Hotel was fabulous and we absolutely loved it. The room was huge and beautifully decorated. The reception area looks like a film set. All good
Convenient for town centre Layout of bathroom wrong. Toilet squeezed between radiator and wash basin with large empty space elsewhere
Very good located, nice decorated and spacious room. We could park our motor gratis in a secured space. Good value for money. The breakfast should have a bit more variation.
It is a wonderfully eccentric old place and fun to stay at. It must be a nightmare to keep clean with all the "stuff" scattered about. (Get someone to dust under the beds more often!) Very pleasant helpful staff. I would like to stay on a Fri or Sat night to see if it livens up a bit. You do not stay here for the view from the bedroom!
Great location, close to restaurants and bars and in the historic part of Castres. V spacious room and bathroom. Quirky hotel! Whilst decor quirky it had seen better days. Room v dark but comfortable. Need to be aware that staff speak no english but with our limited skills we got by and friendliness compensated.
Room was fantastic. Hotel decor was very special. The hotel was very central. Amongst plenty of shops and restaurants.
beautiful hotel, very large room and beautiful bathroom. the hotel is situatet in the centre of Castres, but quiet.
everybody was very kind and helpful
Superb location for long relaxing weekend. Excellent blend of authentic but well run hotel with the right level of modern comforts. None
tranquility peaceful surroundings, excellent meals very comfortable accommodation and friendly staff no
A grand old house, beautiful park, good facilities, very comfortable, good food, and extremely helpful and friendly staff.
It is an extremely relaxing hotel to stay with many lovely areas, particularly the library. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee facilities within your room
Brilliant service, very very warm welcome, comfortable rooms, good amenities and facilities. Would recommend this to all but larger families / families with teenage children. Very refreshing experience!
We liked everything: the very kind, friendly and thoughtful staff, the delicious meal, the super comfy beds, spacious bedrooms, calmness and cleanliness of the place, beautiful surroundings, fantastic library with books, movies and music at out disposal. We loved sitting by the fireplace in the evenings roasting chestnuts we had picked up on the roadside (their staff provided us the needed tools and showed us how to roast the nuts). We intend to return for a longer stay because our children loved this place. Nothing.
Quiet Clean Nice furnitures space of room Forest and fields environment
Wonderful in every way. A warm welcome, excellent room, delicious food and stunning surroundings. We felt truly pampered. The location was well placed for a wide range of top places to visit. We hope to return. No
Service of the hotel
nice room, good value for money
Nothing, except that it was a place to sleep It is a cheap and nasty hotel, located in an industrial estate. It has no attractions for anyone other than a business traveller of a very tight budget. Its website and other promotional material gave no impression of how far it is from any amenities/attractions. Thoroughly disappointing experience, even at the value price.
Staff responsiveness No
facilities like TV channels, kettle, heating system. staff and price. position good for shopping position: by the main road.
comfortable and convenience of in hotel dining poor location and not aware that it was in an industrial estate outside Castres.Hotel restaurant closed Friday to Monday
A little difficult to find, they need a sign on both sides of the road.
The rooms were pretty and charming. I stayed at 3 star side and my sister in the 2 star wing. Not to much difference, 3 was bigger& high ceilings, but if budget is an issue, 2 star was a good value. We ate at the dinging room, a little $ but good food, lovely service. the village is so pretty great to wander down the little streets. This hotel worked for me because it was on my way to provence, fun to check out for a night or two. There were a couple of casual dining spots in village but be warned it is a pretty quiet little place. One pub seemed full of young kids20's. But not a lot else going on. Beautiful spot for walking the flower filled village, great photo ops!
Amazing building and setting. We had a 'Histoire' room which was a bit small.
compact clean and novel hotel in a very pleasant location Soreze was a very quiet town,
The situation within the town.
Fabilouse place to be, abbey transformedinto nice hotel in big landscaping Staff was very poor, not hotel minded, my reservation was not made upon arrival, lot of facilities were not possible due a wedding that was going on in the hotel.Room was ery hot, needed a standing fan.Becaue of the wedding wasnot ossible to make reservation in restaurant, next day it was closed, staff did not inform about and did not care!!!!!! Due festival in the village lot of noise until 12.30 at night. After that noise from the kitchen. Next da at 6.15 am I woke up from the garbage truck who was emptiing the garbageof the kitchen. Very disepointed since hotel has such potential to have a great stay.
we liked everything! it was perfect for me, my husband and 2 year old son! no it was great!
