7.5 Good
Pros: Loved the bedroom , and public areas
Cons: the restaurant ,was not ideal for a romantic weekend would be nice to have a sectioned off area for people who stay at the hotel, with tablecloths and lower mood lighting
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff were fine. Patio area was pleasant. Room was clean.
Cons: Room not up to expectation based on the misleading website. And expensive given the standard of accommodation. The breakfast was average (over cooked eggs) and there was little choice.
7.0 Good
Pros: Gorgeous location, staff very friendly and comfortable rooms / beds
Cons: Unfortunately as I booked in a rush I didn't see the information about my room being over the function room! There was a function on with very very loud music which didn't finish until way after 12, by the time all noise had died down or was almost 1am. I had to be up early so didn't get much sleep. I wouldn't recommend those rooms unless you're actually attending a function. Also breakfast not available until 8:30. The alternative continental, delivered the night before so no fresh milk and yoghurt and juice warm by the morning, wasn't worth the 10.95!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and facilities. Good breakfast. Appreciated the late check-in, as we arrived late in the evening.
Cons: We had a real problem with the bed - it was far too soft and neither of us had a good night's sleep, which was especially important for us as we had had a very long day.

Hen cloud cottage - Leek - Bedroom
7
8.4 Excellent (195 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Leek, Hen Cloud Cottage is within a 15-minute drive of Foxlowe Arts Centre and Rudyard Lake. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s beautifully located and wonderfully peaceful.
Cons: Having a shared washroom which only had a very picturesque bath but no shower to be quick. It’s the only thing tho.
6.3 Good
Pros: The view from our bedroom was pretty and the Victorian bath was deep and long!
Cons: There were a few things - I didn’t feel welcome on arrival - it wasn’t clear where to go, we were told rather bruskly that they had texted us instructions but we were now on a UK number so didn’t get it. Would have been better service to not scold us on arrival. There are signs everywhere telling you what to do and where you can’t go - again, not welcoming. My towel smelt like wet dog, my pillow was lumpy and there was no guest soaps. There was one bath mat and one shared hand towel in the bathroom- not hygienic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Was like our own private apartment the owner lovely really quiet area
Cons: Everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great for value and walking all the sites. The breakfast is amazing and the people who run it are awesome . Win win
Cons: Could be a shower if staying in the cheaper room but to be honest the bath was super cool
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The cottage is in a beautiful setting. We were given a warm and friendly welcome. Our room was clean and comfortable with a good, compact ensuite. Breakfast was delicious. Lorna communicated well with us, including sending us a text on the day of our arrival to help us find the cottage.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The view from our room was nice. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Unfortunately it was not possible to take a shower (only a tube available with one hot and one cold tap). The road to the cottage was a long gravel road in a poor condition, which really is a problem with a common rental car.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful location and amazing views. Our room was a large double room with small en-suite bahroom. Breakfast was nice and the owner welcoming and helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was amazing and the views stunning. Breakfast was great just needed a couple of sausages on the farmhouse breakfast. The bed was the comfiest bed I think I have ever slept in.
Cons: We arrived an hour early but didn't think this would be an issue as we thought we would take a walk but this seemed to be an inconvenience. From that point on we didn't find the hosts that friendly and made us a little uncomfortable. I don't beleive this was intentional. But did tar our visit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Home baked cake on arrival, bed very comfy, feather pillows and goose down duvet, very luxurious. Nice peaceful garden to sit in and watch the birds on the feeders. Lovely breakfast.
Cons: The bathroom door was very creeky and stuck which made quite a bit of noise in the night when using the bathroom. Just needs a little bit taken off then it'll be fine.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fab views for breakfast!
Padwick Farm - Leek - Bedroom
8
8.7 Excellent (35 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Leek, PADWICK FARM is a 3-minute drive from Foxlowe Arts Centre and 9 minutes from Rudyard Lake. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location is absolutely perfect for your entry to the Peaks - The Roaches is a stunning location, situated only 12 minutes away by car - genuinely made the whole trip.
Cons: Having showers and bathrooms that are shared means that planning bathroom times in the morning can be a bit of a challenge. Equally, paying £1 for a four minute shower seemed slightly excessive; 100% agree on making people think about water consumption, but showers get unnecessarily expensive for bigger groups. Perhaps a second shower room would justify the expense.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed the experience so much ,, very reasonable accommodation price for 2 adults and 5 children , an adventure before a day in Alton towers ,, kids want to go back to stay longer , they loved it ,
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Stunning views, fantastic location that’s quiet and relaxing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rustic and authentic feel was great! Camping but without the stress of having to buy or transport/put up a tent. Be open minded about the compost toilet (still clean). 2 camp fires and and 2 areas to sit in shelter with a log burner. 2min walk from a Spa shop and petrols station. 20min from Alton Towers
Cons: Nothing really. Remember to bring some cash/change. Need to exchange for old £1 coins for the electric/heating and shower. And some flip flops for the shower and you’re fine. Also remember some extra padding for bed (roll up mattress or inflatable bed)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely spot, great views, really handy for Leek
Cons: The chickens were a little persistent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We all loved it had a lil camp fire at night. Chickens would come over the experience was amazing this is perfect for families who like to camp all cultery was available put the outdoor stove on in the lil she'd kids loved it so did I so quiet and peaceful will be back again
Cons: N/a
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We slept in a barn ... the wee fire pit was awesome as 2 adults and 5 children was doing marshmallows over it ... brilliant
Cons: Blow up beds kept going down ... ( not a big issue thou )
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole place was just idyllic and very cosy, I had a great birthday here with my friends. Was really nice being able to sit round a campfire(just got some wood from petrol station down road at very little cost). The barn was surprisingly comfy, very clean and was useful having lots of plugs to make a cup of tea and charge our phones etc. It felt very private as there is only one other barn on site. A much better way to camp.
Cons: Nothing, it’s just essentially what you would expect from when you go camping but with a few extras. Can’t complain about anything.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I stayed there with my 4 children and we had a lovely time. Very enjoyable
4.3 Okay
Pros: Would not stay here with young children!!!! Facilties terrible. Alright if it’s a bunch of men on stag weekend in a farm!!!
Cons: The shower and toilet facilties terrible!!!!!
