9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was a very cute place in beautiful surroundings. The owners were lovely. And the breakfast was very nice indeed. It was so clean, they obviously take great pride in their work. We had a family room which had a separate bedroom for my daughter which was great. And some games that we enjoyed too. If we are ever down that way again we will definitely stay again.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The host were very pleasant and the garden was very nice. Breakfast was amazing and varied.
Cons: tea and coffee was not replenished or milk.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hosts who made us very welcome, it felt like staying with friends. Attractive surroundings & garden, comfortable and very spacious room. Fantastic breakfasts, with a daily home-made speciality by Michelle. Loved the crepes! Nearby restaurant Le Cheval Blanc is also a great find with superb food at reasonable prices & a warm welcome.
Cons: Our room was very clean on arrival. However, we were expecting a daily tidy & clean of the room: e.g. make the bed, quick clean of bathroom basin & shower & clear away used tea cups & glasses. We are clean & tidy people, and kept our room in a tidy state. However, we were disappointed not have a basic daily clean, and would expect this for the 90 euros daily rate. Sorry to say this, but it was a downside in an otherwise great service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find. We had a warm and helpful welcome. We followed the dinner recommendation. Room was very quiet, despite facing a road. Breakfast was delicious. Fresh fruit salad. Home made yoghurt and jams
Cons: Nothing to complain about

Pros: Historical place, nice host, clean, great atmosphere
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked all of our stay: the beautiful and charmant room, the garden, the location, the breakfast.
Cons: Nothing, all Was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is super welcoming, friendly and flexible. We arrived a bit too early, and she quickly returned from the village to meet us and show us around. In our room, I found the mattress too hard, so I immediately got a chance to change rooms (if you prefer a not-totally-hard mattress, ask for the pink room!) The property is absolutely charming with lots of photo ops, and the owner used to be a stylist, so each room and bathroom are very individually and inventively styled and decorated. Amazing ideas - lots of inspiration to take home. At breakfast, the owner will also ask you how you like your egg and will personally prepare it for you.
Cons: As mentioned above, the hard-as-concrete mattress in the 'green room' - although that's the one that as a lovely 'family room' has a really cool 'upstairs' for the kids (I included a photo). If you prefer a 'not-totally-hard' mattress, ask for the 'pink room' ;) When it's really hot in the summer, the green room will also probably be the most comfortable one to stay in; when it's not so warm outside, that one is more cold and damp, as the humidity really creeps up through the old stone walls. For cooler weather, the pink room might be the more pleasant one, as it is in a more airy annex. So: Choose both according to mattress and according to outside temperature! ;)
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Evety thing !!!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is old and filled with "character". The buildings date back to the 16th and 17th centuries and can be a little drafty. Agnes - the proprietess - comprises the entire "staff" and was extremely friendly and helpful (and speaks English). The grounds to the facility are very eclectic and whimsical. It is located just a couple of miles from Monet's Gardena and the town of Vernon. Also within a 30 mile radius are multiple other historical and fascinating sites which Agnes can recommend.
Cons: Finding the property and getting into it can be tricky. It takes a sharp turn into a narrow driveway to get in. Once in, though, it's worth it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host was charming and accommodating. Treated us like family. Went out of her way to make us comfortable.

5.8 Okay
Cons: I checked in late because of some mistakes which I didn’t want to and didn’t do it on purpose. I said sorry and explained but I could feel they were not happy and told me if I didn’t check in in 15 minutes they will close the door at PM 10:00. If it really happened, as a foreign traveler, that means we will not have the hotel staying at that night. We have the bad feeling about it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast, plenty of choice, fresh fruit, etc.
Cons: Our bed was very hard, couldn’t sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice greeting
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Dormont is a small town in rural Normandy and we were very fortunate to happen upon Le Clos when searching for something near Giverney. The buildings have been beautifully restored and the interiors tastefully distinctive. The hospitality was unexpectedly warm and generous and there was a communal atmosphere amongst the guests.
Cons: Nothing to not like

Pros: The owner was superb,Sophie was very friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable about the area and very happy to help, The property is set in landscaped grounds, close to the river with a brilliant new swimming pool and surrounds, and a barn converted into a bar/recreation area and a lounge in the main house which guests can use, Very friendly dogs and doves geese and chickens on the farm Good breakfast with plenty of choice and bean to cup coffee. Excellent standard of accommodation. Really recommended. Good restaurant - straightforward cooking with fresh ingredients and welcoming staff, on the river bank within walking distance by the canoes/kayak hire place.
Cons: Our bedroom was a bit dark. Check in from 5 pm was rather late
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old farm with large gardens, surrounded by nature. Fully renovated in a rustic/modern style and nice swimming pool. You can spend all the weekend just wondering around the areas belonging to the farm. The owners are very nice and helpful. We recommend!
Cons: We would appreciate some eggs and more variety of dishes for breakfast. But all the products proposed we had were local and tasty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious. Lots of interesting antiques and objects used to decorate the buildings. Huge gardens and very friendly and helpful owners. In the countryside by a nice river. Dogs, ducks, geese and donkeys in the fields and we saw a family of wild boars crossing the road near by.