The evening Menu was excellent and price reasonable, All the staff were helpful especially as our French was poor.
The building was magnificent with a lot of historical charm. The staff were firendly and helpful. The restaurant was and choice of dishes was good fot the time of year. It was not easy to find the entrance.
We loved the Abbaye...basic clean rooms that are well priced. We stayed in the 3 star rooms which were a good size, but apparently the 2 star are very small (2 of our group stayed in one of these rooms). We were very fortunate to have a Medieval Festival being held in the Abbaye grounds while we were there, the children loved it...so did the adults!
Reception staff were most accomodating. Rooms were spacous and modern. Comfortable beds and good food at dinner time. Breakfast was only adequate. We had to wait for provisions to be re stocked and there was insufficient attention paid to coffee replenishment.
Good location, good option for anyone that is seeking a nice hotel to sleep during a business trip.
Staff were very helpful, location great.
Great location; great value; helpful staff.
The uniqueness of the hotel - very interesting!! A hotel bar was advertised and looked a lovely venue but there was no member of staff available to open it on request. 'Superior' (as in description of room given) was not a description I would use!!
Hotel was very comfortable and relaxed. Both the staff and location are excellent
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel was well located and was very quirky, far better than staying in a hotel chain.
Lovely location with very friendly relaxed staff. Food very good and varied at a reasonable charge. Rooms comfortable and clean. It was not a problem to us but there is no lift and there are 3 floors, could be difficult for some elderly people.
the area is very nice, romantic lake, poor commercial facilities, restaurants, etc
Location is ideal for exploring the scenic, historic, and beautiful countryside and medieval villages between Toulouse and Carcassonne. The forest-park and lake of St. Ferreol just across the street were just lovely. Continental breakfast buffet (included) was varied and delicious. Very friendly staff. Good hotel restaurant with regional specialties (although we did not eat there). A room for 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) with one queen bed and a bunk bed was cramped. Bathroom was small, and had no shower curtains. Compared to country Gites and Auberges we've seen in France the price was a bit high. Finding St. Ferreol and the nearby town of Revel at night via a spider's web of small country roads can be a challenge.
Nice location in small town (village?) center/promenade with restaurant. No problem with parking despite central location. Because of our poor French skills we had some communication breakdowns with the French only staff. We managed to get the hotel bill when we wanted to pay for the food for instance.
Quiet, comfortable and friendly staff You could turn the heating down a bit.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds. A little out of town.
it was calm with helpful staff. the covered swimming pool ensured that the water was clean and warm. wasn't clear which rooms come with a terrace or balcony so had to pay a suppliment on arrival. in the ad it just said 'many rooms with terrace or balcony'.
the pool and the easy access to the old town
friendly staff restaurant was very slow, was seated at table and left for 30 minutes without offer of a drink or being given menus. after complaint food was served quickly but was not hot enough. there did not appear to be any supervision, waiters busy but unfocussed.
Hotel is easy to find, has a very nice pool and a reasonable restaurant, which is handy because the town centre is too far to walk just for a meal and the along main road is not a particularly pleasant walk.
Superior hotel for a quick overnight stay, big room, very friendly staff, excellent breakfast and even a swimming pool. A little more pricey than some chain hotels but good value for money if you want to ensure a good night's sleep. My only negative points are a) there was 1 tiny bar of soap and an impossible to open shower gel which was disappointing given all the other good points and b) the shower did not have an adjustable level/head direction, so pretty annoying when I wanted to wash my hair. These two points would cost peanuts to fix and then the hotel would be faultless.
Room was ok; restaurant was good fo the food (stunning entreés) also if a little bit expensive Nothing relevan
Visited many of the surrounding villages, also two trips into Carcassonne to visit the old town and the town of Carcassonne. Also visited the coast. Very enjoyable. Our room had a separate toilet, which we considered to be very cramped and would be very uncomfortable for a large person.
