The owners Sophie and Alain are probably the best hosts I've ever met out of the hundreds of hotels I've stayed at. They went above and beyond to assist us with all our travel issues (unrelated to the hotel itself) and made us feel like home. Room was not very big (the huge bed was probably 75% of the room) but probably pretty standard for France.
Lovely hotel and food in a beautiful setting. The rooms are stylish and well-fitted.The location is ideal for a whole variety of activities. The staff are very helpful Wifi is advertised as being available through out the hotel and it is but has to be requested and has to be switched by on the hotel to be used. They also switch it off again too. It also comes with a complex password so, in summary, is not readily available. Hotel is on the expensive side once you add in the cost of breakfast and evening meal.
my widows faced the indoor pool, that was packed with kids from 9am to 11 pm.
Not the Holiday Inn quality we are used to. Several things broken...elevator, spa heater, ice machine. Pool and spa water very dirty (cloudy and green). Coffee maker was only 1 cup at a time, no fridge (had to use a trash can as a cooler). AC stuck on low. Had to ask the front desk 3 times for pool towels, took over an hour.
Well, when we got there the staff where nice. But the carpets to the rooms where very stained. It smelt like someting was damp and when i opend the room door, it stank. It smelt like mold or somthing had been left wet in there for days. My hubbie had to get a different room. It was much better but i would not stay there again with my family. Sorry to say as the staff where nice but it was just not kept up. I know it in an old town but if your offering a service, make it a good one. Thanks
HOUSEKEEPING: Lack of towels-No dusting/sweeping-Lack of Amedities. Door left ajar a couple of times after maid service. No HBO schedule for July.SERVICES: Elevator works only 5 of 7 days-Lobby's complimentary coffee only get filled once in the morning!-One ice machine of three works 30% of the time. One room got flooded and ran into the indoor pool (where did the water come from?
Hotel is outdated.Appears to have been a smaller hotel that they added two buildings to,resulting in what used to be an outdoor pool becoming an indoor, and seemingly open to the public based on how many people left the hotel lot after the pool closed.B'fast is only meal restaurant serves,so kids eat free is out the window after 11.No fridges in room, broken ice machines everywhere. Not what they show themselves to be in their info,I will not be back.
Checked in at 10PM and ate at Ledo. Went to room and young people all over-hanging out and running around. Cleaning staff all over-talking. Room dirty. Went to bed @11PM and pounding on door next to us and couple screaming and fighting and child crying. After 15 minutes of this, we pack up and go to desk. Wait 20 minutes and nobody comes. Go back to room and leave first thing in AM.
We were very disappointed. The hotel needs major updates. The lobby, pool and other areas were very run down.
I don't know where to begin. Staff was below average. The pool was very dirty, the water was green, cloudy and it smelled. The building is in serious need of repairs. On the upper floors their are stairs in the hall making moving your luggage quit a choir. We could not find a luggage cart. Some of the rooms side on the indoor pool and can be very loud. The windows did not close all the way in the room. House cleaning were cleaning rooms all hour of the night and day. Just don't stay there.
The Holiday Inn in Downtown Wilmington should be ashamed of itself. First of all, the hotel was completely misrepresented on the internet. The lobby, the halls, and the room were drab and not clean. The cleaning staff's equipment was present in the halls all throughout the day and night of our stay, but I do not think they were utilized on the rooms. The pool and hot tub were not heated. The staff was unprofessional and not courteous. The only positive thing I can write about this hotel is its proximity to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens.
This is the nastiest Holiday Inn we have ever stayed in! The red tile floors and many sections of carpet were absolutely filthy! The pool water was cloudy and puddles of dirty water surrounded the pool. The carpet in the room and the elevator looked like they hadn't been vaccumned in weeks. The bathtub had hair in it and there was mold on the shower curtain. I wouldn't stay at this hotel if it was free! We spoke with the manager soon after arrival, but saw no chnge in the 2 days we were there.
The elevators needed a lot of work, the elevators only worked half of the time. A couple of people got stuck in the elevator for a half of an hour they had to call the fire department to get the elevator to work and that wasn't the first time that happened. Also the breakfst was ok, the scrambled eggs could bounce they had a big assortment of food. They have temperpedic beds, and nice bathrooms but when you take a shower it would flood the bathroom and sink area. I would probably go there again if they fix all of those mistakes!
Idealy placed enroute to Spain. Affordable,Comfortable. To be highly recomended Limited directions but found easily by downloading the TomTom app for Buffallow Grills as one is ideally placed opposite.
