Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff Rooms were a little small and basic eg nowhere to put your suitcase
Clean an comfy Toilet very small but not a problem
Good restauant, pleasant and helpful staff Room fairly small
lack of places to eat when you arrive after 6pm is a big negative lack of places to eat when you arrive after 6pm is a big negative
Staff were very hospitable, helpful and friendly, making for a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere in the hotel.
Loved Jonzac. Staff very good and friendly, and forgiving to our toddlers breaking a glass and clambering on the outdoor sofas.
Easy access to town and facilities.
The restaurant was very good
due to circumstances we are unable to make any good comments, facilities were limited,i.e. restaurant closed to guests on sunday evening although the service was open to guests who were taking " a cure ",parking was closed at 8.30pm so we were unable to drive to find a restaurant, access to hotel was closed on sunday between 2.30pm until 6.00pm
The character of the former mill with surrounding garden convenient location to explore Cognac area. Too much noise during the night from passing traffic and from early hours from the staff quarters above iur room.Wines were expensive for not particularly good quality.
Restaurant, however, was excellent, you wouldn't think it could be the same business. The room and general condition of the hotel was extremely poor, decor was well beyond repair - shower room had three different layers of wallpaper all falling off. You wouldn't think you could open the doors to the public
The hotel was a much better standard than I had anticipated and the food was fantastic. If I travel to the region again I will definitely stay at this hotel.
Warm welcome, beautiful room, excellent service, superb food - all round a wonderful hotel. n/a
It has been beautifully renovated, and is in a great location opposite the Castle in Jonzac. The two rooms we had on the first floor at the front were excellent, with views straight out over the castle and the pretty high street. The rooms were comfortable and the showers/bathrooms very smart. A true boutique hotel. Unfortunately, we did stay on a Sunday night, and the Coq D'or's restaurant is shut both Sunday and Monday, so we didn't benefit from the good food which I know you can have there, as we have been for dinner and lunches last year! Also we missed the conviviality of the tables outside on the terrace. So it was rather quiet, with no staff available in the evening. Breakfast was served in the morning, but it was only us four, and the front doors were shut. But it was end the end of the season, and we were glad to stay in such a special hotel.
The room was nice but there was nothing else available to comment on, no bar, no restaurant. Arrived 3.30pm on a Sunday to be told the bar closed at 4pm and the restaurant was shut on Sunday and Monday nights. The only place we could find to eat in the town was a fast food joint. If we had known this we would never have made the booking. The photos on their website are obviously taken during a local festival and do not reflect a normal day. Deeply disappointing as I had seen this marked as´superb´´.
The location was excellent, room fine with view of castle The hotel was closed on arrival and the restaurant closed for the day Monday. We had no notification.Tourist Info. office were brilliant and sorted it out
