Friendly staff, central location. No communting rooms
central to city,clean,comfortable,well presented
Nice location with free parking and local market on Saturdays. We booked the "romantic getaway" to get a nicer room for just a few more Euros and got champagne, chocolates, and a rose (with rose petals scattered around)! Only a small town so not much choices for restaurants, but we were just using it as a stop on way to Andorra.
Great place, easy access from the big road in our way to Andorra. Really worth of the money.
The room was very comfortable.
Great location, easy to find, nothing negative(nothing). We would definetly stay here again. Thanks so much for a stress free vacation. You should have better rave reviews on this place.
The staff were excellent. Good location.
The Hotel is modern, clean and up to Spanish Good standards of decor. Has greater potential than it achieves in other areas. Was let down by small dining room with partition screen between the bar area, and obvious out of the freezer type instant food.
The hotel was easy to find and in a good location in the town centre. We used the underground car park which enabled us to store our bikes securely. The staff on reception were really helpful. The rooms were modern comfortable and clean. Wi fi reception was good and free. The breakfast was average - had to ask for fresh hot water in the flask for tea. The reception staff were having difficulties with their credit card machine which resulted in me having to pay for breakfast in cash.
Comfort and cleanliness of room. The meal we had in the restaurant was excellent. One disappointment was at breakfast where we were not able to get a satisfying cup of tea. The hot water never seems hot enough in Spain.
Helpfulness of staff in recommending restaurants late at night
Hotel much better from inside (nice and calm room) than from outside; easy to find.
Friendly staff A bit too noisey outside our room and the meals were a little pricey and limited
It´s a very good location and quiet place, it´s near the Queralt sanctuary.
I liked everything especialy the kindness off the staf No complaints
pleasant staff, quality food at affordable prices, excellent location close to nuria valley, and sorrounding mountains.if you want to get away from city rat race.do it now.
Going on the train to Nuria and looking at the birds and flowers
Very close to train to Vall de Nuria Skiing resort. Good breakfast and good dinner. Helpful staff also when we needed emergency in the middle of the night. Room was very small. Bathtub was a bit rusty. TV is too high to see from the bed. Hotel information booklet is in Catalan / Spanish. Not all staff speak English. TV only with Spanish channels.
the tv was very small and old and the hotel requires a prepay charge right with the order, even though the booking site it is written that it is not required.
Excellent family run hotel with lovely rooms. Jacuzzi on sun roof is really wonderful. The restaurant especially a la carte is excellent. No
The hotel has the best possible location for the Vall de Nuria train, two minutes from the train station. It is divided into two buildings, we stayed in the other one than the reception. Rooms are small, so at least that part of the hotel is fit for a short and focused stay rather than a longer one. Breakfast service is ok, although not a very rich selection. We received a smoking room despite our request for a non-smoking preference. Odor was not too strong though. Internet did not work in that part of the hotel, so we had to go into the main building, which does not have an appropriate bar or sitting area, so this was quite uncomfortable.
Extremely friendly staff, close to everywhere, easy to find even if you arrive in the middle of the night without a proper map:) Parking space easily available.
Staff friendliness. Breakfast was great value for money!! Room is basic but has everything needed. Room was a bit cold. Heating not 100% working.
The staff was very kind and helpfull, we had an apartment for 4 ppl separate from the hotel, very good for family with children. Great continental breckfast, the dinner was nice too. Good position to plan walk in the forest. A little noise from the route nearby. No WI-FI connection in the separate apartment.
Friendly staff helped to make Robert's birthday special. We liked walking and looking at wildlife.
Very friendly people
Location and free on-site parking Evening meal facilities
Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was excellent. Airconditioning was OK but took its time to make an impact.
Lovely rooms, air conditioning, powerful shower, clean, comfy bed Was told the nearest restaurant was 10km away but managed to find a bar within walking distance that did food. Breakfast was an hour late in starting and it was difficult to check out.
The exelent view Dinner was poor
Very clean, and quiet room, well equiped and confortable Staff very kind also A good price for value hotel in a nice area May be the simply "continental" breakfast, but it can be improved by request don't hesitate
Evening meal and breakfast both freshly prepared, tasty, copious and good. Maitre d' in the evening , Gerard, particularly helpful and friendly. translation from Catalan on the menu very welcome and efficiently done.
The village itself is very calm and not much happens. However, it is a great place to use as a base to explore the major surrounding towns, in particular Ripoll, which is 10 mins by train from st. Quirze. Visit the famous ecclestiacal sites and have a fine lunch without having to use your car. The staff in the hotel are amazingly polite, friendly and helpful, smiley, (not falseley), and will offer to help in any way they can. Their English is great for non Spanish speaking English speakers. A culture shock for most people who use hotels regularly! For the price the food is excellent but dont expect gastronomique. Traditional, very well prepared and served which is what we wanted. Dont forget to try the ratafia bosch, a localally produced digestif which will remind you of cough medicines when you were a child!!! A great hotel in a great location overlooking the river. Ps. Saw, for my first time, a doting, resident Black Swan couple on the river daily.
