The bed was comfortable and the bedding was very clean and well presented. The surroundings / views were good It advertised a restuarant - which was necessary as it is remote but the restuarant is closed on Mondays therefore we were unable to eat that day - the room had such a low ceiling I had to crawl into bed and the shower and toilet was cramped and not well maintained
The Hostellerie is charming, and the Lesponne valley is spectacular. Our room was in the main lodge, and was very comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful. There were a few things that made it less than perfect, though. They keep horses and donkeys across the road from the lodge, and we had to keep our screen-less window open because of the heat, so we had lots of very annoying flies in the room all night long. We also were disturbed to see the young woman handling the horses and mules repeatedly hitting them -- hard and angrily -- and yelling at them. I work with horses and know this is bad human behaviour. It gave us a sour feeling about the place. The Hostellerie is a family place, so there are kids running around, yelling, screaming, doing kid things that, if you're there for a romantic get-away, would be disturbing, as well.
'Country' feeling, by a river, with great view of mountains - but actually only 2 minutes from the town center with restaurants, casino, and thermal spas. Only caveat is that you have to want to go to the town in the first place - it is an out-of-the-way picturesque thermal spa and ski center village in the mountains.
Very clean, comfortable and well equipped, easy parking, close to town centre .Comfortable bed with good bedding and an interesting themed decor.Lovely garden and courtyard for sitting out Very friendly and helpful owner, very good value for the cost. Would happily stay here again. Everything was perfect, so no, nothing to mention.
Quirky furnishing in the rooms, useful sink / cooker unit for self catering. Excellent location for Aquensis Spa and the casino - a few minutes walk away. A few restuarants within easy walking distance into town. Main focus of the place seems to be semi-medical, with emphasis on physio and alternative medicine treatments in the adjacent Thermal baths. Very friendly but distinctly quirky. Little English spoken.
Upgrade to an efficiency unit rather than a guest room. Location above the bustle of the city. Thermal baths, spa,etc that we did not use but were available. Staff not present at check in time , Had a wait a rather long time to check-in. Staff spoke only French and no English.
Cooking facilities in room meant you could eat in if you wanted and could always prepare breakfasts.
Very welcoming staff. Proximity to town. Atmosphere a little institutional rather than luxury spa.
self catering facilities and relaxed atmosphere. Friendly propretier. a bit too relaxed with hotel staff, so wasn't always easy to get information. Sadly a lot of the facilities were shut over xmas period.
Hotel was clean and comfortable within walking distance of good restaurants. Very good location for sightseeing Hotel was clean but a bit clinical. Breakfast was extremely poor
A quiet place close to the mountains and Lourdes. The lady proprietor is charming and helpful . This is a base. Although there is an outdoor pool the village is ultra quiet whilst charming. Good VFM.
Owner was welcoming and there was a lovely pool available. Mix up over the booking meant the hotel was shut when we arrived waited 90 minutes before we could get an answer. Once owner turned up she was apologetic and made us welcome. Restaurant was shut and this meant a drive to Jullian 15km awway for the evening meal
