Great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, service provided just as expected and pomised in the description. No bad surprises upon arrival . Reservation check-out every thing is well organised and managed by friendly staff. Convenient. Ok restaurant, good breakfast. Very good value for money. For us as a family it was perfect for a we away..
Clean room there was a very loud noise in the bathroom - the hotel staff told it was ventilation and they can't do anything about it.
Ease of access and helpful staff. Bathroom was not clean (hair stuck to wall of shower), breakfast selection was limited.
All that we required for walking and fresh air
Centrally located near train station, shopping and city sights. Helpful staff. Good value No parking on-site.
Great location, good breakfast It most be great to stay here during winter, but in summer months is too hot and did not have any ventilation.
The Pool was great, the hotel clean and friendly. Restaurant menu limited for vegetarians. No night staff so nothing happened before 7 am
rooms were large decor was dated
Hotel too far from tobogganing park, not good with small kids walking up all those hills to get back to hotel after a tired day of play. Didnt have enough choice on food.
Good location for mountains and lifts, nice view across the valley and large sized comfortable room. In need of renovation in a few areas - bathroom had a bright orange sink! During my stay the restaurant was being renovated so the owners seem to be addressing this.
Friendly personnel, the pool and sauna, lovely view of the room, very good buffet food.
All facilities were right there in the hotel
The room is clean, big and comfortable. The view is good. The location is very convenient. It has wireless internet with payment. There is no coffee cooker or mini bar. Therefore, we cannot have boiled or hot water.
the reseption staff were so beautiful exactly "Geraldine" the location : you have to step up the mountain for a distance more than 10 km to get the hotel. also the house keeping was bad
The hotel is reasonably good
Very kind and helpful staff. It is a very comfortable 'anyplace anywhere' hotel, which was fine for this stay, a bit stale.
a very nice hotel, in a picturescue location. Very good value for money, higly recommended The price for the breakfast is high
Hotel staff, comfort
Beutiful location and nice staff Hotel generally very run down, old carpets in corridor, very unfresh, bed very sat down on the side - not a four star hotel, booring expensive breakfast
Wireless Internet & Convenient The telephone in the room cannot work.
I arrived late (at about 11pm) and although the kitchen closed at 9:30pm, the waitress provided me with food and drink - excellent service
I liked the location and the good service provided. Dinner is also often very good at this hotel. I have been to this hotel many times before. Last time before this was 4 years ago. But now, some rooms are in need of updating. Nothing is very bad but a new coat of paint and new rugs and such would help the look. Also, this time, our dietary requirements, although stated very clearly when ordering food, was not taken into account at the delivery of the food, twice! My experience 4 years ago was better but still, it's a nice hotel.
Everything was great, nice view, good service. Great value for the price. The only drawback was the fact that hotel is situated a bit far from main tourists places.
The view of the mountains. The beds were surprisingly uncomfortable. Including the sofa bed. I think that the quality of mattress and beds can improve.
The view of the Swiss Alpes, no other town has the visibility of so many mountains In November there is still no snow so you will need to go to the 3000 glacier which is about 100 francs just to get there.
The room was spacious, the furniture not too old and in very good condition. Quiet location. Nice and clean bathroom including a hairdryer that can be used also for long hair without taking ages to dry my hair.
Spacious, clean apartment, well fitted kitchen, underground parking, didn't have to check out until 1800. Quite far from the main lifts in resort.
the good deal with the price, nice apartment and clean bed sheets, the place was very cold when we arrived
- Customer oriented staff. They really went out of their way to please the customer. - An in-room kitchen with young kids is a major bonus. - Fast service - The staff brought us a baby crib right away. - Covered parking - Pullout bed (fouton) not very comfortable for 4 person room
The apartments are ideal for families or groups. Well equipped and comfortably appointed. Beautiful views. The specific apartment we used was not ideal for small children as the upstairs bedroom is up a very steep set of stairs.
It is very comfortable, there is the kitchen.Very nice wiew.
The mountain views were wonderful. Very nice town in the Alps.
very quiet and nicely situeted hotel .nice view on the mountains.. the SPA was "out of order"
Nice hotel, comfortable and clean, friendly staff, good cuisine. Good 4 stars hotel, but too high location (difficult to walk) and problems with parking. To stay there was nice, to leave and come back - was the problem, the hotel for to overnight or for skying may be(we were at summer time).
The food was amazing! Very friendly staff
bien. a besoin de rénovation; the dining room has a "mexican decor" not adequate for this region of the world; the mexican music during the breakfast; waiting time at the reception to check out; the hotel did not have our Reservation - we were lucky there was a room available.
