The Room Smelt Damp amd unpleasant
The staff was really amicable and helpful. When our child got sick during the night they helped us find a doctor and pointed us to an open pharmacie. The breakfast was a bit pricey and no cheaper alternative.
Furnishing of room was adequate and very cleqn and good size. It was near enough to points of interest; sights in the old town, preferred restaurants and marche. Private parking avaiable at decent price. Chateau de Challanges, ouside Beaune, was a much better value for the same price.
Great location, close to town and near restaurants, bars etc. Paying €7 for car park and bath very slippy - had to use a towel to stand on for fear of falling in bath.
Comfortable room, easy access to garage and secure parking so we did nit need to unload major suitcases
Excellent location and very clean hotel. Staff very friendly and breakfast was lovely. The beds were very comfortable. None
Quiet location but close to the centre of Auxerre. Breakfasts were substantial with a good choice. directions to the hotel were too vague and led to us and other guests we spoke to, getting lost in Auxerre
The hotel was really comfortable and attractive and the welcome by Cyril at the front desk and his ongoing help was outstanding. No
Very good service, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms.
no where to eat. room service only
Everything! THe pool was great! I liked everything, tho breakfast (which I didn't eat) could be a little less expensive.
Quality of the food and wine, courtesy of owners and staff, delightful breakfast. A little difficult to get from carparking area to front door with baggage.
Very friendly welcome from the owner - genuinely nice to our children - and very comfortable family room. Interesting gardens.
This is a first rate hotel located within a five minute walk from the town centre. The room was beautiful and the staff very courteous and helpful.
The location was good as a convenient one night stop over point from Calais to the South of France and they offered a Family Room for 2 adults and two children. It was somewhat confusing regarding the evening meal. They did not have a Restaurant as such but one could order a meal at Reception to be seved either in the Dining Room or on the Terrace or in one's own Room. The 'Waitress was a Trainee and that added to the confusion. Some guests were unaware of the procedure and waited in vain for a Menu at the table and failed to be acknoledged by the trainee waitress.
It was a perfect location with walking distance to the centre of Auxerre. The staff was helpfull and the room was quite big.
Very convenient for the town and easy to find. Parking on site and English speaking staff who were both friendly and helpful. Our room was very dark; dark furnishings and energy conserving light bulbs which, whilst admirable, meant that we had huge difficulty in finding our way round the room. Finding clothes in the wardrobes was nigh on impossible!
This hotel reeks of Napolionic History, just my style!
The hotel staff was very pleasant. The swimming pool was a wonderful fringe benefit at the end of a long and very hot day. There was too much furniture in the room (Superior).
Excellent breakfast. Lovely views from our room which was very comfortable.
Auxerre is worth the trip, historical monuments, fine food, nice country side and do not forget to visit the tourist bureau very close to the hotel, to expand your activities. Please write at least 15 words
Our first night in France and this hotel was part of the memory. Beautiful old hotel in gorgeous setting. Wonderful nighttime photo. Thank you.
It was surprisingly nice interior, ver well presented and comfortable. Internet access. Adequate buffet breakfast. When we initially saw the outside of the hotel, which is old, we were a little worried, however, we discovered later the exterior was in keeping with the history of the area. Parking at the rear for a fee. We had booked the hotel as a overnight stop only. However, we visited the tourist information centre about 50 metres down from Hotel at the suggestion of the receptionist. We did a free walking tour following "Cadet Roussel's" plaques set in the footpath and discovered very interesting facts about this interesting historical town. We drove out along the River Yonne and viewed the locks where to canal boats pass through. Liked it all. Well situated across from River Yonne. Not a fantastic view but given the history of the city and the River it was wonderful to be part of this town.
location, comfort and cleanliness of lobby and room, free internet access in lobby, nice parking facility
Staff were excellent. Lack of parking facilities, especially for disabled people.
