Pros: We had a balcony facing the mill stream and leafy green trees along its banks. The restaurant served good quality food, including a generous breakfast with hot and cold dishes, fresh fruit, yogurt. Our room (103) was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was extra nice, with a jacuzzi. The hotel is well decorated along thr "mill" theme.

Cons: Nothing really.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Size of room, view, balcony, breakfast, the beautiful village
Cons: Parking is a bit remote. The hotel should inform visitors in advance! Some stairs leading to the room which means carrying suitcases up and down....

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfy marshmallow bed and pillows. Spa was lovely and the village is an absolute picture
Cons: The first room they gave us did not meet our expectations so we were moved without question I might add. There are limited places to eat but highly recommend the Byzantine restaurant

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful, facilities for lifts etc. Breakfast had a good choice. Evening meal good. Staff very friendly
Cons: Steps to rooms bit awkward not for people with walking difficulties. Car park far from reception.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely brilliant. The staff were so friendly and the facilities and options for where to relax great. Would recommend to everyone. Great spot for hiking and visiting other local attractions too with a car.
Cons: Only extra that would’ve been great was an AC but it was cool in the evenings so really not necessary to sleep well ☺️
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent all round, fab room, lovely decor, delightful town. Town has many attractions to view, plus numerous walks, and of course right up in The Troodos. Wine and food very good and represent excellent value for the quality
Cons: Room had shutters which mad it very dark, but above the door was a fire escape rather brightly lite. Probably it has to be there, in spite of the fact in the case of a fire there were three french windows you could escape from.
Maritsa Lodge - Kakopetria - Building
3
9.0 Excellent (476 reviews)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: As we were staying for a few days, Maria provided us with kettle, tea, coffee, plates and cutlery. (But there was limited space to prepare our daily tomato salad!)
Cons: I guess it would have been nicer to be in the main building rather than the annex and the room was perhaps a little small but all absolutely fine.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location in the Old town, not too far from the car park. Good breakfast, helpful host. Lots of terraces and balconies you can sit, cozy lobby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful 300 years old stone house in the old part of Kakopetria. Few minutes away from a center. Original, comfortable rooms reminding of old times (people were much shorter back then so mind your head :). Super nice and helpful host. Tasty breakfest that you can eat at the sunny terrace. Maritsa Lodge exceeded our expectations. There is nothing we can complain about.

6.7 Good
Pros: A new yet traditionally built boutique hotel in the middle of beautiful old Kakopetria. Rooms are modern and clean. Especially the lady who runs the day-to-day business in the hotel will be remembered by us: Arlene made our stay extraordinary by her friendliness and helpfulness.
7.7 Good
Pros: had fantastic view of mountains and it was great to hear the sound of the river. We were very surprised to find the luxurious bathroom was equipped with jacuzzi with colored lights and great sounding radio. The log fire was another terrific feature which one would not find in a hotel room, In my opinion this was the most perfect romantic getaway and can't wait to return,
Cons: Not being familiar with the area, it would have been nice to have recommendations for local restaurants.
Aristotelio Boutique Hotel - Pedhoulas - Building
4
9.0 Excellent (140 reviews)
4.2 Okay
Pros: Leaving. It is a lovely old building which has recently been done up. The lift made looking for the elusive staff slightly less annoying.
Cons: Everything was a shambles. Nobody was on reception and was hard to find anyone. The person running it was nice enough but obviously very stressed as she seemed to be the manager/reception/barperson. The other staff member, a young man, was lazy and spent more time on his phone than doing any work. The bar seemed to double as the office as there was paperwork and stuff over the tables, but it was hard to find anyone to serve us. The garden should have been lovely but it was unkempt and the patio had not been swept. Our main problem was that the air conditioning unit in our room was broken so we had a really bad night's sleep. Also, the bed was so close to the wall we had to move it to get in. The design of the shower meant I got covered in cold water when I turned it on. The bedside lights had no power supply. We were offered a change of room on the second day but this was smaller so we decided to check out instead. Somebody has spent a lot of money doing this place up but they have missed the mark. It is also tucked away in a tatty area a long way from anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent facility. Nice design
Cons: Nothing to note
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, nicely done rooms and a cute ambience.
Cons: The parking was a bit of a worry. There wasn't much of a view either.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location in the heart of the nature with perfect climate. It was an oasis during the August heatwave!! The family owning and running the hotel is very hospitable and friendly. The food was very tasty. The dinner we enjoyed was very good and at a reasonable price! The hotel combines perfectly the vintage, old-style with the feeling of freshness and cleanliness! The room was beautifully decorated and very clean!
Cons: When we tried to have a shower in the afternoon, there must have been a problem with the heating of the water. However, a few hours later that was fixed. Also, the wifi may not be working very well at all times. There could be a few more vegan/vegetarian options for breakfast.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room large clean, balcony. Food excellent. Service excellent
Cons: Parking limited.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner is extremely nice and helpful. The facilities of the house are good, the pool is great. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and with fully equipped kitchens. The village is very quiet but it organizes events for locals. I will return.
Cons: Not all the rooms are on the photos. We stayed in room 4 the first night and it was extremely tiny and right next to reception so a lot of noise from people sitting at the common area, walking, talking, dining. The second night we were in room 1 which was twice the size and very quiet, much better!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: At Themis House, you get treated as family. We were a group of 22 persons and booked out the entire hotel, including breakfast and lunch. Mrs Yanoulla was extremely accommodating to all our requests, and even spoiled us with Cypriot sweet treats and fresh lemonade throughout our stay. For dinners, the entire family pitched in to prepare our meals, and stayed for a good Cypriot tragoudi thereafter. We LOVED our stay at Themis House (for the third year in a row) and cannot wait to return again in 2020. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious, with the most magnificent views over the mountain that come to life especially during sunset.
Cons: There is absolutely nothing negative that can be said about Themis House.

