Pros: location, but parkng was a little complicated so definitely follow instructions from owner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic stay from the warm welcome by our host, Carole, to the comfortable and quirky room and clean and modern bathroom. Although parking is not straight forward, a public car park is within a very easy walking distance, even with cases over the cobbles, and the parking charge of 32 Euros for two nights was acceptable. The location is right in the middle of the old part of Chartres and close to outstanding restaurants. Congratulations Carole and thank you - this was the highlight of our holiday and was a wonderful way to end our adventure in France. We hope to stay again!
Cons: Absolutely nothing.

Sitting room downstairs for guests with coffee, tea, and bottled water. Host lives upstairs and we breakfasted in her bright kitchen with fresh bread from the neighborhood bakery.
Cons: Nothing! We felt like we were staying in a friend's home who had thought of everything to make us comfortable. For those with mobility issues, there is no elevator and rooms are upstairs. Public parking a few blocks away.

Pros: We stayed for a few nights at the end of a 'planes, trains and automobiles' trip around three EU countries. We picked Chartres to relax before heading back to work. The weekend we were there (first weekend in June) the town was buzzing with people and activities. Tip: book restaurants in advance! And there are many good ones. We loved La Rosace, it was beautifully designed, with a garden to relax in after a night out, great breakfasts, lovely hostess. A little bit of heaven at the end of a great European trip. Oh and it's within walking distance of the train station - even for backpackers like us. And 10 minutes from the center of town.

Pros: Stylish and friendly hotel in a superb location
Cons: We liked everything
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing hotel restaurant with incredible food. Location and view perfect. Watched the Chartres Illuminations from our bathroom!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The speed of which the night manager called the ambulance to treat our friend who was suffering from heat exhaustion after two days of 43C heat.
Cons: The fact that not one person from the hotel, not even on check out, asked after the well being of my friend. She was take to hospital at 3am and returned at 5am.
7.5 Good
Pros: The evening bar had character, service was good. The Rhum Baba was impressive! The breakfast was good, and the breakfast room nice.
Cons: Room decor slightly dated.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The staff could not have been more helpful - getting my car which was parked nearby when I checked in, giving directions, pointing our the light show of summer, which turned out to be spectacular..
Cons: It's an old building and a bit faded in part. Not enough plugs for charging all the things we need to charge these days, but that is common in older hotels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just fabulous.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Reception staff were the best I have ever come across. The Breakfast was fantastic.
Cons: The room was disappointing compared to last year, it was noisy as the bathroom extract duct which went to outside, picked up the noise from the local Bar were a Saturday night party was going on although that did stop around mid night. The toilet had a leak which meant the floor was wet each time we had to go in there but we were only staying the one night so didn't both to say anything until we checked out. But we would stay again as overall it is excellent value for money
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was ideally located close to the cathedral hub of the city and also to a choice of two very excellent car parks. The building itself had a period charm from the exterior but with some astute makeover design both structurally and decoratively the interior had a pleasant contemporary feel. The staff from reception and from within the restaurant were polite, friendly and efficient throughout our stay and the food served up was to a good standard.
Cons: The bathroom was cleverly designed except for the fact that the space allocated to the toilet was unacceptably minimal. It was slightly irritating that some of the channels listed in the booklet were not available (namely Eurosport).
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A great stay and location. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was so comfortable, quiet, and clean
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and very welcoming staff. Comfortable bed.
Cons: The only thing is the swimming pool is very small and crowded. You cannot swim in it as it is too small. It is more of a spa bath. You also have to pay €15 for the privilege of bobbing around with a lot of other people. There were no chairs available when we went. The photograph of the pool looks so inviting, but it is not. The roon is also very small. No room for a suitcase or a yoga session on the floor.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location and easy to travel with family with young children
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The suite was lovely, spacious and beautifuly designed. The location was absolutely perfect, walking distance to the cathedral and to the center.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great host and location. The rooms are clean and with lots of character, it is an old building after all. Host was friendly and very helpful, and the assistant there was charming. The hotel is located across the street from Chartres Cathedral, literally. Photos that were added are taken from our room window. Easy access for the evening light show in the summer (which you should go to) and visiting the city of Chartres. Parking is not on site, but our host has a parking permit for a very nearby garage that worked perfectly. Breakfast in the morning was hearty and plentiful. Highly recommended, would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Everything was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is right beside the Cathedral. Our room had a double aspect - one side looking onto the Cathedral, the other to the front of the hotel. The room was actually a suite, with a separate sitting room. It was well appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast was the best we have had on our holiday so far. Freshly squeezed orange juice. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. From the arrival procedure, being directed to the car park, helpfully pointing out where to go etc. They also put our ice blocks in the freezer overnight. The hotel has an arrangement with a local underground car park, so guests (us anyway) parked for free. It is easy to drop luggage off at the hotel, park the car, and walk five minutes back to the hotel. Chartres is a gem of a city, and this is a great hotel to stay in to visit it.
Cons: Nothing. All good.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, traditional room. Excellent breakfast. Our 3rd visit and I’m sure we will return. Accessibility to Cathedral and the many other sites of Chartres.
Cons: Nothing
5.6 Okay
Pros: Great location, excellent room, very good breakfast, value for money. But see below.
Cons: We booked a room for the night of 16 December 2010. We went out to dinner in the evening. When we returned, at about 9.30pm, the hotel was locked and there was nobody there. It transpired that we were the only residents and the staff had left for the night. It was raining very hard and extremely cold. After much banging at the front door, which was fruitless, we went to a neighbouring restaurant. An extremely pleasant young man there (at Le Bistrot de la Cathedrale) contacted the Parvis staff who told him we should use our room key. Long story short, the key did not work. Finally the staff member turned up and let us in, acknowledging that it was the front door lock which did not work. It was by now sub-zero temperature. Not happy.
7.7 Good
Pros: Very Individually French - lovely warm atmosphere - many unique features - very comfprtable - excellent breakfast - other good restaurants very close
7.0 Good
Pros: It has character, charm and perfect location
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel... Nothing to much trouble.. Everything worked ...loads of hot water ..good position.. Good food.. Owner was away his mother made us feel very welcome and at home...
Cons: None
6.3 Good
Pros: We stayed for two nights with a view to visiting the cathedral and old town at our leisure, so the location was ideal. The hotel is of interesting character, where uneven floors and doors which don't quite fit properly are all part of its quirky charm. Our room, Les Louis, was warm and comfortable, with a novel shower and a surprise kitchenette in a cupboard. Internet access was fine. We were given a friendly reception by the proprietor, and we enjoyed reasonably priced, unpretentious meals on both evenings. A plentiful, traditional breakfast was served.
Cons: On arrival, we had to unblock the sink in the bathroom. The lighting was dim, making it difficult to read. Not the hotel's fault, but parking is at a premium in Chartres. We could possibly have used the nearby underground car-park, at the hotel's expense, but chose not to risk it because of our vehicle's height. Luckily, we found a space just outside, but feeding the meter was not cheap.
6.7 Good
Pros: Excellent location, small and friendly hotel
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent friendly staff. Lovely location right in the centre of Chartres old town. Great breakfast and evening meal also. Parking permit is given for parking.
Cons: Car park is a walk away but it is definately worth the short 3 minute walk.
6.8 Good
Pros: Quirky hotel but really good. Great central Chartres location. Great room. Excellent food, we had lunch, dinner & breakfast.
Cons: Parking is an issue but definitely worth the hassle for the location.
7.6 Good
Pros: Excellent staff and management.
Cons:
6.0 Good

