Visited Ceske Krumlov, Hluboka castle and rafted down Vltava rive
Facilities and staff excellent. Magnificent location. Food in Restaurant and Bier Stube excellent. The best restauranrt was outstanding food at budget prices.. Breakfasts are a weakness. Plenty of choice but quality not the best. Cold plates and frequently cold and congealed food. Staff service at breakfast did not match the other restaurants' service. Garaging a bit expensive.
Very clean and proper room, friendly staff.
Excellent location, decor & service, attention to details Nothing
Cleanliness and comfort of beds 1- Staff poor service (not friendly nor welcoming at the reception) unlike staff on breakfast who were friendly and welcoming. 2- The site gave us a price of 13 euro per day for hotel park and the hotel gave us a price of 15 euro per day. 3- poor breakfast.
Garage on site and good Beer (Pilsner Urquell) on tap Food poor and decor could be more up to date
Location Rating should be 3 star and not 4 stara as its package tour orientated. Decor is terrible. Bathrooms although recently renovated its impossible to have a decent shower without water going all over the floor due to shower head location.
The Grand Hotel Zvom is a very classy hotel located on the square in Ceske Budejovice. The square is perhaps one of the main shopping areas of the city and contains lots of nice shops and a couple of restaurants. The hotel room was very nice, including a tub in the bathroom. Beds and pillows were comfortable as well. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was included in the rate we paid, and it was good. We chose the hotel because some of the reviews indicated its close proximity to the train station. I guess it depends on how one defines “close.” It was between ½ to ¾ of a mile, so one might give some consideration to that. There appeared to be one or two taxis at the train station that could be useful. Associated with the hotel are one or two restaurants, including one that features another local beer, not Budvar which Ceske Budejovice is famous for. Naturally, we tried both of them. If one is a beer lover, one will not be disappointed by either of the beers featured. Nothing
Location Beds too hard and narrow. Smoking permitted in the restaurant.
Nice renovated room, quiet, breakfast ok Parking facilities, too expensive, only 1 lift, there was a group of tourist and I waited the lift 15 minutes...
The service was excellent, the hotel superb - well beyond expectations and among the best we have seen. Rooms are big and immaculate, with all you need and more. If there are rooms at the Residence, i recommend you stay!
Modern apartment with excellent facilities including washing machine. Clean and comfortable. Located in city centre. Excellent breakfast served in cafe below, good value for 300 Kr. Staff most helpful and speak some english. Overall highly recommended and excellent value for money.

Quite difficult to find parking close the Hotel
The room was very clean and comfortable, we stayed in one of their self contained apartments. regretted not staying another night. The staff was friendly and helped us with our luggage. The breakfast the next morning was also very good, Definitely recommend to others nothing
Brilliant apartment - brand new and in great location in the city centre. It was actually nicer than in the pictures. The staff didn't speak a word English or German, what made it hard to communicate with them. They were nice though.
no functioning internet
Location of the hotel is very nice. The enterier of the hotel room is expecially luxury and harmonize to the ancestral castle.
wonderful place near Hluboka Castle, friendly restaurant staff photos better than reality
Location of the hotel is very nice it was perfect and wonderful. The room was beautiful, large and clean (2 basins!).The enterier of the hotel room are luxury and harmonize to the ancestral castle. The breakfast was very good. Wonderful
Beautiful place, it almost looked as it was a part of the castle. Very friendly staff. I loved the saloon with the fire place, leather armchairs and pool. Very cosy. The room was very nice with great view of the Vltava river. Booked double room but we had to single beds next to each other.
Quiet, beautiful hotel and surroundings
Beautiful hotel, nice room, polite and very helpfull staff Antique bathroom situated at the castle entrance without curtains and no shower curtains too. Had to hold shower and did not have the possibility to hang it somewhere on the wall.
not a 4 star hotel
Pleasant, comfortable room with full bathtub and city view. Wifi was advertised but not available.
the courtesy of the staff
Great breakfast, fantastic localization, nice staff speaks English very well, huge parking lot, nice bar in a lobby and a restaurant with normal prices no place to hang a towel in bathroom, too small tv, no AC
Excellent value for money. Airconditioned rooms and we had escellent views as well. Slow elevatros (stayed at 14th floor).
Only 10 min walk to main square, reasonable level of facilities, aircon lacking in rooms (see below) during hot weather. Breakfast spread was pretty good. No aircon though staff opened the windows at our request, a fan would still have been useful. Front desk person who dealt with our check out would have been perfect kgb (or Czech equiv) interrogator. Despite these issues was still pleasant stay even in hot weather
Nice rooms, good value. It's not quite 4 star hotel... But on the other hand it doesn't have a 4 star price. It looks like it was 4 stars in the 90'S.
