10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the whole experience of staying at Le Grand Hotel. The welcome by the owner was warm and friendly and the breakfast was fantastic. Great central location. We would return without question.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room tastefully decorated. Lovely breakfast with super coffee. Really made to feel welcome.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Petit dejeuner was good, suitable location for what I wanted. Friendly staff, and overall comfortable.
Cons: The shower was small, and was awkward to use. With a curtain that clung and reduced the space.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a very pleasant hotel in a lovely town with friendly staff and a good breakfast. This was our fourth stay there and we expect to go back. There isn't a lift for those who need it but the staircase is lovely.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location in town. Ideal for hiking and restaurants.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This was our 2nd visit. Nice big corner room with windows on 2 sides to get a good airflow. A novel shower in a tower ( ask for room 17). Staff were lovely - offering to carry our bags upstairs. Good selection at breakfast which was regularly replenished. Private parking on site is definitely a bonus. Great location for the town centre.
Cons: Still no lift
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel staff was very nice. Hotel is easily reachable by car and has enough parking places. Compared to the room the bathroom was relatively big. Also, there was a nice garden, although we had no time to inspect it and only saw it through the window. Location was superb, very calm with only decent noise from a river not far from the hotel
Cons: Absence of a lift was a small minus; the lady on reception offered herself to carry our luggage, which I personally found inacceptable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here before. Though this time we were on the 5th floor. No lift. We are both late in years but we managed. The exercise did us good. The receptionist for was very nice. Parking on site.
Cons: Nothing
7.7 Good
Pros: The lovely large comfortable bed, the warm welcome and the helpful staff.
5.0 Okay
Pros: pleasant staff, good location for walking or skiing. the rooms are fairly basic but comfortable.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Very central.Room on !st floor corner was small but fine.Breakfast was not very varied, basically lots of breads but nicely served and freshly prepared.
Cons: Corridor areas make it feel like a hostel. There was no bar area in the hotel and the downstairs lounge area was very big and in my opinion uninviting. I was very glad to be on the !st floor as there is no lift!
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice building, lobby, parking available, very central location
Cons: breakfast only very basic (but for the price...)
5.0 Okay
Pros: The situation is good. It is a typical old fashion hotel that has been partially redone, they didn't redo the outside yet which makes the first look a mistrusting surprise. We had a "new" room to the garden, which made it quiet and cool, the installations are minimalistic however everything worked. It was clean.
6.4 Good
Pros: We situated hotel in a friendly town. The suites are best value.
Cons:
6.4 Good
Pros: Clean and comfortable. Helpful staff. On site parking. Central location
Cons: Hairdryer did not work.
6.0 Good
Pros: the environment, the staff and the originality of the hotel
Cons: It would be nice if you could dine at the hotel (currently only breakfast)
7.2 Good
Pros: The owners were very helpful. Very good bed and breakfast with lots of restaurents nearby.
Cons:
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Le Grand Hotel is a great place to stay with loads of character and right in the centre of Mont Dore which is charming and very near the mountains. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and very accommodating. Would definitely like to stay there again!
Cons:
Hôtel de Londres - Le Mont-Dore - Building

9.0 Excellent (212 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel. The owners are lovely and really careful about their guests. Rooms are clean. Excellent breakfast with loads of homemade stuff. I really recommend that place if you happen to stay in the area.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are clean, location is excellent, staff is very friendly, breakfast is great.
Cons: Street parking in front of the hotel is not free and you have to be lucky to get a spot. There's free parking at walking distance though, so except for unloading it's no problem.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: helpful owners recommended restaurants
Cons: Could have been slightly larger bathroom
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very friendly staff,
Cons: my only comment would be not to bother with the breakfast, although they made fresh jams and orange juice it was just bread and crossaints so not my thing
6.3 Good
Pros: The central location
Cons: A bit expensive for what it was.