Pros: The stay offered us much rest after a 7 hours drive from the south coast. We were met by the wonderful host who could not do enough for you (even warmed up our Chinese food we bought from the restaurant - did not know they served it cold). We had a relaxing swim in the pool, before finishing off with a drink & food n the lawn. This property really needs to be seen, amazing with it's old quirky room and halls. The breakfast was excellent (continental). Location wise it was only 10 minute from the motorway, but VERY quiet.

Cons: There is separate aircondition machine in the room which is very very noisy and unefficient. Our room temperature was just ok due the window shutters, not aircondition machine. Breakfast was in the beatiful room and set-up was beatiful, but content was quite basic. With the price paid, you would expect some extra. overall we were happy and this is certainly uniq, but quite pricy place.

Pros: The Cherville B&B is part of a working farm. Although there was no obvious farm activity while we were there, it was interesting to discuss local farming activity with the host and learn more about what we were seeing in the fields as we drove through the countryside. She was very personable and offered good advice on local restaurants and shops. The room was clean, comfortable and with ample space. Wifi worked well. Quite adequate for our overnight stay and very good value.
Cons: B&B could use a sign out front. Our GPS took us to the right place, but we didn't initially recognize that there was a B&B there. It is part of a working farm. There were three other couples there - all participating in local weddings. We were the only foreigners at the breakfast table so didn't really fit in conversation. Breakfast was good, not elaborate, and could have used a protein addition.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Warm stay, very friendly owner Caroline, tips for a lovely dinner and light festival at night in Chartres only 20 min. away. Nice and relaxed breakfast next morning. The room and facilities are very comfortable and clean. We will be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, absolutely fantastic, great to stay on a working farm! excellent hosts
Cons: I can't think of anything
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice, clean room in a beautiful old farmhouse. Lovely host with great language skills in English. Also the breakfast was very good!
Cons: The room was very noisy, we could litteraly hear our neighbours talk. Our room and our neighbours’ room were seperated via 1 closetdoor. Also the bathroom was not very practical, we had to sit in the bath to shower (the ceiling is too low to be able to stand up straight if you’re taller than 1,75m.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation offered far more than a single b and b usually does - there was a separate living area containing a kitchenette - very handy for preparing small snacks and drinks. The location was charming and peaceful, and the host extremely kind and attentive.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lot of space. Hospitality. Very quiet place for good sleep. Real farm in the heart of France. Good bathroom, bed. Warm and cosy place.

