Restaurant was ok. Rooms were very basic and old.
Cooling in the room The hotel was difficult to find, address information incorrect. The room was reasonable but not great for 2 adults and 3 kids. The building as a whole looks very worn down.
Room are too small for 4 persons. Our 2 children had to sleep on matrasses laying on the floor. Kitchen staff stood smoking that's why we went somewhere else to eat.
Nothing The staff were obviously over stretched and under staffed. Dinner was appalling, we did not get two of the orders we had placed, and it took three attempts before we were told that what we had ordered was not available. We accept that it had been a busy week end however the staff's response was down right rude and in the end we refused to pay for one of the meals.
good hotel for an overnight stopover en-route to Cote d Azure
Finding the hotel was a nightmare, the location information was poor in the extreme. On our second visit on the return journey the towels had a strange smell
A very beautiful manor that has managed to keep it's originality (in the older rooms). The food was very good, if you like a more gourmet and expensive menu. Hard to find but worth it. No lift in the old section.
The hotel and staff was really great! The dinner there was very nice and good tasting. It was located out in the countryside and was very quite at night. Really beautiful place surrounded by vineyards. Absolutely nothing, it was all great and would go back there again!
nice location, prestigious chateau
Room was great. Excellent property
breakfast dog excrement in the garden on our private patio. Not being taken immediately to an appropriate room due to my mobility restrictions, and that I had outlined that in an email.
An exceptional hotel, one of the best we've ever stayed at No complaints at all
very quet and nice no
The Chateau was everything we could have hoped for and one of the best we have stayed at even though we travel through France regularly. One night was not enough. The dinner was incredibly good and excellent value. We chose a "comfort room" rather than the duplex as more in character. Would not have wanted to spend so much if we'd paid full price - the half-price offer was brilliant. I will not spend 20 euros each on breakfast anywhere! The mattress felt lumpy and not up to the standard of the rest of the room.
new decorated rooms, great breakfast, excellent hotel
Very nice environment, good restaurant
In a very nice location, the owner of the Maritonnes are great. and I will return to see them if i pass again in the Beaujolais.
We found the hotel location great for exploring the Beaujolais. We were disappointed that our choices from the dinner menu were not available on 2 evenings.
Room, patio and food were good. The front and reception area could be more attractive.
the manager went out of his way to make our stay wonderful. NO other mortal could have been more helpful. All the staff were kind, caring and helpful. We even had an upgraded room at no extra cost.
Large room, & bathroom. Large & comfortable bed, nice garden view.+
We like the Dutch couple who runs the Hotel of which we have visited from their start 11 years ago and they still remember us even though there has been a slip of 2-3 years no, but maybe it would help if the servants at the restaurant could speak better English
The food The room furniture
This was a beautiful hotel. We booked an extra night as we were so impressed with it. We were upgraded to a superior room which was very spacious with balcony overlooking the balcony. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel. The dining room was excellent as well with a beautiful buffet breakfast. It is also easy to locate with good signage.
You feel at home. Very friendly.
Excellent location, near the Fleurie village and vineyards, as well as others Beaujolais villages. Very calm. Good buffet breakfast. Free WiFi. Nice and strictly non smoking room. Cleanliness. Very nice stay. The hotel should offer some food to dinner. We suggested them to offfer a light menu, like soup or salads, and cheese and wine, of course..
we liked the friendly approach of the staff , the position in the country and the closeness to Fleurie
everything very well maintained and an obvious attempt to meet every need. International newspapers etc. Very nice greeting from staff and willingness to serve.
A nice freindly quiet hotel in a lovely area of France. Shame there was no mresturant.
The location in the vineyards and the owners attention to detail top quality linen and towels. A bonus on a very hot day was the delightful pool.
We were welcomed warmly on arrival by the owner Mme Despres. The hotel does not provide evening meals so Mme Despres recommended a local restaurant and kindly booked a table for us, The food there was was excellent. The hotel itself is high standard, in a nice setting and had comfortable beds . We did not have time to enjoy the pool or the sauna. We enjoyed our stay albeit brief. I would go back there.
Clean, welcoming small hotel on edge of town/village within easy walk of centre, rooms reasonable size, comfortable double bed
Very friendly; free WiFi
The pool was great Extremely uncomfortable night due to heat. They could really improve the experience with air conditioning
The restaurant was very good with local dishes superbly cooked and a good selection of local wines.