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean, comfortable room, good bedding with plump pillows and proper cotton duvet cover. Pretty view over the garden and mountains. Good blackout curtains
Cons: First impressions are bad, with harsh neon-lit reception with an iron shutter down over the breakfast area and a tinny radio on loud. Also bad cooking smell even though there's no restaurant - but that was gone the next day thankfully. First impressions are wrong, though, as this is not a bad hotel

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly welcome and a lovely clean room
Cons: There was nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location for great price
Cons: Parking capacity. Just a few stands available, which is quite normal for the hotel location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is really friendly and helpful. The hotel location is perfect to discover the region. We had a family bedroom. The room is spacious and comfortable. Super clean. And the top of the top is the food. Real homemade Auvergnate. We will come back!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very well located in the strict center of the town. It's a 2** so we didn't expect luxuries, but the hotel exceeded our expectations. Our room was spacious, clean, and warm. The breakfast was not expensive and very good (one of the best pain au chocolat and croissants we have ever had!). Every day you can also book a delicious dinner at the small hotel restaurant. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel!
9.5 Excellent

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, right next to the ski lifts. Great rooms, clean. Lovely view from rooms. Very friendly staff. We choose the breakfast & dinner option, at €25 per person this was great value for money. Dinner was 3 courses, very tasty, traditional French cuisine. Continental breakfast.
Cons: Would have liked tea & coffee making facilities in the room. But not a deal breaker.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great if not exceptional hosting experience. Damn those hosts are nice and profound. The best part is the dinner and getting in touch with your hosts. they can really tell the difference between an "ok" trek and a "beautiful" trekking experience! Ask them, they will answer :D
Cons: Nothing especially comes to notice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: great views, great staff and food
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A great location if you wanted to be out of the crowds of Mont Dore and a perfect outlook onto the mountains from the terrace behind. Would be fantastic in ski season, right by the lifts. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Pet friendly and only charged 4 euros per dog which is reasonable.
Cons: The room was a bit small and basic, but it did the job. Looked a bit tired, like it had been refurbished in the 70s and not updated. However it was a nice relaxed atmosphere. Note the restaurant is closed on Sunday nights - but went down the road to a rustic auberge.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was great, staff were very helpful.
Cons: They didn't clean our room after one night. Breakfast was poor value. Mezzanine beds were very uncomfortable.
Hotel Du Parc - Le Mont-Dore - Building
6
8.7 Excellent (115 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Du Parc in Mont-Dore, you'll be just steps from Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park and Thermes du Mont-Dore.
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel was adequate for what we needed. It didn’t have much atmosphere but was fine for a short stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Arrived in middle of heavy snowfalls - staff spoke next to no English but most obliging and helpful - gave us early access to the room which was perfect and town location most central
Cons: Couldn't fault how we were treated and will come back
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is great, the staff were friendly and the room price was good. Our room was a good size and the shower was great except for it was a walk in one so the water flooded the floor!
Cons: A lot of the hotel still needs updating, it also smells in the reception area. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good beds warm rooms
Cons: They took money before we arrived and it clearly says on your web site that you pay when you get there
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Bath/shower really should have a handrail
5.5 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: Very uncomfortable bed / too soft, very hot temperature, poor sound isolation, very small bathroom
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is really close to the bus for the snow slopes and the restaurants
Cons: My only problem was closing the outside blinds- there were no instructions and when I tried, the box fell off the wall. I did inform reception but it was not repaired during my visit.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location close to the ski hire and ski bus stop. Clean room, appropriate facilities. Very friendly, helpful staff. Indoor pool appreciated after a day on the slopes. Fantastic breakfasts!! Huge choice from fresh fruit, meat and cheese, yogurts, breads, croissants, pastries, fans, eggs, toast, jams, pancakes, coffee. Everything a person could want and more!! Just sorry we had to leave a day earlier than planned.
Cons: Not much. The room was a little small but had everything that we needed. There was some noise from other guests but not that bothered me too much. I would probably have appreciated water in the room. Having said that, maybe the tap water was drinking water in which case a label would have been nice. We should be cutting down on throwaway plastics after all. :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and friendly helpful staff
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location, professional staff. Buffet evening meal extensive, good value and very tasty. Kitchen assistant/ cook, very attentive and cheerful. Parking seemed tight and close initially, but well thought out, liked the very secure locked aspect, although we were not worried if we had parked on street.
Cons: The public rooms were very warm, as was the bedroom for the time of year, with heating turned on low. For us this was to warm and unnecessary.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly helpful staff.