Nice hotel, very nice and clean rooms.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the room was comfortable and clean
family atmosphere the facilities for children were dirty and our mobile home smells
very peaceful campsite set on the edge of the montains. Helpful staff with good english language skills
It is a nice camping site. Supermarket is at the site, you can cook at your own room, or use the resturant. We wonder why for using the swimming pool we had to pay extra.
Everything! The hosts were the most obliging and friendly I have ever come across. Genuinely warm and extremely professional. The building itself is absolutely divine, and is finished and maintained to the highest standard. The country setting is simply spectacular. I can not overstate just how much we enjoyed our stay here! A perfect 10/10 experience.
Hospitality of the owners, extremely helpful. Maybe a few brouchers in apartment about the area and resturants, supermarket etc would be good. Possibly a MP3 connection on the DVD player so we could play our music as we didn't understand any of the Spanish TV channels.
Nice building and landscape. Really kind staff. The bed could be more comfortable.
nicely renovated country house. perfect for a weekend getaway.
The location of the hotel is great ,though a bit hard to find.I recomend to put a big sign in Ribbes de fresser, on the main road near the train station which shall direct the guest into the right direction.
From the moment I arrived I was made to feel exceptionally welcome. The hotel owners were charming and went out of their way to meet my requests for an early breakfast. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and nicely decorated with quality furniture and fittings. The restaurant was basic but the food great. This was simply one of the best hotels I have stayed in recently. Exceptional value for money. Nothing. This was a gem of a hotel
Clean, modern and very nice room. Good facilities. free wi-fi in all rooms. Two free use computers running on Linux .... great !!!! Very friendly and helpful staff.
The Staff is great. They are flexible with time and prices. Always available to help you and suggest you better plans to enjoy their region and hotel. The hotel is held by family memebers which add more charm.
Very clean modern and new. Very freindly and attentive staff. The food was excellent. We walked around the village looking for places to eat, and eventually was directed back to our own hotel. The hotel could probably make it a bit more obvious that they served food. The Saturday 18th Sept that we stayed the village had a trash metal and trance music festival which went on untill around 4:30am. All but one of our party had no sleep that night. This may have been beyond the hotel's control, and they did supply ear plugs, but I would avoid that weekend, unless you want to go to the festival. The hotel was also a victum of its own success, and probably needed more staff at times.
10 points for excellent stay, great cosy hotel, beautiful room. +1 extra point for very helpful staff, made us feel like home, helped organise our daily trips with very good advise ! Gracies ;) Nothing to dislike at all !!
Excellent location and value for money. Polite and considerate owners and staff. Minimal, if any, staff available during day but was end of season with few guests.
The slocatin and atmosphir. We left the hotel for hicking at 07:15 and came beck to checkout at 12:15 and the hotel maneger didn`t put extracharges. The bed is very small and the mattress very soft.
great location in the centre of town with friendly staff, easy car parking and super clean rooms
Nice people No hot water! Room was chilly with no thermostat.
A very friendly, family run hostal with a nice catalan restaurant. Located fairly close to the mountain peaks of the eastern pyrenees. The swimming pool was large and very clean but expensive to use.
It is in a good locsation to break the journey from the Pyrenees tothe sea. ahugely over-priced for what was on offer, and the time of year. Room was very basic.
Friendliness, cleaness, breakfast
Located in an area not well served for family hotels. Nice pool. Swimming pool opening hours could have been longer.
Too expensive for facilities. It was a campground with a hotel attached. Room was spartan with low ceiling and no products. For Spain, and even for France it was way over priced for the value provided. There was nothing we really liked. It was a very minimal facility for a very high price: 90 euros with breakfast far exceeded what we have paid in many much nicer places, like the place we are in now, Auberge Catalane where we have demi pension for 95 euros with remarkable food and a much nicer room.
Nice and friendly staff, amazing views to mountains. The room is ok - clean and comfortable, but the bed was a little short even for my height (182cm). There was also a nice swimming pool, but we didn't have a time to use it. Wifi available. Couldn't choose the breakfast menu, I prefer the buffet breakfast.
Nice breakfast although we didn't enjoy the plate of meat on the first day (embotits?) - much better when we asked for cheese. We had no idea that the hostel's facilities would close the day after we arrived because of the end of school holidays - i.e. pool, games room, and restaurant and bar. Information on thw website to this eefct would have been useful so as not to disappoint expectations. Room quite cramped and dark.
Breakfast Awful beds, this is a youth hostel not a hotel. You pay the price of a hotel, however.
A convenient stop-over on the way from Barcelona to Andorra (though beware of the expensive toll tunnel which is to the North!). Nice room with balcony, café bar downstairs is the only place within about 10 miles open until 11pm, which was very handy. In the middle of nowhere, slightly weird vibe about the place but no complaints.
