GN accommodated our request for no feathers and a quiet room, which was much appreciated. The Red sushi bar and Italian restaurant were excellent.
Lighting in the rooms is terrible, very dim and difficult for makeup application. Rooms could use a refresh, especially the bathrooms.
The hotel is located right on the old strip.
We had a horrible experience with this hotel. We were in Vegas for our oldest son's football team for Nationals and this was a family vacation. We booked the hotel 3 weeks in advance. When we arrived to check in, we were notified that the pool was closed for 2 weeks. We specifically booked this hotel because of the heated pool, slide and fish tank. The front desk manager lied and said it could possibly open early or see if there was another pool in another hotel that we could use. I now know he was saying these things to pacify me and the get me to keep our reservations. I told him to put in the notes that if it doesn't open, I would like compensated. He agreed. We checked every day and received the same response that there are no plans of opening early and will not open for 2 weeks. When we went to check out the clerk advised that the notes specifically said there would be no compensation. They also tried to charge a $28.00/per day resort fee on top of our bill. This was the worst experience for our children and us. We will never be staying at the Golden Nugget again!!