Cons: It lacks a WiFi connection at the rooms. Also the pillows were very hard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome
5.0 Okay
Pros: The food was nice and the lady is really friendly. Health wise she just shouldn’t run a hotel.
Cons: The old lady running the place was quite ill and couldn’t walk well, which resulted in us helping her out cleaning our tables for example. She never asked us if we wanted anything (like food/drinks) when we sat down in the restaurant. It was a strange situation. We couldn’t have a cooked breakfast as we were the only guest staying there and it “wasn’t worth it”. I feel like every guest should be treated the same and it shouldn’t have mattered we were the only ones. Besides the lady, I didn’t find the beds/pillows comfortable and the decor is very outdated. The bath was not worth the extra money (and not cleaned after we used it) and I also didn’t realise it meant we didn’t have a shower. I don’t understand why this place is so highly rated. My only explanation is it once had different staff and they are still going on those old reviews. I would not choose it again and also won’t recommend it to others.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality of the owner Katerina and her son Michael was great.
Cons: Nothing

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The initial contact with the manager (owner?) once she arrived was fine, very friendly telling us about local attractions and history of the hotel which is an old British colonial building and very much past it’s best.
Cons: The room we were given was in very poor condition and I believe the worst in the hotel. Here's a tip - if you are given room 3 go and sleep in your car, you will be much more comfortable. The room was small, not particularly clean, with some floorboards that we were almost scared to step on. The bathroom was the size of a broom cupboard. Why we were given this room is beyond me when I found out the next day that there were much better rooms empty, I think when we checked in we were too tired to query it. Second big mistake - we elected to eat in the hotel dining room, I will not say more apart from that the food served was extremely ordinary.
7.9 Good
Pros: Family and staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is very good.
Cons: The hotel is a bit dated in its décor and comfort. Seems to be stuck in the fifties. The layout of the hotel is very difficult in that it is on three floors with steep spiral staircase to negotiate.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location. Very traditional simple accomodation with friendly staff to match. It felt a bit like I was travelling back in time! A time when life was simpler and less stressful. Excellent traditional food in the restaurant.
Cons: For the price it was good value and came up to expectations so no downsides.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: the hospitality of the stuff
Cons: equipment in the room is old and uncomfortable
7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast was satisfying and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The served as a free welcome drink. The room is clean, gets warm quickly and there is hot water.
Cons: Because of the rainy weather we had to stay inside and there are not a lot of things you can do. The facility is old in general. The toilet in our room was old (the one with a plastic toilet seat). There was a bad smell coming from the toilet when we got at the room, but the manager managed to solve the issue. He was also willing to change our room to a bigger one that was available if we wanted.
6.7 Good
Pros: Good location in the very central part of the village with balconies overlooking the river below, warm and dry rooms inside with plenty of space
Cons: The building itself could have been renovated both from inside and outside (facade overlooking the river), furniture and interior of the rooms and lobby are far outdated, thus the hotel looked slightly abandoned even despite its prime location, breakfast is mediocre
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel, spotless rooms with view of old Kakopetria and river down below. Great location, friendly stuff. Definitely worth the price
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very convenient hotel with more amenities that we expected at that price. The hotel is not new, but it has a homey feel, it's like stepping into a very clean, renovated 80s house. Huge bedroom and bathroom, comfortable balcony overlooking the river. Three nice beds, mirror and dressing table, another table, and yet another table and chairs on the gorgeous balcony. Multiple WiFi routers on each floor, so our internet was even better than at home! Friendly staff and CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. No musty smell. All in all very, very happy, and that includes two hard to please teenagers.
Cons: Would have loved some croissants and some real village bread for breakfast instead of the white sliced kind. There is also an on and off noise that is probably the elevator, but that will annoy only the more fussy sleepers like me. I always travel with earplugs, so that was not a problem. Roof garden has an exceptional view, but that was partially obscured by the lowered tents.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: View from the room was very nice, the room is clean and cozy. Hot water, water pressure, bathroom - everything OK. No insects or ants which seems to be a rare thing on Cyprus. The place itself is very quiet, we were probably the only guests in the hotel. The breakfast is very good, "cypriot size" portions won't leave you hungry. :)
Cons: The check in was a little bit slow - I had to call the guy to make him come and give us a key for the room.

