We were made very welcome by the owners and were most impressed with the decor and quality of the fixtures and fittings. It really was one of the loveliest hotels we have stayed in all around the world (and that includes 5* hotels in Asia). I loved everything but perhaps if there is one thing I think it would be that children should only have to pay half price for the breakfast.
Beautiful, characterful old building in heart of charming town. Friendly, no-fuss welcome from helpful owner. Excellent stopover en route to south of France.
We thought that this hotel and the town of soulliac in general were beautiful, we will be going back again. thought the market was fantastic as well. no
The location was excellent and the hotel was well appointed and charming. The staff were very helpful and looked after us faultlessly. We would recommend the hotel to our friends.
Excellent location, friendly staff, rooms exactly as shown on web site.
Charming hotel runs by lovly owner, and having breakfast is recommended.
Excellent place for exploring Dordogne in the heart of Souillac. Nice people, quiet place. Facilities are old fashion and not comfortable.
We were made very welcome and enjoyed out stay. Could do with some redocoration, to freshen up the decor.
We found the hotel staff to be very friendly and welcoming. They were happy to answer any questions we had about the area and stop and talk to us about our day.The room was very clean and tidy. The hotel was in a good position in Souillac town close to all amenities and exploring the Dordogne. Our room had air conditioning which was essential during the heat we experienced.
Central location. Friendly, helpful staff. Room on small size but adequate.
The hotel reception staff couldn't have been more helpfull The hotel room we were allocated was very old and had damp patches in the corner of the rooms there was only one small window and all of the walls and ceiling were covered in a green flowerey wallpaper making it very dark and dingy, the bathroom was clean but with a green suite, blue tiles and a red and yelow/ blue floor - we were on the 3rd floor.
The hotel is situated on an excellent location. The staff is helpful and friendly, the rooms are comfortable and clean.
Quiet. The lock...
Incredible service from the owner,Fabienne when we had serious rental car problems. She took over and handled everything for us. Her little hotel was lovely, but she is the star. We have never had better service anywhere we have travelled. Her hotel is near Sarlet - which is as beautiful and historic as France can be.
Very friendly hostess, beautiful old house, private parking, and big nice bernese mountain dog Yubar.
Rooms basic but clean and tidy. Has a swimming pool which is great. Charming lady owner. Have used twice now and will do so again next year.
Very helpful and friendly owner offered whatever help we needed. Good pool. Close to town for restaurant, Comfortable accommodation. Excellent croissants.Local info available in reception. Traffic noise from adjacent roundabout. Breakfast just lacked cheeses/meats..
Friendly reception. English spoken well. Close parking Room was a little tired looking
I liked the location of this Hotel, the garages to park our motorcycles in and the swimming pool to cool down in. It is easy to find and the reception we received was perfect. Fabienne could not do enough for us, breakfast was very good by French standards, and it is an easy walk into the town for an evening. I will definitely stay here again as there is more I wish to see in this area.
Friendliness and hospitality of the owner, private pool.
We can thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for somewhere to use as a base to explore the region. The hotelier Fabienne speaks excellent English, and you can be sure of having a very friendly welcome and comfortable stay.
Well managed and very clean. We had an excellent view.
the curtains let the sunshine in and at 7am it was daylight in the room. Check-out a bit early.
It was very accommodating and the proprietor was welcoming and informative. It was handy for the station and a train trip to Cahors.
Very nice room and fantastic food. Extremelly quiet at night. Very nice gardens and swimming pool.
A fantastic hotel, beautifully decorated rooms, excellent service, stunning surroundings and food to die for...albeit abit pricey.
Food is exceptional and ambience is terrific. The location is ideal for a 'getaway'. This family run business is very welcoming. You pay for the quality. This is not a criticism but guests should be aware.
Very pretty location. Not very welcoming.
Beautiful hotel lovely location restaurant excellent expensive but worth the extra
After reading about the hotel in Australia we decided to spend a night there ane have a degustation dinner. Ttel was very clean excellent service and room that was beautiful and well maintained. We had the menu the "Belcastel" menu and asked the somnellier to select our wine. The meal was by far the best selection of foods and tastes we have experienced in France. The wine compted the food perfectly. All i all the experience at the hotel was superb.
the evening meal at the restaurant
Friendly staff Ancient French shower
The staff was kind and did a good work to make the stay as nice as posible. The food was a little to much "gourmet".
Evening meal very good, and we had a very helpful and attentive evening waitor Drop outs hanging about the weir/bridge area, and would not liked to have ventured out at night, noisy from creaking stairs, noisy from the street traffic
wifi does not work in every rooms. wifi does not work in every rooms
We were able to see a number of the caves in the area from this location. This hotel is a pub/hotel in a small town. It also has a nice small outdoor pool. We were in a room with a balcony on the second floor that was completely unsafe for small children. The railing is not designed for children. A child could easily fall through it to a cement deck 3 stories below.
Bed was comfortable. Good location. No one spoke English.
The manager is very helpfull, giving us lots of tips for the rest of the trip. The bathroom in the room is terrible. We have only some squared cm to take a bath, without a place to put the shower.
We found it suited our needs as a stopping point en route perfectly and would use again
A fine stopping off place; it was very cheap and we had great value for money, swimming in their clean pleasant pool and we slept well in the room. We were running a bit late for checkin but the staff were able to take our phone call, speak to us in English and then were ok to wait for us. Also got a full pint of beer from the bar instead of a silly tiny beer. A good little place to stay; we've paid a lot more for places a lot worse, here you'll definitely get your moneys worth and more.
Nothing in fact, it was a whole disaster, loss of time and money. Pool not working (hot temperature), Only one person speaks english, no people to attend you, always busy all around! Someone from a party in the town used a knife so he made us lost 2 tires, and the same for every car parked in the street that night!, the hotel did nothing to help us. We got help (thanks God) from other customers of the hostel.
A wonderful chef owner, his food was excellent together with a warm family atmasphere
