Pros: You won't regret that's for sure :)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Look upon
Cons: I was a bit tired after a long day and found there were too many explanations of the Location. Its a wunderful place and wouldn't need that. (We just stayed 1 night)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Veronique and Jean Luc were exceptional hosts and greeted us on arrival. They booked a restaurant for us locally and then took us to the restaurant and fetched us back after we had eaten. The room was clean and comfortable, everything we required was provided. We were asked what we would like for breakfast the evening before even down to how long we would like the eggs cooked. Fresh juices, french bread what also appeared to be home made jams, cheese local cold meats etc., and the croissants were the best my husband had ever tasted. ***5 star + hosts and the most exquisite establishment. Unfortunately as winter were not able to use the swimming pool, but the grounds are exceptional.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were very eager to please guests. Very quiet at night and lovely property. Secure parking
Cons: No where to eat or have a drink in evening
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a great place! A beautiful house set in a beautiful park just opposite the river. Very quiet and spotless property throughout. Big, comfortable bedroom. Delicious breakfast with local products. The owners are really friendly and helpful, happy to chat and to make our stay as pleasant as possible. I would definitely love to go back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our second time staying here. Veronique and John Luc are the most wonderful of hosts. They maintain a beautiful and very comfortable bed and breakfast. Much attention to detail in a friendly, well run and relaxing environment. A very comfortable bed, delightful decor and a good quiet nights sleep A wonderful breakfast table with fresh local ingredients. Loved the apple juice which is made locally. So nice to eat breakfast looking out over the beautiful garden. Thankyou to our lovely hosts for making our stay very special
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Veronique was very welcoming after a long drive. The bedroom was done to a high standard and breakfast was very good.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Owners very welcoming and helpful, lovely house, breakfast and garden.
Cons: Kettle in the room would have been nice as saves having to ask every time you want a cup of tea but owners were happy to get it for you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you wanna see Anjou stay with Veronique and Jean Luc. Such a welcoming and nice stay. Beautiful house and perfect, quiet rooms. A lot of Information and details from for sightseeing if you need it. We recommend 100% this beautiful accomodation!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this hotel was magnificent. The owners are lovely chatty people who want their guests to be delighted with their stay. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished and the views are either of the river Sarthe or across the fountain and English box borders and cedar trees. The bedrooms are luxury itself, as is the shower ensuite room. First class fitments, fittings, towels on heated towel rails. The bed was wonderful, as were the woven cane chairs and art work. The central heating and hot water were constant too. The breakfast room and the breakfasts were also delightful. Fresh orange or apple juices, St Malo yoghurt, fresh croissant or Pain au chocolat, goats' cheese, fresh baguettes, President butter and a choice of 4 local made jams. Hot milk for freshly brewed coffee, which is roasted in the area. The view from the beautiful glass breakfast room over the sparkling fountain and sun streaming in is heavenly-in February! We also liked the free secure parking.
Cons: The spiral staircase-although absolutely beautiful- is not suitable for those who are not mobile. The T.V. only had programs in French. OK for us, but maybe not for other international clients?
Le Bignon - Jarzé-Villages - Bedroom

9.7 Excellent (48 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our booking was made at very short notice but the proprietors, Wendy and Peter, were very welcoming, accommodating and helpful. Wendy kindly sat us down with a pot of tea while making finishing preparations to our room. We had the 'red room', which was very clean, airy, comfortable, and full of character and nice touches. The en-suite was roomy with a good walk-in shower. The in-room tea making facilities included bone china cups, which always make tea taste better! Le Binyon has a nice rural setting about a mile from the village of Jarzé and just a few miles from the small town of Bauge, where Wendy made us a dinner reservation at an excellent restaurant. Our stay was made complete by an beautiful breakfast and we really couldn't have asked for more.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is a beautiful 18c. house. Wendy and Peter are the perfect hosts and made us very welcome indeed. Peter is an excellent chef and went out of his way to cater for our vegan daughters.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful hosts
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great Breakfasts, beautifully presented
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We found Le Bignon to be well situated for an overnight stay on our way back to the ferry at St Malo but next time we would like to stay longer. Our room was extremely pleasant and comfortable. Peter and Wendy were perfect hosts who were attentive and helpful but not intrusive. Breakfast was excellent. We would recommend a stay at Le Bignon.
Cons: We could not think of any way to improve our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners went out of their way to ensure that our special breakfast needs were catered for. We were welcomed with a much appreciated "cup of tea".
9.5 Excellent
Pros: the welcome from the owners was amazing, the fact that we did have a dog and they made her welcome and she slept in the car.