The view was amazing. By far the best hotel in an amazing area filled with other beautiful hotels. Very romantic and refreshing. Food was great too
Flexible and charming team. Great food in the restaurant, including the breakfast buffet. Very clean rooms and well kept surroundings. Flat pathetic pillows and inspite of turning all visible heating equipment off, the room kept heating up in the night. Very good for winters, I'm sure, but not otherwise. Horrible coffee, dispensed by a machine, which is fine, but the beans were burnt. Change the beans.
The chalet has an amazing view and the staff were friendly. It was worth the extra money to have the chalet room as it was much larger and airier for not alot extra. Our children had a standard room which was very nice but a little small and dark. We all loved sitting in the spa with the snowy alps in the distance. It is not possible to walk to the shops and restaurants in Leysin. It is a bit out of the way. But great if you want quiet.
Location is stunning. Staff very friendly, food at breakfast and evening meal was excellent. None really, although the bathroom was a little darkly-lit.
The view - fantastic. Excellent breakfast - and taken on a lovely terrace. Spacious chalet room. Uncomfortable bed with horrible duvet covers. Cracked sink
I needed a filled ice bucket with two wine glasses, which were not in the room. I went down to the bar in the hotel & the staff were so helpful! They brought everything directly to my room. Nice & friendly service staff! & the view is absolutely incredible from the balcony! The hotel is an older establishment, and the rooms are very small, but I think this is the best value for for money in Leysin where there are not so many hotels!
A beautiful old (1875) hotel, with lots of charm and character, and a great welcome. The owner has done a wonderful renovating job, and shares his love for this valley with his guests. An excellent place for a quiet retreat in the mountains.
We felt that the hotel was ours. The owner treated us very friendly. He allowed us to use the back yard to make our own barbeque. He even participated in the event by making a special salad with fresh vegetables from his garden. Generally, we felt like we were home.
New and clean room, friendly owner, calm and cozy athmosphere, no set breakfast or check-out time so you do not need to hurry in the morning. None
Boss is always around and it is the hobby of his liftime to see all guest to feel well
Beautiful situation and scenery. A lot of charm for this old and authentic mountain hotel . Staff very nice, and easy going, Very elegant sitting and dining rooms . Good music and movies. The bedrooms are not yet restored but it's ok.
A lonely standing hotel, but not far from the Centre, with its own lonely train stop. Nice reception, beautiful view on the Mountains. Very tasteful decoration.
The atmospere at Hotel du Pillon is like being at home, but without the hassle of having to do anything oneself. The first class 'ambiance' is partly due to the extremely friendly 'acceuil' of the owner.
Friendly atmosphere. Helpful staff. Beautiful view. Nice rooms that are well insulated! The hotel is rather a distance from the town which can be difficult in the winter if you have no car with the ice. Saying that we walked up the road every morning and night with little problem, so even though a car is helpful its not essential. Plus the view makes up for the distance!
Value for money. Francis, the owner was fantastic. the staff were exceptionally helpful. bid goodbye with a heavy heart, thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. great view of the mountain first thing in the morning.
Excellent No en-suite but I'm being picky
Nice room and bath;. Newly remodeled rooms. Pet friendly. Plenty of onsite parking. Most staff speaks English or limited English. Although visiting in summer, noticed ski runs are nearby (5-10 minute drive). A sitting room with a fireplace on the second floor would be a nice place to relax after a day of skiing. Would recommend the hotel primarily due to the location; the drive thru the countryside is lovely and worth experiencing. However, because it is so expensive, would not return again and probably would not recommend the hotel to others unless they knew it would be a very expensive visit. Extremely expensive room, food, drink. Very costly dinner. Menu only in French (no other translations). The room price included breakfast, but for the prices charged, more substantial breakfast choices should be provided. Breakfast is brought to your table and extremely limited (small processed cheese, cube of guyres cheese, small juice, processed yogurt cup, coffee, breads). No fruit, meats, other cheeses, egg, cereal. If another restaurant is open with less expensive prices, go there instead. Due to high prices, not a place for a large family. No fan in room; to cool off the room, had to open windows which meant a lot of road noise until midnight.
The room was clean and modern. Included continental breakfast was really very good - clasic Swiss style - breads, cheese, fruits were very high quality. It is everything I hoped it would be.
Very peaceful and pleasant - staff very freinedly and helpful. Bar separate to hotel - not fitting to suroundings.
very nice people! we only been one night, but it was ideal for our purposes!
Very friendly helpful staff ; lovely views, central location, well furnished room - much nicer than expected !
Friendly staff, free WI-FI, good location and price.
Centre of the town. best hotel in doex
convenient setting and pleasant room
Friendly and helpfull staff. Nice rooms and breakfast. Great location in the village.