Cons: Noise from the road as had to have windows open, very hot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All that I expected was there. The room was as described. Parking inside is very convenient. Location is good although to be fair any hotel 5 blocks around would be a convenient location. Receptionist were very nice. Breakfast was not included but they had a buffet breakfast for around 11 euros. Pool was very clean and good for a quick swimming and relax after a long skiing day.
Cons: Not having the possibility of having some coffee in the room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel owners were really helpful and friendly. Great breakfast selection too. We were visiting for mountain biking and loved the variety of very well marked trails. We would definitely visit again.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Not much. Though there is a pleasant garden you can sit in- unfortunately the white wine wasn't chilled.
Cons: I booked this hotel because booking.com described it as fabulous. Unfortunately this was not our experience at all. We had an attic room which was small and very Spartan. There was a shower spray on the bath tap and a shower curtain but no hook on the wall so showering was very awkward. We were told that all the rooms had only baths - so why provide a shower curtain? The bed sagged in the middle- didn't get much sleep. The hotel has a sign outside saying hotel and restaurant. When we enquired about eating in the restaurant in the evening we were told it was specifically for a group staying in the hotel -on both evenings. So why does it describe itself as a restaurant? Wouldn't recommend this place at all.
6.8 Good
Pros: The owner made us very welcome and was more than happy to help. The toilet seat was broken when we entered the room but it was fixed straight away. Great location for a stop off.
Cons: The bathrooms were dated and need modifying. I did know before we went about the sound proofing but it’s true, lots of banging and key turning. No tea or coffee facilities in the room, would have been nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very kind staff.
Cons: Parking is closed during night hours.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful, clean space with fantastic views. Secure parking was great. The use of the hot tub for a small fee was an added bonus after exploring the picturesque area. The kitchenette was nicely equipped and modern.
Cons: The pillows were a bit flat and lumpy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful mountains view from windows, quiet surroundings, comfy mat,
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great central location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and a good size, it had almost everything needed for a nice relaxing stay. The hotel is situated in a great place and the view out of the window was amazing. You can also use the pool in the neighbouring hotel which is owned by the samme company.
Cons: There was bit of noise from the room next door and it would have been nice to have a kettle to make some tea, but there was a coffee machine so OK.

8.1 Excellent (591 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Logis Hôtel de Russie in Mont-Dore, you'll be just steps from Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park and Thermes du Mont-Dore.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beds, location, cleanliness.
Cons: People could see into the room from the street
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean and comfortable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed.
Cons: When using the shower the bathroom got a little wet as the shower screen did not stop the water.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is great and the chalet-like style was very cozy and invited us to relax for what was a very cold and snowy 1st week of May. The restaurant offered a great choice of local dishes and French wines, made simply but with great taste.
Cons: We didn’t pack any shampoo, and there was none in the bathroom. We just bought some from the shops 2 minutes away. Not a dealbreaker anyway...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was very comfortable and the restaurant was very good
Cons: The cost of private secure parking
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice decor. Great bathroom. Great location
Cons: Very cosy. No close parking
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very adequate and value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The TV in our room was huge! The restaurant served really good meat and the breakfast was very good for a 2-3 Star hotel.
Cons: The bed was too small for my husband, who is 6ft1, but that's normal in France. Whether 2 Star or 5 Star. The bathroom was new, but flooded every time we showered and the wall grip for the shower was far too low. Not well thought out! Although the room was spotless and clean, we had mould in the corner of one wall. On touch it was dry, so we didn't complain and it didn't smell, but it was unsightly nonetheless. Room 307, in case you wonder.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good location in the middle of the village, close to all facilities and shop
Cons: Roller shutter was broken so we've been wake up by the daylight early on the morning, not very pleasant. We mentioned it to the reception, we get 5 euros off (87 instead of 92) . Not very impress with the discount...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We didn't take breakfast as we thought it was a bit expensive per person and we only wanted a coffee and a pain au raisin. Location of the hotel was good and close to restaurants and shops and parking.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and size of the room was excellent. The view from the deck was spectacular. Would love to come back in the winter. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would recommend.
Cons: Having no jug to make a cup of tea in the room.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were very welcoming and helpful when one of us became ill with food poisoning . The views from the room were wonderful
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were great
Cons: Out of season stay, so very quiet
4.5 Okay
Pros: Only bit that was ok was was when we left the man on reception was pleasant.
