Pros: Excellent food, deco and very welcoming owners
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hospitality, lovely grounds with great views
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very delicious breakfast with fresh bread everyday! Great bed and lovely people
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness and kindness of the hosts and the dinner together with all the guests.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a phenomenal place if you are into quietness, nature and hiking. The walks directly around the house are great and also the other suggested walks by the hosts. The garden ist just fantastic to hang out and relax, the rooms are nice as well. The homemade bread for breakfast is to die for and the homemade dinners from the host Nathalie are super tasty too.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely the best B&B we've ever stayed in. Beautiful location, wonderful hosts, excellent evening meal. Although we were the only English guests at dinner - the other people were Dutch - it was like dining with friends. Natalie in particular was careful to include us in the conversation by translating. It was also the best meal we had on our trip and the option to choose and buy a local wine was an added extra. Rooms are themed and ours was beautifully decorated with an Aboriginal theme. Highly recommended.
Cons: Covered parking for the motorbike but really that is being picky

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent accomodation & faciilities. Great value
Cons: Perfect location but difficult to find from postcode, owner very helpful in guiding us to right place.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room, the idyllic garden and panoramic views exceeded our expectations. Nice spread at the breakfast for an affordable €7,5.
Cons: The narrow winding road leading up to the hotel can be a bit cumbersome (esp. with a mind numbed by several hours of driving).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A small, 10 or so room, rural hotel in the Vosges, run by a local family who also run an artisanal butchery in nearby Frelang, consequently the Alsatian charcuterie and restaurant dining room meat dishes are first class, with many types of game available. The owner is very friendly and helpful, wanting to make you stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast of local bread, charcuterie, cheese plus homemade preserves and patisseries is excellent.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Marvelous location up the mountain, spectacular views, loved the piglets, goats and ducks. Great little restaurant too, and very kind staff. What more could you want?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location in Kaysersberg Valley. Not far from mountains
Cons: Good place to be. Calm!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really tasty local, traditional Alsace food in the restaurant, breakfast looked great but we didn't have time to try it. Huge room, with everything you need. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and mountains. Loved the donkeys, ducks, goats and pigs in the grounds!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Remote location but under an hour to drive to some of the most scenic villages in France .Excellent food ,all resourced locally. Very helpfull owners and staff.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Restuarant open on Sunday and the Decore of the Restuarant inside, realy wish they had spent that much effort with the Chalet rooms Restuarant Food in the Evening was very quirkey and so nice to see someone was thinking outside of the Box The Terrace overlooking the Pond and the Valley, with an option to Dine out if you wished. Staff and Proprietor were very friendly, good command of English and so no misunderstanding or was there, see below
Cons: What totaly peeved me off was that after organising prior to arrival and again on the day of arrival with the Patron a Celebration Gateaux for my Wife's 60th Birthday they brought out a pityfull Teensie Weensie one bite cake with a single candle, I felt so embarrased, it was as if that was the best I could organise for her Big 60, not impressed! and I felt very insulted! No Milk or biscuits for our Tea in the room and No Coffee on our 1st Day, No Fan in the Room, No Handle on the Shower Door, Warm Water for our 1st Night's Shower [arrived at 6:30pm] and a BIG NO NO for being Charged for our Tiny Dog to Sleep on the Floor in our Chalet. The term "May Charge for a Dog" is just so misleading, especially if they always do charge # To sum up I would say that the marketing ploy here is to fill their Chalets by offering cheap rooms and then to make the Business Work around the fact that people need to eat and drink, a water in our room was priced at 3euro and the restuarant pricing is based upon this model. Le Domaine De Pairis - Orbey - Building