The staff were very friendly and helpful
Manager was helpful, good mountain views from room, sufficient parking beside hotel, room was clean and adequate continental breakfast. Hotel in need of an update and our room was also in need of new carpet.
silent, beautiful village in the mountains excellent for tourists, who spend only the night in the hotel breakfast
Very helpful friendly staff, quiet place, nice bedroom.
breakfast dinner not available
Good hotel for the active person who only uses a hotel to sleep at night and have breakfast.
The owner was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, very large, and was reasonably priced. We really liked the Hotel La Tour d'Ai and would certainly recommend it to our friends. No.
Good position, possibility to go to the mountain or other intersting sites, quite place, warming welcome.
Nice view over mountains. A bit isolated but silent and calm location. Cold at night.
Central location, comfortable and friendly staff.
Nothing Hotel in need of updating and staff need course in customer relations
Centrally located, friendly and welcoming staff.
i liked everything! the hotel has been renovated in a 'mountain' but very modern style, my room was huge, did not experience such a good 'value for money' hotel in a looooong time! the owners and the staff are delightful!...location in the middle of the village is perfect. rated 10/10!!! ahahahahahah.......we had some 'strange relation' with the door code, for some reason we were not able to open the door with the code!! while demonstration by the owner was always successful!...happily though did not have to use it because the hotel was still opened when we were coming back at night!
Nicely furnished and comfortable room Bathing room in general nice, but Shower needs some improvments
Charming and helpful hosts, good, quiet location and good value.
Very helpful and welcoming hotelier no
very friendly and helpful. would stay again
Excellent friendly service - with dedicated local knowledge of terrain and services. Resort can be quiet - but thats a good thing also.
The hotel staff were very accommodating.Great for those who love mountains, skiing walking etc. Breakfast included. Not a huge variety but substantial.Chateau d'oex famous for it's balloon festival. Train running through the valley links all the resorts . The hotel was absolutely fine for the purpose we wanted.
beautiful dining room with adequate breakfast. discount for cash. convenient location it was way overpriced. wanted double bed but got twins
We were the only guests there as it was pre Christmas/New Year lull. The Hotel Manageress was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were basic but warm, clean and comfortable. The views were breathtaking and the breakfast was excellent. There were no facilities such as a lounge, bar or restaurant which was fine for a short stay as it encouraged us to explore the village but would not be acceptable for longer stays. Presumably the bar would be open when full.
room was fine, bathroom quite small though.....great views from room...breakfast very good 4th floor room...no elevator...
Great location for ballooning festival, could not be closer. Did the job for a two night stay very well. Sadly to say the two twin beds in our room very uncomfortable (big dips) which is why as much as we liked the hotel we would not stay there again. Shame - everything else hit the spot, but beds are very important to the overall enjoyment of a weekend way!
Everything was well organized in the hotel, maybe too organized. During breakfast even the seats per room where planned. You were not allowed to sit on a table you have chosen yourself.
We only stayed overnight but had a very good impression - the room the gave us rather big - more like a tiny studio, with a small sitting area, a small dining table and chairs, and mind you, sturdy beds! When we went down for breakfast, the lady at the reception was very pleasant. Continental breakfast but quite a number of choices. The bathroom was quite small though clean.
Central location so no need to hire a car. Great internet access so you can keep emails up to date. Nice breakfast facilities. Stunning views of village and mountains. Staff very helpful and always smiling. They had the country flags of the guests flying and we were very happy to see the Irish flag on our arrival. Thats a nice thoughtful touch. Showers could do with upgrading.
Nice staff, good continental breakfast
A very cosy BB a bit outside of town. The (continental) breakfast was really good. The family running the BB was friendly. Highly recommended if you don't mind walking 10-15 minutes to town.
The quite situation before the green mountain panorama. A very quite place to make a holiday road stage or to pass a "green week-end". Some good typical restaurants in the village.
Beautiful view and area around the "hotel". The owners of the hotel were very kind and accommodating. Bad directions. The hotel is quite far from Aigle and is difficult to find since the roads are not well marked on mountain top. Make sure to bring a good map. The "hotel" is just a house with three rooms to rent on the bottom floor so we could hear the owners walking around at night. Breakfast was very good but basic.
avoid noisy rooms far from center. Poor breakfast no english spoken
surrounding, friendliness of the staff and valuable information provided
Nice room, very good breakfast, friendly people
Competitive price, calm location, great view, relaxed atmosphere
Nice view to te mountains from the terrace of the room, clean and quiet place. Check in only after 5pm. Breakfast limited.
Magnificent location ,
The atmosphere was relaxed and the owner was hands on but very relaxed and let you feel at home. No complaints.
It was very clean and well presented. For a holiday it would be a good place to stay. I stayed here on a business trip. As such it was not suitable. There was no "in room" drinks facility (until I asked for it) and there were no soaps or shower gels. Luckily I had a soap from another hotel. Finally, as I was the only guest the heating was on low and I was very cold at night.