Attentive and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Nothing
Location, polite friendly staff, very comfortable kingsize bed, cleanliness, good buffet breakfast, 24 hour reception service, view over river. If stay had been longer than three nights, would have appreciated more drawer space in room.
The friendly reception staff . No
Very basic accommodation, at best Not clean to expected standards, and bathroom crummy and smelly. Lack of ventilation/extraction a problem.
Stayed for one night only. Everything you'd expect of budget accommodation.
The Hotel was clean and the staff helpful, as we were only staying for one night en-route to Italy it was ok. I would not wish to stay for longer as it really is a budget hotel.
We liked the situation of the hotel and its proximity to the main roads. The staff were very friendly and the facilities easy to use. No
The force of the water in the shower. The third bed in the room wasn't made.
good for road trip. Needed an overnight stay before we arrived in Paris. no
Friendly check-in (if you arrive before she goes home), room for 4 people at €39 is great value, good buffet breakfast Small, well-used rooms, tiny bathroom, no charm at all, surrounded by other low-price hotels on an industrial estate. You wouldn't want to spend much time here, but for overnight it is fine.
Staff were excellent. Single beds were very good but double bed suffered from "roll together"
friendly staff cramp room and toilet facilities. poor breakfast.
Easy to find and only suitable as a stop over, located next the motorway for easy get away and next to a couple of restaurants within 2 minutes walk I can only describe this (hotel) as a portacabin with a portaloo cubicle inside to and shower and toilet, if your nimble enough you could sit on the loo, take a shower and brush your teeth all at the same time, I used it for one night with 2 kids and the wife and that was enough, if your on your own then it would be fine, used by a lot of workers on stop over, very basic breakfast amenities.
Pool area. Relaxed atmosphere throughout the property. Friendly staff. Generous amount of Domain Wine included as part of the evening meal. There were no bad points.
The setting was very good and the wine cave tour / wine tasting was excellent. The evenng meal was beautiful french fair Whilst we had a great meal / evening it is B&B style, not your typical restaurant. You eat with everyone else
Excellent kitchen, great staff and good beds. We really enjoyed the stay.
Great atmosphere, food & drink at dinner. No frills but good value
Excellent food, with fabulous staff. Very good price and certainly highly recommendable. Everything was good.
From a less welcoming location the day before this was a transformation. This is a working wine producer and provides rooms that are more functional than luxurious but there was a welcoming comfort, wine tasting and rustic food that will guarantee a return. And really good value. Couldn't stay longer!
The very remote location was a blessing and the family who own the vineyard were very friendly
Although I made a mistake in my booking date, the owners did all they could to organize two rooms and three dinners for us. We stayed in the Gîte and we liked it so much that we think about coming back next year. The food and wine were very nice too.
Great hospitality, lovely location, great wine No non-meat option for the evening meal, was a shame
Nicely informal. Good bed. Very convenient for golf. Overpriced - small standard room with cramped bathroom (& defective hairdryer). (By the way, €120 is the normal price, not cut-price, as they indicate on booking.com.) No air con. Golf course itself in poor condition, with lots of bare patches on greens & fairways alike.
The proprietor was friendly. Restaurant pricing was reasonable, and the restaurant service was good. The toilet bowl was stained dark brown, which is unacceptable. The room was cold in May. The room was tired and required deodorising.
The staff were very pleasant and helpfull. It was very conveniently located off the autoroute.
Located just of the Autoroute, was convenient, practical and the staff friendly. The rooms were standard campanile as was the food. Disappointed that the room drinks facilities were well below standard. Not sure it was twice the value of the cheaper chains.
Standard Campanile - predictable and good value. Based on just one meal, the cuisine is below par - my salmon was very over-cooked.
- L'odeur insupportable de la chambre et de la salle de bains
Etap is better value for money
Pleasant staff/management Rooms quite adequate for a very short stay.
The pleasent place.