9.2 Excellent (350 reviews)

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, good breakfast, nice atmosphere
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The nature around the place is nice. The proposed nearby country restaurant was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The kindness and flexible way of the hosts. Mother and daughter. Nice beautiful, clean, quite place ! Lot's to do in the area.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice, quiet place up the hill from Kaysersberg. We were simply passing through on our way from Germany to Paris, and it was an ideal location. We arrived after hours but the hosts sent us a text with instructions to let ourselves in. There was nowhere to eat that was open when we arrived (@ 7 pm) so we drove down to Kaysersberg (15 min. away) where there are many excellent restaurants.
Cons: The location is a bit remote, but quiet.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff (owners?) were fantastic. Good advice where to go. Great breakfast. The price was unbeatable for a room of 3 people.
Cons: I like a bathtub with a shower curtain - and that was not available.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Service
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We were able to check in a bit early (noon) and then walk from the hotel to the start of the hiking path around several lakes in the area, which was perfect for our purposes. The mattress was a great firmness, clearly quite new (mid-firmness, and exactly as firm as what I use at home), great after being worn out from hiking. Quiet; thick walls and new windows. Clearly a well-renovated place. Lovely view of the back yard, with the windows open one could hear the rushing stream. Fromagerie around the corner, as well as a trout farm. Orbey is very close. We went to Kayserberg for dinner, which was an easy trip.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff is very friendly. Good location for the slopes of "Le lac blanc". You still need to go by car, but it's not so far. Very clean room. Very nice hotel inside, even if from outside seems a bit old. Free parking
Cons: The address on google maps is not very accurate, it leads you to some forest road if you miss to see the hotel on the main road. There are no restaurants around so you have to drive to another village to get some pizza. Breakfast was good, but not much variety. We asked for fried eggs and we were surprised to see we had to pay extra 7.50 euros for 6 eggs. We'll most probably go back, but we won't ask for eggs anymore :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly personel (mother and daughter), lovely breakfast with fresh products, they gave good recommendations for visiting the area

Overview Reviews

9.3 Excellent
Cons: The only drawback was the lack of AC in the room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The view was beautiful and the the room was rustic yet chic. We especially enjoyed the steam shower!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location. Very good restaurant. Very courteous staff. Our room was a bit warm, as it overlooked the parking area. We strongly recommend requesting a room with a view of the valley to the east.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything else was very good.
Cons: We were asked several times whether we were going to eat at their restaurant, by mail, call, when we arrived and left. Restaurant looks very nice and I can understand that they are very enthusiastic about it, but with their pricing and limited menu it was not an option for us. It feels bit forced if you ask several times which is not the best feeling.

Pros: Excellent restaurant and very romantic setting. Secluded but not isolated. Recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were kind, caring and hospital. For example, I have considerable dietary restrictions (gluten, lactose and soy), which they cheerfully and happily accommodated during my stay there. The walks through the forest and views along the crests of the surrounding hills were spectacular and very peaceful.

Pros: Great location only 30 min away from Colmar and Riquewihr! We had a big terrace with a wonderfull view (we stayed at Family Suite « Tourmaline » with two bedrooms for 4 adults). We were also provided with a baby bed for our 2 yo son. A suite is so stylish and atmospheric and also perfectly clean! The same is about the all house! Real french breakfast is included. You will fill special, for sure!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was so cosy and very clean. The food served in the restaurant staffed by the owner's family was great! Great value for money.
Cons: The shower could use a bit more pressure. I would have liked knowing that there was a surcharge for traveling with a dog.

Pros: Amazing hosts and very good food! Thank you Marrie & Daniel Pierre
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent stay! We will definitely recommend it to all our Geneva friends - especially the nature and food lovers. Very quiet, peaceful and revitalising environment. Top notch service by the host, Marie-Pierre. Excellent quality products, home-made or sourced from local farms. We had a particular soft spot for the breakfast which includes chef Daniel's home-made bread & jam, freshly pressed orange juice and coffee sourced from local roaster!
Cons: The slightly high price point, although perfectly justified by the high quality of the products, service and facilities.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Marie-Pierre and Daniel are lovely hosts who clearly have a passion for what they do. One can tell they are hospitality professionals as everything was perfect, clean, attention to details, dinner was excellent. Fresh and local produce. There are plenty michelin star restaurants in a 20km radius so lots of options for foodies.
Cons: Nothing really, location off the beaten tracks but that's what we were looking for.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent place and excellent team. Marie and Daniel are just wonderful. They have set the perfect balance between homestay and 5* luxury. Daniel is a wonderful chef and do not miss the dinner. It is just perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My favorite spot in this house was the garden. We had a wonderful spring day and this peaceful and genuinely decorated space was a blast to relax. You gotta try the lounge chair! Marie-Pierre makes everything look so pretty. I fall in love with Daniel’s breakfast: simple fresh products form the neighborhood and so beautifully arranged. This is an artistic, nature beloved atmosphere.
Cons: I try my best to find something negative ..
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Serendipity. This would be my word to describe this place. Marie-Pierre and Daniel are two magical souls. They make you feel at home away from home and know perfectly how to sharpen your curiosity about their passion: food. Every minute you spend in this bubble of peace refines your 5 senses. It is a EU version of the movie Eat, pray, love I am very sensitive about high quality of bedding, I have to point this one out. Best linen ever for a perfect nesting WE. The indoor and outdoor decoration is pure and melts perfectly into the overflowing nature. This was definitely my treat of the year. Thank you so much.
Cons: Maybe an outdoor hot tub? For even more Hygge =)

