Pros: Super property, Philippe a wonderful host. Would love to stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What not?! The room was excellent. I have severe allergies and normally have to stipulate that the room needs to be dustfree. However, this was not necessary here. The room and bathroom were perfectly clean. Silvie was great! Although her English was basic and our French was very very basic, we were able to understand each other. Silvie was very friendly and accomodated every wish. We had a lovely breakfast with other (French) guests. Try the chocolate milk:-). Unfortunately, we could only stay one night, but we will definitely return. We went to visit Maroilles and this was ar an excellent distant of 15 minutes.
Cons: Nothing!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location - very relaxed beside the stream running at back of house.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were lovely and very helpful. The location was perfect for us, we were visiting Le Quesnoy for ANZAC celebrations, but we toured the beautiful French countryside also. The house and rooms are stunning, so tastefully and artfully presented, the facilities were great, and the grounds and general location so pretty and restful - we extended our stay. A perfect base to explore the area, or just rest from travels for a while.
Cons: Can't fault it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Where do I start, this was the biggest surprise! The house was amazing and our rooms too, all differently decorated with eclectic furnishing and lighting, the latter all different throughout the house. The house is set in beautiful grounds surrounded by unbroken countryside with places to sit out in the evening with a drink and enjoy the views. Dianne and Frederik were great hosts who were around if we needed them but not intrusive. Breakfast was good quality everything and very enjoyable. There are common rooms guests can use with tea and coffee facilities. This chamber d’hotes would give any 5* Hotel a run for their money!
Cons: Nothing, nothing, nothing,
9.5 Excellent

Pros: Very nice, calm house. The owners have very good advice about the best restaurants. Big garden with local wildlife, like rabbits and partridges. Breakfast is about the best you get in France! They even offer different types of cheese (which is very uncommon in France)!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were wonderful, the room was beautiful and the bed was great! Windows on two sides allowed for a breeze at night. The bathroom was modern and well designed. The food was incredible! It was our favorite so far this trip!
Cons: Nothing, would go back and stay at the first opportunity!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hosts Diane and Frédéric are great. They know lots about the area and what is going on. We enjoyed talking with them and learning about Valenciennes. They have done a beautiful job on renovating an old character home.
Cons: I can't imagine this stay having been any better, but people should be aware that it is not possible to walk to restaurants for dinner. You will need a car or bicycles. One day we got dinner from the grocery store in Préseau and ate in the back yard of Hermitage Henry -- very pleasant!

Cons: Nothing
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: We arrived a bit late to be met by a lady and her two fractious kids. No lights were on in the reception area and it was obvious she was not happy to have waited for us. She showed me the room and then asked about breakfast time. When I said that we probably wouldn't have breakfast she showed me where to leave the key and left. That was it. No other sight nor sound of her or anyone. The restaurant was not, as advertised, a part of the hotel but down the road up a 'fire-escape'. Dreadful experience and certainly not a 'boutique' hotel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A great little B&B that really surprised us in a good way. The interior is very modern with great beds! The breakfast was very good. The very nice owner made sure our stay was absolutely perfect!

Pros: Wonderful little hotel with an individual style (think Poirot....). Gorgeous garden and a little oasis. Perfect location for exploring battlefields. The staff could not have been kinder or more welcoming and helpful -even down to the owner driving us to the station which was way over and above necessity. Sadly being August and a Sunday the restaurant was closed as the food is meant to be good ...the breakfast however was delicious and started early which was great for us. Thank you Hotel Beatus, we will be back.
Cons: Nothing. It was brilliant

Pros: Hotel was very well appointed. Room was very comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was an all you can eat buffet, and really set you up for the day. The location of the hotel is fantastic - it sits in its own garden, so you hardly know you are in the town of Cambrai at all. The owner (Philippe) even drove me to the railway station himself on my final day in Cambrai - wouldn't let me call a taxi!
Cons: Nothing - enjoyed everything about the hotel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The garden was delightful. And we were able to enjoy a pre-dinner and post dinner drink. A co-owned restaurant 2 minutes walk was pleasant.
Cons: We booked for the garden and in house restaurant and bar. But the restaurant was closed to guests because of a regular private appointment.

