4.3 Okay
Pros: Overated
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast in large communal room/kitchen downstairs. Atmosphere and friendliness of staff. The manager, Matthieu was very helpful to us because my wife needed to see a doctor. He arranged an appointment for her. His concern for our situation was just wonderful. Would reccomend without hesitation. Hotel is modern in an old building.
Cons: This is a quirky boutique hotel with each room different. We had the largest room which was on 2 levels with the bedroom upstairs. There is not much hanging space and if you are staying for a few days there is not a lot of places to put stuff. Like many hotels in France it is not air conditioned. Normally this would not be a problem in this part of the world however there was an abnormal heat wave during our stay and sleeping was uncomfortable. Some rooms are quite small.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very original location with a really professional and friendly staff. The place is new and clean. Great place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are very friendly while we tried to Communicate in our poor french. The Hotel is very convenient to the centre of Rennes and Is I n a very safe area. My son was completing an Erasmus year at the university of Rennes so I stayed at " the magic hall" on my three visits to Rennes . The rooms are very bright and spacious . It was great to come home some evenings and avail of dinner . Drinks are always available . I would definitely stay at the magic hall if I return to Rennes again and I would highly recommend this hotel to fellow travellers .
Cons: I truly have to say there was nothing about the magic hall I didn't like . In our room we had a bath with shower . For older travellers this would be difficult to negotiate . Thanks

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Bed very comfy and lovely room. Son really loved playing drums in music room... one of the reasons I booked it
Cons: No air conditioning in room and a very hot night meant a disturbed sleep, also bath and shower head set up was a bit dangerous for us oldies, had a couple of close calls there getting in/out
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place, big bright clean rooms near to city center. Only a few steps to immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of Rennes. Breakfast is highly recommended!
Cons: Perfect stay!

Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It's quirky. Relaxed and fun. Breakfast was good (pay separately for this).

Pros: Very friendly staff, who waited up for us as boat to St Malo was delayed and traffic from port was chaotic (France had just won the World Cup within that hour). Would liked to have stayed longer, but needed to get to Albi ASAP.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The expectations from initially viewing the property for a nights stay far exceeded what I imagined. You have to see the Interior to fully appreciate the charm, the rustic and cosy décor along with its opulence that one puts into making a home a pleasurable comfort. I only wish that my stay was not a hasty one nights retreat but a longer period to take in the lovely character this residence has. Also please take full opportunity to marvel at the exterior surround with its tranquil setting..Goats, Donkeys are grazing outside your apartment window..even Chickens are about happily rambling around the car park !!!!!...Delightful

Cons: "Designer bathroom facilities" were awful. Poor lighting. Dysfunctional sink, poor drainage; far too low and no place for toiletry kits except in shelf below the knees.. Shower stall had no security grab bars and wide door necessitated putting shower mat at least a meter away.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was very peaceful and Benjamin was a kind and attentive host.
Cons: Everything was good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Proprietor, Benjamin, is a lovely human being; he is kind & warmly welcoming. He exudes calm. Meeting him was a highlight. He was helpful in suggesting sights to explore & patient and helpful with our French. He is passionate about the Brocéliande forest. Regarding breakfast, which is served in his dining area on pretty china, his coffee was delicious as were his homemade jams, crepes and bread. Cheese, granola, fresh fruit and yogurt rounded out the offerings. A toaster was on the table for guest use. The room was tastefully decorated, spacious & very comfortable and clean. Plenty of hot water. Loved the towel warmer & large shower (it is in the room; toilet is in separate room). Liked the private entrance and space for parking. Enjoyed relaxing in the yard with delucious hard cider, complements of our host. All in all, this was a relaxing, very pleasant stay.
Cons: The room could benefit from a bedside lamp on both sides of the bed instead of on just one side. Otherwise the overall lighting in the room is excellent. We did not understand that a “hotie” is neither an inn or hotel but, rather, a kind of ”gite.” It wasn’t exactly what we expected, but we were not disappointed! A toilet paper holder in the lavatory would be a nice addition.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Non-intrusive but personalised attendance by Benjamin, the owner/manager. His enthusiasm and his pride in his establishment was quite heart-warming.
Cons: The description Hotie was unfamiliar to me (and also to UK friends who I asked later). I expected a traditional country hotel. But the Hotie de Brociliende's identity as a bijou rural guest-house fulfilled our holiday hopes absolutely. Far from being disappointed, we were delighted. I
6.8 Good
Pros: The large salon with kitchen access. Would have been even nicer if it was warmer.
Cons: The room layout and facilities. No table or desk for putting things on. No useful bedside tables. Clothes hanging only in the toilet. Cold in the breakfast room. Location not actually in Paimpont.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and cozy little place to relax. Conveniently located with easy access to great places to visit. Proprietor was very welcoming and I would certainly go back. Although we had a bit of a misunderstanding on whether or not breakfasts were included in the price, (just make sure it is... ) owner was accommodating.
Cons: Clarify whether or not ... if you go to a bed and breakfast... that it does include breakfast! Thought terminology was clear enough... but obviously in France they do things differently!!!!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s a residential hotel, very nice and picturesque. I loved the aspheric It’s quiet and peaceful. The garden is very pretty so is the backyard. The appartement in itself is very pretty, plenty of space. For the kitchen there were loads of cups, cutlery and plates for a family I liked that. Very comfy beds and the receptionist was very nice and friendly.
Cons: The location is major turn off!! Very far from everything (shops, town etc) you will have to do your shopping before getting there as it’s a 14min walk to the main road a long drive to shops. The rooms are very very very hot, no air conditioner in the apartment plus if windows left open insects come in due to the backyard. No receptionist after 7-8pm therefore no one to help in case of need.