Pros: Good for both
Cons: Dining area was dark
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location! Lovely views of the forest and right on troodos square, where it’s possible to enjoy hiking , cycling , horse riding among other activities. The hotel is clean , quite comfortable and staff was friendly and helpful. The spa looked nice, with a view on the mountains , we will try it next time!
Cons: There was no shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. The view was spectacular.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was nice, that‘s basically the only thing that was good. The staff was also friendly.
Cons: The hotel rooms were outdated, very old furniture. Even though we booked 1 large bed, we got 2 single beds that were extremely uncomfortable. Also the restaurant at the hotel was super disappointing - the only food (dips with bread) we didn‘t like in our entire stay in Cyprus. The spa was not open and not actually a spa u could go to without any appointments (all booked out and also very expensive compared to other locations). The bar didn‘t have coal for their shisha even though they advertised shisha. Very disappointing over all - didn‘t like our stay here.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Being a family run hotel, with family members working across the seniority ladder it has two advantages, the first being it definately feels homy and welcome which binds well with the cosy decor across the seasons and secondly clients needs are always met to the best of thir ability whenever something is requested. A variety of bith local and continental dishes at reasonable prices ensures you can comfortably enjoy 2 additional meals a day to the complimentary brekfast upon booking the room. Finally, for those into agroturism, they've gone a long way into partnering with a in-house spa, mountain bike centre offering uplift service and other nature expericeces. For your afternoon tea or evening cheese platter splurge be sure to visit the exquisist Cafe 1725 to the left of the main hotel building for an unforgetable experience.i recommend sitting inside by the huge window with panoramic mountain views paired witth possinly the best chocolate lava cake on the island.
Cons: During busy season parking may be an issue! However, they do offer free cutsomer exclusive parking on a first come first serve basis, which seldomly fills up completely.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfection! !!!!!!!!
10.0 Excellent

