Great check-in staff. I was lucky to check in when there wasn't a massive line.
No hot water in room. It was exceptionally cold in Vegas during my trip (even for February) but I would have hoped the hotel's hot water supply would have been sufficient.
Thought the hotel would be nicer than it was
The rooms are clean, spacious, updated and have magnificent views. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The buffet was also of the highest quality, wonderful food and service!
I would have given the hotel and casino higher ratings if it hadn't screwed up my simple request. More than 24 hours prior to arriving, I modified my booking to include a friend who was staying with us. We were arriving late (1 a.m.) and wanted our friend to check in earlier. The hotel told me to modify through Bookings.com, which I promptly did. I received a confirmation email showing the change of the guests name to my friend's name. My friend, complete with ID, Booking # and Pin Code in hand went to the check-in desk earlier that evening. After waiting in line for about half an hour, he was told he could not check into the room! Even though it was prepaid and he had proof of the reservation modification they still would not let him check in! When I arrived, tired and jet-lagged at 1:30 a.m., I spoke with a desk manager named Woody, who explained that the fax had not been received and/or entered from Bookings.com. I showed Woody and the desk clerk my confirmation email received from Bookings.com. Woody did apologize but the whole thing was not resolved until 2 a.m. with a lot of wasted time and nothing but two two buffet comps to show for it. I don't understand how I can get a confirmation by email in 5 minutes but your hotel was unable to modify the reservation to add a name with over 24 hours notice! And the room was prepaid! Your communication systems with your vendors needs to be improved, to say the least! It seems quite inefficient to not allow the person who booked and paid for the room to modify the booking directly with the hotel ... one phone call, in and out! Figure it out executives, that's what you get paid for! I also found the parking garage to be quite inconvenient. Getting in and out was extremely difficult and time consuming, but I guess it's intentionally like that at a lot of hotel/casinos. I'm OUT!
Room was not clean, TV didn't work, maids didn't clean room next day (had to call at 5pm to get service), culminating in door key not working twice on same day and me ending up locked out for 30min
Everything, friendly courteous staff, clean comfortable luxury rooms, great inhouse shows, big selection of great restaurants, value for money inhouse,a great Casino,we enjoyed playing the machines, some wins & lots of fun,MGM Grand is the place to stay in Las Vegas,we loved it
My credit card was hacked which prevented the hotel from charging me daily for any room charges. Instead of calling my cell phone or sending me a note to visit the front desk, they chose to lock me out of my room. I found this out when my wife had an asthma attack from all of the casino smoke. When I went to the room for medication, the key simply wouldn't work. I visited the front desk in desperation, told them my dilemma, and their response was rude, heartless, and smug. Instead of expediting the process to allow me entrance to my room and my wife's medication, they chose to lecture me as to why my room key was disabled. They treated me like a poacher, when in fact my card was hacked in their facility! I've stayed with the MGM Grand and their other properties before, but never again. I travel to Las Vegas at least 3 times per year, spend a lot of money on customers and gaming, so their loss.
We haven't been to Vegas together before and we wanted to stay on the strip and close to clubs and bars. The MGM was very close to most things we enjoy, NY NY mostly. Also the Asian resturaunt in your place is fucking unreal. Service was a 10 food was a 10 and the price was dooable for a young couple.
It took a while for us to get used to the distance the the shopping on the strip. But, that's on us. The MGM just felt a little far away.
No bathtub, had to upgrade my room to get one. Still no bathrobes. No noise from next door rooms, but doors slammed in hallway all night long. Main light bulb was burned out when I got to room, so dark in side. Took maintenance several hours to show up and fix it
Staff was very nice and for the most part very helpful.
No hot water. Pool was closed and was sent to another property's pool which was so overcrowded you could not get a chair.
the bed and pillows
the bathroom was too public and the rooms view was terrible. the elevators were way too far from the room. Security officer we met in the hallway said it was a quarter mile hallway with elevators at each end
Location and grandeur of the hotel is amazing!!
The rooms were not up to the mark. They looked old and were small. Not all expected basic amenities were provided. It was a major let down, and definitely not worth the price
Room was clean, pools were amazing. Super close to all strip casinos
Our fire alarm was triggered and not one staff member was seen during the ordeal. And no explanation was given to is about it.
The comfortable room.
Booked our room through Kayak.com over three hours before getting to the MGM. When my fiance and I tried to check in, we had to wait 30 minutes because MGM couldn't find us on their system. The lady at the desk called her manager n advised her to tell us to call kayak. So we did and had to wait another 15-20 minutes. They told us that MGM had been sent the info and that they've "had it all along." The purpose of booking ahead of time is to expedite the checking-in process and this took about an hour.
service was great
room was really small
Location, Rooms were nice, really friendly staff, nice Casino
It takes you ages to go from A to B since its so huge but thats part of the experience
Noisy and overcrowded family hotel.
The smell of cigarette smoke was overpowering.
Crampy little room with King bed, room temperature could not be brought down and adjusted to a comfortable setting even at minimum, while in shower water splashes outside the glass door bottom gap with no transitions, limited lighting making the room gloomy, came here thinking rooms would be nice after hearing about renovations, overall a disappointment and just wasn't a comfortable stay in Vegas this time!!