Convenience - did what it said on advert. No hiccups. Late check out time.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom is modern and everything functioned well. Plain and simple and good value for the money. The staff was nice enough, but were never at the front desk. If the hotel were busier perhaps there would have been someone available to help, but we had a hard time getting service at the desk or in the restaurant because no one was ever around and we had to wait.
very nice staff good clean room poor english
Modern faclities, clean and airy rooms Hotel was recently renovated, it is on the main road with lots of construction around. Breakfast looked skimmy and unappealing. Balcony overlooks the construction site and there is no privacy. Basic hotel served us well as a base for the Cadi Moixeres National Park
Everything was excellent No
nice new hotel, friendly staff with very good suggetions of what to see and to do the bar/restaurant is not expensive, but choice is poor
The room was really great. Very clean. Looked brand new. The bathroom was very nice, modern. The hotel is located about 1 km outside of Baga, not much to do near the hotel
good location, great value, good breakfast. Popular menu del dia but best taken at lunch time, staff attentive but very little english spoken
Good friendly atmosphere Not able to walk to Baga town
Hotel was conviniently located to access the Val de Nuria railway. Room was of good size and clean.
great hotel! great location! very nice stuff!
The helpful reception, the comfort and cleanliness of the room and bathroom, its situation in the village, the busy street terrace juxtaposed with the waterfall and river terrace, the swimming pool. We appreciated their 10% discount on the narrow-gage railway tickets for the Nuria Valley. Free public parking close at hand. Ability to hear the shower in the room next door. Being awakened by the 04:45 recycling truck emptying the glass bottle bins adjacent to the hotel.
Location is good, and it was easy to find p-place for the car. The village it self very peacefull. The owner's son and his wife spoke good english and were helpfully as some of the waitresses too. Wireless internet in the whole hotel :D :D From the scandinavian point of view the breakfast was very poor; a croisant, one cup of coffee and jam and it was served from 08:15?? We didn't notice any pool, but the river ;P
Central location and very clean rooms The room was a little small for 3 persons
Only the location. The hotel is located in the direct proximity to the river. Unfriendly staff, poorest possible breakfast (better none than such), absence of air conditioning inside the rooms.
Simple, nice place to put your head while travelling. the room smelled from air freshener when we entered. If it's a nice day (and it was) it would be nice to have the window opened for short time before coming.
lovely people, treated us very well, very good value
Very friendly and helpful staff - this was a family run hotel. We were made very welcome. Meals were good, and they were accommodating to requests re diet. Rooms were newly furbished in a simple style. Lack of sound insulation between the adjacent bathrooms and rooms and corridor - so every noise could be heard from the next bathroom and also from the corridor. New but tiny bathrooms which weren't well designed for the space. A real squeeze for a large person to get to the toilet!
We liked the hotel very much, the lady who manage the place is so kind, the hotel and rooms are very clean. Breakfast is nice.
not modern hotel,no telphone in the room.everthing in the room very old.I think I pay to to much for what I get. all the hotel look very very old.we didnt like it
The pleasant atmosphere created by the family that runs it The permission you need to use the television
Internet booking process went wrong and caused a double booking. At the hotel - none.
The ladies at reception were so warm and friendly it made me feel right at home! The room was simple and beautiful with a balcony, a great view to the mountains, and a radiator. The be was very comfortable and the shower had great water pressure and temperature. The breakfast was very nice with juice, coffee, bread, jam, cheese and meat. It was just so cozy! Definitely value for money! There was nothing I didn't like! It was all great! Also, you can buy tickets here for the Cremalleria rack train to Val de Nuria at a significant discount.
A wonderful owner and staff.
The staff were very friendly. The food was excellent and very nicely served. The hot water in our room wasn't very warm. The room was on the small side for a triple room.
A nice hotel in the center of Ribes de Freser. Staff was very helpful but nearly no english (but with french it works very well). Very clean!
Excellent location in the nice mountain town of Ribes. Despite my Spanish being pretty basic (and my Catalan more or less non existent!) the hotel staff went out of their way to try and be helpful, and even gave me a double room for no extra cost! Comfortable and spacious rooms, good breakfast.
Nice hotel with nice and friendly staff. As a bird watcher I prefere to eat breakfast early in the morning. 8 am is too late, especially in summer.
Nice staff, charming localities, perfect breakfast, the central place in the town, The poor doors to the bathroom
Pleasant, kind staff, nice old fashioned place with some attendant quirks that were funny, not a problem. It is not a standardised chain hotel. It was spotlessly clean. Loved the dining room. Would rather stay in a place like this any day having spent the night before in a soulless modern 'warehouse'. If it had been hotter I would have liked the option of air-conditioning. It's very trivial but if you have a tv in the room it should be clear what the system is to be able to watch it. Rooms at the front could suffer from traffic noise. Parking could be difficult, we were very fortunate to be able to park just across the road. Please don't let any of these comments put you off.
There was a problem with water (wet flor near the window)