Good value for money, nice room, attentive staff both at receiption and at breakfast.
Despite my bad impression of the small rooms, i was able to sleep very well and the view to the city was just beautiful. I would have appreciated if i could have opened my window, and the included breakfast was not what i would expect, they need a bit more variety on the tables.
Hotel was very central and the staff were very helpful, we had booked for one night, but stayed for two after. Breakfast was very good N/A
Friendly staff, relaxing spa experience, and in a located right underneath the castle. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.
Location - just few minutes from castle. Breakfast was disaster. We came at 10:15 and there was nothing - no clean table, no plates, no food. We were not alone that time so after claim they started to clean and serve again. Explanation - new waiter.
Location hotel, was in citycentre and near very nice Castle. Recpetion had good communication skills, German and Englisch. Due to renovation of the restaurant we had our breakfast in the hotel next door. They had a conference, so was a bit messy. But therefor the hotel had a good price during our stay.
Nice clean rooms, very quiet. The restaurant staff was a bit slow...
Close to the city center. Huge beds in a spacious room. Quite a new building. Soup at breakfast.
Very nice location. There is also a nice swimming pool ( outdoor and Indoor) very clsoe by There was no availability of beds for children only cots
the hotel is very nice and well equiped with everything. breakfast is good, dont need any much improvement. the restaurant is very very good and not expensive at all. the fire alarm went off at 6.30 in the morning, and than they discover it was a system malfunction.
Perfect facilities, very good location with nice river view. Newly decorated old time style building. The breakfast was quite poor.
The setting. The service was adequate but little sense of enjoyment. Most staff didn't seem happy in their work. Breakfast was not good enough. Staff were slow to replenish many items eg hot water and hot food.
Great Location and breakfast. Very nice quiet room.
The personel, the spa services and the location... in the middle of the main square, close to the bus station.
helpfulness of all staff; central hotel within easy walking of all parts of Trebon; closeness of very interesting tourist venues (e.g. Cesky Krumlov). No - the hotel was good with staff who spoke good English.
Great location on the town square. Restaurant food excellent and fairly priced. Breakfast quite adequate. Limited english speaking desk staff. Will not accept travelers checks for exchange for Florints. However, there is an ATM nearby for cash advance. Elevator has weight limitation. Would not accept two persons with luggage as over weight.
Great central town location, decent sized rooms, efficient if not luxurious hotel, staff friendly if not always attentive.
Hotel room was clean and comfortable. I didn't like the town. Staff was rather cold.
Trebon is a picturesque small town in Southern Bohemia; a very rural area. The hotel ambiance reflects this; it was modest, but perfectly clean & comfortable, with friendly staff. The surrounding countryside, like much of the Czech Republic, is very scenic; an interesting area to visit.
Good loocation, and very good price - I book a suite for 60 EURO Breakfast could be better
very nice hotel large room, free wifi, few steps from town square.good looking restaurant-sorry that i didn't have time to try lunch or dinner.
nice atomasphere.staff was nice. location is very good.
Very good location. The beer restaurant served Budweiser beer and good deal.
Size and quality of the room.
Wonderful rooms, very big and well heated.Friendly staff and a fantastic location just off the main square. The rooms and the breakfast.
The hotel is perfectly located just off the main square in the centre and has large rooms for the cost with full bathrooms (rather than just a shower). Unfortunately although they remembered I reserved a room they didn't remember I had also reserved a parking space in their garage and so only suggested on-street parking some distance away which I could not pre-pay for and therefore had to get up early & move my car - Not happy!! In addition their restaurant was closed all weekend for a private booking (not mentioned during reservation) and their cellar bar was fully booked all night so I had to find an alternative at 8pm on a Friday night - the choices were limited!! Reccomendation is that you telephone ahead if planning on eating at the hotel and also make sure they've reserved your parking space. Alternatively come by bicycle and bring your own food.
good for staying overnight before or after a visit to Cesky Krumlov, and for the original budweiser in the beer hall. not much else in the town. parking is behind the hotel on the other side of the road. if you miss it, it's a long long way to go to find a place to turn back because of all the one-ways.
Nice rooms and warm staffs. Very helpful
great staff, I am very grateful for her help for all the information i need
the receptionist was nice and helpful. the room was huge. was well worth the money the water temperature in the shower was interesting but not very controllable.
Excellent location, free WI-fi. Badly decorated, old and damaged furniture in rooms, breakfast so, so... Extremely noisy on the street right below the window ...
The hotel is just round the corner from the main square of the city, great position! I liked the restaurant and friendly staff. I ordered single room and got twin room with a crack in the wall. Jus a small one :)
The location of this hgotel is brilliant - close to train and bus terminals and right in the city centre. Breakfasts were very enjoyable. The receptionists on the desk spoke fluent English and offered several suggestions for dinner.