The MGM had a fun atmosphere, and unfortunately we didn't have enough time there. We only stayed a night as we were passing through town on a road trip. This was my first time in Vegas, and if I went back, I would have no problem staying at the MGM again.
Maybe I missed them, but I wish there were water fountains. But then again, anything to make a dollar. I can't really complain about this because I should have expected it, but staying here and having a good time definitely costs money. My husband and I won't be coming back until we can budget 3-4 times more than we did this time - and we didn't budget cheaply.
Bizarre setup in the bathroom. No privacy, frosted glass between toilet and shower with air gap at the ceiling.
I didn't like anything about my stay at mgm. However I did meet some promoters that were so helpful and evern showed us the quickest way to get to each club and how to get into all of the pool parties.
I hated my stay at mgm. I was charged 400 dollars as a hold on my account as soon as I steped into the hotel. Everything I was a hassle. I booked two rooms and I asked for them to be conjoined months before I arrived. I called and they only had one room booked. I called kayak with my confirmation number they jumped to my help and called mgm with me on speaker I was able to get my rooms together and they sorted everything out. When MGM hung up the kayak Assitant asked me to call them back a week before to confirm everythjng was right. Well that was the best advice because of course the problem remained and I had to sort it out again! When I arrived the manager was so rude to me and told me that there is no way that two rooms can be beside one another. I had to prove it with an email. So then all of a sudden it was possible. Miracle I think not. They offered me 100 dollar voucher per room which was a headache and I couldn't use it in the restaurants that I had booked. It was an awful experience that resulted in so many phone calls and wasted my time and patience. I will never stay there again. Paris and Venetian it is next time.
Lots of restaurants available
The smoking in the hotel. Lack of info on what was available at the hotel and where. More maps. Having to pay for a tube at the pool after we paid 509$ to stay at the hotel with a pool. Staff working and serving at the pool Weren't available.
For the most part all staff was very friendly and helpful.
Security opened my door without my permission while I was in my room, very unprofessional. They did not even call to see if anyone was in the room when some drunk person said that we needed to be checked on or something? After many trips to Vegas it was a very strange experience.
There were not enough people working the front desk.
Staff were very friendly and helpfull nice job MGM
Cheap room, was clean. Nice views.
IT'S A MAZE. it was really hard with a child in a stroller. Pool area was closed so early and also a maze!
Everything especially the hip hop music being played throughout the casino.
The night club hakkasan rarely plays hip hop
We were initially given a room that looked like a jail cell. Tiny window and old. After 1 hour at the front desk we were grudgingly given a room with a bigger window overlooking the ac units that ran all day and night. Horrible attitudes and rooms. The hotel is huge so you have to walk a mile to get From your room to elevator. Changed $30 night resort fee but not given paper and wifi did not work. Worst Vegas hotel experience ever especially since you can get a less expensive room at a better hotel.
I was given a room on 3rd floor with trash bins in an enclosed area below being clanged around disturbing sleep late and early in morning. Pillows terrible. Controls on water in shower hard to keep at even temperature. Food outrages prices. I am a senior on a limited budget and spent a lot of money to be here for a special occasion. Leaving with a bitter taste for this big name hotel.
Loved the hotel and staff
The west wing king room was nothing more than a college dorm room. The bathroom had no privacy and the room looked to be put together with poor construction. The hotel was Great but for the price or any price the room was horrible. Would gamble but not stay at this hotel again.
My fiance and I stayed at the MGM for two nights in June with my family. Our stay was pretty horrible at best. It all started when we booked the room. We booked online through getaroom.com for three nights. We then decided to only stay two. With our reservations there was supposed to be no cancellation penalty and that soon changed. We were advised the rates had changed from the time we booked to the time we wanted to cancel the third night. They told us we had to cancel the whole reservation and rebook at a higher rate. After a huge headache and about 1.5 hours on the phone we were told they would accommodate us and just cancel the one night. (It took about a month to get our refund but this is a completely separate issue) We arrived at the MGM at about 3pm on a Monday afternoon. The checkout line wrapped around the entire lobby area and it took us about an hour just to check into our room. We had booked one king bed and ended up with two queens which we were told by the concession desk was comparable. Everyone else that we went with was offered some sort of an accommodation such as a $25 pool credit but we were declined that. We got up to the room and discovered the beds weren't even properly made, the bottom sheet was folded up instead of tucked in. The pillows were horrible and flat (you can request alternative pillows that could be delivered to your room in 45 minutes - 1 hour time). The water pressure was fine the first day and there was practically none the second day. The AC unit made some sort of loud rattling sound. That coupled with the bright green light that shone up and under the blackout shade and into our window made it very difficult to sleep. On top of everything else our TV didn't even work so we could neither watch TV while laying awake at night or check out of our room. Overall our stay was far from fantastic and I would probably never stay here again.
leaving but even that had a line
Way to expensive for what you get. A few beers and lunch for six people was $260 at the pub, dinner for 6 was 500 dollars and it wasn't amazing food. It was good, but more like 200$ good. Way too expensive. Way too many lines. Won't book here again