Pros: The grounds are beautiful and they even have a little animal enclosure which our 1 year old loved. Room was spacious and it was great to have kitchen facilities
Cons: Very minor detail, but the coffee cups were tiny (espresso sized) so we ended up using bowls. Full size coffee cups or mugs would be great.

Cons: Not practical access to the hotel with suit cases from the underground parking. Have to take stair while carrying suitcase. Rain water entered the bedroom window side on a rainy day while window was well closed. The carpet and wall got all wet along stuff that was laying by the window. 100 Euro deposit charged to Credit Card for drinks in the fridge. Never been charged for such a deposit until now but found it annoying to get it twice charged for 2 nights in the same week.

Pros: Wonderful 16th century property, with a beautiful garden and in a very quiet location. Just a ten minute drive to La Gacilly. Our hostess, Frédérique, was wonderful, as was her cooking! We very much enjoyed meeting the other guests at dinner and trying to improve our limited french! If you want somewhere beautiful and peaceful you should give this a try.

Pros: The whole experience was like a wonderful dream. The property itself was full of amazing artefacts. The cuisine was exceptionally good. The hostess was delightful- a most charming lady. And the huge fireplaces are to die for! If you want a real experience of old France in comfort - here it is!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Very spacious adjoining rooms. Well equipped kitchen facilities. Was a great base to go and explore Rennes. We only had one night but would go back. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had chosen it for the secure parking however it was full when we arrived. Wasn’t a huge issue as you can park on street outside and it’s free after 7 till 9 in the morning. There’s a nice little toy area at the front by reception which was great for keeping kids entertained during check in and loading the car back up.
Cons: Sofa bed was not the comfiest. There were only 3 bowls for 4 of us and one of the mugs was really cracked. Minor issues overall. Enjoyed our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I didn't eat the buffet breakfast, as I was out and about early every day, but the small kitchenette facilities were excellent for self-catering. I have only on one other occasion stayed in such a completely quiet hotel!!!! Brilliant sound-proofing for the room. Very comfortable beds, and very good facilities all round. I paid for parking at the hotel which was secure, and easy to access. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming too.

Pros: The staff was very kind .they did their utmost to make us feel fine.they were very helpful.the location was central but calm . breakfast was good enought we would fefinitelly recommend this hotel
8.0 Excellent
Pros: there could have been more gluten free things to eat at breakfast
Cons: I would have liked a very dark room to help me sleep better. The street lights outside were numerous and bright even on the 4th floor
9.5 Excellent
Pros: High standing Hotel with professional team, customer oriented (they ordered a taxi for me), with a nice lobby to relax or to work, ideally situated in the city center. Breakfast with high quality products.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Convenient to central town, restaurants, markets. After two discussions with staff, we were able to move from what they called a “cosy” room to a lovely normal-sized room. Breakfast was fine with granola, yogurt, breads, crepes, and choices of coffees and teas. Mixed fruit was mostly canned with only pineapple being fresh.
Cons: We were first assigned to what they called a “cosy” room which was much too small for two people and literally had no place to put even small carry-ons. Clearer description of “cosy” room on websites would be helpful.
7.5 Good
Pros: Well located and well appointed
Cons: No ventilation in the room or air conditioning. Need to keep windows open to get any air. However apartment was above a square of restaurants and the noise floated upto the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was central and the staff were most helpful. Thankfully the staff accommodated a change of room so when the temperature was 41 degrees, we moved to a room with air conditioning! Life saver!!
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff were very helpful. Decor is good. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast looked good but we didn't have any - it seemed expensive and we had to leave early.
Cons: There is no reception desk so it is difficult to deal with staff - there is no desk or table. The bedroom area was quite small (as with many hotels in France) with very limited space for storing cases, clothes etc.. Bathroom was very small and there is no sound insulation between the bedroom and bathroom.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Apartment was lovely, clean and comfortable.
Cons: Access into the apartment was very difficult with suitcases. A narrow doorway with a turn and 4 steps.