Pretty views No sheets!! No clean towels every day or on any day. The table in the room was old plastic with a dirty cloth covering. One small towel per person for the entire 4 day stay. The mattresses were hard as rocks! Breakfast buffet was awful. The buffet featured corn flakes, muesli, yougurt, chocolate corn flakes, milk, bread, tea or coffee every day. Never fresh fruit, or fresh juice; The wireless internet does not work and the management did not care to repair it. The furniture in the living and general areas was very old and in need of replacement. There was no sauna as advertised unless you walked to another facility and advised them in advance .
The friendly feel and standard of the rooms. Friendly accomodating staff who were very keen to ensure we had a good stay The bill was a 100 gbp more than was quoted on your site which was not expected. We are still puzzled at this but felt we had to pay it as we did not speak enough French to understand why this had happened - so this was disappointing
Charming chalet. Room very comfortable and warm. Warm welcome on a daily basis. Good location close to ski lifts and a short walk into the village.
Beautiful setting, wonderful, helpful staff, very clean. I think this was an excellent value, particularly based upon rates at other comparable facilities in the area.
The great view of the swiss alps from the bedroom window and friendly and helpful staff
Comfortable room, reasonably close to lifts. Exorbitant credit card charge, no curtain on bathroom window, never anyone at reception, no soaps/shower gel in bathroom. Should not be classified as a hotel when it is a bed and breakfast.
Good views. Kind host. Big room. Free WIFI.
The hospitality, it feels like beeing at home. very comfortable. price is a bit high
Located in a lovely position, with confortable and clean room. Nice and friendly staff available at any time. The wireless well up and running. Breakfast needs to be improved: to cover a range of sliced ham, salami..(not only cheese) some fruit and eggs.
very warm welcome - great room (with adjoining room for our 13yr old that worked very well) with huge balcony and incomparable views of the mountains. Great to take breakfast back to the balcony to enjoy the sun and views in comfort. Use of kitchen & dining room meant we could suit ourselves re eating in/out. Would stay again
Warm fabulous hosts, superb room - comfortable, warm, and great view. Excellent location, yummy breakfast. Glorious!!!! Absolutely nothing
Rooms are basic, warm and tidy. Some rooms have terrace where you can see Alps mountains. Owner is friendly, as well as her two dogs. Recommend for young people with low budget.
Lovely hotel, and lovely owners could not be more helpful
Owner was amazing and very nice. Great food and room was pretty nice. The location is a bit out of the way and a little difficult to get to, but well worth it once you get there.
The hospitality and the views. Somewhat difficult to find.
Nice hotel, pleasant stay.
Living the dream review: The best value for money near Montreux. Great beds and showers. Videos and kitchen facilities great. And the view from the window after snowing the whole night- awesome. The free coffee and juice is great. Breakfast is included and includes Porriage, bread, cheese, ham, waffles, spreads, jogurt. Hourly trains from Aigle to Leysin with good connections to Montreux, Geneva, Visp If you want luxury not the place to go, but if you are laidback and want to cook your own meals this place is for you
Very friendly atmosphere - guests made to feel very welcome. Owners can provide lots of information about the area and its attractions. Very good breakfast provided. There is a well equipped kitchen for guests who do not want to eat out in the village None
The house is so beautiful that we like it very much! And the hostess is very kind~~The breakfast is rich. The dogs are lovely~ When we arrived there is no person in the house despite two dogs,we had to wait for half an hour......And the traffic is not so convenient...
Charming beautiful authentic warm and welcoming peaceful superb hotel. Call Les Diablerets Ski resort management and ask if they have bothered to use snow machines to create and groom pistes, mark them and sign them properly like they do in France. So far they haven'T.
The friendly and helpful attitude of the owner and staff.
The staff were extremely friendly and very obliging. They made my stay even more enjoyable. The beds are a little on the small side
We liked almost every aspect of "Auberge de la poste. Excellent staff, friendly and professional. The stairs are not suited for people with knee- or hipproblems. No lift The rooms are very nice, but not suitable for tall people, they could easyly "collide " with the ceiling
very child friendly rooms a bit spartan, pillows very uncomfortable
Riverside location, comfy bed Room a bit small
Hotel is very comfortable but not luxurious. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were simple but good and, on the whole food, was excellent. A great place for a hiking holiday. A bath would have been nice since we did a lot of hiking- but this is probably too much to ask from this sort of hotel!
Some one once told me if you don't have anything good to say don't say anything at all....
Friendly staff, good location, clean rooms, practical for families poor noise insulation, quite expensive for what it is
That our table for breakfast was reserved for us in the morning with a little notecard with our names!
The location to Glacier 3000 was fantastic. The hotel staff gave us a hard time about having bought beer and drinking it on the hotels minature golf course.
Friendly staff Poor standard of maintenance. Reception closed all night from early evening.