Cons: When we arrived all lights throughout hotel were turned off and we were in complete darkness. Had to use torch on my phone to even see the stairs!! Had told hotel what time we would be arriving but when we arrived noone was there and our room key was left in an envelope on reception, which we could only see with our torch on!!! Opened the door to our room to dirty carpets, white stain on bed runner, mould in the bathroom and not anyway to het privacy as there was no curtain or blind on the window. Room was so bad we decided we did not even want to try breakfast. Strong damp odour to the room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived late after a long day so check in was quick efficient and we went straight to our room. The view was amazing and we thought the room was really well appointed although we had booked a premium double so we had hoped it would be better than a standard. Beds comfortable and the shower was great.
Cons: The room was so hot. I know it was the hottest day of the year but no aircon and it felt like the shutters had been open all day. Thank goodness we had a fan with us but even so it was really stuffy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was superb. Modern, warm and roomy
Cons: Top grade rooms, awful microwaved cheap food. Uneatable, raw half cooked even after being sent back.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A fine but somewhat ordinary winter sports hotel just outside the town of Mont-Dore. The views from the large balcony were amazing (just make sure to ask for a room with balcony). The hotel restaurant was very good. The cable car to the summit of Puy de Sancy is within walking distance. Free parking in front of the hotel.
Cons: The restaurant terrace was not quite as appealing as the presentation photos suggest, but this is a minor problem if your room has a balcony.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Location close to ski lifts and great views from front rooms.
Cons: Very disappointed as had looked forward to our stay for a while. Standard rated room unclean, decor poor + damage and mould in bathroom. Not fit for occupation. Not interested in our complaint offering a different room at considerable extra cost.
7.5 Good
Pros: View of the mountains ski slopes if you can afford the best rooms with terrace. Close to Mont Dore town.
Cons: Room, lobby and dining room could stand some freshening. Shower within tall bathtub not accessible by seniors.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were really lovely friendly people and couldn't do enough for you. Good facilities for storing ski equipment. Clean comfortable beds. Breakfast was great.
Cons: Private bathroom in the family room was a toilet in one bedroom and the shower in the other bedroom. The decor in the hallway was tired.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, very nice staff !!
4.5 Okay
Pros: Not much, apart from the fact that it was reasonably well located
Cons: The room was only just big enough for the bed with clear glass double doors, so the only way to have privacy was to draw the curtains. The booking confirmation advised that reception opened at 17.00 but at 17.30 nobody was there. I knew there was a rear entrance which was open as I had stayed there two weeks earlier, so I waited in reception. I phoned the two contact numbers and left messages but did not get a reply. At 18.30 I took the key to the same room that I had the previous time I stayed and left a note in reception. There was no soap in the bathroom so I was unable to shower. When I can back from eating out the receptionist met me and claimed to have sent me a message, but I didn’t receive it. The breakfast that was included was OK but there were no croissants.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast service, location and parking
Cons: Banging top door of stairway
4.3 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The rooms were very small and cold
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was as described, the manager was very helpful and friendly I recommend this gite, it is very practical and very well located close to the Mont Dore town center
5.0 Okay
Cons: very basic. not worth the money
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fantastic
Cons: No power socket in the bedroom
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location and friendly staff.
Cons: Room was tiny, bed not made up, no soap, tea/coffee facilities in room. Was like a hostel room and very expensive for what we got.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Great location, great staff.

Pros: It was in a good spot for town and clean. The breakfast looked great although we didn’t have time. Very nice for 2 star rating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked the room on the third floor which is exactly as advertised, up stairs and small but clean. The manager explained that we could be upgraded as he had the space so after our first night we moved to a bigger room on a lower floor which was also clean. The manager was very kind and helpful during our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and owner
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great value for money, very clean, simple accommodation. Would thoroughly recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ideally placed for skiing in Le Mont-Dore especially with free parking right outside the hotel and two minute walk to shuttle bus to slopes.
Cons: Nothing.