2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms were really dirtly
7.9 Good
Pros: Friendly staff in a great location.
Cons: Rooms are a little dated. Service is slow but friendliness of staff makes up for it.
6.7 Good
Pros: The breakfast was nice (especially the yoghurt and honey but also the halloumi and mint cake).
Cons: The room wasn't very clean. Some of the towels weren't that clean either. This was on my first day.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A pleasant change, compare with my past holly days (2017)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, surrounded by nature with a lot of trees and great views. The hotel is very clean with very friendly staff. Lots of public areas to sit and talk, inside and outside.
Cons: There was no minibar in the room despite the description saying there is. Also there was not enough shampoo and shower gel for two people for two nights. The hotel looks a bit out outdated (but it is kept in very good condition)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were great, location was very peaceful
Cons: Dinner - no room inside, so we had to sit outside, which was dark and cold. Staff did not come to take our order for almost 45 minutes, even though we went inside and asked to be served twice. Eventually they took our order, lost it, and took another 45 minutes to get us our food, which was ridiculous . They did apologize about this , and did not charge us for the 90 minutes late meals. Food, when it finally arrived , was delicious and portions were huge :)
5.8 Okay
Pros: The evening meal and breakfast were served in the main dining room and the food was excellent. The staff were very attentive and the whole experience was very pleasant. The room was good but would prefer one without a 3rd single bed as it meant the area out to the balcony was limited. Bed was very comfortable. We do like the setting and always feel relaxed after an overnight stay but will be more particular when requesting food and drink items.
Cons: We wanted to spend the afternoon relaxing by the swimming pool but the whole area looked as if it had been closed down some time previously (due to close on 2nd October). A few grotty sunloungers were available and that's about it. We had to collect a jug of milk from the cafeteria to use with the complementary coffee/tea provided in the room. Very disappointed that when we asked for liqueur coffees after the excellent evening meal that the bar had run out of Tia Maria so no other choice for me. My husband ordered an Irish coffee and when delivered it was murky and it looked as if they had used a foamy type cream rather than the coffee being black and proper cream floating on the top. For a 4 star hotel at the end of September it was rather a disappointment overall and pleased we were there for only the one night.
6.3 Good
Cons: There was a band during dinning and it was so loud you couldn’t even talk. So the food was rushed which we paid extra for and left as fast as we could. The live band then continued through the night till 23:50 which was so loud and my son was not able to sleep therefore we woke up very tired instead of rested
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful surrounding, wonderful fresh mountain air. It was very nice to be in the forest high in the mountains, to sit on the balcony and watch the view and the trees. Very nice and helpful staff. Nice lounge and bar. Excellent breakfast. Good wi fi. Location was good for us. No parking problem.
Cons: We could hear babies crying, people talking and running water in adjacent rooms. Noise insulation of the walls - lacks. Reception was very responsive and changed our room to one with no neighbors. There was a feeling that the building is gradually getting old.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The nice breakfast assortment and dinner menus, the spacious and clean rooms, nice amenities, forests around the hotel were really nice for hiking and walking.
Cons: The restaurant during dinner was chaotic and the staff didn't seem to handle the situation properly. On our last night in the hotel, we had to repeat our order 3 times, since the first time the waiter lost our order (along with many others), and we had to ask them several times to bring our drinks. At the end, we got our dinner and it was too cold and the battered crispy fish had become all soggy.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Our had obviously beeen recently renovated and was to a good standard. The rest of the hotel would probably benefit. The other facilities we used-bar&restaurant(for breakfast)were fine

5.4 Okay
Pros: Staff was very friendly and polite.
Cons: Very old furniture. There was some sort of noisy chimney/generator next to our balcony that produced a lot of smoke and we could not open windows because of that.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location is perfect, good base to explore the area and surrounding mountain resorts, good value for money. This is a budget hotel so don’t expect luxury. The manager and staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Our host gave us a generous and friendly welcome and he assisted us in our arrangements for touring the area.
Cons: Everything was fine.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location of the Hotel is excellent. The views from the balconies are beautiful and so is the breeze if you sit outside on a summer evening. Everything you need is within walking distance. The owner (Andreas) is very friendly and social with customers. Going back there feels almost like visiting a friend :) Also, the breakfast included is very generous making Ekali Hotel excellent value for money.
Cons: The bathrooms are uncomfortably small :(
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and able to visit places of interest in surrounding area. The staff were very helpful and breakfast and dinner were very good.
Cons: Car Parking around Hotel not very good and although we had requested and told we had a Parking space this had not been allocated as some other guests were inconsiderate. Also as we had a disabled badge there was no actual disabled parking space outside the Hotel. Also think rooms would benefit from mini-fridge
7.5 Good
Pros: Basic budget hotel used as a base to visit various sites around the Troodos area. The owners were very friendly and Mr. Andreas snr very informative. Our room on the 3rd floor (309) had two balconies and beautiful views over the village. If you are looking for Value For Money than the Ekali is the place. We have no complaints.
Cons: The shower is very small with plastic curtain which sticks to you. The breakfast would benefit with the addition of some fresh fruit. Not enough parking area around the hotel but that is not the hotels fault it seems to be a Kakopetria problem. Overall the hotel is in need of refurbishment and with a few changes it could be so much better. These are not complaints, just observations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good value for money, bed was nice and hard, had a good night sleep, although not a balcony as in pics, our view was obstructed by a big roof next door Buffet breakfast was very good for a 3 star hotel. Nice veranda to have your coffee but all the smokers ruined the atmosphere (my personal opinion as I’m not a smoker
Cons: Room very small, could be a bit claustrophobic, apart from that everything else was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and polite staff, clean rooms, great outlook!
Cons: Small parking place