Our room was small, with broken toilet seat in the bathroom Requested an other room, larger with two windows. There was a night stand with a lamp with a burned out light bulb on one side of a large bed. only. The room was lit by one 25 watts light bulb in the 3 light chandelier. We went to the reception , they gave us 3 light bulbs we had to replace ourselves. There was construction work done on the first floor, it caused a strong gas smell . The restaurant was closed .The person at the reception desk was too busy playing chess with some friends to pay much attention to the guests.
They made a mistake with our reservation and booked for us another room in a better hotel, very near to Penzion Restaurant Centrum. They were very kind
- close to city center - friendly staff - good value for money - parking space far from the hotel, on public street, security? - small elevator
quietness and cleanliness No service/facilities,even a kettle or drinking water is not available
Matress was excellant. Nice location, price and parking garage was very spacious. Didn't particular care for the hotel pillows. Breakfast should have included some fruits. Be nice to have a CNN as a TV channel.
Air conditioning would be nice. temp was over 30 degrees.
Underground parking in town center NOT a 4**** hotel. This is more a 2**, maximally a 3*** hotel. Unexperimented and unprofessional personnel. Noisy rooms, people could be heard from corridor and nearby rooms. Poor breakfast. Located in a shopping mall. No restaurant. Breakfast managed by an external company. Overall, NOT the experience you would expect from a four stars hotel.
The hotel is located in the city center
Underground parking. The hotel is not located on the main square as pictures and the description suggests, but on a back street in seventies not descriptive building that warrents an upgrade of the interior. Fire exits were blocked. Breakfast in the shopping mall downstairs. Not very comfortable.
Excellent centre for visiting the town and other places. Very good breakfast. Large room with comfortable bed and seating area, large bathroom with bath and shower Difficulty with getting from hotel to bus station. Taxi service not offered and if there are local buses staff need to have the information. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room would have been appreciated. We only realised on the last day that there was a free coffee machine in reception - it was not pointed out on arrival
Good central location
Nice location, at the main square. A step far from every interesting place in the city and every facilities place (like shops, exchange office, pubs, ...) Part of the staff doesn't know well English, but it hasn't been a big problem
Excellent location in the middle of an old market square. Helpful staff, one of the best continental breakfasts we've had. Spacious, modern, comfortable and what's the most important - truly clean rooms.
The room had a mini-bar with five items. The reception stafff were able to change the room to get away from the humming [substation?] noise coming from next door.... Breakfast was provided in the public area of the co-joined arcade. This arcade was closed in the early evening, meaning a long "round the houses" walk to the hotel entrance when arriving. The exit [smoke/ fire?]doors from each [bedroom] floor to the lift/staircase were wedged open with carefully crafted wooden blocks.
Beautiful location, friendly staff, very good, familiar atmosphere. The room was simple, but spacious and comfortable, food was good. Highly recommended.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very quiet and peaceful setting and clean room. Near (go across the backyard) to hiking trail so you can have a nice leasure walk. Hotel's restaurant open all day. Breakfast buffet well garnished. Food at the hotel's restaurant is uneven in quality atnight. Either very good or very poor.
The people running the hotel were very welcoming and instantly put guests at ease. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and must commend everyone for making our stay very enjoyable.
Clean and friendly hard to find the hotel
The staff is very nice and helpful. The chef is a genious
Business took me to the small town of Kaplice. The pension was a nice, quiet, out of the way place to stay and actually relax. The hotel had a very good breakfast. Although dinner was available, we chose to go to the nearby town which afforded several choices of "restaurace's". We had a pleasant meal with few interruptions. Although the internet WIFI worked quiet well in the dining area, it had limited range and didn't reach all rooms.
Friendly staff with excellent english, able to recommend things to do in the local area. Unseasonably cold weather meant that the rooms were slightly chilly.
Great host, lovely rooms, fantastic food, good deal. Friendliest people we met anywhere in Czech Republic, except that owners are Dutch ex-pats. A bit hard to find
It´s a nice building in a beautiful countryside. Rooms are clean, well equipped, spacious and quiet. Owners/employes are ok. However, some minor (but important) aspects we didn´t like. A copy of our ID card was taken (which is a bit odd - given the fact, that credit card details were provided through booking.com and we arrived in a car with foreign diplomatic registration). Location of the room No. 1 is awful (on the ground floor between the sliding door, reception and entrance to the restaurant - we didn´t even see the interior of the building - which might well be the best asset of this hotel. A bit disappointing, given the fact the hotel didn´t look overbooked...A three percent fee is added to credit card payments (I didn´t mind the money but I think this aspect is embarassing both to clients and owners)... Please, take this more as a friendly advice to owners