Cons: May be some more fruit at breakfast time and may be an offer of an egg or something simple. The owners did ask us in the evening but sometimes you don't know until you get up, especially, and as our alarm had gone off at 5.30 am, we were hungrier than normal!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tea and biscuits on arrival, swim in the pool, and when we asked Wendy where to get supper she suggested that Peter (who was out shopping) could buy us what we needed and they'd set up a table by the pool. Peter returned with baguette, pate, cheese, salad and so we had a delicious meal in the evening sunshine. Perfect.
Cons: Nothing!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were lovely as was the welcome and the dinner.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were welcomed by Wendy and Peter and had beautifully furnished, comfortable rooms in a tranquil setting. Peter prepared a delicious vegan meal for us and the fact the car trouble had delayed our arrival was not an issue. Breakfast looked beautiful and tasted great and our various dietary preferences were catered for without a fuss. We would highly recommend and loved seeing and hearing the owls.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at the chateau for two nights in order to attend a ukulele festival at nearby St Denis D'Anjou. The owner was most accommodating allowing us to check in early so we didn't miss any of the festival. The chateau was in a beautiful location and the facilities were excellent. The chance to make tea or coffee was much appreciated as was the owners thoughtful provision of a jug of milk to make a cup of tea ! The owner spoke some English and was most welcoming. Merci Michel pour un sejour tres agreable!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere. Host explained and provided map to get to a local restaurant as well refuelling motorcycle. Very friendly to bikers with safe and secure parking. Breakfast very good.
Cons: Nothing of significance.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic. The hosts are more than accommodating in every aspect. There is a welcoming smile for you with a little history of the place from the owners. The ambience and decor of the place makes you feel almost like french aristocracy. They let you play the antique grand piano but only if you can play. There are lots of antiques and curios everywhere that make you feel like your staying in a period drama from the early 19th century. Like you've gone back in time. Like staying in a french museum for chateau life that is absolutely brimming from wall to wall with something to catch your attention and stir an emotion. Nothing is locked away in a glass cabinet so you can touch everything too. But only if you respect it. The bedrooms are lovely, comfortable and clean. Very romantic. Theres a pool too which isn't like something you'd get in a 5 star Mauritius beach hotel but it's more than good enough. You are provided with your own breakfast room all laid out in regal style which again, you feel like your in Downton abbey. Your also given your own basket with all the picnic items you'll need. All in all, the best place we have ever stayed for welcome, comfort, quiet, peace and ambience. The only modern thing here is the wifi, so if you crave snacks, tv, a bar and entertainment then forget it. Go elsewhere and I'll go here.
Cons: There is nothing not to like. If your fussy about there being snacks available or a tv then you'll be disappointed. But that's your problem not theirs.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Liked everything
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: Spacious comfortable chateau. Quiet location. Owner v affable and attentive when around.
Cons: More like being a house guest than staying in a fully serviced hotel. If there was dinner there was no choice. Average quality and over priced. Beds/towels changed daily. Room v comfortable but never given a key so couldn’t lock it. Drinks available but helped yourself and made a note in a book. Shower in our room was unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues - v high step to get over. Toilet in ridiculously small cubicle. We joked you had to back into it. Not easy to find. In the middle of nowhere with poor signposting. V overpriced compared to similar properties we stayed at on the same holiday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying in the elegant Château was like travelling back in time. Furnishings were authentic period pieces and the night was starry and full of the sounds of frogs, crickets, and birds. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. Perfect!
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great venue and welcoming host, full of history.
Cons: I don't like a separate loo from the bathroom can't wash hands without touching a number of door handles. But very common in France I'm told
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The personal atmosphere, the walk in the park and beautiful surroundings of this 18th-century chateau, which is full of family history.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant stay. Friendly proprietors. Good continental breakfast. Very conveniently located in the village.
Cons: Whilst the shower was screened it was still in the bedroom. We would have prefered a totally private bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent B&B, very spacious upper floor suite. Very clean, comfortable beds. Breakfast was outside in the garden, superb! Pancakes, crusty bread, home made jams etc.
Cons: The upstairs suite was accessible by outside stairs. This was fine for us, but would not be suitable for very small children, the disabled or elderly infirm. Unfortunately the temperatures whilst we were there were at an all time high, and the rooms were very hot. This was in no way detrimental to the owners of the B&B, but maybe extra fans would help in extreme weather highs.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming hosts, large comfortable bedroom, excellent breakfast, lots of delicious, home produced food. And a really large powerful shower. Very secure parking. And our dog was welcome at no extra cost.
Cons: Steep, narrow steps up to the room.
