7.5 Good
Pros: Nicely done room.
Cons: Didn't had a click with owners that would make the stay comfortable.
7.9 Good
Pros: We were warmly greeted upon our arrival, offered coffee or tea and shown to our room, which was beautiful. The coffee was not to our liking as we like strong Italian-style espresso, but it is hard to get that anywhere in the entire region, so it's nothing unexpected. If you like French or American-style coffee, you'll be fine. The decor in the room is absolutely stunning. There is a nice bed on a higher level in the room and we were glad to remember it when we would get up to use the bathroom at night. The distance to La Bresse-Hohneck is also pretty convenient at only about 15 minutes or so. The bed was comfortable and the room had plenty of storage space and room to move. Both the room and the bathroom were spacious and lovely. While the water-pressure was low and it took a while for the water to get hot, once it did, it was hot enough. The lack of TV enabled us to disconnect a bit, so we didn't mind that at all. The room was well heated and was lovely. When we arrived we were grateful that it hadn't snowed in over a week because the property is at the top of a very steep hill. Even without ice nor snow, we had a tough time getting to the top as the tires got stuck once in the loose gravel.
Cons: While our initial welcome was warm, that night and the next day was not as welcoming. First, we were suddenly told to leave our shoes in the entryway and we were given old slippers to wear instead. Mine had 2 left feet. The next morning, I went back in to get my husband's helmet, and the woman shushed me as if I were a child. A grown woman paying to stay at an establishment should never be shushed for mere footsteps, especially when they were nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, when we returned from skiing, we went to take a nap before dinner and had to sleep accompanied to the cacophony of shrieks, screams and yells of multiple children running up and down the hall and jumping down the stairs for hours. She did not shush them, though. We had requested a quiet room, but were placed next to a room with loud screaming children. In fact, our room stated that it had a private entrance, but that was not true. There was supposed to be access to an "Executive Lounge", but that is nothing more than the entry room of the property. WiFi did not work in our room, nor throughout the property. It would connect but immediately disconnect each and every time. The property does not take credit cards. There are buskers in London taking credit cards but not this establishment. It's 2019! How are there still people in business who don't take credit cards? There is one ATM in Gerardmer...good luck finding it. If you're only going to accept cash, please get the change right. It was very strange to get a breakfast charge added in, when we hadn't had any breakfast. There's only one table, she would have seen us for sure. Then when it was pointed out, the change given back was still for the wrong total, so we had to point it out yet again. If you don't mind loud children, a woman shushing you, a steep hill, or paying in cash, then the place is lovely and there would be no other reason why you shouldn't stay there.

Pros: Very friendly hosts. The jam was superb.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Isabelle and Phillipe are wonderful hosts. They run their mountain top home with warmth and good cheer. The house is modern, clean, has loads of hot water and, to cap it all, Isabelle is a terrific cook. This peaceful hideaway has stunning views of the mountains and valleys, we were treated to dramatically swirling mists as the woods steamed dry after a bit of rain. This was my second stay at Au Dom. de Py, I sincerely hope it will not be my last. Thank -you both for your kindnesses and, Isabelle, Anna got the rhubarb, but missed the strawberries!!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Au Domaine de Py and it's charming chatelaine, Isabella, is truly a delight in every way. Her welcome is warm and her pride in her lovely home is infectious. Perched high on the mountainside, way above Gerardmer, the Villa has breathtaking views and, in October, enjoys absolute silence at night. Silence, that is, up to the moment the rutting stags give voice to their yearnings; the good thing is that they don't keep at it all night! Some rooms have a balcony, all have a bath/shower room and a view and are decorated and fitted in a way that reminds you that you are up a mountain (lots of wood panelling, wood floors and ceilings, that sort of thing) while offering all the comforts one enjoys on holiday as well as lots of hot water in beautifully fitted shower-rooms.. We dined-in our fist night, a delightful, real Alsatian mountain meal ( Feuillete of munster cheese and sausage, proper sauerkraut, etc.) cooked to perfection by Isabella. Latterly, we dined at the Auberge de Lorraine in the village of Le Valtin, highly recommended. Breakfast is another triumph of mountain style cooking and presentation. Isabella provides a varied choice of fresh cooked breads, pastries, yoghurt (home-made), fruit, jams (home-made to secret recipes!), cheese and hams. It came as a bit of a shock to us townies just how dark the night sky is when there is no light pollution, and just how brilliant the stars are. Go there and be cosseted by the delightful, house-proud Isabella.

Pros: This hotel is really nicely located in a beautiful valley, with easy access to the highest mountain range of the Vosges. Ideal for hiking and cycling. Decoration is very nice, rooms and beds very comfortable and food equally very good. I truly recommend!
7.5 Good
Pros: Super cost and spacious rooms, great restaurant.
Cons: WiFi not very strong in the room
6.3 Good
Pros: We have stayed in a bubble tent. It was a very interesting experience. Good sky view with plenty of stars from the bed, like in a planetarium.
Cons: On the day we stayed was very hot day (up to 36 C degree). It was too hot to stay or even get into the room until early evening, and whatever we do, we ended up sweating a lot. We know it is not a problem directly linked to this property, but unfortunately this experience made us less enjoyable than otherwise it could have been.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really comfy bed. Excellent evening meal. Great breakfast. Lovely location.

Cons: Our room, Roche et Bois have no place to put on our luggage even if it is more than 30sqmt. The staff is not friendly with foreigners.