Pros: Hotel in the beautiful setting deep in the countryside, our host Sophie is the nicest person you will ever meet. Only 10 km from Monet Gardens!
Cons: Nothing really
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazingly warm welcome, great decoration and atmosphere !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and pool - lovely room and wonderful breakfast. Staff were so friendly and helpful - Sophie even got up early as we needed an early breakfast to leave for our long drive!
Cons: It was lovely but were sad no restaurant in walking distance - 2 in village only open lunchtime!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was quite exceptionally great. A wonderful selection of home prepared foods, confiture, home made bread and locally produced apple drinks. Really, quite the best that we have experienced.
Cons: It was a top experience. The pool was really enjoyable, the ability to sit out on the patio beside the grenier, local scenic walks, what was not to like? It is an extensive property and the ability to roam around at will was greatly appreciated. Our hostess (proprietor) went out of her way to be hospitable and informative about the area. She shared her home as though we were honoured guests; we really treasured the experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sophie and Francoise have excelled in the presentation of their property. The dinner was of restaurant quality and the breakfast was superb. Sophie was very informative of the region and on her recommendation we visited Monet’s Garden. Something which we will never forget. They are very friendly and warm and we would love to stay here again on our next trip to Authouillet.Thank you Sophie and Francoise.
Cons: Television didn’t work. However, this didn’t really matter. Minor “glitch”.

8.8 Excellent (238 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Château de la Madeleine in Pressagny-lʼOrgeuilleux, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Claude Monet's Garden at Giverny and Musee de Vernon.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: On our arrival the estate was VERY impressive on well kept grounds. Inside the owners seemed to have really tried to decorate as true to home's history as possible. Our hosts were very nice and even went above and beyond to help us make dinner reservations. Our room was large and quite comfortable. Breakfast was VERY good with warm breads, yogurts, meats, and other French breakfast delights. I would say that the chateau is a work-in-progress for the owners and their young family. I should like to come back in 10 years to see what it has become! If you like a bit of rustic living, this would be a place for you. A great location if you are staying in the area wanting to see Monet's gardens....close but a nice enough distance away from the hordes if tourists.
Cons: Beds could be spruced up with new linens and the curtain over our bed was very dusty.
7.5 Good
Pros: Bed was excellent and the bathroom also very good. Very nice breakfast. Very authentic French chateau experience
Cons: Restricted view from bedroom window but there was a private outside terrace to make up for it. Possibly slightly too expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing and made to order. The owners were so nice and accommodating.
Cons: Everything was nice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The chateau was beautiful both in its extensive wooded country setting and stately interior furnished with lovely antiques and adorned with delightful artistic flourishes. We felt as though we were at home in this gorgeous lace.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Grounds were large and magnificent looking. The Chateau is still being renovated but it is still impressive and welcoming. The host Paul was very accommodating and went out of his way to be helpful in finding a restaurant to have dinner. There is a very impressive walk through the woods and down by the river Seine. Great place just to relax.
Cons: Our suite for one night did not match the magnificent photos on the website. In time, Paul will have upgraded all rooms to match the photos. Wifi was erratic and went offline in the evening.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's a treat to stay in such a grand house, which is so well cared for, and beautifully adapted to guests. The dining room and lounge room are just magnificent; upstairs, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom facilities work well. It's lovely to see gorgeous murals and antique furnishings and ambience in bucketloads. Breakfast was beautiful fresh fruit, lovely croissants, fresh yoghurt, and the view over the 11 hectares of the property. How often do you get to stay in a place where there is a shrine to a 12th century saint? Paul is a very kind host.
Cons: Nothing to dislike, it was all just beautiful. Though if you prefer tv in your room to gorgeous antiques, this is not your kind of place.
4.2 Okay
Pros: When we arrived to the property we were positively surprised by the beauty od the castle and the view at the Seine river. The owners were hospitable, so our first impression was good.
Cons: The problems started in the morning when we found BED BUGS on our bed sheets. And i have to mention that usually its extremely hard to see a bed bug during the day in the infected area even for an expert. We were terrified because we were totally aware of the danger of bringing bed bugs home in the suitcases and of the fact that its extremely difficult to get rid of them. So after breakfast we told the owner about the problem. He said that its not possible because he sprayed our ,deluxe' apartament 3 months ago. So we showed him a bed bug measuring more than 1 cm and full of blood strolling on a bed. He had to admit that it is a bed bug. We started to search for bed bugs in our suitcases to make sure they are clean. And the owner gave us breakfast for free and said that he will close the apartment. We were still definitely not in a good mood but we thought that we are lucky because we had just a few bites and luckily it was just a one night on our way to holidays. A few days after at a camping we discovered we have plenty of swollen and itchy bites everywhere, it was even difficult to sleep. It turned out it is the allergic reaciton to the bites we got during that one night. Our holidays are destroyed because od that one night. And we also found out that the apartment we slept in is not closed but SOLD on booking. And that means that another family will be bitten and will leave the castle unaware of that. So we are WARNING everybody! The owner is totally aware of the BED BUGS PROBLEM and he does nothing about it- he lets people sleep in a room full of bed bugs! We are really sad that we have to write this opinion because the owner family was lovely and welcoming but its is necessary. Stay away from this place!