9.5 Excellent
Pros: View, design, hosts and their knowledge of the re, breakfast, ...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: By far the most charming and helpful hosts I have ever had the pleasure of staying with in 25 years of staying at B&Bs.
Cons: It was fantastic, utterly magical.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are extremely welcoming and helpful. The room has a stunning view on the valley, the bed is one of the most comfortable bed we slept in. The room is very spacious with nice design elements and extremely clean. We had airco which was absolutely necessary this particular weekend in France. We went biking and Maurice, the owner, gave us great road recommendations. Edith, his wife is a brilliant cook, amongst being really friendly and was also great in giving us restaurant and winery recommendations. Ideal for a long weekend.
Cons: This will sound lame but cannot think of one thing that wasn’t up or beyond our expectations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything about this property - our room was huge, sat high up on the hill with stunning views of the valley, other hills and sunsets, spacious bathroom with large walk in shower, 2 sinks and lots of storage space. The toilet had its own room with sink. The room had a long couch, chair, table & nice stools and the most comfortable king bed ever! The breakfasts were fabulous - fresh breads, pastries, orange juice, homemade apple juice, coffee, meats, cheeses, yogurt and creamy butter. The hosts were very helpful (recommended hikes, restaurants, vineyards, etc.) and were just such friendly, genuinely nice people. We did not want to leave after 3 nights. Highly recommend this place (short drive to all the wine trail towns with no parking issues) and we will definitely stay here again if in the area!
Cons: Nothing; everything was perfect!

7.5 Good
Pros: Perfectly nice host! Nice neighbourhood, though it's not so easy to reach this place. Roads are narrow and steep, so particularly in winter time please have well equipped car. Nice breakfast, though there were no hot dishes.
Cons: A little bit noisy rooms - can hear most of what happens in the corridors. Metal bed is not the most comfortable. I don't know the French level of prices for this kind of accomodation, but comparing to Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Spain etc - I paid much more here (from 21% to 69% more, depending on the selected benchmark) without getting something much better. So that's why the quality/price ratio is quite low in my eyes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice family-owned place, great breakfast and home-cooked dinner with local ingredients, child-frendly with a separate play area for kids with toys and books, 10 minutes from the skislopes (do bring snow chains as the road is not cleaned).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly stuff and beautiful view :)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice place to stay, friendly personel, parking space ok, good breakfast, only when there is snowfall it is necessary to put on snowchaines to get too the skipistes
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. Our hosts were so nice and very helpful. The breakfast was really nice with lots of choices (breads, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, fresh jams, cake etc). We had dinner there as well, which we really liked. All in all it was the perfect place
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Simple , no frills, hotel, located on a steep hill outside Orbey, backing on to a river, which you can hear from your room. Nice surrounding landscape- good for walking. Warm welcome from hosts. Private parking. Friendly, no problem attitude. Meals and drinks very reasonably priced. Decent Wi-Fi.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you want to be treated like a guest visiting friends instead of being a customer of a hotel company, go here an feel the difference.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had two fabulous nights here at the beginning of August. Rose Marie and Serge run a fantastic Chambre D'Hote. The room was beautiful, with lots of personal touches which gave it character. The bed was extremely comfortable and it was very quiet and peaceful in the room. I slept the best that I had for a week! The outside terrace had a wonderful view over the hills, into the village of Orbey. Perfect for aperitifs and after dinner drinks!! The home cooked food made the most of local ingredients and was extremely delicious. Rose Marie and Serge's hospitality was so warm and friendly. We loved speaking French and them replying to us in English! We would highly recommend staying here.