That the security agent was king enough to help us out with the code of the door that didn't work. That it didn't have someone at the reception 24/7.
None Small bedroom , small bathroom , no lift ,
Nice basic hotel, clean & beds are comfortable. T.v with English channels. Good budget hotel for someone who will not be spending much time in room and just needs somewhere to sleep. On-site parking with no additional charge.
Good location, low price, parking Strong smell of chemicals (disinfection ?) in the room, quite difficult to find when going from highway A9 (exit 42) - remember to print a detailed map !
Beautiful location, exceptionally clean appearance, easy to find, realaxed atmosphere. Both a buffet dinner and an an a la carte menu were displayed outside of the dining room for a 7.30 p.m. start. We waited until the start time only to find out that the a la carte menu was not being offered. We only wanted a small meal and after having a drink at the bar, a drive downtown was not an option. The walk was a long way.
nothing At first we was try find this hotel about 2 h Direction is wrong. Very small room and bathroom It is smaller then on sailing yacht. In water was too much chlor smelling everywhere. Very noisy. This night was terrible.
proximity to the motorway and the availability of secure parking at a reasonable price. Whilst all things in the rooms worked okay the size of the shower esecially the entrance to it was very small for big people.
convenient location for modern art museum in Ceret and 24 hour reception.
nice small little town a bit old fashioned, bathroom not really up to standards
Food was good though buffet selections ran out and were slow to be replaced; breakfast more than adequate. Staff charming but not very professional, first room offered had no lavatory seat, second time round had choice of two , one chosen old fashioned but spacious.
Mas Latour Lavail is a GORGEOUS renovated villa. It only has 5 rooms total so you practically have the entire place to yourselves. The owner lives on the property and is exceptionally friendly. The staff is so kind and helpful and went out of their way to help our group of 9 with three small kids. The hotel is out of the main city and you will need a car or taxi to access. It is down narrow roads (sometimes dirt) depending on which way you approach. I was a little nervous driving there at first given the roads, but was pleasantly surprised upon arrival at how beautiful it wad despite the remote location.
location and the excellent restaurant refurbishment of the room is a bit outdated
The quality of the room was good. It was amazingly quiet and calm despite it's location on the edge of Perpignan. The food served up in the evening looked and smelt excellent, but was too expensive for our budget and we had allready had a big meal at lunch time!! However, we would have no hesitation to stay at the hotel again, and you never know we might even eat in the restaurant!!
Excellent Restaurant Very good Ambiance
The surroundings, food, rooms and staff were fantastic. The staff were so accommodating, we were able to arrange a dinner party for 15 pesons with one days notice. Did I mention the staff were fantastic!!! A comment only, is that this hotel isn't central to the town (only about a 5min drive). this didn't affect us but may be of interest to others.
staff were helpful. do not like ground floor rooms - i should have mentioned it on the booking. really nice though - private and quiet, will go back. hated the set menu at the weekend - i like a la carte - vegetarian and eat little. did not ike the constant hoover in the pool as i like to swim.
excellent food and service, nice surroundings, attractive rooms difficult to find, saw little of their claimed park and wildlife.
Food in restaurant was very good. Overall very nice room and hotel in general was quite nice.
Very little, the room and bathroom were clean. There is a restaurant which is an enormous part of this hotel, it is run for the benefit of local business people but is the only on-site source of food for the hotel. Room service is only available when they say it is. The managerial staff at the restaurant clearly do not enjoy guests from the hotel eating there and expect the worst tables and cold service. The restaurant tables surround the pool on three sides, which is not shown in the pictures and you are not allowed to swim in the pool before 9am or after 7pm. If you swim between 12 and 3pm, expect an audience of local businessmen to watch and comment. The gardens shown also host functions, during lunch and in the evening. Basically, holiday guests are suffered but not really welcome
Every thing was perfect ,the team very friendly and helpfull ,we had a fantastic room ,with a beautiful view ,ademas el restaurant estaba excelent
The food was at a very high standard
Reasonably priced plain hotel, very suitable for an overnight stop when travelling on the motoway. Dining room is shut on Saturday and Sunday nights throughout the winter.
Convenient and good value for money Room booked with additional bed. Despite note on booking form to hotel this information was not relayed to the receptionist/domestic staff. I had to explain to her and show my email confirmation for this to be actioned. On finding the hotel copy of the booking form it was evident that the information was as I had said. The additional bed arrived in time for the night.
