Pros: The room was very nicely presented, the hosts were very welcoming, even the cat Larry said hello. A very calm and peaceful place. The breakfast was worth every penny and highly recommended and presented beautifully on a tray outside - a perfect way to start the day. We cannot recommend this Gite highly enough and plan to revisit and hopefully for a longer stay. Bandine restaurant in Creances le Plage is worth a visit, very French and friendly too.
Pros: Nicely updated separate guest wing in an old country home of character. Beautiful natural setting. Rooms were spacious and nicely decorated; accommodations clean; kitchen well stocked. Hosts were friendly and helpful, but gave us our space. They brought fresh bread and pastry in the morning for breakfast.
Cons: The property was spacious, but spread over three floors. The stairs to the third floor bedroom were steep with a narrow tread, which could be a problem for some guests. A little difficult with luggage. The only bathroom is on the third floor, in the bedroom - not attached, but in. A wooden screen shields the facilities. Not a necessarily a problem, but guests need to know.

Pros: We loved our stay at Le Tertre. The area is beautiful and very calm, perfect for a walk through nature. The house and the garden are marvelous. The room itself is spacious and we liked that everything was color-coded :) The breakfast with homemade jams and yogurt was excellent! Thank you for the wonderful stay.
Pros: We loved this place -- it is one of the best places we have stayed during our many years of travelling in Europe. It was quiet, Chantal and Gerard were friendly and helpful, and the meals Chantal prepared at night were wonderful. Our room was spacious and so comfortable.

Each suite displays exposed beams and original stone walls, and is decorated in a contemporary style. Breakfast is served in the dining room, and you can enjoy it in the garden during summer. Fruit trees are planted in the enclosed garden. Simple homemade meals prepared with organic produce can be enjoyed in the evening, upon prior reservation. This property is 52 km from the city of Cherbourg and free private parking is available on site.
Pros: Great breakfast. Beautiful rooms that are tastefully decorated. The owner can prepare a great dinner.
Cons: The rooms are located in the house, split by the family’s living room. The owner doesn’t really make you feel like you are welcome to use it. We felt a bit awkward in their place throughout our stay.
Pros: Excellent breakfast and very helpful host.
Pros: Very remote and calm.
Pros: Excellence Hostess in Nathalie nothing was to much trouble. Food great

Pros: Jan gave us a very warm welcome, and was very accommodating. She explained what was available in the area, where to find it, and suggested a restaurant, Le Normandy, which was amazing. Although there are no facilities in the room, Jan is quite happy to make a cup of tea when required.
Cons: Fortunately we were the only guests, because there is only one bathroom. During the night my wife was poorly, which would have been hugely embarrassing, if other families had needed the bathroom. It would have been nice to include cereal for breakfast, but the croissants and french bread were good.
Pros: In the lovely countryside with lovely welcoming owner and nice fresh breakfast.
Pros: The area where the property is located is pretty and quiet. There were plenty of croissants, jams, ect... at breakfast The beds are very comfy, the rooms & bathroom very clean, the linen smell fresh.
Cons: You know from the start that it is a shared bathroom so don't choose this B&B if you want your own bathroom. Some might find the decor outdated but this is of no importance, it is very clean & comfy!
Pros: A quintessential French chateaux - cosy and old and full of character. Jan was a fantastic host, welcoming from the very start and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble, and even drove us to a nearby town as we were cycling so didn't have a car to head out for dinner. Really can't beat this on value for money, and the views from our room over the surrounding hills and meadows were just beautiful. Breakfast was a simple traditional French spread, croissants, coffee, jam and fresh baguettes, just what we needed to fuel our cycle for the day.
Pros: As I was without a car the owner was very kind to drive me into the village when needed, for which I paid her. Very helpful indeed.
Pros: Lovely breakfast in the morning. Clean shared bathroom which we had to ourselves!
Pros: Super friendly staff. Loved Jan. Very quiet & peaceful stay. Loved the homemade jams & croissants.
With a stay at Brit Hotel La Cote Des Havres in Lessay, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Lessay Raceway and Aerodrome and Corps de Garde of Saint-Germain-sur-Ay. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: A nice clean and comfortable hotel with secure and convenient parking. The restaurant was reasonably priced.
Cons: The staff were efficient and polite but not overly friendly, a smile costs nothing.
Pros: We took a family trip and booked three rooms based on the location and desciption on booking.com. It was as it was described ... thank goodness! We arrived after-hours but the process for check-in and obtaining the keys to our rooms was clearly explained. The staff was extremely helpful and most pleasant and spoke English well. The property was clean and located in a small town but accessible by car to beautiful Nomandie. Breakfast was included and had everything we wanted. There was also a nice seating area outside to enjoy the beautiful weather during our stay. Rooms were well appointed, the beds were comfortable and we loved the electronic blackout shades!! We highly recommend this property.
Cons: There is no elevator but there are only two floors .... so we were okay.
Pros: Nice rooms good breakfast
Cons: When we arrived the hotel was close. Ascension day in France. Why no warning about this from booking .com
8.4 Excellent (103 reviews)
See hotel page With hospitality, warmth, simplicity and charm, La Ferme des Mares, The Originals Relais is just like its owners, Mike and Sonia. Here at this former farm in Saint-Germain-sur-Ay, around thirty kilometres from Coutances, youll find 10 bespoke bedrooms, a restaurant serving local cuisine, and 2 reception rooms. For nature-lovers, or reunions between friends or family out in the Normandy countryside, this hotel is the stuff that dreams are made of.
Pros: Beautiful renovated farm - homey and spacious and lovely all at once
Cons: There are no shops / restaurants nearby, but the hotel offers delicious meals so it's not a problem
Pros: The beautifully styled dining room and the exquisite food and service
Pros: The owner gave us an excellent tip for a walk and a swim. The location was absolutely gorgeous. Roses. Quiet.
Cons: Maybe breakfast could include some fruit salad?
Pros: I want to say this was an old country house. Herds of sheep on the nearby marsh. Quiet little village. I would say a romantic inn, but I was with my daughter, and thus... Quaint, clean, nice, quiet, beautiful. I think it was in the middle of nowhere. We got an apartment? Two bedrooms each with a huge bed. Tub and sink in another room, toilet wc in another room, and a hallway to connect it all. The spaciousness was nice, but the quaintness? was what made this fantastic. Being in the US, I probably won't ever get to go back, but if I lived in Paris, I might make this an annual retreat with my wife. My 19 yo daughter loved the wildlife, and the livestock nearby. I didn't visit the beach that was nearby. I stayed here after visiting the Normandy beaches and prior going to Mont Saint Michel. It was perfect.
Cons: Sign in lobby says were are happy to greet our guests in both French and English. The clerk did not speak english, but my daughter who was with me spoke enough french. But don't let this deter you, another of the staff was a across the way, this clerk did go consult her about one question, who may have spoken fantastic english, but we managed. I wish this place was close to where I live so I could take my wife there.
Pros: Old converted farm buildings in a lovely rural setting. Very Spacious bedroom with sofa area.
Cons: Bathroom had a bath, but no overhead shower. Lack of choice on menu.
Pros: We had a fabulous stay at this hotel. The hosts were very friendly and offered us a free double upgrade which was very much appreciated. The room was huge and the bed was very comfy. The evening meal was absolutely delicious. It was a set menu and I am usually a fussy eater but I gave everything a try and really enjoyed it all. The hotel provides quiet and calm atmosphere; perfect for our romantic weekend away. We had a lovely stroll through the surrounding fields and enjoyed sitting by the lake, watching the ducks. Breakfast was also very nice, especially the freshly baked breads and croissants. Thank you very much.
Pros: Good value accommodation and wonderful food.
Cons: No complaints.
Pros: This is a beautiful hotel in a lovely location. Perfect for a getaway to chill and relax. Location is rural so all you can do is relax and unwind.
Pros: Really comfortable family room with two different bedrooms, big a clean bathroom unfortunately with the bath and no shower. Perfect for a family, well furnished and beautiful.
Cons: The restaurant place is cosy, but the food normal and ‘classic’ French (not linked to the Normandy territory), the service super super super slow (about 3 hours for a menu!)
Pros: The hotel has a nice restaurant. Good value for money.
Cons: The hotel advertises with a park of two acres. In reality there are only two small seating areas which are quite messy. The rest of the areas is used for other purposes. Like growing vegetables and dupping garbage.