6.8 Good
Pros: The hostel is in the center and the navette to the station is near by.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The curtains should be thicker. They don’t cut out the light and there was no mechanism to pull down the outside shutter.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Actually I was a bit disappointed with Le Mont-Dore - I think I stayed in La Bourboulle last time in Auvergne, and it is a lot more interesting and stylish. The Bardon-Perry is rather basic but good value.
Cons: 2 long-ish flights of stairs to our room (could have been three) and no lift. Breakfast basic, we chose the top option, E 9.75. The proprietor refused a refund for the last day when my partner was ill and had no breakfast - a bit mean.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Good location, simple no-frills but spacious double room (no 5) with comfortable bed.
Cons: The one member of staff supposed to be on duty when we arrived at 22h20 failed to respond despite us ringing reception bell 10 times or more. My mobile phone did not connect to the hotel number, so eventually i managed to persuade a waiter at a nearby restaurant who kindly called from their landline. He took ages to pick up, so he had probably fallen asleep! Or even forgot that our booking existed! Thanks to him we were kept waiting for one hour, by which time everywhere in town had stopped serving hot meals. The same man was on duty next morning. He could see that we were upset and dissatisfied, but he couldn't care less. Asked about cooked breakfast but couldn't be bothered.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast good value for money, room very comfortable, 24 hr access, free parking right on the doorstep and ideal location for Mont Doré skiing.
Cons: Nothing.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice budget hotel well run plenty going on, entertainment team fantastic.
Cons: They didn't Salt/Grit the car park.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location.
Cons: Our 1 bed accommodation was so small that it made me feel claustrophobic,
5.8 Okay
Pros: The property is located in an ideal place - opposite a park, within a fairly quick and pleasant walk (15 minutes) of the village itself, and just off the main road out towards the mountains. There's a decent pool, the bar is okay, if a bit lively at night, and the chalets / apartments themselves seem well maintained. The staff are pleasant and efficient, although clearly reciting from memory, and the check-in/out process painless. The kitchen has everything you'd expect - including a dishwasher - and the bathroom is nicely equipped, if not the most modern. Beds are comfortable, the linen reasonable quality, and all in all it's good value for money.
Cons: The double bed in the main living room leaves no space whatsoever to move around. If you're sleeping on the opposite side, I recommend not even trying, as you will bump yourself on the corner of the table, knock your shins on the bed itself, or have to bend in odd ways. Just roll out the other side, it's easier. This also means that eating in the living room / kitchen is impossible for a family of 4: what we eventually realised is that you have to fold the bed up... and ours had not been cleaned underneath. At least not to our satisfaction. The issue is that not everyone has to pay for cleaning. You can do it yourself: but then, how does a property tackle the issue of quality control? In the case of the Prade Haute, as witnessed at checkout, they don't do more than a perfunctory look around. Also, be a bit careful about things like charges for pets. Although the amount isn't specified in the description, it varies, so check ahead -- we paid something like an additional 10-15% of the cost of the apartment, added at checkout without informing us in advance, for our small dog. A final note: the TV control has to be rented, also. It's little things like this that you wish you'd known beforehand, and all add to the initially compelling price.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location Staff Pool Sauna Room
Cons: Lack of food options for vegetarian( not just hotel but whole town)
5.0 Okay
Pros: Not much!I booked this hotel because we were traveling by motorbike and the weather was horrid. The hotel had a pool, sauna, and a la carte restaurant, so we could eat in the hotel in the evening and not have to walk into town for dinner. OR SO I THOUGHT!
Cons: The restaurant was closed both nights we stayed. The pool was unheated, green and slimmey, accessed down a spiral staircase, with a leak in the roof that let the rain in so they were wet and slippery the Sauna couldn't be used without prior notice, and the room did not live up to the glamorous online pictures!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly personnel. Spacious and clean rooms and bathrooms. Very good situated near the village. Splendid view over Mont Dore.
Cons: The temperature of the room was much to high, as in the bathroom. Difficult to make it a little less warm. We did not find any ecological measures. It should be very good if this hotel tried to have the Eco-label.
6.3 Good
Pros: Food was very good and the staff very helpful and friendly
Cons: The ski bus stop is not outside the hotel - quite a walk; the sauna was very small - only one person could lie down; the steam room could only seat 2 persons, the room wasn't very warm and the pillows were uncomfortable - I would not consider this hotel a 4 star