Very very basic hotel. Easy to get off motorway best I can say. Very poor basic hotel. I will never book a basic hotel (which I would only use whilst travelling) that is not part of a chain again. Novotel,Comfort Hotels, formula1 etc are cheaper and infinately better reliable standard. sorry answered above... only good thing was ease of access off motorway
nice sized bedroom....swimming pool...reasonably close to the coast one reception staff was most arrogant and unhelpful when asked to explain the bill as we were leaving on Saturday morning 14th August. Such a shame as other staff were most helpful and pleasant
swimming pool, convenient location, car parking very basic - no aircon or tea making facilities in room - bathroom only just adequate - all in need of refurb but did the job for a short stay
We did not realise there was no restaurant avaiable on the sunday we arrived so we went out and got a sandwich
Very friendly proprietor who speaks good English and made us very welcome and was helpful in guidance as to where we could eat in the evening. As it was market day the morning following our arrival parking was a bit of a problem.
Location was good. Easy to find. Staff very pleasant and obliging. Good breakfast for 6€ Whilst the bathroom was very modern and clean the bedroom had some damp and wallpaper coming adrift. We booked a spacious twin room and finished up with a double and had to pay extra for toilet facilites in the room
Easy to reach, friendly people, suited purpose more than fine.
WIFI was not working, bed was completly worn out like U form, very poor standard, parking free of charge if you are lucky if in the street are places free
Near the city centre and near the university. Very nice staff. The room was not very large but it was clean.
very friendly proprieter and his family. Made us feel very welcome. better lighting in the bathroom would have been good.
very thin walls you can hear the other even when he goes to toilet
Good price, free parking places near the hotel breakfast
staff were very friendly, spoke good english and gave good infomation. free wireless internet.
the staff and the breakfast The room is not large
Hotel was clean and staff friendly. room and general facility was poor. Security poor.
Small, friendly hotel No tea or coffee in room
from the moment we booked in the staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome
We arrived at the hotel planning to stay for three nights. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, the room (which had apparently been recently renovated) was of typical French dimensions (I.E., small), clean, and the bathroom was nicely equipped and also clean. The only indication of needed work was some peeling paint on the wall above the shower. The towels were also a little threadbare but very clean. But, we had to check out after one night because the bed was the hardest we have ever encountered. (During the night I actually checked to make sure that I was not sleeping on a board covered with a thin pad.) We checked with the staff and they said that all the rooms had been redone and contained the same beds.
Room was clean and just enough space to move around. Bed was comfortable. Was good value for a night's stay if you are travelling on the next day. Next door to good restaurant. Very few power points which was a nuisance for recharging cameras and phones etc. The bathroom was a work of art! Successfully shower in one and you qualify for the Mire space station! I barely managed but my husband had big problems as there was simply no room at all. Could be noisy as close to a main road and this was a very busy and popular hotel. Only suitable for a one night stay as no space to unpack and only a couple of hooks glued to the wall. Hotel was very difficult to find, we travelled round several country roads looking for it. Late book in at 5pm was inconvenient.
the room at perpignan had a distinct bad smell, although we could not recognise it
Can arrive very late and get a good nights rest The directions to this hotel on the website are wrong.
not much to do at night time, rooms not comfort when staying in to fay away from perpignan, should have time tables for buses to perpignan and back in hotel, taixes cost to much.
Extremly clean and well presented
We found the Perpignan Sud a convenient, clean and comfortable place to spend the night during our return from Barcelona. We would certainly stay there again. As an inexpensive overnight stay it is to be recommended.
Conenience, cheap and easy to find
Clean cheap hotel A long way from the town and problems getting around without a car.
clean room, comfortable, lovely staff and security took over 1 hour to find the place and I had been warned it was difficult. make sure you get exact directions. look out for auchan shopping centre, its behind that!
nothing The place is disgusting. The room was very dirty and it's very noisy. It was almost impossible to find the hotel, although we had a gps. I tried to complain, but the receptionist could not understand one word in English and did not make an effort to understand my intermediary French. I would never come back or recommend it.
clean, well furnished, free internet
Excellent hotel. Staff were most friendly and helpful. We had a few wonderful days in La Fauceille. None
Room was fine. City view was a worksite but the pool side was very nice and the food was fantastic. Not really. All was pretty much OK. Staff were very helpful and quite jolly.
The hotel is in excellent condition, the pool was lovely and the staff were wonderful. Location - you need a car to get to the hotel - the web-site description suggests it was near to the centre of Perpignan, whereas in fact it was a 10 minute drive. Certainly not walking distance.