Pros: The old building with genius loci, room nice styled/designed. Great breakfast, prepared by owner, possibility to buy home-made product.
Cons: Weak wifi connection
Pros: The pastries ,jams and bread were divine ,fresh from the bakery
Pros: Beautiful development of 6 properties. Short walk to the beach. Great for summer breaks, everything closes at the start of Sept so a bit remote. Lovely coastline and small towns to visit. Must be really active in the main season. Plenty of local markets and friendly locals. Good facilities in the property.
Pros: Everything was nice. The house was old house with charm and nice atmosphere. The host was a charming english lady. Breakfast was fine, parking before the house was assured. The village is rather quiet, whixh i liked very much, since I was tired. Unfortunately we didn't have time to eat out.
Pros: It was absolutely lovely, wonderful hosts, iam sorry that i never say thank you and bye ;( thank you for everything and sorry for not showing up for breakfast. Highly recommend!!!
Pros: Janine is a very welcome host. It feels like visiting a good friend. After our bike ride it was wonderful to have a cold beer in the lovely garden. We had a very good breakfast with fresh fruit.
Pros: A centuries-old building that certainly has loads of character and twisted beams - but as a result the floors are somewhat uneven! We had a friendly welcome from Jan, followed by a very welcome cup of tea. The guest sitting area and kitchenette with reading material etc. was a pleasant surprise. Our first night ever in a 4-poster bed, which was very comfortable.
Cons: The toilet in the en-suite bathroom was a little bit short on space - but I guess they weren't big into bathrooms in the 13th century!
Pros: The hostess was amazing, she really looked after us well and nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Cons: It's a shame the outside looks so tired. But this didn't dampen our visit at all.

Pros: Town centre location easy parking, food cooked on open fires which was superb
Cons: Communal toilet was clean and ok but I wul’t use the shower it wasn’t dirty but all the sealant was black (off putting)
Pros: Betty Oheix is a very nice lady!
Pros: It was a bargain! Cheap and cheerful!
Pros: Tremendous value! Charming location, charming town, very enjoyable restaurant on the location of the inn. I thoroughly recommend this place. Yes, the shared toilet is down the hall, and its not 5 star accommodations, but it is so worth it for the money we paid.
Cons: The hostess spoke English, but the rest of the employees didn't seem to very well. No problem, its all part of the joy of traveling in another country. Seriously, I recommend staying here.
Pros: Everything was great
Pros: Simple and clean. Lovely evening meal. Thank you.

Pros: very good
Cons: toilet and shower in second bedroom