Pros: Very good

The rooms were just amazing, wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy them more. Breakfast just lovely too. Had a walk to the river in the morning. Look out for the underground tunnel! Very beautiful chateau. Lovely owners. Thank you for a lovely stay.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful country cottage amongst the trees. Breakfast was brought on a tray every morning by our hostess. Croissants, fresh baguettes, jams and marmalade with coffee and tea. Perfect. Weather was a bit unreliable so we spent more time in the cottage than in the picturesque garden. Good sized bedrooms and bathrooms.
Cons: Very minor. We have a large car. Getting through the entrance gate was a little awkward until we discovered that the best way was to pass the first, actual, entrance and turn round in the one 100 yards further up the hill. Then it was much easier.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was comfort at it's best.
Cons: Nothing whatsoever.

Pros: Me and my wife stayed two nights in Maison in Normandie in early July. The location of this place is just perfect for example if one wishes to visit Giverny. Once we arrived, Isabel was welcoming us, showed our room and introduced the details. Everything is clean and fresh. The rooms (including the breakfast room) have been decorated with good taste. Over the welcoming drinks we were delighted to learn among the other things that there is a nice restaurant at the bank of river Seine, less than 5 minutes’ walk from Maison in Normandie. We had two very enjoyable dinners there and it seemed to be very popular place among the locals - always a good sign in France and everywhere else. Breakfast was very good and healthy, all fresh and homemade. We also had a change of enjoying some Portuguese specialties which we highly appreciated. In the final day, we enjoyed the possibility of late check out that Isabel herself suggested for us. What a perfect and relaxing way of ending our holiday in France. Isabel is a fantastic, energetic, helpful and genuinely friendly lady. We really enjoyed our stay and very strongly recommend this place for the future quests.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place! Isabel the host is very warm and hostpitable. The beds are high comfort, and the breakfast local products and french specialties. Very nice pool and a plus with a baker across the street and restaurant by the River Seine few minutes walk away.

Pros: The location overlooking the Seine is quite breathtaking -the view from our room - absolutely magic-delightful early evening stroll alongside the river offered the perfect unwind after a long journey- the restaurant with food cooked over an open fire is characterful, busy and has atmosphere-
Cons: The decor is a little tired both in public areas and room, the spare quilt in the cupboard had a dirty stain & the service in the restaurant was poor -drinks requested never arrived, & and service felt rushed & was anything but "smiley"- which was disappointing as the location of this hotel deserves so much more.

Pros: we liked the setting and location of the facility. The staff was pleasant. A restaurant on hotel grounds was available which made it more comfortable.

6.3 Good
Pros: The staff was friendly. Breakfast was nice, but you have to pay extra for that.
Cons: We got a family room, which we think a combination of 2 rooms, so it was definitely big in size. The styling of the room itself looks old and the little bench has so many stains. The toilet and the bathroom are separated back to back.

7.9 Good
Pros: Very quiet location, off the beaten track. Lovely to walk along the footpath after breakfast, watching the long aggregate boats pass through the locks. Tranquil.
Cons: Breakfast was a touch pricey for what was offered...but we came away full. Great coffee! Bed was rather firm and creaked when we moved!
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: WLAN too slow- not possible to use. Breakfirst very simple. Room not very clean. Stuff speaks French only.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A fairly basic hotel but good value. Welcoming. Good with a dog as we could walk straight out to the garden and on to the tow path. Nice quiet location. Interesting to walk alongside the locks and watch the boats. Very good meal in the restaurant with the river view. Good breakfasts. Beds comfortable. Good base for exploring.
Cons: A few things in the bathroom were not working too well e.g. shower head didn't stay up, things rolled off the shelf. Although the rooms had everything we needed and were very spacious because the floors were vinyl it was a bit echoey and cold and we could hear footsteps above. Approach to the hotel was very industrial but it was situated far enough away.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, lovely and quiet, and fantastic being right on the river with the locks. Lovely friendly staff. The room was basic but clean, neat and tidy. No complaints at all.