Pros: Away up in the mountains, very pretty and very quiet. Hosts very knowledgeable and helpful. Great tea and coffee and honesty bar system.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Maggie and Philippe were welcoming, solicitous hosts. We had intended to rent a car to get to La Haute Grange but when our plans changed they made it possible for us to combine a delightful stay in an out-of-the-way place in the French countryside with sightseeing in Colmar and Strasbourg. Breakfast was delicious!
Cons: We enjoyed everything.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautifully maintained in glorious gardens set high in the hills. The whole place is spotless and full of amazing fixtures and fittings. It is a great base to explore the vineyards or allow the hosts, Margaret and Philippe, to recommend wonderful villages and restaurants.
Cons: Nothing. This place is fabulous. 10/10
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were excellent host. The ambience is relaxing, the whole place is beautiful and very clean. Definitely a great place to relax and unwind.
Cons: Everything was to my expectations!❤️
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is gorgeous. The hosts are friendly and very helpful with everything from reservations to walking maps. The gardens and views are spectacular.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Philippe and Margaret could not have been nicer and more accommodating. So knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast Margaret put together each morning was the absolute highlight. Phillips gave us so much history about the region and told us things we never could have learned from a book. They each cared so much about where we were going and how they could help make it better for us. Easily the best part of our European trip. My only regret is we didn’t stay for longer - next time ! Already planning our next trip!!!
Cons: At times we felt we were an imposition to our hosts , which we understood but it made us feel like we had upset someone which isn’t great for vacation mode. It was our first stay at a TRUE bed and breakfast so we just had to learn the rules- you are in someone’s house rather than having the anonymity of being at a hotel. But overall it was a wonderful stay and I would definitely go back!! Have already recommended to all our friends and family.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Margaret and Vincent are consummate hosts with a wealth of information in the Alsace region.
Cons: Wish even scrambled eggs could have been available.

Pros: Wonderful welcoming family style. Beautiful grounds. Lovely facilities. Nothing was a problem for the staff. Food was amazing. The best accommodation so far on a long trip in France.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: New building is fantastic; fresh trout from their stream-side trout tank;
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in one of the modern rooms in a building overlooking the gardens, so this review does not necessarily apply to the original part of the hotel. Our room was very large, modern, clean and with a terrace. Totally relaxing after a drive from Genoa. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. Restaurant is good, breakfast is good. The location fits the description of beautiful. The grounds and garden are well maintained.
Cons: No coffee or tea facility in room. This was the second time in 5 weeks that we stayed at hotels in Vosges Mountains, neither had coffee or tea in the rooms so this may be a characteristic of the hotels in this area.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A very pleasant overall experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I can honestly report that this hotel is absolutely fantastic in all respects. We did not use the swimming pool but from our inspection it looked extremely inviting. We simply did not have the time. All staff were very hospitable and catered to our every need instantly. Well Done to you all.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, great restaurant and good for families.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is very nice, the breakfast is good, staff is friendly. The wine from their own yard is very tasty, especially the Pinot Gris and the Gewürztraminer.
Cons: There were heavy and loud road works during the night in front of the hotel. I do not complain about the works itself, because the hotel owner/staff can't do anything about it, but the hotel could have offered some incentives (e.g. free breakfast, bottle of wine, etc.) because of the noise at night. The restaurant is OK, but not very inspiring. We had the menu for 35 Euro, 4 courses, the first one was "Greetings from the kitchen", which was a bread with Salami (which was good, but I expect a little more for a fine French restaurant and usually this doesn't count as a course). The duck as the main course was a bit dry, the sauce was not really tasty. Overall was the price for the diner too high in comparison to the quality.
6.3 Good
Pros: Interesting old, refurbished building. Staff is nice and helpful.
Cons: Breakfast was delusional: croissants, pain au chocolat and the local cake were clearly from 1 or 2 days before: super, super dry. Not one or two, but all of them!

The breakfast was really good and varied with croissants, pains au chocolat, home-made jams, local cheese and charcuterie, crunchy baguettes and tasty coffee. The dinner offered on demand was good value for money. The children loved all the pets!

Pros: The staff were amazing. Our car wasn’t powerful enough to make it up the mountain to the hotel (if coming in winter bring chains.) The staff helped us get our car out of an icy situation and parked. Then they drove us, our dog and our stuff up the mountain to the hotel. The restaurant was excellent. The staff friendly. The view was amazing. I will definitely be coming back!