Quiet comfortable room, pleasant staff, good food and pichet wine at reasonable prices.
There are no places in the restaurant for the hotel guests because the hotel was overbooked!! We had booked breakfast, but there was no seats inside, we were asked whether we would like to cancel the breakfast, but we hold the breakfast and take place in the garden.
Breakfast was good and a perfect location for a number of eateries
Ultra modern funky room with space age feel. Very convenient for overnight stop over while travelling. No air conditioning and no kettle to make a cup of tea
It has a very idealistic location, close to Macdonals,Careffour super market and a Tank station... It is very good as a stop point for a trip to the south of france or Spain.
- Furniture in rooms is old, carpets need to be replaced. Rooms were hot, with open windows you keep hearing trains.
budget price Poor maintenance of rooms, bathroom door broken, no soap in shower dispenser, window blind broken, generally a bit scruffy (but cheap rates)
Could not find the hotel. The map which we printed off this site was very poor. We rang to ask directions but the stated they did not speak english but when we got there the english was very good but then he prentended he did not understand us again when we stated we rang for directions. The breakfast was poor for over €5. We also had a 18 month old with us and his bed was a bunk which was not really suitable.
The fine cooking, but not on this occasion We stayed at this simple village hotel at the same time last year and had a wonderful meal. Despite the rooms being very basic, we decided, once again, to make this our last stop on a tour of Europe. When we arrived, we were told that the restaurant was always closed on a Tuesday and no food or drink could be provided. We were told that an e-mail had been sent to warn us, but no e-mail from the hotel has ever been received. We were told that the local restaurant was open but we found that this too was shut. This is a fairly remote village and we had no option but to leave and, late in the evening, find an alternative hotel in the nearest city. Hardly what we expected.
Wonderful location and beautiful food. The staff were very helpful.
The Hotel was nicely situated and the staff were very friendly.
General ambience was welcoming and the staff were excellent. Plug would not work in sink. Once hot water was used, difficulty in getting cold. Shower head would not stay upright.
The excellent food and friendly reception.Very recomendable
Wonderful owners were most helpful and friendly. The food was creative and outstanding quality. Our room had a great view. This is a gorgeous location in a small wine town.
One of the nicest hotels that I have ever stayed at. Very comfortable with wonderful views. The hotel restaurant's menu was not inspring, but there is a good restaurant about 100 meters away.
Very pleasant room with views to the vine covered hills. A good welcome with excellent restaurant and adequate wine list. The lack of hot water at important times was rather off putting.
The food is superb & although not cheap, good value for such professionalism & originality
Excellent location for exploring Beaujolais contry. Rooms are simple. Food is outstanding. Superb cooking, but expect to pay for it. Hostess is very helpful and an expert on wine. Pleasant dining room with wood burning stove. Electric heaters in the rooms. With so few staying, it would have been good for the chef to have met his clients.
Clean, convenient, nice staff
all its a little difficult to find it
It's near the highway and there is airco -
Convenience An English channel (bbc News / cnn) would have helped
Staff very good and a good restaurant over the road, easy to find and close to the autoroute. Hotel a little bit dated in the bed rooms, needed a a coat of paint and the bathroom light needed changing , but ok
Location Unmanned at night: internet should have alluded to this. Telephone misdirected to a sleeping guest! Emergency night time number unanswered. Could only access 1 of 2 booked rooms (for the children) so had to sleep in car park. Unable to purchase an additional room because of 'technical difficulties'. Car park unlocked/open all night. The room stank of cigarettes. Heater did not work in the bathroom.
Easy, secure parking. Clean, comfortable room. It would have been good to be able to have an aperitif in the garden or in an inside bar before dinner.
Ease of access from motorway. value for money restaurant. Very helpful staff and child friendly.
Excellent location close to motorway but a short walk to town. Room had slightly musty smell
We used the hotel as a "pit stop" on our way from marseille to paris. it served it's purpose as that and only that. bed was comfortable. Advertised wifi did not work in the room and we had to go to the lobby in order to get it working. bathtub/shower was too small and my partner slipped and almost seriously hurt herself. toilet was too high off the ground and when sitting on it, feet could not reach the ground. contruction somewhere in the building started early and woke us up.
Location, restaurant, surroundings, closeness to park with playground. Could be slightly renovated. Hairdryer missing.
