Mr and Mrs Geers-Gobbe were very friendly and welcoming and the service very efficient. The hotel and surroundings were beautiful and the food excellent. The bedroom was very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cap Au Vert and would recommend the whole experience. We were a little disappointed that the hotel was more or less closed on the Monday although we were aware that the restaurant was not open. The bell was not working so we had to telephone for entry to the hotel each time we returned.
Spacious room with tiny bathroom. Wonderful tropical garden where meal are served. Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Very good location for a walk in the countryside. Best choice for mature couples. Definitely not an hotel for families with young children (we had to wait almost one hour to have a hot meal for the baby). Staffs were not so friendly with us. No wifi despite the website was indicating free internet in the entire hotel.
The tropical garden and welcome of the owners
Our charming hosts provided us with wonderful tranquility friendliness and superb cuisine
heaven on earth. if you need a place to unwind and relax this is the hotel for you. the rooms are charming. the food delicious. the hosts friendly and professional. make the booking. you won't be sorry!
Outstanding hospitality in the heart of the Semois Valley. Splendid views from both the room and the terrace in front of the hotel. Quality food. We will be back.
Good food and hospitality. None
A very nice hotel in a quiet and undisturbed part of the Ardennes. Easy access to a multitude of forested walking routes. The view from the breakfast/dining room and terrace, overlooking the river in the bottom of the valley, was very much like a post card. Very friendly staff.
On arrival we were immediately embraced with the warmest of welcomes by Richard. The room was delightful, comfortable with beautiful views and a modern bathroom. The common areas were cosy and relaxing again with beautiful views. Good wines and well chosen music completed the ambience. The half board here provides outstanding meals designed and cooked to perfection by Eddie then served with humour and good grace by Steve. Thanks to all three wonderful hosts. We can't wait to come back and stay longer!
The restaurant, the comfort of the room, the place itself No.
even though there was a big language barrier the staff coped well
room, meals, service
The surroundings of an old house
Nothing Isolated location, lack of facilities with nowhere else to go.
The room was spacious and the grounds were nice. We had issues with the plumbing. They were responsive, but unable to fix the problem well. Because the place was fully booked, there was no option of another room.
the free parking this hotel seems to still be under construction/updating
Nice idea, it is not exactly castle but it rather hotel rised up on the ruins of some building. The mail place in the middle of the hotel gives nice climat. Very close to Luxemburg and some other castles and Abbays. Room was not clean - old pillows and bead cover remained in the wardrobe and generate unexpected smell. Most of equipotent in the bath room was in good condition but ceramic was not very clean. The same for the walls. In our opinion if it is a castle it should have castle interior as a decoration and we felt like in castle cause the walls were repaired in very cheep way - reparation of painted walls by concrete - in my apartment/house I would be shame to show this kind of renovation to friends and family - we are young pair and it should been some kind weeding week but it wasn't. It should cost 40 euro and not almost 90 without breakfast – sound like joke !!!. Idea is ok but performed without excitation. We felt cheated.
restful: as well surroundings hotel, as music during the meals, cosy garden and rooms (large bed),
The food at this hotel was terrific! I had the best best trout ever; it must have been marinaded in beer from L'Abbaye Orval.
Quiet place, nice staff, doing the best they can No (forced) ventilation in bathroom, no airco? We could not sleep well. Maybe other rooms (with 2 separate beds!!) are better. So, I advise for all the rooms separate quality beds and forced ventilation! If possible airco.
The hotel is located in the center of the village with a nice neighbourhood. A beautiful garden next to a small river. The restaurant is outstanding No complains at all.
Nice room which was spotlessly clean, pretty village located well for sightseeing the Valle de la Semois Cost of restaurant was very high and service was very slow although the food was excellent.
The hotel , the rooms and the surrounding park are kept very clean. It is a peacefull place since the hotel is located near the forest. They have an excellent cuisine and the staff is kind to the guests.
Wonderful countryside setting. Peaceful and luxurious. Lovely breakfast. Restaurant is closed Tuesday nights but we were advised of this in advance and offered excellent alternatives.
The fact that we were only staying one night. and it was not too far to drive to find a reasonable evenig meal with friendly staff I though that the hotel was unfriendly and the receptionist was most rude upon our arrival. The receptionist did not even speak directly to us or smile at any point. We did not see or speak to a member of staff during our stay. The only way we found anything was the few lines on one page in a book in the hotel room. The hotel is over priced for what it is - frankly we felt most unwelcome at this hotel. By reading the book we found that dinner could only be ordered within a 1 hour time slot, that is why we went elswhere for our evening meal.
The room, service, and dining including the reasonable wine list, could not be faulted. An excellent place to relax.
The setting and tranquility are excellent so is the area. The trees are special and the garden The owners and staff. Slow expensive drinks service, very average food and the rip off at dinner. Having asked for a bottle of Fleuri, the waiter brought not the 26 Euro one which we had indicated but one at 56 Euros. He said nothing at the time but at payment of final bill we were tiold the other Fleuri had run out.