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The jacuzzi and the fireplace were great!
Cons: There is a small hole on the wall and cold air gets in.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, rustic, traditional house in a great location, easy to get to. Lovely patio area to sit outside and for those renting upstairs apartment there's a balcony. Owners met us in the village to show us the way. It was a bit difficult arranging our arrival over the phone as we don't speak Greek, but it all worked out and they were very kind and gave us eggs from their own hens. Two churches in village (one UNESCO listed) are beautiful and easy to visit: we just called the number on the notice outside the church and the custodian came in about 10 minutes. You can walk there along the river.
Cons: Not much cooking equipment in the kitchen (no frying pan). Mattress rather hard. It was not clear from description on website what the layout would be - balcony or not? Etc.
7.1 Good
Pros: The hospitality was good and the house had most of what someone expects!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The traditional way
Cons: The spa bath was broken
7.5 Good
Pros: Charming , quaint , lovely area. Proper Cyprus!
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location was good and easy to find, nice nature and next to the river. You could literally hear the river flow. The lady in charge was very sweet and kind.
Cons: If you are average height (1.80) then jacuzzi is basically too small. I’m tall and could hardly fit and I just gave up. It’s better to book the normal room rather than the “deluxe”. The price for the deluxe is not value for money. In addition, the room was not getting warm although we had the fireplace & the air condition switched on. Very strange to be honest.
7.9 Good
Pros: The house is a pretty old traditional village house. Finally we had a room with a fireplace, which made our stay really nice. From the balcony there is a nice view and we had our breakfast there, enjoying the rain outside. It's super close to Kakopetria, which is a must to visit and there are surprisingly many restaurants and supermarkets in Galata as well.
Cons: The double bed was squeaking with every little move.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely spacious studio! The host was very helpful amd friendly!
4.2 Okay
Pros: It is 3 minutes driving from Kakopetria village
Cons: The jacuzzi was with cold water after a couple of minutes of working. Also we had to pay €80.00 per night without breakfast just to find out that we had to pay extra €5.00 per box of wood for the fireplace.
7.5 Good
Pros: The host, old lady, was very kind, she bring the bottle of wine and fruits from her garden

Pros: Great location and incredibly attentive staff member (Daud)
Cons: Given it's a 3 star hotel, the was no dinner service. Would have been great to eat once settled into the bar area in the evening. However, lovely restaurants conveniently located nearby.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an upgrade to a room with a mezzanine sleeping area, so plenty of space. View from balcony was amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi was fine in main body of hotel but weak at the end of the corridor where our room was. There was a good selection for breakfast although we thought the fruit juice was a bit bland. Parking was a bit tight in front of the hotel, secondary parking was available down the steep drive.

Pros: Nice room for this location.
Cons: Choice of offers at the lounge

Pros: Everything
7.5 Good
Pros: Very warm welcome, attentive staff. Clean and tidy, nice breakfast overlooking beautiful scenery! Good value for money
7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast was fine, with a good range of food choices, though would have been better with freshly-made tea and coffee, rather than from a machine. The setting, and the view from the terrace are superb.
Cons: More than one pillow per person should have been provided and the shower could be improved. More fruit options with breakfast would have been appreciated.
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely location near Caledonia Falls walk and 20 minutes walk to central Platres. Wifi not great but remote location so to be expected. Room basic but comfortable and clean.
Cons: Breakfast quite limited and ensuite very small with basic shower but everything works.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location in Platres, friendly staff and beautiful old building. Good location for exploring the Troodos area. Hotel is basic but picturesque and is a good base for a walking holiday. There are several walking routes direct from the hotel.
Cons: Uncomfortable bed and bathroom was very dated / not good shower. However, we understand the bathrooms are being refurbished.