Pros: This is a great place to say near the centre of Charte’. There is independent access to the rooms from the outside. Furthermore, there is separate outside places to sit and eat in the garden. The rooms are really good. The stay is suitable for ambient disabled guests too, especially the front room. The hostess is so lovely and accommodating and the breakfast is a good and is, as expected continental. The are is within a large modern housing area, with a decent shopping precinct very close to the property. One could a-liken it to a ‘French Milton Keynes, which very well laid out, with humorous community facilities.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was small but had all the facilities you would ask for, although the kitchen was shared with the other room's visitors. Breakfast had a very good selection of breads/jams etc - homemade in most cases
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this accommodation was friendly, comfortable and clean.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It was quite and interesting place to stay.
Cons: The steps at the rear of the house were difficult with no hand rail. Also it would have been difficult for disable people, it fact impossible to access. Breakfast of brioche was too sweet and not good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely people, a wonderful breakfast and the facilities and location suited our needs completely. It was a very relaxed and friendly space.

Pros: Our host was lovely and even gave us a lift to the cathedral. Accommodation was delightful and comfortable. Breakfast plentiful and tasty.

Pros: -free parking -clean room
Cons: The breakfast didn’t have a great variety of food; most of the forks, spoons and mugs were dirty
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good indeed. The location was excellent for access, being close to the Chartres by-pass. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance. We went to the O'Relais (100 metres away) and it was a super experience. Eat as much as you like for 18.90 euros. Tender steak grilled in front of you. Wine by the pichet. Room and shower room were large and well-appointed. Our first experience of an Ace Hotel and an amazing find for the price.
Cons: Nothing really, it exceeded our expectations on all counts (and we have experience of many chain hotels, travelling around France).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy bed and good shower
Cons: Check in was rather slow
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great stay. Staff very friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English. Room comfortable and clean. Breakfast was more than adequate. Secure parking. Choice of local eateries. Only issue was that the fire alarm went off just as I was going to sleep which I guess was some idiot smoking in their room which isn’t the hotels fault.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A comfortable stop off point after a long drive. Good facilities including parking for a budget price. About a 20 minute walk into the centre of Chartres. Room was clean and comfy and staff friendly and helpful.

Overview Reviews
A stay at Le Clos Chedeville places you in the heart of Chartres, within a 15-minute walk of Chartres Cathedral and Fine Arts Museum of Chartres. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location - very handy for walking into town but felt like you were out in the countryside, with lots of trees and birds etc, set back from the road so no passing traffic noise. Friendly host. Large, comfortable bed and nice-quality linen, spacious bedroom. Powerful shower, plenty of thick towels in bathroom. Well equipped - tea and coffee making facilities, small fridge, microwave, cutlery, glasses and plates provided. More tea and bottled water provided when requested. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, with croissants, bread and jam, yoghurt, dried fruit and nuts. Interestingly furnished with a mix of 'antiques'. Plenty of parking and the owner kindly let us leave the car after check out while we walked into town.
Cons: The room was not quite ready even though we arrived during the allotted time. The room was not refreshed on the second day and we had to ask for more tea bags and water, and for washing up to be done (see below). A note in the room asked us not to wash up in the (very small) sink but dirty crockery was not taken away. Only one bottle of water provided at a time, one each would be better. Quite a few cobwebs - especially in the toilet! With a little bit more attention to detail, this could be a top-notch accommodation.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, only 10-15 min walk to the city center. The home was extraordinary, very stylish with nice garden, singing birds and great breakfast. Special thanks to the owner who was very welcoming and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An oasis of calm on the edge of the city easily accessible with good safe parking, only a short walk to the city centre. Welcoming and hospitable host, excellent breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very good B&B close to center of Chartre. Walking time to Cathedral about 10 min. The hotel has big own territory, so it is very calm and silent place. There is enough parking space as well. Our room had separate entrance from the garden, which was very convenient.
Cons: Breakfast was bit basic (bread-butter-croisants-jam), but it is typical for France.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property is a peaceful haven in very close proximity to the city and it’s awe inspiring Cathedral. No more than 10 minutes walk. The welcome at Le Clos Chedeville was warm and the breakfast delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to town, but quiet and lovely grounds. Tasty breakfast, gracious hosts.
Cons: No improvements suggested. All was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A charming oasis in the midst of busy Chartres! Le Clos Chedeville was like being invited to a friends home: a beautiful, old residence in a magic garden. The breakfast was beautiful and delightful. It was the best BnB experience I've ever had - charming!
Cons: It was a bit hard to find. The signage is small and on the gate. Everything else was wonderful!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good bread at breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place and made very well. Enjoyed a drink in the garden with the ducks birds and fish. Breakfast delicious. Only 5-10mins walk to cathedral.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: It would have been helpful to tell us only cash was accepted in payment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room and the location was quaint and typical of a B&B that you would think of as being a B&B! The room was very clean and neat and the dining room was beautifully laid out with art pieces. The presentation of the plates and table were wonderful and the breakfast, warm croissants and homemade jams were great.
Cons: The weather was rainy...but that had nothing to do with the accommodation!