The owners were nice and one of them spoke English. It was nice to have a terrace of one's own and air-conditioning in the room. There was only one restaurant at walking distance (11 min) but luckily it was excellent serving (French style) Greek food, and the hotel personnel kindly reserved a table for us. The hotel is very well sign-posted and easy to find. The room was small (with too much furniture) and the toilet+bathroom combination was an open-at-the-top kind of closet that allowed all toilet noises to be heard in the room and made the room very humid after showering.
nice flowers around the motel 60ies style cubicle bathroom with poor shower and no sound isolation between rooms
This place was really odd. No windows that opened; not a great location for anything and just weird. It was expensive considering what else we found afterwards.
Friendly proprietors, Wi-Fi, loc\tion
the turist service by the hotel staff
Room was small, bathroom was tiny and breakfast was adequate.
Clean, quiet, nice landscaping Rooms very small, basic.
airconditioned for summer, pretty gardens, well presented breakfast not close to any resturants, especilly Monday and Tuesday nights
Beautiful hotel where we had an amazing room with fire place (standard room), the owner is the sweetest lady (speaks only French). If you eat here you eat with other guests on a long table and have an amazing evening.
Le petit Manoir is a little heaven on earth run by a great couple. A very romantic place to stay. Very comfortable bed and a formidable cuisine.
The peace and tranquility of the setting, the secure parking and the attentive hostess.
Excellant Staff, Good Breakfast, One of the beds was very very soft. Directions on web site not good, found by way of Sat Nav
The room and bathroom were very spacious, clean and comfortable The staff spoke no English, but were friendly
Your hotel was very clean and quiet and the staff did everything they could to accommodate us such as ordering our taxi very early in the morning so we could get to the train station on time.
Very helpful manager. Breakfast was basic & not very good.
Good standard of hotel.
Very comfortable beds and nice, helpful, friendly staff Was a fair walk to the train station and no taxis, trams or taxis were about.
It was comfortable & clean and everything worked OK No wash-hand basin in the WC which was sepaarate to the bathroom. The charges for the non-alcoholic contents of the fridge were excessive. We booked a room on the rear side, but were given a room (the only one left) on the street side.
Good location to town, very friendly manager couple (and dog). All very good.
Quiet, comfortable, very friendly owners. I liked that it was a family-operated hotel. Needs a shower curtain!
A secure lock up garage for our 3 motorcycles. Friendly staff.
close to town quite noisy
What a lovely hotel with great hosts who immerse you in the French language (gently). Excellent service in the breakfast and dining rooms. We had a delightful stay for 3 nights. It is right in the centre of the old town and convenient to all the shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Great little town too.
Friendly reception and assistance with organising parking our car. Lovely courtyard and having breakfast outside was enjoyable. Ghastly mauve paintwork in room and bright mustard in corridor.
Staff tried to be helpful. Room was cold. Very old hotel with very limited parking nearby. No hair dryer provided.
very basic breakfast, basic room - interior design seems to have passed them by unless you love orange and brown, but everything was clean
A warm welcome and excellent service in the restaurant, which had very good food at a reasonable price. The breakfast was also very good, and our room was very comfortable and quiet. The desk called for our taxi on departure, which was very helpful. Tight climb with luggage up the narrow stairs, but that comes with staying in a very old (XVth century?) inn!
Location Restaurant dinner was not good.
The staff were very good and welcoming and the hotel is very close to the town centre. We stayed in rooms in a building separate from the main building. They were very basic with flooring and decoration which is clearly decades old. The mattress had a very pronounced indentation and should have been replaced long ago.
Clean comfortable and spacious room. Very friendly and helpful staff. The "Garage" (ha ha) is located in a derelict building ! some distance away. Although the friendly staff were as helpful as possible it's more trouble than it's worth. The restaurant, though reasonably priced only delivers an out of the packet version of the genuine local cuisine stated on it's menu and the house wine is truly awful.
Good value for money, freindly and helpful staff. A budget hotel well located for the city centre.