Pros: The staff is very friendly. The manager/owner is a very helpful lady. We have a 6 months old baby and we needed some access to the kitchen. She even allowed my wife to use the kitchen under the supervision of the Chef. This brought a lot of peace to us. Good breakfast (Coffee could be better). Parking place right behind the hotel, felt safe to park the car there. Rooms super clean and seemed recently built/re-decorated. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
Cons: I recommend adding some vegetarian dishes to the restaurant-menu.

Cons: Main building had the restaurant and some rooms upstairs. WiFi was very good in the restaurant but we were in an unattached building which was nice but the wifi was poor.

Pros: The owner was very polite and courteous. I was surprised how thick the blankets were. Very nice. Every day they put a bottle of water for everyone. I guess it's a small family hotel, everything was world class.
Cons: The refrigerator did not cool.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The man who we interacted with most was beyond fantastic and welcoming. We arrived too late for dinner but we asked for a cheese plate and he (and the kitchen) was so very accommodating. I expected a few pieces of cheese but he brought us an extravagant plate of cheese and meat and a beautiful artichoke. Breakfast was very good - sort of a cross between a German breakfast and a French one. Very good and plentiful. The room had great water pressure and hot water. The room was clean and without flaws. We were to the front of the building and the view was very nice.
Cons: I can't think of any negatives.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The dinner was good. The place excellant for walking the GR5

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good, but 10 euros is a little steep. Extremely pleasant staff, and they let us use the garage to put the motorbikes locked away overnight.
Cons: Slightly cheaper breakfast, but I am splitting hairs here. The rooms are not super quiet and the bed was nicely firm, but kind of tilted to the centre.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good price
Cons: Noisy room as morning trafic starts at 6. Ols fashioned rooms and bathroom

Cons: Absolutely nothing

Cons: After hiking, I was starving and eagerly waited Alsatian sized portions, but left a bit hungry, because the restaurant was Italian with antipasti and a quite small lasagne. (:

Cons: Tv was missing. Also shower appeared quite dirty.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clarisse was very kind. House-made yogurt and the chocolate croissant.
Cons: Walls are thin so other guests can be heard. However, everyone was quiet through the late evening and night so we slept just fine. Shower was very small but we just stayed one night so just opted not to use.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very lovely staff, good for getting places and great biking roads. Parking excellent.
Cons: Walls a bit thin so you could hear everyone else but after 10pm, they make a point of it being quiet for all guests. Maybe breakfast could do with more than bread, juice, jam and coffee such as meat or cheese, maybe. Local Munster perhaps.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice host ,the location is not very modern but is clean and cozy. Is a very good option for a short stay. The area is very quiet .
Cons: Bathroom is a bit old school.
9.5 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: At Les Sorbiers we received an heartwarming welcome despite we arrived late at night. The homemade dinner was delicious and they also prepared a vegetarian version of the dishes for me. The room was very comfortable and well organized. Thank you again! :)
6.8 Good
Pros: The owner was very friendly and our small dog was completely welcomed.
Cons: The reviews of the hotel were very good but there were some issues. The town where the hotel is located has no restaurants and the hotel does not serve dinner. Also, the internet in the hotel was not working and the beds were not comfortable at all. This isn’t a glowing review, but the owner was very nice, breakfast was sufficient, and the little village was only 15-20 minutes from towns with more amenities. The cost was certainly affordable, but I can’t recommend it.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location in the mountains. Very warm and friendly welcome when we arrived and throughout our stay. Our room was lovely and comfortable. Evening meal was tailored to our dietary requirements and was delicious. Our concerns about the church bells were satisfied when they stopped during the evening and didn't start again until 8am. Loved our stay here and would love to return for some walking in the mountains.
Cons: The local cockerels woke up quite a while before we wanted to! We were able to fall back to sleep again once we got used to their voices :)
5.8 Okay
Cons: There was 22 flies in my room, witch I killed. The scrues in the wall was falling out(not holding the shelves)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful welcome and the food was outstanding. The village is peaceful and unspoilt and in a lovely setting.
Cons: We find synthetic sheets uncomfortable. As walkers, we found the provisions in the local store very limited on the day we set off, no small bottles of water and fresh bread was sold out at 10am.

Pros: The breakfast was delicious. Fresh bread, good coffee and orange juice and a selection of tasty meats and cheeses! The best feature of this place is the hostess. She is a delight and very helpful in recommending things to do in the area. Our nine year old son especially enjoyed the presence of the chocolate Labrador and playing with him in the garden!