Cons: Breakfast was not great. Bread, coffee and croissants quitegood. But scrambled eggs were cold and tasted very odd.

Cons: nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant stay. Had everything we needed for a single night. Nice quiet location
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Limited eating establishments within walking distance, I should have done more research!
6.8 Good
Pros: Hotel was modern and clean. Staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: Location. Hotel was a long way out of town (further than I had realised) and not particularly easy to find, even with a satnav. (The rue Blaise Pascal is unevenly divided by a bigger road and the hotel - looking just like another industrial unit on this utilitarian estate - was to the stub on the right. However the satnav - programmed with the exact address as advertised - said "left"; simple signage at the cross-roads would help with this.) No half-decent restaurants near-by; American "fast-food" available about a mile away. Had to drive into town centre for a French meal.
7.5 Good
Pros: Rooms were clean and aired with air conditioning. Communication was good. Breakfast Buffet selection was fresh and good.
Cons: Handicapped toilet not up to regulation standard and cluttered. Receptionist unable to refund after paying for drinks which were not available. Soap dispensers in room and lobby toilet were empty. No expresso coffee available from drinks machine.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Easy check in. Compact room but very comfortable beds. Quiet location a drive from Chartres centre. Good value breakfast.
Cons: Would be useful to know in advance to bring soap for the sink. Tricky to keep all the water in the shower! A hand towel for the basin would be useful.

Pros: We only stayed for one evening but everything met our needs.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Chartres is a lovely place and this hotel is only minutes away from great restaurants, the “ Illuminations” and opposite the train station. Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was a highlight with plenty of choice. Great stay!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Super nice staff (if a bit understaffed and having to attend to several tasks at the same time, including overseeing breakfast while checking guests out and taking reservations. Must be really inconvenient for them despite their best efforts)
Cons: As usual in hotels not enough room around the bathroom sink to put your things.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, nicely decorated comfortable rooms, helpful staff, great breakfast, and parking on site. Perfect.
10.0 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded for free on arrival, nice touch. Location is excellent and dogs are welcome.

7.5 Good
Pros: The bathroom was very spacious.
Cons: The room itself could have been a little larger.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location of the hotel was excellent and so also the staff in the breakfast room.
Cons: We had explicetly asked for a room with bathtub, six monts in advance, yet on arrival there was none. When we asked how this was possible the answer was rather indifferently “ o, we most have forgotten that”. Unacceptable, certainly with that attitude on top.....Notting was done to find a solution not even the slightest compensation. Bad, bad!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable and well designed with good storage space. Breakfast had good choice to suit most tastes. Easy to stop outside to drop off bags and the secure public car park was very close by. Hotel is very central - 5 mins walk to cathedral and lots of nice restaurants. Chartres is a very lovely pace to stay.
Cons: toilet and bathroom were separate so would have liked hand basin in toilet. Also there should be a power socket close to the dressing mirror so that you can dry and style hair .... it would have been nice to see what I was doing!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is in the centre, very elegant. Good breakfast. It's a pity we stayed for only 1 night.
Cons: The hotel parking is only reserved to reduce mobility people. We parked in underground parking, "Coeur de Ville" at about 50m of the hotel, Under the Place des Epars.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Best position to visit the town
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff pleasant and helpful Convenient location and quiet room overlooking courtyard
Cons: paper cups for morning tea
7.5 Good
Pros: Location very good for Chartres Cathedral but t he lack of any convenient parking was a drawback. The breakfast was good except for having to cook my own eggs. The waitress on the day whose name I don't know was charming
Cons: Parking