A lovely situation good facilities swimming pool tennis court in delightful village 10 mins from autoroute surrounded by Morgon vineyards Breakfasts at 9 euros finished at 9.30 a bit early on holiday We breakfasted "independantly" on terrace courtesy of excellent village boulangerie Tennis net needs replacing !
The hotel is a beautiful old mansion in a surronding of many vineyards.Very calm. The beautiful antique beds are rather short. The rooms are dark and somewhat noisy. There is no restaurant in the neighbourhood.
Wonderful owners, lovely rooms, a beautiful stay!!
The very friendly "patron": we arrived late in the evening and wanted to take a small dinner with the bread and cheese we brought with us and he set us a nice table, recommended us a good Beaujoulais of the region and he even served us a homemade chocolate cake as dessert: Wonderful! We also liked the calmness and the nice surrounding and decoration and the convenient access to the autoroute.
Warm welcome by the host (speaking english and helpful) Old and really worn furniture. In my opinion unbearable condition for the room and the bathroom. After 10 p.m. the reception is closed and you aren't able to buy water (no automatic machine, no frigobar) and this is a real problem because from the tap the water has a very bad taste and odor. Too expensive
The location was good, the accommodation was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The owner was very hospitable and helpful. Wifi available at no extra cost and there was ample parking.
This hotel is OK for a short trip. Very friendly people. Breakfast was a lot and fresh.
We had a lovely, well furnished big room. The hotel is in the heart of the countryside, it was very peaceful with wonderful views The directions/maps were dire - we had to ask for help in order to get there. Breakfast wasn' t too plentiful, and their were flies everywhere in the dining room , to be expected maybe in the countryside. The owners seemed not to be troubled by them, but we found them bothersome whilst eating.
Friendly staff. The hotel is a country house totally immers in the countryside and not so easy to find but the landscape was great and the room was superb. 30 minutes from Cluny
5 course dinner for a reasonable price was better than in the Michelin star restaurant next evening. True!! Remote site, for us little difficult to find. Maybe need better instructions
Excelent Excellent restaurant with reasonable price.
Nice receptionist on departure who helped me to sort out problem from night before Automatic check in would not recognise my credit card nor would it take reference number had to pay for another room
It was easily accessible from the motorway The room was a non smoking room but there was a very strong cigarette smell. All our bedding and clothing smelt of cigarette smoke which is not pleasant for non smokers with a small child. Not impressed with the hotel and should have stayed at a Companile or Etap.
In the several Premier Class hotels in which we stayed the staff were neither very friendly nor helpful. There were no plugs in the wash basins, the bathrooms were awful and small. There were no plates off which to eat breakfast and the choice of foods for breakfast were very limited. Premier class they definitely are not!
Lying in the sun outside & relaxing from a long journey
Good value and close to A6 Signs were poor at night to find the entrance to the hotel.
very basic very basic
Comfortable bed. Restaurant on site Floor was grubby. Shower was like pressure washer because 'rose' missing, although this was eventually rectified. Odd 'set-up' in shower, meaning that shower curtain did not stop water flooding on to floor. (We were in Room No. 1).
Convenient location for stop off. Easy access to motorway. Good internet access. Accidently wiped card key (with mobile phone in pocket). Diffficulty phoning for hep out of hours. Simple note to go to Campanile reception would have helped
Very friendly & helpful
Nice, comfortable room, well-decorated, good bathroom, well-situated. Not really
As a wheelchair user I need a ground floor bedroom with space to access the bathroom. Everything was perfect - there were lovely views from the room and the hotel owners were extremely helpful and welcoming. Very peaceful and attractive countryside.
the situation of the hotel , among vineyards , is quiet and relaxing
the location and quietness the welcome was anything but warm- the proprietor was grumpy and proferred some inaccurate comments on the local restaurants- the family should carry on their (noisy) disagreements out of the hearing of the guests- we stayed two nights and the beds were covered but not made up : we had to smooth the sheets before getting into bed- there was no farewell: the money was taken and that was it.
private parking, beautifully surrounded by vinyards with view on the grapes ! friendly service, good restaurants around in the village(s) nearby.
We were welcomed bythe Delightful owners and looked after during our stay, ideal for the Beaujolais area.
Everyone was very friendly and it is situated in a beautiful part of France.
The owner was not there at 14.00. We waited for more than an hour before we could check in. We do have to say Booking was more than helpful and called the owner for us and called us back. Booking service was excellent.
Swimming pool, location Not friendly