4.3 Okay
Pros: Not much
Cons: The website said the room was for 3 people. When we arrived the rooms could comfortably cater for 4 people. We had 7 in our party so we booked 3 rooms. Once we inspected the rooms we advised staff we only wanted two rooms. After lengthy discussion we still had to pay for part of the 3rd room which was never used. Very unfair as the advertising was misleading. This needs to be addressed. We would certainly like a refund.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A quite unique experience! Outstanding quality of service: very human and highly personalised. It is located in a manoir. The Internet is working very well; The breakfast is fantastic (and we do mean it!). The two owners are taking care, a lot. If you are looking for peace of mind, relaxation, please do not hesitate. Don't bring with you small children. You can enjoy the lovely park, especially if the weather is good. We both enjoyed our stay and will return if we have to stop again in the area of Cambrai. It is easy to find good restaurants in and around Cambrai.
Cons: Nothing. We cannot ask for more. We were treated like princes and we were delighted. Very cool and relaxing too. We did not like to quit after a two nights stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This a beautiful hotel decorated with fabulous styling. We were warmly greetd by the owner and he proudly showed us around the beautful manor and gardens that took him 7 years to renovate to a very high standard. He saw that I had a bike on the car and immediately offred to store it in his garage which I did. We loved everything about the Manoir and want to stay here again. The breakast was amazing served in the stunning dining room with limiless coffee. It was perfect for us in that it was about an hour's drive from Calais. Highly recomended.
Cons: Nothing could have been done better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place completely exceeded my expectations. The hosts were wonderfully warm, friendly and helpful. The kids loved running around the garden and found giant blackberries which they were delighted with. The house itself is exceptional with fine attention to detail. Breakfast was extraordinary - a range of pastries, bread, cold meats and cheese, served with tea, coffee, hot chocolate for the kids, as well as freshly prepare fruit smoothie served in a beautiful decanter. In practical terms this place is a great stopping point to/from Calais. Close enough to the motorway and close to Cambrai where there are lots of options to eat etc.

Pros: We were well looked after, with a lovely big, comfortable bed, and fresh breakfast.

Also communication was somewhat difficult as she spoke very little English but we managed. Beautiful, well-kept accommodation.

Cons: Nothing. Possibly a little difficult to initially find.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location near the canal. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: The mattress was a little too soft for our backs having driven a long distance.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hostess was very helpful despite my poor French. Also gave good directions to nearby restaurants etc. House was beautiful and ideally located beside the canal. Recommended.
Cons: Property not very obvious from the road. The number could be a little more distinct.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Catherine was extremely welcoming and friendly. The setting by the canal is lovely. It’s extremely quiet.
Cons: The bathroom facilities were not up to a North American standard. The fixtures were not very clean, and the personal hygiene products of others were all over the room. It was too public! Also the bedding contained a beetle - albeit dead - but disturbing nonetheless. The owners are smokers and you can smell it in public areas.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is great right next to the St Quentin Canal: perfect for walks or just looking at the barges going by. This is a good place/base for exploring what the Nord region has got to offer. Highly recommended.

Cons: All very good, however a bar or an area to gets drinks prior to dinner would be useful.

5.5 Okay
Pros: Nice and quiet grounds. Main house/chateau was pretty but we didn’t have a room in it. Restaurant was good.
Cons: Very dated building and rooms in need of maintenance. Sheets were low end and rough. We stayed in the Orangerie and it feels like it hasn’t been updated or fixed up since the 80s.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Lovely grounds and friendly staff. Quiet location (although there was a party taking place the night I stayed).
Cons: No tea & coffee making facilities - if you have a lot of Brits visiting this needs to be offered! No Air Con in the room, window didn't open.
7.0 Good
Pros: The grounds themselves are attractive and the chateaux is beautiful . Food in the restaurant was great.
Cons: The rooms in the orangery are rather disappointing, much better to book a room in the main building ( we upgraded on arrival). Immediate surroundings not so attractive - multiple blocks of flats.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The welcome was friendly and efficient as always and the dinner was excellent.
Cons: lack of flannels in bathroom
5.0 Okay
Pros: Dinner was disappointing, service poor Breakfast was spoilt by coffee with a horrible taste The bedroom was stately, the mattress very hard
7.5 Good
Pros: We like the great natural surrounds. Beautiful, serendipities and great for calm walks. The chateau is a lovely building. The room we had is very spacious and great old charm.
Cons: The room needs a bit of an update, although this is tricky as modernising it might take away fro the its old style charm.
