no
beautiful hotel and lovely garden, located close to local facilities and right next to the spa,
hotel is beautiful, pool and gardens lovely, rooms high standard, luxurious feel to hotel, breakfast buffet good choice & quality, all staff very friendly and helpful (except unmberto who's manner was slightly brisk at start of holiday, but warmed to us during our very enjoyable stay at this beautiful hotel.) The only small issue we had was the location of the bells - beside the hotel - they ring every half hour on the hour and various other times when mass is being called - it can be slightly loud at times - but did not negatively impact on our holidya here and we plan to return to this hotel next year for our annual trip to Casciana Terme.
The hotel itself was pleasant enough, although stuck in a time warp. The staff were not very friendly. It took an age just to get a coffee at breakfast. There was nothing to do in the immediate area and everything around the hotel (drinks, restaurants etc) was extremely expensive. Luckily we were near Pisa and San Gimignano so could go elsewhere. We chose the hotel because it was fairly near to Lajatico where we went to see Andrea Bocelli in concert. But I would definitely not recommend the hotel to anyone. I thought it was very expensive for what was provided.
We had a very pleasant stay. The room was very good, the service perfect and the swimming-pool just marvelous. The people holding this place are very, very caring and competent.
Very friendly staff. Nice large rooms, clean & tidy. Nice clean large pool in the cosy backyard. Very calm small town with a great piazza where all the people meet in the evening. Easy to get to everything in Toscana by car both the coast and the hills.
Classical style. relaxed. spacious room & bathroom. beautiful gardens & outdoor areas. Asked for a room with a view. but had a room on the street front. requested reception if we could change to room at the back overlooking the gardens. but the man at reception did not oblige, even though the hotel was not full.
A little expensive but great quality in return!
Location It needs reconstruction and meals were poor
Air conditioners were working good. Dirty and smelly room, no hot water, broken shower, broken fridge, plastic glasses for expensive coctails in restaurant …
Great location, right on the beach
It was close to the beach. No hot water. TV didn't work. The dresser drawer was broke and laying on the floor when we first walked in the room.
Convenience to several sites
wine, dinner, staff (not manager) Busses did not run on a schedule
Do not think this place deserves to be called a ***
Being able to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and the fresh home cooked meals.
The receptionist Paola was excellent, nothing was too much trouble and she was so friendly and helpful. The setting of the hotel was lovely. The English lady in the mornings could have been more friendly and helpful. Very poor breakfast.
This is the way to view Italy. The atmosherics, the owners and the staff made this one of the best nights we had spent in the region (even in a thunderstorm). If you get the chance make sure you try dinner and spend longer than an overnight stop! Nothing!
Location is convenient Some thoughts about the owners: Oh the owners... they are really tired by all the tourists and probably they are in the wrong business... They rent something like 5 to 7 rooms at their own home and at the same time they don't want to bothered! Thats about 10 people a day that they have to avoid...They expect you to arrive between 15.00 and 19.00 otherwise they keep your money and you stay out of their property (check some of the previous reviews)! I made the reservation based on the location and the good average rating of something like 8.5. At that time I was thinking that it was a real hotel ... At arrival we found nothing but a closed door and a ringer that nobody answered... So I checked my confirmation mail just to be sure that we were at the right place and that was when I came across a strange email... Dear Guest: I would like to remind you that the check in is available from 3.00 PM to 7.00 PM. After 7.00 PM , you will not be accepted . BR The Owner Wow!!! I did not know what was more appropriate to laugh at this impossible message or to cry. Anyway I realized that time was exactly 15.05 when a young man came (probably an employee) called the owner named Patricia who was the whole time INSIDE the building but just didn't mind opening the door or answering our calls!!! The young man asked Patricia which is our room and she gave him instructions. So that was pretty much the only interaction we had with the hotel staff. We quickly left our luggage and headed for the city. Next morning we made what would soon be proven to be a very bad decision... we decided to prolong our stay in Pisa and head to the nearby villages. As you probably guess we were alone at the hotel and nobody answered our calls so I payed for our second night through the booking site, received the confirmation and left a written message at our door explaining that we payed for a second night (time was 10am). At 16.33 I received an sms from Patricia the owner: I'm sorry but your Bill isn't pay. You luggage is in the living. Ciao ciao Tried multiple times to call her back but she never answered so I forwarded her the confirmation letter just to verify that everything was payed and informed her that we would be back by 10pm. We were back in town by 9pm. At the hotel we met Patricias spouse who told us that they re-arranged our things in another room in the first floor but quickly after we had to confront Patricia that acted like crazy!!! Saying impossible things like that she had not eaten dinner because of us an all the time she were referring to us in Italian language saying very inappropriate things and she wanted us out!!! So Patricias spouse re arranged again our things in yet another room in the second floor without any windows with the bathroom outside and so small that we could hardly stand. Guess this was something like a punishment for being late... Because of text size limitations I'll make it short Patricia refused tho give me back some personal items of me like mine travel kettle... We called Police to help us out but that didn't work either... Patricia refused to meet them All ended with Patricias spouse (who identified himself as a policeman) threading my spouse to be careful because "the dog didn't like her" and HITTING and PUSHING my spouse out of the front door!!! We spent a whole day in the local police station and hospital... to be continued.........