New hotel, fresh and easy acces from the motorway. Parking and internet connection included in the price The price is much too high for such location (140 Euro/night) and such hotel. The room are quite small but the bathroom is definetly too small. The swiming pool is more a great jacusi than a real pool as it is so small.
Very good service, central location in Beziers that needs only one nights visit Cost effective recent makeover of hotel
The facilities and staff were great here. A gymnasium, swimming pool, sauna and wellbeing centre were a plus too. Food was excellent. The hotel was like an oasis in downtown Perpignan. Away from the continuous through traffic which we did not like! Near to the Pyrenees and the coast without having to drive through the town centre! When we first arrived at the front it looked like a motel stuck in the middle of an industrial site with some parts being developped. But when we drove around the back to the reception and walked through the doors, our opinions changed.
Comfortable, friendly (except Restaurant) Location - this is well out of town in a Commercial/Business area . Restaurant was mediocre and expensive
The hotel was very delicate with good facilities. The excercise room was a good thing! Thje personnel was friendly and very serviceminded! We definitely would like to come back! Absolutely nothing!
Staff welcoming and friendly. great car parking. Restaurant food very good but over priced.
I liked the location and the very helpful, friendly manager: It was suitable for a one or two night stay: The bed was very clean and comfortable. I thought the bedroom door lock could have been more secure.
We came across with a really friendly staff who helped us to locate a near-by mechanic for our car. The room also had some view.
Clean room and and bed linen clean showerand washing cubile Could do with an update on room decor
Hotel staff were very helpful and welcoming, even when arriving in the dead of night. dont really, there was a toilet with sink - did exactly what it said on the tin. not sure where the showers where though, but that didnt bother me.
The hotel is the center of a nice little town. The management was very nice but they did not charge us for the room until checkout, only then did we discover that we were being charged 11€ for 2 breakfasts that were not worth 2€. The hotel has no lift so we had to leave our luggage in a room on the ground floor. This required several trips up 3 flights of stairs as we remembered additional things we needed. Please note breakfast is not included in the price of the room and they charged 5.50€ each for 1 croissant, 1 orange juice 2 baguette slices and tea. We did not know there was a limit and each took an extra croissant from an empty table. They clearly did not like us doing that.
The staff was nice The reduced space for four people. No lift
Exceptionally pleasant and helpful staff and a great breakfast at a reasonable price.
The hotel was really in the center of town and close to all amenities, being also within easy walking distance of the countryside It was very hot the night we stayed in hotel and a little airconditioning would have been appreciated. This is only negative comment I have to make. I would definitely return to this hotel and probably will
Staff were excellent superbly friendly and very helpful highly recommend on that alone - hotel itself is great value Breakfast was a bit basic but not overpriced
We stayed a single night while driving from Switzerland to Spain. We thought the staff were lovely and it was great value for money. Highly recommend to anyone who needs basic accommodation i.e, a bed for the night. On the advice of people on booking.com, we didn't get the breakfast and we were glad - it looked like bad value. Other than that, no complaints - we got what we expected!
Why were not informed that the hotel was only half built
The location was quiet which is what we prefer, We were able to get a taxi to take us where we needed to be. The renovations did not interfer with the enjoyment of our stay
There were some decent places to eat nearby and luckily there was an adequate bus service. The room was fine with decent faclities. Hotel was undergoing extensive refurbishment and the pool was dirty. We were not advised of this - also we felt we wre too far from town as we had gone to watch the Rugby
Convenient location out of town with very good facilities and with good size rooms that were keep very clean. Bar service was a little hit and miss with no service on sunday night!
The spaces for sitting; the pool and surrounds;terrace dining; a comparatively large room with excellent bathroom; general design and ambience. The location was off putting. No opportunity strolling out in the evening. Information on buses not always accurate, though we used them once we got a timetable from the tourist office. Hotel menu limited for dining and few local alternatives.
Room Hotel in middle of upgrade. Pool Full of debris. Dust everywher. Noise through the day
Renovations taking place
Professional and friendly staff. Excellent food and good outside eating area overlooking pool and mountains Restricted menu
Convenient location to visit family in the area. Not close or convenient to anything else in the city of Perpignan without using a cab.
The staff was very helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, the food in the restaurant was excellent. I chose the hotel because it is a short walk from the university which was convenient for me, but it is situated in an uninteresting suburban shopping area - no mediterranean charm at all.
