I liked: 1- parking ease 2- proximity to everything 3- facilities (lounge and common area and coffee) 4- comfortable bed I disliked: 1- internet sucks! 2- staff can be irritating sometimes 3- one of my roomies smelled really bad. Made it tough to sleep 4- lockers could be converted to coded locks to avoid having to bring own padlock.
I planned a trip to NYC but my accommodation fell through at the last minute, so I booked a room with the NY Moore simply because it was the cheapest that I could find. I am so glad that I picked it, for a hostel it is very good indeed. The room that I stayed in was very spacious and clean (apart from a bit of dust on the skirting boards), the bathroom was spotless. The staff are very friend and helpful, and it is very near to quite a few subways; easy access to the city. I most definitely recommended The room that I was shown to by a member of staff the was not made up before I arrived, i had to wait outside the room until the maids were finished.
The friendly ppl who work there great atmosphere felt like a home away from home Nope
dirty, smelly, discusting
There were some kind of blood mark in one of the bed sheets. Also found one spider in the corner of the room. Except these two remaining everything was above expectations.
The close proximity to Manhattan (i.e. the short trip from the Roosevelt subway stop) and the low nightly rate are the most attractive features of the Kamay Lodge. The rooms were not spotless but were surprisingly cleaner than I expected. I still brought my sleeping bag and placed it on top of the bedding. The neighborhood is super sketchy.
